Krauser: Strength is everything. the weak can protect nothing! Vergil: Might controls everything. and without strength you cannot protect anything. familiar?
Something I absolutely love about Remake Krauser is that as he's addressing Leon one last time, you can see him starting to call him "Rookie," choke and cough on his words, and finally call him by his name.
I love how they expanded on Krauser in the remake. Making his knife fight so much better than the quick time event fest of the original. Plus it's the fight where you'd better have your parry timing down so it rewards you for learning this mechanic that makes combat feel so good in the remake.
There's a tragic irony that Krauser took the viral help of Wesker and the Plaga of Saddler in an attempt to become powerful enough that he'd never be helpless or out of control of his fate again yet he was only ever a puppet for Wesker and Saddler both. As a certain individual once commented...Pawns can never become players.
@@Kira22558 I mean he pretty much is in both OG and R. He was a pawn of the government, then a pawn of Wesker, then a pawn of Saddler. That's what makes his statement about "All that matters in this life is Pure. Unadulterated. Power!" so hollow, he's not empowered, he's still on a leash. Yeah, he has greater agility and personal strength, but he's still at the mercy of Saddler in the Remake and both Wesker and Saddler in the OG. Guy was basically Darth Maul, he's kinda cool in appearance and move set, physically strong and a good fighters, but he doesn't realize he's always been just a pawn on someone else's board.
He’s like a representation of the soldiers during Vietnam and how they were essentially pawns to the higher ups who made all of the decisions Or like Solid Snake being used as a pawn in mgs1…
Krauser is such a dope and beastly character. Definitely keeping up the tradition of a badass rival, that characters like Vergil, Sephiroth, and Jetstream Sam set. I would love a game or a DLC playing as him, there is so much untapped potential with his character. He like If Rambo went completely off the deep end. The Remake not only did his character justice but they also enhanced it.

Seamos sinceros, era más bien difícil no ver a Krauser como Vergil siendo que tiene una obsesión particular con leon casi tratándolo como un hermano pequeño
OG Krauser: "All your guns and alternative weapons had no effect, yet a simple scratch of a knife brings me down..." New Krauser: "What knife...?" Also the addition of Operation Javier better be a hint at a Code: Veronica Remake.
great vid, as always, but there's one point that left me a bit stumped. I remember hearing something about how Leon DID take part in operation Javier, due to his prior experience with BOWs, but due to his status as a special agent directly under the higher ups in the government, any and all records and evidence of his participation were completely erased, as if he was never there in the first place. And I think that kinda makes sense, more than the government leaving it all to Krauser and his team, giving Leon a more personal view on the matter instead of him just somehow hearing about it, also explaining how he knows so much of something the government swept under the rug and eliminating the inconsistencies with Krauser's Darkside Chronicles lines.
The Krauser fights were probably the biggest highlight of the game for me and it was specifically because the knife fighting felt like you were fighting someone on very equal grounds, they NAILED it with Krauser imo. and I love the Vergil/Dante comparison because the rivalry aspect works very well with Krauser and Leon.
Huh, moved onto RE4 interesting. Funny thing about Krauser is both versions have semi-understandable motivations for what they did OG Krauser: Injured on a mission that forced him to retire from the military which was his whole life thus he felt completely aimless and thus happy to jump at something that both gave him back his old strength and made it greater Remake Krauser: Disillusioned by the government he'd supported for some long betraying him and being enamored by the power he'd seen of BOWs. Either works.
He'd probably kill me but it try to hug him and let him cry on my shoulder while I tell him it's ok and that your safe now. Your a good man and you don't need to do this
I do think the remake Separate Ways will answer more of Krauser’s involvement because Wesker still needs to get a sample of the dominant strain Plaga and Ada as we saw doesn’t give it to him. This has to happen for the events of RE5, regardless of the changes in the RE4 remake. Hence why I believe her side story will give us some answers if it releases.
Honestly... I would pay for a dlc campaign for each of the characters in mercanaries mode. Luis could be a prequel on how he got campured. Krauser could be operation Javier or when he first infiltated Los Illuminatos. And in this timeline Hunk could be the one to retrieve a dominant sumple for Whesker.
This is true. I think that every character is so interesting and fun that DLC for them would be great. There's definitely a separate ways DLC though. You know how after she shoots Saddler we leave the room carrying Ashley to Luis's lab, and then we have to backtrack. We have to exit through the other side of the room, and the way to where Ada was standing is blocked by rocks, but there's a tiny window so that you look at it... That's a path, with fully lit torches even. No way that would be detailed in such a manner if it was not playable.
I'm glad Krauser was done so well in the remake but this begs the question how the HELL did they screw up remake Nemesis so badly? (not to mention Jill who seems to be more of an angsty teen who likes the B word a lot rather then the cop who made it out of the mansion incident)

And his involvement being kept secret under presidential orders or because he's basically best friends with President Graham at this point, and he thought it pertinent to let him know what happened to his mentor amidst the white house power struggle that resulted in Krausers change of heart.
I think Leon was actually in operation javier and he just wasn't on the official records since he is the president's golden boy and the operation is something they wanted to sweep under the rug, so the journalist wouldn't have had a way to know Leon was there if Leon never took part in it in an official manner. I think operation javier still goes on mostly as we know in the remake's timeline, just with the added backstory to Leon and Krauser
I'd argue Leon and Krauser's ideologies are more like Nero and Vergil instead of Dante and Vergil. As both have a desire for strength, but leon does it to protect people (like Nero) and Krauser does it to defeat his own insecurity (Like Vergil)
Krauser feels like a blend between Vergil from DMC and Big Boss from MGS, and also with some of what is uniquely his own. The Big Boss similarity seemed more hazy at first, what with the American agent lied to and betrayed by his own government and becoming a mercenary, but somehow it feels much more clear when I see him literally being a snake eater, and the camera dwells on it just long enough for the influence to be clear. Also with the release window irl making for plenty of time to shape Krauser's backstory based on MGS3. Also, his name is another version of "John" (Big Boss's real name), being Jack. I'm disappointed by his casting in the remake, though. He's solidly-written, but it's just the performance that's lacking. Also his face is not as intimidating as it should be. His lackluster performance in the remake is vastly overshadowed by new Ada's incompetence, though, so he more-or-less falls into "free pass" territory for me. His performance does not ruin the character, after all. He just fails to capture the nuance of the situation beyond the deranged villain portion... and even then he's inconsistent with his guttural yells, only sounding correct roughly half the time, and that's being generous. It would've been nice if I felt some lingering humanity that he buried toward his end in the performance, but no dice.

So krauser kidnapped ashley with one arm??
6:04 I genuinely don’t see how that is surprising
7:44 unless they’re berkin and get the “cheap stuff”
Caralho video do Wesker?
Ok, so the Red words in the thumbnail are "The U.E. of J.K.," and all I can think of is, "The Unfortunate End of John Kennedy."
I think Rolento from Final Fight was the inspiration of Krauser.
not mentioned, no C4 control from the original fight comrade. BOOM but yeah the dog tags and the photo ew seems like alot stems from the reworking of Ada and Louise. plays out in Krauser killing Louise not saddler
Can you do KIlly from Blame! by Nihei Tsutomu? Killy is a very interesting protagonist.
Please do a video on wesker! The Mastermind!
Caralho é o wesker
Maybe Separate Ways DLC will answer things
Since there are a LOT of event changes in RE4R, not a bad one like 3R was but it is a huge surprise just how overhauled 4R is and somehow Capcom made it work
Rest in Piss U3 you will not be missed
Bro
No
It should be different person or U3
snakes, venom, viruses, espianage, mercenaries......I swear RE series is turning into the horror science fiction equivilant of Metal Gear (with monsters instead of robots, viruses instead of cybernetics and nanomachines.....tho both have clones and a eugenics subplot....right down to Leon "stopping that blade" chainsaw" moment
First thing my brain thought when seeing this video:
TUEOFJK 💀
when i played re4 i kept thinking that krauser must be in some other game, but he's apparently just in a CGI movie? Like how am i supposed to follow the story lol
He is there is spin off house of the dead style wii games where u play the operation Kruaser was a part of hopefully that helps but the game came out after 4
I have a video idea for you. How much Lei would Ethan Winters need to buy a Whopper?
I can fix him
I want him to ruin me. Then I can make him worse.
Remake Krauser is definitely better.
Also makes you more invested, because he kills Luis instead.
It's kinda funny you compare him to vergil when he's the prototype of vergil as devil may cry was originally a re4 build that got scraped so they made it into devil may cry
So Krouser made Vergil so Vergil can make Remake Krouser
Uno!
...Krauser ist a German name...
Tuejk or is it tueofjk
TUEOJK
5 mins
But, isn't that wesker?
Krauser was unstable?
