I love how quickly Assetto Corsa can go from modern circuit racing, to historic re-enactments of the greatest races from the past, to a heaven for anyone who wants to put themselves into the 1990's Japanese car tuning scene.
Between this and SRP, there's something for every flavour of car weeb.

This video got me into Touge racing and JDM cars. Used to never bothered with manuals in Assetto but now I'm ripping every manual I can find around Gunsai and Akina with little heel and toe action that I learned thanks to Jimmer. Amazing fun and well worth the time it takes to learn it. Every once in a while I come here and rewatch this video. Just amazing! :D

Mate, i knew you were fast i have enjoyed your videos a lot...but this is ON ANOTHER LEVEL. I tried gunsai touge and it is so effing hard, so much so that my PB in AE86 without ABS or stability is 2:40...damn man. One of the best videos at all

Jimmy PLEASE get on the Kaido battle tour servers, you can find all the info under announcements in touge union. You can do races with “life meters” and has almost every car/road from initial d. There’s even leaderboards for uphill and downhill!
Nothing like hopping on a Nordschliefe track day in the tuned AE86 and finding something you can keep the pressure on who's game, this looks incredible and I love the rules. Wasn't this like the boss fights in NFS Carbon?

Really like the editing too with the "wins" and "vs" screens. Never seen the actual show but I imagine it's what it looked like in there.
That's no ordinary MR2. That was a sexy 222D rally monster ❤ probably my favorite car ever. A few were built to be Toyota's Group S rally car, a class that was going to be even more insane than the legendary Group B, but was cancelled before it started when Group B got the axe for safety reasons.
Can't wait to get AC so I can drive it! And the togue

me, a 16 years old boy, makes me happy when I think that I actually grew up with the touge experience since I started playing racing video games at 3 or 4 years old, and the first game I played and still play to the days of today is Need For Speed Carbon (that is 16 years old as well), and for the ones that doesn't know about the game, it features touge racing or as referred in the game, canyon duels, where you go for a 2-stage race, chase and lead, against the boss of each territory. This type of racing amazes me in such a special way that I can't really explain, especially in the game, once I disabled all HUD features (not including the rear view mirror) for the first time, the atmosphere of the game made me feel that it was actually me driving that car on the canyons, and I grew up playing that game and it kept me getting more into the car scene as time goes by
Man I love this style of racing. There's just something about it that elevates it above others for me.
To me, it's a bit of a hybrid between circuit racing and rallye. It's really fun to watch.
I have been touge racing since i got AC like a year ago and it has been so fun, fulfilling and challenging. The Touge community is just amazing and i love racing people there when i have time after work. Makes me think back on the days where i was in school excited to get back home to play vidya, i feel that again in my mid 20s cause i am excited to race ppl on the touge tonight etc
The stream you did here was awesome too. I love when you do things like this and Shutoko Revival etc. It feels you are ACTUALLY having fun and aren't being down on yourself and hating it every second O.o
I never found the hot version videos this exiting.. except for the Mine's R34 Ultimate Response video, the part where they cut from Orido to Tsuchiya right before they jump to the cockpit camera.. that sound, switching gears, that reverb.. those two seconds keep me going to that video every couple weeks..

I got into watching touga a couple years back, early 2000s tuners finetuning to try and shave milliseconds and tweak to amazing performance.
To do touge on AC sounds so fun.

As a Honda fan and a CTR owner I think I've watched Hot Version's "VTEC Club" about 50 times now.
on those long turns don’t start until n the inside you lose all speed trying to maintain it. Start on the outside and cut into the inside line towards the end. It helps you sharp off the turn aswell as maintaining speed
I had a 88 Corolla GTI with the same twin cam engine.
And the sound of this is spot on, this Ae86 Seems o much faster than my 145 hp non t-vis induction corolla though

As a Tip you need to relax more behind that wheel... drive it smooth. calm relaxed

Thing i like about your videos Jimmy is that you always use the in-car/cockpit view no matter what you drive. The way a proper sim racer should be. I hate seeing videos where someones on a wheel in a racing sim and they use the dumb chase car view like theyre playing Outrun or some arcadey crap

In Best Motoring, I loved seeing the super uptight, humble tuners in the mountains showing off their specd out s2000s or hatch EG6s, and then Orido crashing em in the guardrails 😂😂
I bought a PS2 title just before the system was replaced by the PS3 called Kaido Racer.
It's basically Gran Turismo mixed in with Hot Version.
Really tight Touge like point to point races, & actually pretty decent graphics.
If you can find a copy I'd definitely recommend it.

So Touge is similar to the canyon boss races in NFS Carbon. Where the goal is to stay as close as possible to the car ahead or pass them.

The Touge is a excellent place to prove absolute car control. Imagine coming threw a sim racing career after dominating the Touges. You'd be a menace.
Recommend series, I notice some of the mods cars have characters while driving them on gunsai touge and I think hearing input of how the car reacted is fun. Give more opportunities for modders to create more cars
