- I’ve always enjoyed trekking across the galaxy trading and fighting my way to fame and fortune in the worlds of X Gold and Elite Dangerous, but when No Mans Sky was announced, the sheer scope and scale dwarfed both the latter titles’ ambitions in delivering the galaxy. While the initial launch of No Mans Sky fell somewhat short, the game has evolved in leaps and bounds due to the staggering support and further development from Hello Games.

I keep forgetting that underwater base building and exploration is a thing. This game is insanely huge!
I got sidetracked for weeks, making a stasis device factory. There's soooo much to do!
Is it as good as subnautica on switch? Cuz I thought I would hate that based on the demo but I love that game now so much n it's making me want to play this now lol I went back tried it on Xbox and the controls threw me off lol
@DJdeliverance It's not as deep (no pun intended) as Sub Nautica but they added entire Ocean-based planets with lots of water-based aliens/animals and resources with underwater caves to explore with submersible vehicles and base-building.
It's 1000% more than what Starfield does with water/water planets

Such a love/ hate with this game over the years but the team at HelloGames have done so well. Now I need it on Switch…
They didn't deserve the hate at launch. Sure it was bare but still an okay game. They definitely deserve the love with how much they have changed this game. It's incredible!

Hahahah. You won't regret it, especially when the new Echoes update drops in the near future. They are overhauling the rendering making the game look better and run smoother!

The Witcher was running almost perfectly, and after the last update its now a bug festival. No ambient sound...frame drops.
I'll be doing a comparison video when it drops so hopefully that helps make the decision
The echoes update is for some reason not on no man's sky on my switch
Hello Games have submitted it and it's undergoing the certification with Nintendo. I think we should see if in 72 hours. Last time there was a major update, it was about 7 days behind the other consoles. I'll post an update here when it goes live. I also have A graphic comparison video going up on launch too so stay tuned!
I have this game for the ps4 and now Switch, but it's so big and complex it's daunting for me, I've never got very far with either version. Do you have any advice for a new player?
Absolutely! The best part about this game is you can do what you want. I would start by finding a planet you like to build a base with a teleporter, or if it's still active, start the expedition to give you a head start. I'm always down to chat about NMS so if you have any questions let me know.
do you know if some day crosssave is possible? i have this game on ps5 and switch but cannot play my savegame on both system :(
Might be on the cards in the future but not as yet. I would love to play my Switch save on my series X in the future
Getting a steam deck is the best of both worlds. Getting all the features + amazing graphics in the form of a handheld
My good friend has a Steam deck and it looks great!
Do you think no man's sky will ever be cross play multiplayer because my little brother had bought the game thinking we'd be able to go on adventures together but to only be disappointed to find out that there's no multiplayer on switch 😢
Every other version is cross play and multiplayer so I would say "never say never!"
I would even love cross save so I could take my Switch save across to the Xbox version when I game at home. Hopefully you and your bro are flying as wingmen in the future!
Well I could just play in the same room n it would be about as fun as the mp in this game actually is 🤣 it feels like we're all just in our own room playing our own game not connected even when in the same game with 3ppl it felt alone so I'm thinking it might actually be even better without other players to distract lol it's a lot like subnautica but I like that game better slightly

I would have bet on never, but I think anything is possible with the continued support Hello Games are giving the game.
I loved the game on my pc but due to the long load times and major fps drops, I find myslef not as inclined to play it but considering that it is 50% off on switch for new years sales right now I'm 100% gonna buy it for switch and play more.
I fell back in love with the game on the Switch release. It's not 100% perfect but it's so well done on handheld.

I kinda cant believe this runs on switch. Thats crazy and i guess im going to buy it for the third console.
It's even better since the Echoes Update. They made the graphics sharper while increasing performance
I'd say 90% is a bit rich of a score personally. mircale work aside the glaring performance issue ARE present. but regardless with the game being off a healthy chunk, having rediscovered my love for Dark Souls 1 playing it on essentially a handheld, and your review have convinced me to make the purchase.
there's an unexplanable itch for space exploration games that I can take into the bathroom with me. tyvm
Sometimes I rethink on my scores and wish I could adjust them, but this one is one I'm happy to stand by. I do appreciate your point of view though, The Echoes update was certainly a game changer performance-wise. Have you started the Omega Expedition?
@@whatsitlikeau I do not even know what an expedition is 😅 I just started the game flew between a few planets landed on a planet with high sentinal alert where the marker told me to go and started building a base
When you get into Space, press down to summon the nexus, once there you can start the expedition and get some awesome items!

Do you need a Nintendo Online account to play expeditions and online content?
The game doesn't require Nintendo Switch Online at all to play so you can do the latest expedition as soon as the Echoes update drops!

I have NMS on PS5 but i cant play the console right now because i am currently not at home, and wont be for a while. I am intending to buy NMS for Switch, is it complete? All dlc included? Is it missing some content comparing with ps version? Thanks.
There are some minor differences, mainly settlements missing, and mulitplayer still in the works, but apart from that it's a great port of an amazing game!
Did settlements get added into the Switch version?
Not yet, but they have made certain quests not require them.

You need to completely finish the Artemis quest, visit a sentinel camp on dissonant systems and do the trace of metal which requires you to have a settlement. When not being able to have a settlement you need to warp at least 20 times. After that you must be able to unlock echoes on the switch. This is what I have discovered so far regarding the switch. Am on a PC and I had to complete the aforementioned missions all 3 before I was able to unlock the echoes on PC....

Like elite dangerous and subnautica had a baby with mine craft in space. Or is a lot like just subnautica in space lol between that and elite ya got it mine craft actually fits less than subnautica is a perfect comparison
It's all of them mixed with Star Wars and a healthy dose of exploration too!

That's a lot for me lol I like to spend under 10 bucks on games if I can always wait on sale but this 1 didn't happen that often n it's usually the same only half off. I didn't like it on Xbox cuz controls and the mp felt like useless in such a massive game everyone so far away beside a few events in the game. But other then that iv still got it on Xbox so IDK I can do that I felt like this maybe lot of fun as a single player game which it might I just don't know how well the switch can handle it lol.
It's one of my favourite games and it's currently on sale so I say yes, but it's not different from the Xbox version so if you've played it before you might not like it.

Bought this game when it first came out, then sold it for almost nothing because it was so poor. Now they fix it. Nintendo and the devs are sorry for allowing games to be released like that.
