A detail Jonathan missed in the sawn off 1887 shotgun is the lack of a trigger guard. Which is to detail that reference to one 1887 used in Terminator 2 Judgment Day. Known as the Rose Box 1887, which had the trigger guard cut out, as was concealed in a box with rose flowers when he found John Connor in time to protect him from the T-1000. Which before being concealed in the rose box, it was the shotgun the bar owner fired a warning shot to T-800.

Correction the Riot gun is based on the Benelli M3 instead of the M4. The difference is it got a feature where you can use it as a pump or as a semi auto shotgun. This is actually a nice nod in the OG where the Leon use the M3 as a pump but he use it as a semi auto in the remake.
5:18 the benelli m4? are you sure Jonathan? It looks more like the benelli m3 to me. Look at the handguard it has the distinct pump action grooves that the m3 has. PS. the m3 has an ability to shoot semi auto or pump action so, for those who point out the charging handle on the breach there you go ;)
The Sentinel Nine (P226) medallion is the secret service emblem since Leon joined. this gun first made its appearance in an animated Resident Evil movie.
5:20 This is like watching a biologist refer to a swan as a goose. I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be a Benelli M3 Super 90 with an adjustable stock. Just look up "Benelli M3 Super 90 adjustable stock" and you'll see guns that look so much like this with slides that look more similar to what's in the game than the M4's foregrip. Shoot, the riot gun in the original RE4 was based on such a firearm and was clearly not an M4 as it had a moving pump.
Another amazing video as always. Thoroughly enjoy seeing the reactions. Would enjoy seeing Jonathan react to guns from some of the VR simulation games such as Into the Radius or Gun Club VR which enable you to manipulate most working parts of the firearms
Interesting that Jonathon chose a thumbnail of a Thompson 1921 despite it not being available in the game( although mods will change that reskinning the Chicago from the M1/M1A1 that can somehow still hold a drum). Even more interesting that Jonathon held up a Thompson WITHOUT a Cutts compensator! I was under the impression that those early compensator-less models were exceedingly rare nowadays! Even most film/tv set in 1921-26 rarely gets that detail correct, opting for the more common post- '26 tommy guns with compensators.
Hard to tell just from a computer image, but I think that hat is a homberg, not a fedora. Fedora's have very large brims, and that hat seems to have more of the homberg's medium-size brim. What? If we're being nitpicky about the shape of the weapons, we should be nitpicky about the hats, too! :D :D
Bit of an odd request, but after he talked on the game’s MG 08 it made me realize that an episode where Jonathan reacts to the emplaced weapons of Toy Soldiers would be really interesting and would allow him to flex more of his artillery knowledge.
I love that crossbows fall under your remit ... and apparently NERF guns too, I was not expecting a description on how the modern battery operated NERF guns work! I love this (and my grandkids will too, I'm sure)
16:23 I do want to interject on that one topic. A while back, I read some bit of literature that talked about the Thompson's rate of fire. The literature stated some weapons were modified through various means, some variants having a 600 round per minute fire rate.
The riot gun is definitely based more off of the Benelli M3 instead of the M4. The ring around the end of the tub for switching between semi-auto and pump-action is quite distinct.
Major John Wick influence. At the end of Chap 13 - he even does the one handed chamber check thingy (I dunno guns) that Wick does at the end of 2. I see you Capcom.
I hope Johnathan can take a look at Receiver 2 sometime, the gun mechanics are very interesting and it'd be a blast to see him break down the reliability mechanics
5:56 it is more of a m3 Benelli you can tell because the hand Gard is a pump action and the m3 can be switched from sima auto to pump much like the SPAS 12.
8:39 I can see something like this working with a revolver type set up with some kind of gas compressor to give it the push. The darts would most likely have to be custom and I don’t see them being able to go that far but it could be cool to see!
Hey, Mr. Ferguson, Keeper of Firearms and Artillery! The Benelli M4 also appears in Resident Evil 3 (2020). The M4’s stock is a shotgun upgrade and weapons part in that game we REfans like to call REtak3. Metal Gear Solid 4 is a treasure trove of a lot of different guns
There are so many ones in that game, I want to see his reaction to the Tanegashima’s divine wind
This or MGS3 would be a good one to look at too
@@bombomos oh oh, Peace Walker also had a ton of guns, and with their developments, some would make Jonathan go mad
The Shotgun is actually model after Benelli m3
Yeah which shotgun, there’s four of them in the game bud.
@@xsct878 the Riot Shotgun, it’s an M3 with an M4 stock.
@@xsct878 The Riot Gun my guy, It's based on M3 Super 90 not the M4 like John said.
@@xsct878 probably the one that’s based on the Benelli M3, there’s only one of those.
@Impracticality Yep that's basically what Capcom did even back in 2005. Tho the pump grip is a dead giveaway that it is the M3.
5:30 NOOOOOOOOOOO! What a let down Jhonathan! That's not an M4, it's a benelli M3, with a benelli M4 super 90 stock. But to be fair you probably didn't see the 3D model or you would have probably noticed the difference.
Everybody makes a mistake sometimes bud, then again like you said, Capcom basically makes a mish mash between M3 and M4. So it's kinda makes the gun silhouette a lil bit confusing for most of us.
I didnt see the 3D model and even i could tell it was an M3. It looked like a pump action, which would make it an M3 and not an M4
@@Xgendude14 Actually in the game is semi auto, which is fine too because the M3 is a hybrid shotgun like the spas 12, meaning it can operate in both semi-auto and pum action. But i think understand what you mean: the M4 is semi-auto only, so if the one in the game was oump it would have been a dead givaway that it was not an M4.
I really want to see Jonathan break down the guns from The Order 1886
The triple barrel coach gun is actually a real weapon featured on the awesome gun guru Hickok45’s channel. It’s called the Chiappa Triple Threat.
I extremely love the weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake!
Whatever, dude. XD
3:57 that metal plate that's attached to the lever was actually an item on one of the three 1887s used in Terminator 2, specifically the one that was modified with a larger lever loop for flip-cocking.
The strikers reload is now fixed… sad he didn’t talk about that - the rotating drum stuff would have made his day
"So overt, it's covert."
That line should be a meme.
Springfield was my favorite gun in the game along with the Punisher, I never put a scope on it and just used the iron sights because it's actually never needed to use a scope. You can easily pop long range head shots and it's still very viable in close quarters
The disc shaped bonus flash hider on the mg08 was very interesting to learn about! that kind of stuff is part of what makes this series so great.
Doing a professional run now with the sentinel nine and the skull shaker and my God the skull shaker is awesome.. so fun to use, is devastatingly powerful when maxed out and that terminator reload never gets old! So glad they covered it here
The Springfield XD is the McRibb of firearms.
"In case anyone's wondering. I'm sure you're not."
I actually was, and had been for quite a while- so, thanks!
@15:20 thank you, honestly something interesting I didn’t know about. I never thought about flash suppressor/hider made specifically for the handlers perspective.
I've always found it. Nice that the modern RE games let you unlock. View individual in-game models on their own. Is it really lets you take in an admire What's the hard work put into them.
Love seeing John's face light up when he gets to show off his special TMP holster. Genuine tacticool.
The crossbow is based of the Steambow stinger I believe.. the magazine attachment for it was invented by RUclipsr Jorg Sprave. Jorg also invented a magazine that can be attached to a hunting bow.
Correction the Riot gun is based on the Benelli M3 instead of the M4. The difference is it got a feature where you can use it as a pump or as a semi auto shotgun. This is actually a nice nod in the OG where the Leon use the M3 as a pump but he use it as a semi auto in the remake.
6:33 this crossbow has been built already by Joerg Sprave from The Slingshot channel.
“Ready to punch it out and start shooting” spoken like a tier 1 operator 😂
One of his best ones. Jonathan if you read these I want you to know you're fantastic and should be told that constantly
I can't even begin to describe how awesome it was when he demonstrated the TMP holster
5:26
The riot gun is not a Benelli M4/M1014, it's a Benelli M3
The M4 is semi-automatic only, the M3 is pump or semi like the Spas 12
I think the riot shotgun is a Benelli m3, still cool tho
The look on his face while showing off the TMP holster 🥺 just looks like an 90s action movie hero
Wohoo, so glad that you guys included even the insane autocrossbow that the enemies wield
I'm absolutely here any day of the week for explanations of what the circular secondary flash hider on the machine gun is for.
Not trying to Akchtually you all but the shotgun that you said was the Benelli M4 is the M3super 90 I'm fairly certain.
Another amazing video as always. Thoroughly enjoy seeing the reactions. Would enjoy seeing Jonathan react to guns from some of the VR simulation games such as Into the Radius or Gun Club VR which enable you to manipulate most working parts of the firearms
Thanks for the ray gun flash hider info....i always wondered what it was for...
That TMP shoulder holster seems like something the company could have marketed to Secret Service or a similar agency.
I love that crossbows fall under your remit ... and apparently NERF guns too, I was not expecting a description on how the modern battery operated NERF guns work! I love this (and my grandkids will too, I'm sure)
The slingshot channel was the pioneer of that cross bow, it's legit pretty deadly now.
16:23 I do want to interject on that one topic. A while back, I read some bit of literature that talked about the Thompson's rate of fire. The literature stated some weapons were modified through various means, some variants having a 600 round per minute fire rate.
The Bolt Thrower part "It's purely fictional, you could build this"
*Laughs in Jorge Sprave*
That Bolt thrower is Joerg Sprave's Tactical crossbow. Crazy 20 yrs ago that didn't even exist, atleast not like depicted.
Thank you guys for all you do!!!
6:01 This is actually not the benelli m4 but rather the benelli m3. A pump action and semi automatic shotgun. Similar to the SPAS 12 in operation.
I love that this man knows the original game and has so much knowledge on fire arms in general
Personally I would love to see Boundary's guns. The production team tried something very new for space weapons.
Look up the AR-6 Stinger if you like the bolt thrower. It’s very close in design. Magazine fed repeating crossbow, super cool 😊
Hope to see Jonathan review Enlisted's weapons! Would love to see how he likes the cool prototypes and rare guns portrayed!
Fourth week pushing for a Resistance, Darkwatch or E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy episode.
14:26 absolutely cool information
That was my favorite part too :D
In the Crossbow Brute segment, they missed the opportunity to have the Brute say "let me show you its features!"
I like how you can tell he actually games too. Some of these expert videos on RUclips you can tell the person doesn’t play many video games.
I hope Johnathan can take a look at Receiver 2 sometime, the gun mechanics are very interesting and it'd be a blast to see him break down the reliability mechanics
The TMP stock IS the actual Steyr branded stock occasionally sold as an attachment for the TMP.
Still looking for a part 3 of More Hunt Showdown guns. They added a few guns Jonathan had brought up that I think he’d love to see.
That stock turns the normal look-alike Remington-870 (REmake4’s W-870) shotgun into a Benelli M4 for Jill Valentine of the Raccoon City Police Department (RPD) S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) Alpha team to use for the rest of that game.
Very odd but exciting, nonetheless, right?
This guy should have his own channel!
He does... but never uploaded any videos- though Jonathan leaves comments and Community posts on occasion
