Glad you liked it. I’ve owned various motion based chassis over the years as well. I may introduce motion on my current rig at some point. As many have noted, I believe a good sim should have a) direct drive force feedback wheel, b) good pedals, brakes are the hardest to get the feel, c) visual, audio, seating position all important. Thanks for the comment and support! Cheers
I've been loving my Simubcube 2 Pro for last year now. I'm very glad I spent the extra money and bought it instead of buying a lesser wheelbase. Buy once, cry once! Thanks for sharing your setup.
You have an awesome setup, I would like to ask you about your sound system right now I have a stereo sound system and I'm wondering to install a 5.1 or 7.1 system, Do you feel that this is more inmersive than a headset? I would love to feel the sound coming from all directions and being able to know where is every sound coming from the simulator.
Great question. Well sound as you know is a big sensory input and can make a difference. Headphones are nice and sometimes required but strong audio is a plus. I do like the 5.1 setup as you can feel the low’s and hear all of the sounds. If your location supports it, loud or say louder sound from a strong system is nice. My old simulators always had top end sound systems for this purpose. In fact, I will go ahead and upgrade my sound system on my current simulator and post the video for everyone to see. A before and after of course. Thanks for the comment and support of this channel!!
This is really interesting. I have a DD2 and have considered going simucube or VRS Pro. I wonder how the new CSW DD+ compares. What was the reason you switched?
I switched only to see what the simucube felt like. I had been using the DD2 for the last few years, I did not have any complaints with the DD2 other than their proprietary wheel. To be honest at first I was not that excited with the simucube direct drive. I say that because it does require more in tuning so to speak than the DD2. But once I got it working how I liked it that is what won be over. The tuning ability of the simucube is very strong. It comes down to driver feel of course, this base seems to have more realistic feel in my view than the DD2. I am not affiliated with simucube so you know, this was my own money. Let me know what you end up doing and what you think if you would. Thanks
For my pedals I installed a 1/4” aluminum plate on the base of the pedal mount which solved its flex problem. On the wheel base, I had to play with a few mounts for the TRX and got it taken care of. You are correct, the TRX takes a little adapting to solve the flex but once done works well. Hope this helps you
@@NixonMotorsports Thank you for the quick response. I have been eyeing this chassis for a couple of months and will probably spring for it. I have a cnc mill so I'm thinking of machining some parts that can adapt to the tubing for gussets to help strengthen. I do like the design how it can be adjusted. You purchased the quad monitor stand from them as well?
I also have issues from the 5.1 audio setup, I do have my rears working but when I do my fronts are very low. I have not gotten around to it but I plan on installing another sound system. In the past simulators, I have always used soundblaster feed to an external car amplifier and used high end speakers. That worked great. I will get to this and switch out my audio setup and post a video for everyone to see. Thanks for the comment!
I was about to comment on this. I have my center monitor between the base and the wheel, makes for a lot better immersion. I like the rig but the monitors and FOV need some tweaking for sure
Thanks for the note, on FOV, monitor position etc. I happen to try many positions to see what I like that's all - having said that, good note and observation. I happen to believe there is no one setting that is perfect for everyone, from FOV, monitor size, monitor position, curved screens vs flat, VR and so on, just my two cents. Thanks again! cheers
@@NixonMotorsports Sry but your FOV is dead wrong. You can change a bit to your like, but not as much. Easy to see on the 180o last turn. With the FOV that you are using it's like a open easy turn. But sure this is a game, you can play it as you want. There are no rules that you need to follow. Also I'm a simracer with DD1, HE sprints and Samsung 49'' superwide and many year on the matter (54 years old, started with 14 ;) ). Happy New Year !
@@NixonMotorsports Yeah its trail and error, and its your rig so what suits you best is what matters. I've spent hours and days trying to nail the perfect screen placement. What I found to be best is having your eyes dead center on the screens, and try to get the screens to wrap around you 180 degrees. I have mine between the base and the wheel, and the immersion is bang on. Also changing the horizontal pitch makes a huge difference
me parece increible que con la cantidad de dinero que tienes en el simulador no tengas bien configurado ni el fov ni el volante visualmente que gira mas que el tuyo real
Why in the world would you use the simucube mount? That thing is garbage. Simucube would have mounted right up to your existing mount, which should not have been used on a Fanatec DD anyways, not supposed to front mount one of those for some reason.
Thanks for showing off the setup! Never enough coverage for this kinda stuff online, all of it helps the hobby.

Wow the TRX looks pretty stable, hardly any flex with the DD!
Yes the TRX is solid, I am impressed with so much adjustment capabilities it still remains stable. Thanks for the comment

Dope set
Thanks
Can you tell me what size monitors you are using. Front and sides? Thanks!
Sure, I have 32” monitors same size for the 3 monitors.
Looks sharp and enjoy, cheers
Thank you!
Is there much flex in the pedals and wheel? I have seen mixed reviews on this chassis.

I use a 5.1 surround setup as well but the rears don't really do much in any sim. All setup in Windows correctly. How does it work for you?

Glad to hear it, I am very happy with the Simucube wheel base as well. Have you tried their active pedals? Just curious. Thanks
