I literally had the same thought the game seemed a bit more choppy than I recalled but it’s been so long it’s hard to know for sure. Regardless, still love the game and appreciate the updates but another patch would be amazing. I play with AA off and Sharpening on high, definitely the best setting on switch IMO.
2:39 The hair! xD I actually used this review to choose if I'd buy Witcher 3 for switch, already had it on PC. All the things said here are spot on. I just started this game and enjoying it alot. I got a physical copy a month a more ago for a great deal unaware this huge update was coming just in time from beating Pikmin 4.

I noticed this bug right after updating, because I had the normal music turned down, and my game was just ... eerily silent.
I noticed that if you have the aard mutation to freeze and use it in a fight the games framerate drops really bad. It didn't do that before this patch.
I’ve been bored after work lately so I reinstalled Witcher 3 and immediately came to your channel to see what’s been happening in the updates for the game. I absolutely LOVE this game and initially played it on Xbox One. The switch is definitely lacking in visuals but I find I’m over all that now…I enjoy the game either way. Thanks man!

It's kind of magic to get this on the Switch, with what is essentially a chipset from a 2015 android tablet. I did complete it on the console... But playing it in handheld, found it unplayable on the TV due to the graphical and performance cutbacks being laid bare on the big screen.
Ah Glad you pointed this out here, I noticed this bug 10 minutes before I watched your previous video about the update... Hopefully they'll get this fixed soon
I just got done playing through and i counted 6 full conversations without audio and dozens of areas with absolutely no sound. Pretty crazy if you ask me.
And I thought I was crazy! I knew there were some performance issues with the "next gen" update.. I noticed 3-4 fps drop on average, which might not sound like much, but when you have got only 30of them, it can be quite tough😂
Performance is definitely worse. Before the patch it was solid 30, barely any drops to like 27, 28 or 25 at the worst of times. Definitely wasn't hovering around 20.
I'm so glad I watched this video. I've legit hesitated to jump into Witcher 3 despite having the complete edition on both PS4 and Switch. Now I know that they've added cross progression. I can play on PS5 on my tv and Switch in handheld. I don't have to choose, it's the best of both worlds!
This game is soooo good, personally it's my number 1. Can't wait until the next installment comes out. A remake of witcher 2 would be nice as well. And to think, I almost gave up on it, 20 hours in. Luckily I pushed on😅... probably 500hrs deep now.
I gave up on it probably ten hours in the fighting mechanics seemed off or maybe hard or clunky that's why I dropped it but I hear so many good things about it and I like the universe of witcher. I just tried to buy it at Walmart but they don't have it I'll have to wait until GameStop opens
Thanks for the video! As soon as the Switch version patch came out allowing cloud saves I downloaded a copy on Xbox Series X during the sale they had for a few days for the Complete Edition. It's amazing playing on XSX at my desk at 4k 60 fps and then moving over to the Switch version when I'm traveling. @@tecstalinramirez I think it might. Do you have the game for both platforms? You'll need to create a GOG account first which will allow cloud saving. Witcher 3 on Switch is already wildly impressive and it feels unfair asking for *more* features, but as DOS2 and a lot of first party games have surround sound I wonder if adding that would be accessible here or if it would balloon the file size even more than it already is
Only played this on the Switch (so I'm not comparing it to other versions) and it IS really impressive But it's a game I've struggled to fall in love with... about three times I've got 20 hrs in or so, and just kind of stopped and played something else. Gonna give it another try though!
I really recommend you give it another try. Played this game on Xbox and just couldn't get into it. It was on sale on day for the switch so I gave it another go and absolutely fell in love with the game. I think I logged something like 200 to 250 hours into it on the switch after not really being a big fan on the Xbox. I think the portable aspect of it aloud me to play it anywhere I wanted and then and only then I found out what an amazing game it was. And the DLC's are amazing themselves

I'm so happy with the next gen update finally coming to the switch! I do still miss the new option to adjust the camera perspective to a more over the shoulder style, like the one you see when activating the witcher sense. For as far as I know, it hasn't made it to the switch release. I was also secretly hoping for a graphic preset, to easily change the post processing between handheld and docked mode (instead of fiddling with the options each time you change game style) but maybe that's for patch 5.0 😉
Great Stuff, as always! This puts me at ease about the Switch port for Mortal Kombat 1. There’s only one Panic Button so it’s nice that Saber really hammers these games to a shine. I’m glad I got the full version of the _Switcher 3_ recently.

I can go from smoking a cigarette and playing on my Switch in the garage to picking up my game on my gaming PC in the time it takes to walk across the house to my bedroom. I wish every game have you the option, because I never touch the PC anymore... Always on my Switch!
Can't believe you didn't rant about the lack of ambient sounds, I noticed it was highlighted on screen shortly. That's an absolute deal breaker for me!! I'm currently doing another Witcher 3 play through on PS5 since I just got my PS5 (played it first on switch) and I had to take a little break because I'm at like 120 hours right now and still in Skellige😅 I love this game but it's just such an overwhelming amount of content that is hard to stay on this one game for the entirety of it lol
You can link your save to your GOG account without buying Witcher 3 on GOG, I own W3 on Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Switch and am able to carry my save between all without owning the actual GOG version of the game :)
@@satanamogila9251 because I bought it on Xbox One at launch, wanted it for PS5 since it had cross save, got it on PC from a humble bundle, and got it for switch out of morbid curiosity. I don’t tell you how to live lol
I have the game on PC and every console. Currently playing on series X. Feels great in 60fps mode. Can’t go back to 30 now. It’s still a great game. Like Skyrim it’s a game worth coming back to again and again.
It's crazy because Asassin's Creed Black Flag and Elder Scrolls look REALLY GREAT in handheld (especially on OLED), and in my experience, no frame rate drops, a solid 30FPS the whole way through. Not sure why they can't get this one right.
Id just started replaying through this not long before this update and now I've gotta pause again until they sort this out. Im glad they brought over the new stuff, but you'd think this is something that would be caught in the process. Hopefully they get it squashed pretty soon. Otherwise is there a way to go back to the last version?
You can erase the content for Witcher 3 from your switch, that will delete the patch and go back to 1.0 if you want to find the previous one, you can't. your only hope is to align your switch on another one that hasn't updated the game. The only easy way would be to grab the previous patch and install it through homebrew, which requires a hacked switch.
@@Rytom Well I imagine the patch is around the corner. I don't see them releasing such a big update and not fix such a small but extremely noticeable issue as quick as they can.
Finally somebody talking about this. I was actually on my first playthrough of this game, on switch, when they launched this patch and the game ended up worse than before. Specially the ambient sound, that suddenly disappeared, and the game seems too silent now, kind of empty.
I completely forgot this was coming. I was late to the Witcher party, but really liked being able to swap back and forth between PC and Switch, and I was bummed when the Next Gen update wasn't cross save compatible. I'll have to fire it back up again.
Hey SwitchUp fam!! Nice to get a good review of the update for the switch version. I'll get back to playing this someday. I think I was halfway to two-thirds of the way through the main quest line when I put it down.
I can’t believe I’m just now learning about this!!!!!
Seems like it works great for such a huge game on the switch. Thank you dev for not forgetting the switch .
Pretty cool because I just ordered the big box can't wait thanks switchup!
If you wear that rewarded armor (from the thumbnail), the load times get way, way longer
Hope I can prevent this update from happening until it's patched! Such a classic game!
Already played 695 hours on switch, plan to replay will next Gen switch available, but my most played games is Skyrim which 1990 hours.
Wow the "come on roach" was amazing! Really sounded perfect!
I think i need to change my glass
Cross-platform saves work really well!
Total lack of immersion! literally can't handle playing without them sounds. It's like playing a boxing game with the crowd noise taken away.
What possessed them?
I'd made the video and was playing and suddenly noticed so it got added to the start and end :)
Something I read was not in this version was the optional camera zooms, but I haven't booted up the game to check if that's true.
You can link your save to your GOG account without buying Witcher 3 on GOG, I own W3 on Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Switch and am able to carry my save between all without owning the actual GOG version of the game :)
Yes indeed I discovered this a couple of days back! Glorious! Mark
Why would you own the same game on 4 different platforms?
And then people get surprised when Skyrim releases for the millionth time
@@satanamogila9251 because I bought it on Xbox One at launch, wanted it for PS5 since it had cross save, got it on PC from a humble bundle, and got it for switch out of morbid curiosity. I don’t tell you how to live lol
Played this a while ago and got to the Griffon. I wouldn’t mind starting anew
I really appreciate the patch update videos I cannot wait to log in and get all them rewards ‼️
Pretty cool how they took the time, money and effort to update the Switch version this much continually, even years on.
You guys are making me want to play this game again man. But my Witcher 3 is on my now deceased ps4. Ughhh!! 😅
CDPR owns and runs GOG, so I guess that is why cross save is limited to that launcher.
Ahhhhh that makes a whole lot of sense. Mark
You don't need the launcher at all. Just an account at their website and to log in with that account inside The Witcher 3.
i love that they went through the effort to do this, they didnt really have any incentive to do so. the differences at the end is huge!
Thx for this. This is sooooo timely. I am trying to find a game to play atm and I was thinking about re-starting TW3. :)
And they didn't include the 'close camera angle' for Geralt on the Switch. I've been wanting that feature for a long time!
I played the base game, seems now is a perfect time to update on switch and kick of the dlc. Thank you for the updates as always guys
Where was 20 around 30 was there, and Leonardo da Vinci approved that any above 26 look as motion in our mind
Havent picked the game up yet might have to with it being on sale great vid lads
I got the digital version 2 years ago when the complete edition was $20, I barely started the game. Gonna be playing more now
FYI they dropped another update and fixed the sound.
Playing this with the Mclassic hooked up makes a noticeable different. Absolutely love this game

@@Papibife I don’t believe so unless it’s been put in via a patch. But if not you can double tap the home button for a zoom in feature
@@andrewnicholls4667 yeah bro is in the noth patch, u have the game? Try and tell me haha
CD Projekt Red just fixed ambient sounds! yeeaahhh! patch 4.04b
You can erase the content for Witcher 3 from your switch, that will delete the patch and go back to 1.0
if you want to find the previous one, you can't. your only hope is to align your switch on another one that hasn't updated the game.
The only easy way would be to grab the previous patch and install it through homebrew, which requires a hacked switch.
@@Rytom Well I imagine the patch is around the corner. I don't see them releasing such a big update and not fix such a small but extremely noticeable issue as quick as they can.
Best switch channel, period!!
Hope you move onto the switch 2 next year
I've had this sitting on my shelf for a while now. Might be time to actually give it a play.
I’ve been casually working on my 2nd play through in game plus mode. I’ll always love this game.

I gotta say though, I'm a little hesitant to update the game just in case there's some major drawback that messes the game up in such a way that I don't want to even play it anymore, butvI think I'm going to wait it out to see if there's any new update to fix those sound and framerate issues that was mentioned in the vid...Hopefully that gets sorted out soon! 😅
Awesome job as always on the vid guys!! Keep up the incredible work!! 😎👍
4.04b patch is now out - fixes the ambient audio issue
