Thanks for the video! I was about to purchase the reclining seat, but the flex when breaking is really off putting. Saved me some money there! Thanks again!
Last Friday i finished my custom aluminium extrusion profile with a bucket seat and i've spent more time adjusting stuff than playing lol. I have ordered a cervical and lumbar support pillow to help with comfort as my shoulder blades are killing me and had to set the wheel a bit further than my wrists since I was hitting the seat with my elbows.
Thanks for the comment! I feel you on spending more time tweaking the set up than using it! I've had to prioritize not taking it apart and tinkering to ensure I get more track time. Let me know how you like that cushion once it comes in!
$400 Sparco FIA approved seat(Sprint L) is just waiting for my TR 160S to arrive - never had a doubt it was rigid enough. I will don't know why some burn money(marketing?) on poorly made fiberglass seats. Thanks for the video making me happy with my purchase.
Looks great! How are you liking it 6 months later? Just ordered my first full rig, TR120 and the TRX Hybrid fixed fiberglass seat. Been racing in a swiveling office chair and NLR 2.0 stand, so the Trak Racer rig is going to be a game changer for me.
Great question and thank you for taking the time to comment. I am happy with it, it is not as comfortable. I had some bad leg and back pain after a triathlon and this seat would always make the nerve issue flair up. Overall, I’m happy I went with this over the recliner. I got the chance to sit in a Porsche GT4 a few weeks ago that was for the track. The seat felt extremely similar.
Thanks! This is great, you have saved me some money! I was about to buy the reclining seat but that flex is bad! Whats the point in spending all my money on a sturdy rig only for it to be wobbling.
Happy to hear the video helped. If you’re a bigger person or like to adjust when not racing it could be useful but I have my rig only for racing. Enjoy
Great video! im planning to make a sim that is really similar to yours, as in Trak Racer cockpit, the same samsung monitor, but one thing I'm stuck on is to go with fanatec or moza. I see you have the r16/21 wheelbase, which is what newton meters I'm looking for. My question is basically if you've had any problems with any moza products. Thank you!
No issues thus far! No need for the kill switch… it’s overkill 😅. I only run at 60% of the R16. In high downforce running at 100% good luck to get in a 15 minute race. The r16 does clip though at places like Monza, spa, algarve.. any places that have a hairpin . I do question if the R21 would face the same. New content coming out about the set up of my TR8 Pro and calibrations of Moza pithouse*
For the fiberglass seat? Not really.. I would relate any flex to my rubber grommets to absorb the vibration noise from the butt kicker than the seat itself
@Moore_Podiums there was another youtube review on the gt seat where the back of the seat would push out when the operator pushed on the brakes. Just curious if this was an issue for you as well.
I have the same rig I had a spare metal plate which you can order from track racer that elevates the seat. Than you will have gy position and it's more comfortable than the gt seat. I lobe mine
I'd like to have found this video before buying the reclinable seat from NLR 🙃, haven't installed it yet since I'm waiting for my cockpit to arrive but now I'm regretting my purchase
Don’t be down on yourself. If you have friends over that are bigger or if you ever want to watch a movie or edit a RUclips video in your rig, much more comfortable than the bucket seat!
Actually, your steering wheel is a little too low. You will find much more precision and comfort having the top of the wheel just in line with your chin. F1 drivers have the top of the steering wheel just under the bottom of the nose. As far as distance, your wrist should be able to hang over the edge of the top of the wheel. I've spoken to a few F1 drivers about these positions and also GT/Touring car drivers who shared these positioning theories. When I have driven many of the different new Ferrari road cars, I have found the positioning about the same! Great video though.
Hey, thank you for the feedback! I will be doing my next non-racing video on this and the different styles! The track racer TR8 has many config options
Thanks for the comment, I ended up taking about 2 hours of redoing the config of the rig. Figured I’ve heard it from enough people I’m doing it wrong.. thanks for the feedback

Dude, I’m so happy to read that and glad it helped!
I'm in the same exact position. Grateful for this!
Thanks... I was looking exactly for this content in view of the next black friday

Saved me from wasting money on the reclinable seat! Thanks!!
Glad it helped!
Good video. I currently have the recliner seat and don’t find it too comfortable and been thinking about the fiberglass seat.
The fiberglass is less comfortable but more real. If you’re looking for comfort stay with the recliner and change the seat config where possible

Did the seat come with those universal mount plates on the side?
Hey the universal plate is separate. Great question and apologies for not covering that in the video
Love the review, TJ! Keep these up. (And thanks for the shoutout )
You guys have set the standard! We’re just trying to keep up
lookin good thank you for the vid ill get the bucket
Happy to help!

SIMAGIC is way better and has alot of great deals on right now.
Do you notice any flex to the back under hard braking?
For the fiberglass seat? Not really.. I would relate any flex to my rubber grommets to absorb the vibration noise from the butt kicker than the seat itself

@@relaxfoo I did not have that experience, sounds like a cheaper way to get a motion sim 😆
Really helpful video. Thanks.
My pleasure, my goal was to help!
Get yourself a neck cushion. It will help, got one on my bucket seat and a lumbar support.
Thank you for the recommendations! The padding is a bit lacking on the lower back and butt

Hey, thanks for commenting! I have not been able to locate that add on but I’m glad to hear it’s working well for you!
You are sitting way back your arms need to be on 90° angel for optimal use but if it feels best like that for you ? You do you
Hey, thanks for the feedback, I’ll adjust the seat and see how it feels
@@Moore_Podiums no prob still good content tho
The pedals need to go way to the front (far away) and the wheel closer to your body
Everyone says get a real car seat.
They're designed the way they are, for a reason. Heck you can even hook up a 12V battery for adjusting them.
I would not be opposed to trying a real seat, will keep an eye out for some used ones

Thank you!
Go to your local chop shop or car graveyardand get a real seat from a real car. More selection, less money, higher quality, and more rigidity.

whole rig looks kinda wrong pedals way to close and wheel is to far away ....knees to much bend almost cramped and arms totaly streched

@@Moore_Podiums np^^ i mean at the end its mostly pers. preference but a few thing causes fatigue and pain like the cramped knees or stretched arms
Real race cars don't have recliner seats so why would you want one on your Sim Rig....
Your rig is a Race car?😅
