    Looks like you chose the 8020 Trak Racer style monitor stand (MS-FM-QD) over the matching tube frame (MS-B34) type. It looks to be a tighter fit which would be preferable. Any particular reason for choosing this stand over the other? Curious to do the same, but for the triple monitor stand (MS-FM-SML-TR). Appreciate your input and thanks for demonstrating your setup.

      I selected this monitor mount for what seemed to be a more solid or sturdy stand. I’ve had monitor stands in the past that worked but I had issues with stabilizing monitors. That’s why, I will say this mount is very good and handles my monitors with no problem at all. Thanks for the comment and support!

      @@NixonMotorsportsAnother few questions if I may. I noticed that there's a Large 1200mm/47.25" and a small 800mm/31.5" triple stand - assuming it's the small, correct? I've also heard complaints regarding the shifter mount having a lot of flex. Have you found it to be a little flimsy or added any mods to stiffen the mount? Thanks!

    • @NixonMotorsports
      @NixonMotorsports  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@SupaFlav67 Of course, no problem. On the monitors I have the large triple stand and added the 4th monitor mount on top of the triple stand setup. It works well. On the shifter mount, you are correct it can move. It has adjustments which is nice but can move if you are aggressive on the shifting. For me, I rarely use the sequential shifter and use my paddles. I would agree with you, it should be enhanced to remove it from moving. For me, I would brace it somehow or just build a new riser with a fixed mount. Hope that helps, thanks

      That’s great. If I recall, the speaker stands I found on amazon. Not sure but most likely. Enjoy the TRX rig. Cheers

    I just got mine. I am with you on the wheel mount, it needs refinement!! I got the universal mount which is quite heavy.. Going to try mounting mine with the Fanatec mount. I just have to get 8mm t nuts to replace the 6mm ones that came with my Club Sport DD.

      Good to hear, for me as I mentioned in the video once I resolved my wheel base mount I was very happy with the rig. Oh, also added bracing to my pedal mount to reduce its flex under heavy braking. Otherwise I really like the TRX. Thanks for the comment!

    Help again...
    Wondering about your dd2 and how you have it mounted...
    Do you only have screws from the side for the base or do you have screws on the front as well ??

      When I had my DD2 mounted I just used the screws on the sides of the base. It seemed to work. Cheers

    hey man, how are you. dig your setup. but more importantly. i saw on your dd2 that SRM hub, i wanna do exactly the same thing and get rid of all my podium hubs and switch to NRG quick releases. what all did you get from srm to make it happen. thank you again!

    • @NixonMotorsports
      @NixonMotorsports  9 месяцев назад +1

      Sure thing, the DD2 wheel base worked well using the SRM hub adapter. It is straight forward, replacing the podium hub with it on the base. No programming or other. To activate high torque on start up you turn the wheel a little until you see the base accept it and done. Not a bad way to use the DD2 base with any wheel of choice. Thanks for the note and support!

    Nixon Motorsports - Hello Again... :) What would you say to someone who is using the dd2 and wants to throw the dbox G5 on one of these??? Do you think it would be too much flex or would it hold up ???

      @@jockeyjack3367 My TRX does not flex very much at least for me. I did strengthen the pedal assembly so it was more stable under braking. My Wheel base is solid. With so much adjustments on the chassis itself that does create some flex but very minor in my view. I compare this to my last rig and it is night and day different. Cheers

    You can get the monitors a little closer. Asus also have a bezzel free kit which is a big help. By the way, have you tried racing with vr? The immersion is on a whole different level

    • @NixonMotorsports
      @NixonMotorsports  9 месяцев назад

      Yes I agree with you and did so following the making of this video. On the bezel kit I have not tried that before, good advise I will check it out. On VR, yes... I was using VR for a year or so and switched back to triples. The immersion is insane for sure but my preference at least for now is triples with high refresh rate and resolution. What VR headset do you recommend? thanks!

    • @pimgenee8710
      @pimgenee8710 9 месяцев назад

      @@NixonMotorsports i have recently begun using vr, just borrowing one from a friend. I have been reading into them but each have their pro’s and cons. I’m using the meta quest 2, which i’m not overly fond of. The dash isn’t readable, but that could also be my outdated pc.

    • @pimgenee8710

      @@NixonMotorsports the bezel free kit is only meant for 27inch displays, didn’t hear you say anything about their size so mind that. I don’t remember if you have used them, but pedal rumble motors are incredible for abs and traction loss sensation. Might also be something you’re interested in since you’re enjoying the buttkickcer

      @@pimgenee8710 Ok, interesting. It has been maybe 3 years for me using VR, my thinking was to wait until the tech improved a lot before I tried it again. It was the Oculus headsets, I do not recall which one to be honest.

      @@steveramundo4946, Thank you! Yes, I have chewed on motion. I owned a simulator company years back and all our sim's had motion. 3, 4 and 5 axis versions.
