I wouldnt mind seeing more sim-racing related things on this channel.
Oh, hell yeah.
This 100%
Agreed! Maybe even some setup tips too!
yep me too, but you can start by building my super cheap rig.....
Flight sim too
Only countries in Europe who drives on the left is Ireland and the UK. Sweden used too, but changed it a long time ago. Their postal cars still has the steering wheel on the right side though, for easier access to mailboxes in the back country. Great video, can't wait to see more of this setup.
In the US our postal cars have the driver seat on the right
Take my world when i tell you in France most people do drive left each Friday night, or middle at best.
Malta and Cyprus are on the left.
The UK drives on the correct side of the road.
Swedish cars still had the driver on the left side before 1967. Most postal/paper delivery cars are right-hand drive to get to mailboxes, i think that's almost universal for countries that drive on the right side of the road.
Always a treat when Phil and Nic get some camera time lol. Would love some vids of yall just messin around with it once you've had more time with it
Judging by those noises I think Phil is a fan of V10’s 😂
Such joy
As a fellow sim racer I’m happy to see the tech get more exposure on channels like this. I have the TR8 Pro with a bucket seat and absolutely love it.
How much did the bucket seat cost alone, would you think? Assuming it came part of a bundle of some kind.
I'd like to compare to the cost of a real car seat, that you can sit in and game for hours without feeling a thing. Could sleep in, honestly.
@@Sir.Craze- the specific bucket seat in the video is around $300 usd I’m pretty sure, what a lot of sim racers on a budget do is they go to a local scrapyard and grab a seat out of a real car for basically nothing
@@Sir.Craze- it was $350. I thought it was $300 with the frame that I bought but its actually the same as the standalone price.
Ditto
@@wilsonxci that's interesting! I asked my father because I was curious and for the one he gave me, if he was selling to someone for a car, he said 150 canadian. A used, mint condition, automotive chair would cost about the same as a bucket seat, 300. One that's in acceptable, not worn, but not "like new" condition 150. And as someone mentioned all manner of conditioned ones for nothing.
I find it hard to believe a bucket seat is ever a better option when I assume a lot of people just wouldn't think about using a car seat. As, why would you think about used car sales in general most of the times anyways? The thought isn't Obvious, plus the racing seat seems more authentic. But we as sim racers want to be able to game comfortably without hurting our posture or muscles, not be strapped in solid in case of a crash. 🤔
I don't blame anyone for going with what's common, just find it interesting and am tempted to sell my own sim rig. And honestly would if it weren't such a niche market.
I love the recent surge in the sim racing scene. I just put together my first rig with a direct drive wheel and I'm blown away with how much of an upgrade it is over my old desk/swivel chair with g920 setup.
I was actually suprised how lacking the upgrade from my Thrustmaster T500 + TLCM pedals was to Fanatec GT DD 8NM with V1 pedals, I sold them after a week and got Logitech DD Wheel 10nm and Pedals set and that felt like an upgrade, specificly in Gran Turismo 7 and PSVR2.
Haven't tried iracing, read on forums specificly that Gran Turismo has nerfed Force Feedback on other brands, so that could be the reason tho.
Also Logitech G29 and G920 are gear based force feedback and going even to belt driven wheels feels like noticable step up.
@@KryssN1 That's the one I got. The Logitech Pro wheel and pedals. I'm diggin it.
@@KryssN1I went from a g27 and got the r5 bundle, feels like night and day.
I wish I had the room for one... :(
@@KryssN1you sold your Fanatec for Logitech??
I'd love to see you guys do a hybrid flight and race sim.
Wouldn't mind some DCS action.
@@Republic3D That and some space sim action as well! Need some r\floggit material lmao
I wonder what people like about flight sim games apart from games that would let you high each other what is interesting about it? Maybe you can educate me?
@@chabu2306 I'm not sure what you mean, but flight simulation lets you fly an aircraft, not only stop and go and turns, but also up an down, upside down, sideways, all 6 degrees of freedom. Within the flight simulation community there are people who like to fly airliners and learning all the systems and navigation that is required. Others like flying smaller aircraft, bush planes, landing on short air fields in remote and beautiful areas. Others again like flying fighter jets, doing dogfights, learning how to operate the weapon systems. You should give it a go. It's really fun. :)
You just brought me back here, my passion for overclocking and constantly upgrading my pc had waned over the years but sim racing has been a big part of my life the past few years. Hope to see some more sim related content in the future!
i like cars !
We all do (those who are watching)! 😁🏎️
I like turtles. 😊
I like ducks
I like trains
Ricky Bobby voice : I like cars 😂
I was just thinking that I wanted a racing sim in my office… my partner wasn’t too excited about the idea, so I tried to find another thing to fixate on… then Jay drops this video… thanks for the crack Jay! 😅
You dont need a racing sim in your office :P
Its a sign!
@@ShimejiiGaming You don’t know my life! LOL
So, in my living room then?
@@rickbrookes9491 Nah, office forsure. I'm sure once its up and running, your partner will want to try it and will fall in love with it.
I would recommend staying away from trak racer
More!!! I just built mine yesterday. I love the hobby and all the different ways to appreciate it. Sim racing, immersion, all of it is good stuff
I love that a lot of the bigger channels are getting into sim racing! I just finished building my triple monitor, simagic alpha mini, and Simagic p2000 build. I'm very excited to get all of the cables wired up and get racing!
I literally got into sim racing a month ago myself so i love to see this :D
Love to see it grow!
And hope to see you on Assetto Corsa or iRacing some day :D
It’s nice to see some sim racing content on the channel again! I actually started watching Jay’s channel back in 2017 when I was getting ready for my first PC build primarily for sim racing, after being away from PC gaming for about a decade. I upgraded from Clubsport wheel base and pedals to a Moza R9 and Heusinkveld Sprints and HP Reverb G2, last year. I hope to see more of this stuff!
8:04 is my favorite. I love the grunts of frustration knowing you are so close and then triumph
Absolutely more sim racing content. Would be interesting to see a comparison if they sent you an aluminum profile rig, which can be more affordable. The Moza R9 is ok, it's an affordable price point so it's popular. The GS V2 is semi affordable, the FSR is great. They might be ok for ovals as well. The Moza software is ok. A SIMAGIC Alpha Mini is tad more expensive, generally thought of as a much better value. 12-20 NM is going to be better than 9-10. The VRS is a great option for the higher strength base. Either way it's going to be night and day from what you were using. DD bases have a lot of options, it's the wheels that get difficult to find the exact ones you want that fit the ecosystem that you are using. I wish they would just all use the same style QR, but then you could go outside their ecosystem for a wheel and they don't want that. There are far better options for pedals. Heusinkveld, VRS, Simforge, VNM, etc all provide more adjustability, especially for pedal spacing when you are using a dedicated rig. Have fun!
This is awesome, just in the process of getting my first sim rig built, got myself a fanatec DD wheel as my first, couldn't be happier. It's awesome to see this.
Congrats and have fun with it. I spent a lot of money to enjoy sim racing and I don’t regret it one bit. It’s a hobby you can enjoy for life. Racing is for everyone 😊
@@wilsonxci Thanks, it's without a doubt a rabbit hole that never ends and already a lot of fun. And great thing is it's something that can be easily shared.
As a sim racer, I love this. More sim racing content, please!
I've just finished my set up. Comprising of Trak Racer TR80 cockpit. With the Astek Invicta Wheel base, Astek Invicta Pedals and the Asetek Forte wheel. All I can say is wow. The DD wheelbase and hydraulic pedals are just amazing. So much feedback from the set up from the car. What a world of difference.
This would be a nice set up for twin flight sticks in Star Citizen. I'd love to see you guys play that game with this!
More of this, please! It's too expensive for me but this kind of stuff is awesome.
Installing the seat slider on my Sim-Lab P1-X was one of the worst experiences of my life. I can sympathize with the fun you had with your rig :D
This guy knows
Sorry to hear you shared that frustration but how nice is the P1X once it'd together!? Love my setup and admittedly I don't have any crazy hardware yet.
@@brwiser It's absolutely awesome and a fantastic rig. But man, that seat slider had me cursing :D I actually snapped one of the sliders, so Sim Lab had to send me a replacement.
I really want to build even a simple setup for my retired dad. He missed the road, used to drive for a public transport. Now he's enjoying life and I can't help but to see the hollow space inside him. I'm a man, and although I'm still active, I kinda get the gist of it for him.
Oh boy a microcenter ad! I can't wait to drive literally 5 hours for the closest one.
Big sim racer here, also. Love seeing this content from you. I know it can't be all the time but it is cool once in a while.
I'd definitely love more content like this, including flight sim stuff!:)
Love this Jay, we need more mixing of both your passions like this video
So glad I’m not the only one who stressed for hours putting this damn thing together
Would love to hear more about your guys' experiences with the wheel and rig overall after some hours have been put on it. Any thoughts on adding bass-shakers?
Would love to see you add the flights sim additions. Cool to see this
Sim racing is massive in the last two years. Built my pc’s watching this channel for sim racing. Have tested 10 different wheel base combos.
You guys are going to love that setup! Alpine is a step up from what I have. I have the TR8 Pro. I Love it. Fanatec DD2 and Heusinkveld Pedels. Just Awesome!!! Mounting the Steering wheel plate upside down!!! doing that right now. great idea!
This was awesome to see! We 100% want to see a video on the Moza systems. I have Fanatec rig now and been hearing a lot of good things about the new Moza setups. Keep the sim racing and flight videos coming!
Hi Chris, I've been thinking about getting a fanatec gt pro dd setup for ps5/gt7 VR..would you recommend or should I be looking at moza? Not familiar with moza offering.
the base is good but the wheels suck ass just pure plastic and fake look
@@aaabnsn Go for fanatec honestly
@@marijn17sthanks what would you recommend for ps5/gt7. Or should I be going down the pcvr route?
@@aaabnsn I’m not a 100% certain about the compatibility but i’ve heard great things about the Logitech DD and DD pro from Fanatec
As a avid sim racer in vr I would love to see a follow-up video of the pc specs & what vr headset you will be using & any tips on maximising a pc to get the best out of vr 😊
This is the one thing missing from the PC content creators.
vr is uncomfortable to eyes and cause eye pain and headaches
Now this is what I can get into. I love my racing SIM and any information on any way to tweak it and make it more realistic I am game
I've been heavily into Sim racing lately. I went with an aluminum extrusion rig because I plan on building a actuator motion system and it offers a ton of expansion capabilities. Moza is a really good entry into direct drive wheels. They've really taken over the market lately another good option is Cammus racing they offer a 15nm DD base for 500$ but they don't have a lot of US distribution yet so depending where you live the shipping can be expensive. The Sim racing community is really awesome and has an amazing DIY community. I've been unable to drive for a few years due to a medical condition and really missed track days but Sim racing has given me back so much and honestly saved my life. I'd love to see more sim content!
I am so jealous of you guys. I had to go g29 and mod the crap out of it, with an office chair frame.
Better then not having anything at all 😢
complaining about free products apparently is also part of the review. entitlement of 2023, look no further than RUclips. lax life, everything handed to you on a platter, real tough. wonder where i can deposit my paycheques to help out.
Trak Racer should have sent you a TR120 or TR160 chassis, which is 80/20 extrusion, super strong/stiff, I have the TR160 with triple 48" oleds on their triple monitor mount stand, and have a motion system on it, it is a very nice cockpit. I use a Simucube 2 Pro DD wheel, Simtrec pedals (just ordered simucube's new active pedal as well), BDH H Shifter etc.. I am a big sim racing and flight sim enthusiast :)
@@SuperBomars I had HE Ultimates on my old cockpit, excellent pedals too and great customer service. I do prefer the simtrec's though, they not only are beautiful they feel fantastic. :) And yeah, I am excited to get the active pedal! :)
Lmao I love how you opened up the video with “I LIKE CARS!”
Jay, you’ve been one of my favorite channels to watch since I got into PC gaming and system building 10 years ago. Keep up the great work!
You always keep it real and that’s what separates you from a lot of other channels
Yes please do a flying setup. One that can be done. As a spaceship setup as well. Thank you for posting this video.
As an addicted simracer I am super excited to see and follow where you go with this entire build as total noob and how you get on with some racing in iRacing. Can’t wait to see the PC you build this. Love this.
With Trak Racers inability to deliver products in a timely fashion, I would highly recommend steering clear of this company.
jay.. i am fasting right now but my mouth is watering seeing this rig!! as a cheapy simracer with DIY table and stuff, that kind of adjustment is absolute dream!!
Now we need more space/flight sim reviews...need em Jay style though. 😂
I appreciate the warning about the knees. I too am 6 foot 4, and the banging of the knees in my old race car and current Impala is definitely an issue when getting into and out of basically any vehicle, but especially the smaller vehicles with less room all around to move and manipulate your body getting in and out.
Awesome! Seeing some flight sim rig stuff on the channel would be cool, with all the new hardware that is available now, especially for combat flight simming
Yay! Thanks so much for showing this. While I understand that for you this channel might be more about the technology you showcase, for many of us it's about you and the guys. I feel OK speaking for many of us by saying we'd really enjoy seeing more of what you enjoy.
I'd personally love to see you looking at your favorite racing SOFTWARE, too. :)
I just finished building my Next Level Racing F-GT and I'm super impressed with the quality vs price. (For those that can't afford to climb the TRX Alpine cliff.) It all comes in one box and is rigid as all hell when properly built.
I don’t even like racing games, but I’m seeing how easily I could go down the rabbit hole of videos like this…
Like imagine if Jay had LMG-levels of resources and went to absolute town modifying this thing to be like an actual car seat…
I have just placed everything on my wish list. Will be getting the entire setup here for myself. Thank you for the review ! 🔥
seeing that rig melts my heart,my dream is to have one of those. lovely to see sim racing stuff on this channel.
We are asking for it Jay! DO IT, GIVE US MORE VIDEOS ABOUT THIS!!!
I reviewed a slight different rig from Track Racer (TR80 Gen1 here on RUclips), roughly 3 years ago... Still the same issues with missing hardware to put things together.. No manuals back then.
However, when I got it all finally built, the rig is great.
Great video thanks for sharing!!
That’s sick guys! I just built mine up back in November!
Hey jay im new to ur chanel u have amazing content in 2 weeks iv watch 10 hours of content keep doing what u do brother man
Hell yes Jay. After this video I pulled out the dusty htc vive pro and set it up for KY Sim racing setup. Took me like 4 hours to setup buy I got it done. Great feeling taking turns at max speed.
Glad you guys are doing this. I have recently decided to start allocating funds over the next 6 to 12 months to build a vr racing sim. One of the things besides vr that is making it so exciting is the steering wheels and pedal advancements i’ve been seeing lately. Really pumped to do this. Wish I had an extra $3000 or $4000 laying around right now. I’d start now if so! Lol
welcome to the part of being a Sim Racer. Building your rig
Such a missed thumbnail opportunity, you could have easily had you or Nick as a Ninja turtle 🤣🤣🤣
I would love to see more sim racing content! I purchased my first sim rig this past Black Friday. Then decided to build my first pc for said rig (upgrading from Xbox) at the beginning of this year. Couldn’t be happier about that decision.
I've been waiting for this video for years . I remember the ol abutto rig but never saw any racing content . Hopefully we getting see some racing content !
Jay going full "I LIKE TURTLES" mode in the intro
Cool good to see your SIM hobby coming along nicely.
This is literally the video I needed and never knew I wanted!!! 😍
I'm gonna say it, the correct side of the road is the left and there are clear reasons... manual transmition cars- the gear stick is operated with the left hand which leaves your right hand on the wheel (makes sense for majority), additionally most people are right eye dominant which means your right eye is seeing oncoming traffic.
Yesssss was waiting on this video to come out been wanting to upgrade my g27 garbo stuff
Jay's on the giant side like me. 197cm myself and I felt that comment about bumping knees on any car I drive. Also, the ad in the middle of the video is a better idea than an ad at the start of the video. The transition was smooth and the chances of me skipping it are very slim. Shout-out to Phill and Nick! Great work all around! Cheers!
I would love to see this complete build! I’m also curious about the PC and which CPU/GPU combo works best for triple 1440p set up.
I'm watching this, sitting in my Trak Racer Tr8 Pro lol it's kinda surreal seeing you do sim racing content. I can attest to the manual and assembly being a bit of a bear. QA is definitely lacking in a big way with TR products, from my anecdotal experience and what I see online. I had issues, missing stuff, bolts cross-threaded from factory, etc. Got it all together and I love the dang thing though. There is so much adjustability that I've slowly been realizing how I originally set it up was like way off, and I've had to flip things around, adjust a bunch and undo all my blunders, either from me being dumb or the manual being hazy. It's really nice though, and I am just so happy about how it ended up.
KEEP DOING SIM RACING CONTENT IT'S RAD!!
PS the slider bar on mine went in exactly how it went for you🤣
Please do more on the sim racing rig. I want to build one myself, and your videos have helped immensely in building my PC recently.
I like this content :)! As someone new to sim racing and have all the same moza equipment!
I got a Mazda RX-8 seat from a junkyard and used that, in my rig. With a tiny pit of modification you can usually get any real world seat you like and use that.
Fun seeing sim racing here. I would for sure love seeing more sim content!
11:48 😂the nosies f1 pew pew upshift 😂😂
I got my 8020 Aluminum Profile rig from Trak Racer. I'm glad to see you build one yourself!!
The Sim Racing market has been amazing. Hope you play iracing!
I bought a cheapo wheel about a month and a half ago thinking I'd rarely if ever use it, and next thing I knew I was three grand deep into a DD wheel and full on rig and using VR for the first time ever. It's such an amazing hobby.
Haha i've watched the beginning twice 😂 loved it! I like cars too bro i feel you on that one
I'd love to see some space sim stuff on this channel too! Great review Jay!
fantastic honest review that also included a build difficulty section :D
Definitely need more of the Sim Racing and Sim Flight set ups!!
I have the TR 180 for 6 months now and its a real solid rig. Handles my sc2pro no ploblem 😊
If you have a choice between the gt seat and the rally take the rally seat more sturdier not as much flex if you like heavy braking ❤
I've ordered from Trak Racer several times before. They regularly swap out hardware (probably dependent on where they can source them from cheapest) so you'll see bolts, nuts, washers etc. that are different from what's in the manual (even literally two of the same part number in the same order). That said I'm pretty happy with them as build quality is high with good pricesplus they are local so the cheap shipping still only takes a day or two.
Man. You guys get to have SOOOOO much fun
I'm not into racing at all, but it's still fun to see you three have fun with it!
More videos on the Sim setup. I’d like to see more of this content also. You look so happy with it 😅. I’m looking to get a sim setup soon so this is exciting to see. Sorry the engine block build computer didn’t workout. I may still try to do something like that myself.
please do a full review of this sim rig. i always like your take on stuff, and your thoughts always matter when i purchase my stuff. thanks guys!
TR8-Pro w/ Fanatec DD1 as well. Mounted hotas and tablets all over mine, along with the wheel/pedals. Loving it. Make more sim racing content.
Would love seeing more videos like this
Have the TR80 lite. Came in from 3 different carriers FedEx, ups and that yellow one. Rocking the Fanatec DDPro setup and love it. Definitely had to get the upgraded cup spot wheel setup since it doesn’t feel like a toy.
Phil's immitation of a f1 car was actually spot on.
We need a boat sailing sim rig so Jay can say I love boats the whole vid🤣
Love this! Great to see some sim content
Thank you for doing this properly. It may not be everyone's primary game category, but this does sim racing much more justice than another recently hacked channel.
Really glad that you got the Moza gear, been a huge fan of their products and I am sure you will enjoy it!
"I like boats!", "I like cars!"... I like when Jayz likes... 😄
More sim racing content please. I would love to see how you get the best VR performance with the racing sims. It’s a hot topic in the community
Love this, more sim stuff please!!
Jay, I only knew you as a computer man, THEN I stumbled across your car channel. OM GOD! You have some real serious artillery! ❤
never in my life was i envious of a another mans stuff until i started sim racing
loving the sim racing stuff on the channel
