Skyrim for Switch was updated this morning to Ver. 1.1.177.3285177 and the issues are officially fixed. FPS has returned to normal in the bad places like Riften, and the game seems to no longer crash upon Freezing to Death in Survival Mode.
Even after I do this update, sure, fps is buttery smooth like before the AE update on Switch... But I get nothing but crashes. Every 2 fast travels I get a crash. It makes me not wanna do any sidequest or walk around in areas for too long. It's horrible.
Yea, well how about not releasing it in the first place??? Man fuck Bethesda. Despite the new updates, the game is over a fucking decade old. This should've been so optimized that it's running with 60FPS capped on switch at this point.
Thanks so much, I never would have known that the survival mode was added even without the upgrade, now I get to start enjoying it tonight. I love playing with immersion and already didn't fast travel much, time for fun!
Thank you for actually talking about the content! I'm so tired of looking for someone that actually says what's in the update instead of just complaining about how every game is going to cost $70 now.
If tears of the kingdom or some other brand new releases costs $70, then it’s time to panic, but this? I’ve seen the deluxe 2k games for more than $60 and nobody talked about it, I don’t see how this is much different.
That being said; I still have no idea about the stupid infamously broken on switch Meridias Beacon quest. That's not something I'm willing to check because it will crash every freaking single time
Can we petition Fallout 4 on Switch guys? We get Skyrim. No Fallout yet tho. Still waiting. Lol. I'd love to play Fallout 4 on the go. Come on where are Fallout fans? :D ^^
I think it’d be amazing, but that engine might be a bit much for the switch tbh. All of the switch remasters look like ps3/xbox 360 era (red dead, GTA trilogy, Skyrim, etc). I think New Vegas or 3 or both would be more reasonable and achievable tbh.
@@Radbiker33357 We got Switch ports of Hogwarts Legacy, Doom Eternal, No Man's Sky, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Dying Light: Platinum Edition, Persona 5 Royal, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and lots of other huge games like those. Plus the Nintendo Switch port of Skyrim is actually based on the Special Edition released on PS4/Xbox One, which runs on the Fallout 4 engine. So I doubt Fallout 4 would be that much of a hassle to put on the Switch. But yeah, I'd also love to see Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas get Switch ports as well. I just think Fallout 4 would probably be the easiest for them to port over without messing around with the engine/coding too much.
Ive got the anniversary version for XBX, PS5, the special edition for Xbox, Legendary editions on PS3 & 360, vanilla 360, & legendary version for PC...I just got an oled switch so what do you think my next game is going to be...? 😁
Supposedly it's the abundance of mods that is causing the framerate stuttering. You could try disabling the one's you don't really use to try and get better performance.
I thought of that, but like the other guy said, you can't disable individual CC Content packs on Switch. We need to wait for Bethesda to optimize it a little more, particularly in the places that the additional content actually adds things to.
Shows you the switch is just weak as hell when can't handle some armor mods which make up 90% of cc content.CC content doesn't make any visual changes at all but switch is weak as hell to handle some mods and switch users want more mods???
I own Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Xbox Series X and my Xbox One S, but I might get a Switch this Christmas or my birthday in November. If I do, should I get this for Switch because the idea of playing Skyrim on the go is enticing. What do you ppl think? (also was considering Minecraft for the same reason)
The game itself has a list of all the stuff included in the Anniversary Edition. There's more than 70 new additions to the game, so I imagine that's why they didn't list them all on the eShop page.
@@TheVioletBunny I play it on Steam Deck, plays great. Way better than the Switch can that's for sure. You Nintendo fanboys are hilarious. You have the worst version of Skyrim. Deal with it.

There’s no clickbait, what are you talking about. Here in the UK it’s £60 if you don’t own the standard edition or £18 if you want the upgrade. Cash grabbing Bethesda style.
I was disappointed that they eliminated the creation club content section but I am not totally unhappy with this update. It's still adding to Skyrim at the end of the day. I sold my original switch 3 years ago and had Skyrim back then but I remember having access to Creation club back then on Skyrim for the Switch.
Creation Club was never on the Nintendo Switch, only PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. I've owned the Switch version for as long as I've owned a Switch (since 2018), and the Anniversary Edition is the first time any of this stuff was ever on there. And even if Creation Club _was_ on there before (which I know for a fact that it wasn't), the Anniversary Edition includes all 74 Creations in one convenient package.
I have just the free update and I don't have those frame drops in those areas so maybe the graphics aren't the cause? Trust me, I am hyper sensitive to drops and can see a drop of 1 frame and there are no drops for me.
Might be if you purchase the 20$ dlc i have the dlc’s and there are some frame rate issues that weren’t there. But the update alone of the survival and fishing work like a charm at first it all happend after it installed the dlc
@@mattiskingno problem, just picked it up myself & there's definitely a slight improvement to graphics & lighting/colors of the world & npc/gears/buildings etc. + all the new Gear/Weapons/items/spells/quests ect. for $12 it's good pick up 💯

When I bought the Anniversary Edition for the Switch I was surprised to see I got around the entire Creation Club as well. I don't think the 70 dollar/euro bundle is expensive expensive.
Unfortunately i had to delete the anniversary add-on because of the frame drop. "Sigh" goodbye Elemental Spells and Backpacks you will be missed. At least I have my Fishing still. That's legit fun, especially with the unique item you can fish up.
Okay I'm a mom of a game player and I want to become more involved in my child's interests and I'm picking up little by little. So is this whole game first play ( I hope I'm saying that correct, cause I can't see the full body like Zelda)? And what is the very first game for Elder Scroll? I want to start from the beginning so I can know what to say and how to understand what's going on. Oh and thank you to anyone willing to help a mother out.
"First person" view for the most part, yes. However you can switch into third person as well, but it's not very practical (press left analog stick to do that). The first Elder Scrolls game would be Elder Scrolls: Arena, which released in the mid 90s on PC. It's not really necessary though to play earlier titles in the series.
I never beaten it before but I’ve played the original on the 360 when it first dropped and the hype was at an all time high …surprisingly I didn’t really get into it as I was trying to, but on the switch Oled, idk why I missed out, the games amazing and playing it on the go seems like a fever dream sometimes when I actually get into and realize I’m doing all of this in a game …on a handheld console lol an this is someone who started with a gameboy advance from their parents as a Christmas gift, the game is so worth it for the switch atleast if you have an Oled it looks super clean still and “acceptable” as In you’re not going to get a pc performance with solid 60fps but if you grew up without that most of your childhood this seems like going back to like early 2010’s lol
If you only played the Xbox 360 version before this, you'll be in for a pleasant surprise with all the new stuff they added into the Anniversary Edition. Just don't expect anything on par with the expansions from the Legendary Edition like Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn. They do have their limitations. For one thing, none of the Creation Club DLCs add any new voice acting, instead recycling pre-existing voice clips that were already in the data files, and relying on things like written notes to do the rest. Sure it's weird and not very immersive, but it's not that different from most of the minor DLCs from Oblivion, like Fighter's Stronghold and Vile Lair. Besides, Bethesda apparently put restrictions on including more voice acting. Maybe they just didn't want you to run into an NPC who sounded like their voice was coming out of a cheap microphone.
Sorry for commenting so much but this patch would have been absolutely perfect if they would have included the open cities mod! I was really hoping they'd include it. Load screens are aggravating
The Nintendo Switch version doesn’t have the same mod support as the Xbox and even PlayStation versions, but the Anniversary Edition does include all the stuff that was available in Creation Club on those platforms.
I'm just loving how straightforward you are with this since some videos like you said are just clickbait who doesn't actually address my concerns for FPS
They’re sold at each keep’s general shops like Belethor in Whiterun. They’re not always there, though. I had to pass a few days before he had one to sell me.
AMAZING STUPIDITY: I'm amazed that when Skyrim came out for the Switch, that people were shocked that it ran the game well. WTF? They're shocked that a system with MUCH more RAM, and MUCH better GPU can run an old game like Skyrim? When it was originally released on WEAKER platforms? Do people thing that Switch was only designed to run 1980's Donkey Kong or something? LOL! I mean sure, it's annoying it's only in 900p on Switch, but to think that Switch would have a difficult time running an old school game like this is the height of ignorance!!!
See that’s nice and all, but it still runs it at the same frame rate of 30 with slightly better resolution. But yeah I agree, literally anything can run Skyrim
So, I had to partially complete some quests to manage it, and this can be done with Vanilla Skyrim. Doesn't have to be Anniversary or Modded. My setup is that I have Illia as my follower. I have Serana following me because the "Chasing Echoes" Quest for Serana is in the middle of the quest when you are to "Enter the Soul Cairn" but instead of finishing the quest, you just leave the area and she is stuck following you. I did the same for the ghost Katria. Her quest, Lost to the Ages, I have at the "Solve the Tonal Lock" part where she follows you to just go through her dungeon but you can just leave and she will leave with you. This way, Serana and Katria cannot do followers things like swap inventory, but they will all follow you and all fight enemies with you.

I cannot enter the northern holds because my game crashes whenever I get near a snowstorm. Every time.
when i play on survival mode when i fast travel to a snowy area or enter riften my game crashes
I hope they correct the luminance. The switch version is too dark comparing to the Xbox and PS4 versions.
Currently on sale 😁😁😁 10/26/22
Its on sale right now! 14.99 (5 days left)
*Can any physical copy Skyrim switch owners confirm you can buy the creation club mods and run the hard copy? Or do I have to buy the entire thing digital?*
i wanna know the same thing. However currently my special edition is updating.
I have physical, got the update, it's a 7 gb, it's all included can't turn any off can't download more, survival is the only thing that you can turn off or on, but it's game breaking, took me 30 min of playing and looking online to figure it out, game doesn't really tell you much, it says to Check the help menu, but help menu has no info on add on content, all info is in the installed content section of the settings,
Physical is better seeing as you have the option to delete the update and play off the chip, making it nice and smooth again
@@jameslindemann8812 I have the physical copy, bought the anniversary edition update, I'm not getting any dropped frames whatsoever, also when the prompt to turn off survival mode popped up I shut it off, hasn't negatively affected the game at all so far. Your comment is a couple days old now so it's possible they patched it since you commented this
@@xymoriintus try survival mode, I understand not having it is feasible, but I want survival
Just to be sure, that means I can do all the new quests etc on my old safe file. I don't need to make a new character and start over?
Correct. You can do it all on your old file. All the footage of the new quests in this review are from a save I originally made back in 2020.
@@Reviews2Go Ok. Thank you for answering ✨😊
That's very good to know
what i want to know is does this thing fix missing in action?
Is it worth the 20$ on Switch? I haven‘t played the anniversary edition on any other platform aswell… but hundrets of hours on Skyrim.
You can still mod it on Xbox s, right?? Haven’t bought it, yet.
I can't start March of the dead quest
Snagged for $50 CAD, decent deal to always have Skyrim on hand and excellent looking on the OLED
There’s no clickbait, what are you talking about. Here in the UK it’s £60 if you don’t own the standard edition or £18 if you want the upgrade. Cash grabbing Bethesda style.
He lacks basic comprehension, I don’t get how you can be positive about the price and spin it that way
Did they add any mods for the vampire or werewolf race
I bought the upgrade but I have a question, can I play the vanilla version without any mods??
Only if you believe hard enough
is the paralysis spell and the cure paralysis spell in this version?
I’m just sad I still can’t marry Serana.
Anybody else having trouble with the game crashing when it gets too cold?
Thank you so much for pointing out how vloggers are taking advantage of the $70 price drama. --- I'll still buy it
I was disappointed that they eliminated the creation club content section but I am not totally unhappy with this update.
Is there any way to turn off specific add-ons?
I don’t think so. They’re all just turned on when the update/dlc installs.
Can’t believe after putting off this game these years I’ll finally play this game.. in 720p..
So would you say it's worth buying?
Yep
@@despia_009 ok thanks!
@@mattiskingno problem, just picked it up myself & there's definitely a slight improvement to graphics & lighting/colors of the world & npc/gears/buildings etc. + all the new Gear/Weapons/items/spells/quests ect. for $12 it's good pick up 💯
@@mattisking also runs @ a locked fps of 30 even in the bigger cities
@@despia_009 ok thanks! I bought it late last night bcz Nintendo has a massive sale on it and was kinda worried but decided to pull the trigger and I've barely put the controller down
When I bought the Anniversary Edition for the Switch I was surprised to see I got around the entire Creation Club as well.
Do come back
I never beaten it before but I’ve played the original on the 360 when it first dropped and the hype was at an all time high …surprisingly I didn’t really get into it as I was trying to, but on the switch Oled, idk why I missed out, the games amazing and playing it on the go seems like a fever dream sometimes when I actually get into and realize I’m doing all of this in a game …on a handheld console lol an this is someone who started with a gameboy advance from their parents as a Christmas gift, the game is so worth it for the switch atleast if you have an Oled it looks super clean still and “acceptable” as In you’re not going to get a pc performance with solid 60fps but if you grew up without that most of your childhood this seems like going back to like early 2010’s lol
Maybe they just didn't want you to run into an NPC who sounded like their voice was coming out of a cheap microphone.
i find it kinda odd you got frame drops in riften i havent yet
Sorry for commenting so much but this patch would have been absolutely perfect if they would have included the open cities mod! I was really hoping they'd include it. Load screens are aggravating
open cities mod.. do you want your switch to blow up??
Lil bro you need a pc if you want mods like that. You’re not running open cities with the minimal processing power of the switch
Am I missing any mods by going for the switch version over ps4
While the PlayStation versions have very limited mods it’s still better than the switch having none whatsoever so yes
The Nintendo Switch version doesn’t have the same mod support as the Xbox and even PlayStation versions, but the Anniversary Edition does include all the stuff that was available in Creation Club on those platforms.
Why do I need this 😭. Also why does it run so well?
Finally an honest review
Just picked it up for 35 bucks on the eshop with the game. Good price
I'm just loving how straightforward you are with this since some videos like you said are just clickbait who doesn't actually address my concerns for FPS
Did bathesda fixed the frame drops?
Yes
I was really enjoying playing the new download, as from today it keeps crashing
I dunno why I'm watching this. I've owned it for years.
Downloaded the minute I saw it. Love it.
Same bro love this game
Can you add this to the physical copy of the game??
@@xymoriintus yes
I have it on Pc but switch has been growing on me. Gonna pick it up the last day it’s on sale
5:18 is soo bad. Definitely gonna wait for them to fix the performance, then I'll wait for a price drop lol
Diez this fix the old glitches?
Where are the backpacks?
They’re sold at each keep’s general shops like Belethor in Whiterun. They’re not always there, though. I had to pass a few days before he had one to sell me.
I hope they separate the hylian tunic to 4 piece, also the headgear make it an earring.
Honestly. I think this version of skyrim is most worth it on switch cause there's no mod support normally.
I bought Skyrim anniversary edition and it won’t download!!
Edit: I only have the normal version, even with the updated color of the dragon emblem!!
AMAZING STUPIDITY:
I'm amazed that when Skyrim came out for the Switch, that people were shocked that it ran the game well.
How do you have multiple followers ?
This is huge for Skyrim on the Switch since you dont have acces to Mods
