Reverse Curl Exercise - The Proper Lift - BPI Sports

  • Biceps are made of short and long heads. But there’s another muscle called the brachialis which lies underneath, that makes your bicep look bigger. To work that muscle, just stand feet and hands shoulder width apart, hands over the top of the bar, keep elbows tight to your body as possible and curl up. Make sure you use lighter weight because that muscle isn’t as strong as your bicep.

    Also remember that the reason you will be using lighter weight than the normal barbell curl is that, in a normal barbell curl, it is the wide area of your palms absorbing the force of the gravitational pull - whereas in this exercise, it is your fingers absorbing that force to enable you to keep the barbell in your hands. This is why I tend to use this workout as the last workout of my biceps. It's a great finisher and perfect for as a last exercise due to the lowering of the weight.

    Is the form wrong is the wrist is bend down when the curl is coming? Do u loose the benefit of the work too? Thanks

      As long as you keep the wrist bent the entire movement it's okay. And also don't go heavy if you keep wrist bent
