    Fun Fact: Up until RE Code Veronica, RE games used real weapons and weapon names in game, ie in RE2 the VP70 is actually called a VP70 and Code Veronica even has Calico M-100s in it. Capcom stopped doing this because firearm manufacturers started caring about licensing/ royalties in games once they realized video games were getting big and they could make a lot money, similar thing with MGS series, after MGS4 Konami didn't want to pay royalties.

    • @silvergunner101

      RE5 also used real weapon names and models for most of the guns I believe.

    • @minmogrovingstrongandhealthy
      @minmogrovingstrongandhealthy Год назад +12

      The names were made up however some weapons included legit names in the item description, only the ones that could. It's a legality, with other words they played with legal rights, we can't name these as they are inrl but we can describe them bla bla bla to the point new rules came up and they had to follow up each time. Also to the point where they rather drop everything and just make up everything to avoid it all.
      Handcannon was described as a 50 cal Magnum. List goes on. They never used the actual name for the weapons, but codenames. And some had mentions in descriptions. I think even official guides never had the real names even in description. Just the type of weapon and that is all which again isnt the same thing.
      Plenty of plagiat manufacturers in real life just make up a fake brand name and go with it, not everything needs to be real, after all this a video game, it's fiction and should be treated as such so roll with this mindset.

    • @Bulbman123
      @Bulbman123 Год назад +11

      @@minmogrovingstrongandhealthy You need to go back and play some OG RE games or learn more about guns then if you think the RE franchise never used real world weapons in game. RE2, RE3, CV FOR SURE used real world names for the guns. IN RE2 the description for the "Handgun" is literally "H&K VP70. Manufactured by H&K, Germany. It uses 9mm parabellum rounds" or "Browning HP. Manufactured by FN, Belgium. It uses 9mm parabellum rounds." for Claires , if that's not considered a "real" weapon name/ description to you, than I don't know what else to say XD

    • @Bulbman123
      @Bulbman123 Год назад +4

      @@silvergunner101 True, RE5 uses mostly accurate real world models, the names are pretty accurate too, though not quite as descriptive in terms of the actual brand name, ie H&K MP5, M92F, M3, or S&W 29 (notice brands with abbreviations S&W, H&K have it, but brands like "Berretta" M92F and "Benelli" M3 are missing from those). Kinda like how in OG MW1 the R700 was a Remington 700 (don't need license to put an R in front of 700). Though they do have Ithaca M37 which has the only fully spelled out brand name (Dragunov doesn't count), not sure if they got rights for Ithaca, would be cheaper than a big brand like H&K. That being said, off memory at least, only RE1 actually spells out the full brand name, "Berretta M92FS", so RE5 is good in this regard for an RE game

    IIRC the VP70 in burst has a 2200 round per minute rate of fire, so it pops off those 3 rounds in roughly 1/12th of a second. If someone is standing about 30 meters (99 feet) away, the 3rd round will have discharged by the time the sound from the 1st reaches them... It's honestly a little mind-boggling that they actually made a pistol that could cycle at that speed... Long story short, the sound of discharge is so stacked together it almost seems like 1 shot that stutters briefly.

    • @micuu1

    You are correct about the observation you made about the CQBRs grip looking larger than normal and there is a reason for that. Capcom has worked with the Japanese Airsoft manufacturer Tokyo Marui since Resident Evil 2. They have helped with modeling the guns for the game by providing reference models and scans of their airsoft rifles and even make RE themed versions of the guns. That being said an airsoft AEG AR/M4 platform guns house an electric motor in the grip making the grip larger/wider than a normal grip. My guess is they used a Tokyo Marui CQBR and modeled the gun as it came out of the box.

But he'd always continue pointing the gun at the person whilst doing that. I swear, if you watch closely, he nearly Alec Baldwins about five innocent people every season lol.

Though turning off the easy reload this time might give Jonathan more to chew on since it makes reloading a bit more realistic. Also, taking time to look at how the different parts of the guns are modelled could be a fun deep dive seeing as the non-modded weapons in particular have all their visible moving parts modelled and animated.

Some sources claim that based on the player's health, if it's either not at 100% or below a certain %, that it can impact the player's ability to steadily aim and fire and add increased sway and recoil. I was going in with mild expectations knowing how much was cut from RE2/3make, but it actually preserves almost everything while adding new stuff just like they said. I’ll miss cutscene QTEs personally but I’m probably unpopular with that view. I think the cutscenes up to the castle are pretty lackluster in setting up the story versus the original (One of my favorite buildups is the villagers holding back and being crushed by the first el gigante before you fight him but they just start the fight now with him breaking out on his own, things like that) picking up a lot more mid castle where I am. I also realllly don’t like the merchant now because he spouts out like seven lines just for checking any menu and never shuts up, but guess it’s just a live with it situation.
      Gameplay wise I think it plays great, had to constantly be finding optimal areas to begin fighting back without being cornered and the slightly slower run speed can make it tense. The weapon storage at typewriters was a bit of a concern but since they changed resell value based on your upgrades, it encourages using the other weapons a lot more rather than just what you’ve been upgrading since the start. What I really don’t like about the gameplay is the added charms to the attache case basically being generic video game passives like -1 gunpowder use and 8% RUNNING SPEED. It feels really weird to randomly get charms that would make my experience entirely different from someone else. Could not use them and be totally fine…. But you could also just not use anything if you wanted to. Odd decision to add random bonus perks from a gacha machine in the shooting range. Another problem I have with the gameplay is how hilariously easy it is to break when you get the crafting for flash grenades. They’re very strong in this game since encounters start spamming plagas heads and take the same slots that you used the resource for anyways, so they’re just absurdly op.

    Fun Fact:
    19:25 The reason of the thick pistol grip from the CQBR (AR15) is probably that the graphic designers were using an Airsoft AEG (Automatic-Electric-Gun) Replica as reference, where the grip needs to have storage Space for the electric Motor.
    The Airsoft-Gun Manufacturer "Marui" or "Tokyo Marui" is often featured in the credits from multiple Resident Evil Games. 😁

    @19:15 The same rifle Carlos Oliveira is known for using in RE3. Although there have been nunerous variations designs and adaptations of the AR-15, M16/M4 base over the decades from when it's original military model M16A1 came into existence during Vietnam, I cannot ascertain whether or not that exact particular in game model as seen there or in the R3make of re3 existed during 1998 when the Raccoon City incident took place. Carlos in R3make also got a dual magazine, tactical grip, and red dot scope upgrade for his none of which aside from the option to add scopes were available for it in REm4ke. Funny thing is in RE3 2020 the dual mag in game acted as doubling the ammo capacity rather than actually increasing the reload speed.

    Im sure capcom is using some artistic liberties to thier advantage to make these guns juuust different to not get sued, but close enough to tell what they are going for.
    I think it was like the very 1st one or two games they actually used real gun names and true to life models. Well as true as you could get in the 90s.

      To this day almost half of the RE games had real weapons and names. RE1, 2, 3, 5, Code Veronica, Survivor 1, Survivor 2, and Revelation 1 and 2 with a few liberties. RE7, RE8, and RE4 Remake have some weapons with their real names.

    The Silver Ghost canonically is a custom gunsmith job with a HK USP as a base, similar to the Samurai Edge and its Beretta M9 base
    In theory one could fabricate the compensator and lower frame to match the RE4 pistol
    The official airsoft replica of the Silver Ghost funny enough has HK markings on the pistol still
