I wonder if yall have covered any of the fights from the Equalizer franchise. Equalizer 3 has a great fight scene when he takes out a lieutenant of the Mafioso.
The Orginal is better, Loen dies at the beginning and end of the fight in the Remake, Kraseir would have killed him when he tried to drew his gun, in the Original he already has his knife out,and Ada shoots the knife away from Kraseir in the original so you criticize on the mount position, only applies to the Remake
The thing to realize here is that Resident Evil 4 and its remake are products of their respective eras. If the original is made in the spirit of 00s action movies, with tumbling, epic camera flights, maximum epic explosions and other things, the remake is made in the spirit of modern down-to-earth look at media culture. More immersive narrative, more down-to-earth realism, more focus on the characters and their relationships, and everything else is done in the same style.
Hey I love your guys breakdowns, I just wanna add something to the spin move Leon did and Krausers kicks. A lot of games that dropped when capcom made re4 were based on an engine made for final fantasy. It’s why their skin has that shine to it and why some of their moves are really wierd and front facing. What makes re4 so cool and what made it cool then was the gameplay. At its time there wasn’t any games that could rival graphics for open map shooter with puzzles. Its audience in Japan and America heard Leon was gonna be the Mc for re4. So in order to help boost poor sales they made him a himbo or action like star. His fights are made to make him look cool and flashy in order to keep the audience happy. In the comics Leon’s knife skills get praised by everyone and Wesker says he the best knife fighter in the world.
From rookie cop to a secret agent who roundhouse kicks parasite controlled villagers and knife fights his former commanding officer. Leon Kennedy, like most RE protagonists, is awesome.

One is over the top while the other is more grounded and visceral and they both work that's why RE4 is the greatest game in the series if not all time.
Nice breakdown comrade! o7 You perfectly described the difference between the 2000's and the (so far) 2020's zeitgeist. Both games are just the product of their time.
Kinda weird cuz Krauser's knife is actually supposed to be larger than Leon's. Even in game, you can actually reach higher places and hit harder than Leon's primal knife.
Well, the comparison of the replicas is not a great way to compare. Krauser's replica is from the remake, which scaled down and made the knives more realistic. Leon's replica is from the OG, which was more bulky and probably meant to look cool. Edit: The practice knives they use are about the size of Leon's knife in the remake.
Something I wish had been addressed about the original fight was the head/body movement of Leon and Krauser. Though the remake has a sequence realistic to the trapping/parrying you perform in Kali training, I think the constant dodging and backing away from the knives from the original fight is more realistic to how 2 people, even trained professionals, would duel it out with knives.
the knife is done by simply slash even in icepick grip because it was huge enough, the realistic in the remake is how the parrying each other and the kick distance, also the lean up standing even in the original
@@jackjax7921this thought process is entirely dependent on an alternate timeline where Ada Wong is slacking and too late to intervene. which does not happen.
You know whats funny ? In the original Leon already pulls out his knife because he felt someone sneaking up on him . And in the Remake Leon already sees Krauser infront of him . But instead of pulling his knife out he reaches for his gun . At this moment Krauser was already touching his throat with his knife . But doesn't kill him because of... plot . "Better use knifes next time" .
SCENIC FIGHTS IS BACK BABY!!!! The short weapons breakdowns by Logan were nice appetizers but I missed seeing you guys really get into the nitty gritty details. My favorite martial arts channel HANDS DOWN
1st of all: missed you guys so much. Second, I physically recoiled when I saw that clip at 15:44. I had the “””pleasure””” of seeing real life clips of people getting stabbed in either the carotid or the femoral artery. The way you bleed and your body reacts when you get stabbed in those areas is absolutely terrifying and disgusting. Third of all: RE4R was a goated game, and Krauser is the best
That sounds traumatic. I can't even imagine seeing anything like that! Why did you see such terrible footage? How does the body react? Is it diffr than getting stabbed anywhere else? (I can imagine how it bleeds! 😮)
@@saga2964I just saw this comment, to answer your question: I either stumbled upon that footage randomly while scrolling on social media, or I looked for specific videos from self-defense focused channels to learn from certain instances so I can see what to do or not to do. As for the reaction, it didn’t necessarily react in an unexpected manner, but it would always be incredibly graphic and a lot of times, the victim would lose so much blood so quickly the body barely has the time to register the fact that an artery was slashed. Truly disgusting

Great breakdown. Love this shyet. Excellent video guys! Loved the parrying in the remake, it makes it feel like they are getting a feel for each other before getting serious. Like running a drill before sparring. Always happy to see these full breakdowns especially when it's of one of my favorite games ever!
It's pretty interesting to learn that Krauser is fighting suboptimally in a number of situations. It's hinted a few times in RE4 (although never explicitly stated) that Krauser may actually want Leon to kill him out of his own shame of failing his duty. It's unclear, but it does create a question of whether his poor fighting technique is just poor planing by the storywriters or actually intentional.
I've been playing the classic original because my brother and I bonded over this game in the mid 2000's and he recently died and I feel closer to him in a way. Fiction doesn't make sense; it's not supposed to. Reality is either depressing or boring.

😂 "You don't do knife flips in real life" True. But if you are a blade specialist who is also boosted to super human abilities via a parasitic worm monster....you might have a very good handle on knife flipping. Edit; could Krauser be simply a defensive knife fighter? He trained Leon so he may know that Leon prefers to be a more aggressive pressure?
I always enjoy the breakdowns like this that still pay respects to what they're doing. A lot of the professionals that do this sort of thing are too far up their own butt going "That's not realistic, that's stupid, rabble rabble", without just appreciating a well choreographed and entertaining fight scene.
Awesome video! I love it when experts take the time to look at video games, and actually analyze them in a serious manner, because it clearly took a lot of time and effort for the game developers to put those scenes together. One thing about Krauser, is that since he's super-powered, it's possible he uses a lot of unorthodox techniques because he can afford to, in a way that Leon, as a regular human, cannot. Leon is skilled for sure, but he's not superhuman in the world of Resident Evil. Krauser has enhanced strength, speed, durability, healing, and reflexes, so a headcanon explanation for his over-reaching techniques is that he can afford to throw crazy kicks at Leon, because not only is he likely going to be fast enough to avoid Leon stabbing him in the femoral artery, but the value he gets out of a single kick could potentially be enough to incapacitate Leon. Plus, Leon might not be expecting such wacky techniques; Krauser literally Mario jumps behind Leon to attack him from behind both in the cutscene, and in the gameplay fights; even the most trained professional would be confused as hell, right before getting shanked.
Now I'm wondering if Krauser purposefully fought with an icepick grip for some end. Maybe he was specifically reserving himself and putting himself at a disadvantage to test Leon as opposed to fighting him as hard as possible. Either way, this was a super interesting breakdown and it was really cool to hear what y'all had to say about each fight!
I learn so much about knife fighting from this explanation. Very nice explanation, so thanks, Logan & Chad! To keep up the weapons explanation, hope to see Mira’s fight against Miseon in God of High School
Krauser is simply toying with Leon. In the beginning he never take Leon seriously. Just imagine this guy is basically have Captain America strength and lite Wolverine regeneration that's why he is playing around because he knew any slash from Leon wouldn't hurt him while Leon take all the fight completely serious because he was fighting for his life, one stab, slash or hit from Krauser will hurt him badly. Leon use all the basic knife technique that he train thousands time consistently. Leon remake honestly don't have fancy move like leon og but all the basic move he have, he master it perfectly even borderline inhumane, even Krauser at the end admit he know Leon potential better than anyone
I've wanted a knife like Krauser since RE4 first dropped. Not a replica, but an actual blade. Closest I've seen is a very expensive Mercworx Meggido or maybe the Sniper.
I think, with Leon's knife switch, I think the idea was a feint, getting Krauser to jump back and off balance to catch him with the wider swing, I'll admit the spin was kinda braindead, but it might've worked with a step forward, upward slash.
Can yall review a scene from the tv series Supernatural? Its S9E11 "First Born" where the character Dean Winchester fights several demons I think it was pretty awesome 👍🏾
Oooeee guys. Have you seen some of the fights and grappling animation in Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf yet? I would love to see some of it dissected. Kengen Ashura *might* have some competition in the department of gorgeous and intricate martial arts animation.
I've played both games so many times and I never even really noticed the knife switching. Especially during the grapple, I had to rewatch several times. I'm not very observant sometimes, lol.
Can you guys break down three fight scenes from the Netflix marvel tv shows, the daredevil hallway fight, Matt vs stick in his apartment, and daredevil vs iron fist in the defenders?
You guys are really fun, speaking about knife fights you might want to check out an anime called Vinland Saga, there's many awesome fight scene on that's anime.
Also in the fights themselves, leons knife is smaller then krausers(allegedly), and, leon learned lots about krausers fighting style from being taught by him, and in the first fight they have, was more of a sparing match and less of an actual deathmatch
Love to see you here! And thank you so much for joining our RUclips Membership! It’s really gonna help us get those full breakdowns out. Never be afraid to send us a message 💪
Now if you are resident evil nerd and believe in greater good you can see krauser taking his time with leon because he is testing him before killing him he was his mentor at one point they fought side by side and krauser took a injury where he couldn't use his left arm anymore and that turned him to get help from unconventional methods he found purpose in servitude and his loyalty to the osmund sadler become more deep each day he was greatful for his recovery to me krauser is a beliver but like many soldiers in the army religion is not your first concern so being a man like he is he gave in and took pleasure out of it everything we saw with original and remake was just him testing himself if there is anything left to cling on to from his old life.
This is probably a stretch, but I feel like a reason Krauser might use an icepick grip is because he’s either testing Leon or handicapping himself. Lorewise, Krauser is a fairly over confident person who still refers to Leon as a rookie, so it stands to reason that he may want to make it easier for Leon to make the fight feel like a challenge. Either that, or he wanted to keep Leon alive during the first fight for whatever reason, so he was going for nonlethal slashes instead of killing him.
It always feels so good to get a full breakdown for you!

Well done, guys. I've been waiting for you guys to break down the scenario between leon and krauser.
We were getting a lot of request on Leon vs Krauser and didn’t know which of the two we wanted to do, so we decided to breakdown both of them lol.
@@ScenicFights smart choice imo
Loved both games immensely, but I do wish that the remake could've done another beautifully choreographed knife fight cutscene
Can you please break down some fight enders from Russell Crowe’s “Unhinged” please? Thanks!!
Can yall review a scene from the tv series Supernatural? Its S9E11 "First Born" where the character Dean Winchester fights several demons
I think it was pretty awesome 👍🏾
Oooeee guys.
Have you seen some of the fights and grappling animation in
Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf yet?
I would love to see some of it dissected.
Kengen Ashura *might* have some competition in the department of gorgeous and intricate martial arts animation.
I've played both games so many times and I never even really noticed the knife switching. Especially during the grapple, I had to rewatch several times. I'm not very observant sometimes, lol.
I realize in the original when Leon is showing his back, for some reason Krauser steps back instead of attacking Leon
Chads switch up from team Krauser to team Kennedy is so funny 🤣
I wonder if you guys can breakdown Chris vs Leon in re6?
There's some interesting exchanges in that fight.
My apologies for my English.
Pls do Scenic Fights of Solo Leveling: Sung Jin Woo VS Igris The Red Blooded Knight pls 🙏🏻😖
Also in the fights themselves, leons knife is smaller then krausers(allegedly), and, leon learned lots about krausers fighting style from being taught by him, and in the first fight they have, was more of a sparing match and less of an actual deathmatch
Because the player is pressing d and a fast thats why 😂 7:16
Looking forward to more long form reviews!
5:10 Chad coming in with the great skin care advice
Korean Skin Care is legit
RE 4 is awesome and martial arts are awesome. Great video
For the next video. I hope you can make fight scene breakdown for the movie: the roundup punishment baek chang gi knife fight scenes
Either that, or he wanted to keep Leon alive during the first fight for whatever reason, so he was going for nonlethal slashes instead of killing him.
what about the Resident Evil: Damnation (2012) - Ada Wong vs. the President Scene ♥
Review the Witcher 3 Killing Monsters cinematic next!
New season of kengan came out please do ohma vs cosmo 🙏
Guys! The last season of Kengan Ashura just released, maybe you could do some breakdowns from it!
7:09 "here as you know krauser is in the dominant position, there's nothing to stop krauser from clearing the obstruction and finishing leon" 💀
Res Evil damnation Ada Wong vs Umbrella instructor great fight to analyze starts hand to hand then goes to knife
Its seems leon is still continuing his trend of doing unnecessary stuff. From the knife swtich in the original to the backflip in the remake 😂
