We all have a tendency to make fun of Barbara but her portfolio has the most successful businesses to date per Mark Cuban. She only invests in companies that she knows she can command a VERY strong ROA.

Being valued at approx. 8 million USD when you are already valued at $81 Million really shows how much they value the sharks. I personally wouldnt have come down so much. They already came down from 81 to 20 mil. I hope this partnership does wonders for them. Also surprised how other investors agreed for this much dilution. Congrats to them ! 😊👍
Or maybe, those who accepted the 81M valuation were just completly out of reason and now the valuation is right... who knows?
@@nod2009 Maybe. But It’s a loss from previous investor’s POV because if I am paying 100k to get 10 % and other person is just paying 10k to get 10%, I certainly won’t be happy about that.
It’s all good if the previous investors are fine with it.
The deals on shark tank are mostly over own shares. So if the 2 own 58% of the company they give the sharka 7% then they own 51%. The other investors dont get diluted by this onlynif they take the 7% from all shares.
You are missing the punch, those shares value is being given at a discount on their shares and not diluting the existing cap table. There is no way the previous investors would allow this and by the way, shark tank is an entertainment show and has little to no value beyond the initial splash advertising ! Its a fact that most of them have not recouped the investment from the companies so, so much for the value you think shark tank has and provide to entrepreneurs .
No they actually got a 15 million dollar valuation on this deal because they got 1 mil for 7%

The thing is it doesnt. Medical bottles is like 0.000001% of plastic waste. And they dont make a change cause they use more gas for transport for the less plastic in product. Its the same. But ita just a feel good product for millenials cause they like to buy products that are marketed enviromental friendly or some other bs. What would make a change is just make a law that pill companies dont use the bottles more.

Wow a sustainable product I would ACTUALLY want to switch to especially because of the affordability. I would definitely switch over if I could buy it on Amazon or in retail stores bc those are more convenient for me.

I just bought Cabinet health at Target!
My ONLY problem here is that they kept saying they save the user money. I looked at the refill pouches on their website, and they are more expensive than the generic… and you get 3x less the count of acetaminophen. I will def get on board when the prices go down.
I’m surprised other sharks didn’t give offers, but I do agree that they have a long road ahead getting approval for each new OTC drug packaging.

I just bought my first bottle from Cabinet on Amazon last week for a really good price compared to all the other brands in plastic bottles. I had never heard of them before and I had no idea they were on Shark Tank until now. I love everything about these glass bottles and this company. I checked out their website and they also offer personalized bottles for your prescription meds.
I knew Kevin would want to be in this one. This is basically the Blueland in pharmaceutical industry.

When it comes to healthcare industry Mark is always thinking it's some sort of scam and hates anything like that from the start. I don't blame him though, He has seen a lot of scammers in the healthcare. Ear Bluetooth implant anyone lol.
The ear bluetooth episode gave me major anxiety and freaked me out. Needing a surgery, having permanent earphones and passing a cable through my ears for a charge. Pass. 😂

I love the idea but I see why some of the sharks said that they were out. We should have 14 million in sales but having a negative Net profit is ridiculous to me. Plus they raised over 13 million. Where did all that money go to? Hopefully having two sharks in the company will help them to turn that negative net profit into a positive one.
almost all biotech companies are like that. They burn most of their money in research and development.
Biotech companies are cash furnaces. They burn through millions like its nothing. Most large biotech companies spend billions in research and development, so I'm not surprised by their lack of profit. Ultimately, a company like this is just looking for a buyout. They'll get some billion dollar offer and they'll sell.

They lost money when they make 25 mil. Something is off. Not to mention there is nothing proprietory about producing otc medicine in a recycle packaging.

I get that their mission is to reduce plastics - and every bit helps - but medicine containers are probably one of the lower level plastic waste sources. First, the bottles are small. Second, not everyone uses them. Third, people tend to have them for awhile before throwing them away. If we should be concerned about the amount of plastic pollution generated by medicine bottles, I can’t even quantify how much we should be concerned about plastic cups/bottles/food containers. We use them every single day and they’re large.

They should sell the containers to anyone who wants to buy it online for personal use, no need to get FDA approval. When Mark gets huffy puffy about something, he is showing his real teeth.
I'm sure they do to an extent but they still need repeated business. So if you sold the container with only the initial amount in it and not the refills that would cut the number of approvals in half but you'd have no ongoing business. If you just sold the containers then It's not even a business. Any Chinese manufacturer on temu could just undercut you and even if they didn't you'd get a one-time sale

The valuation doesn’t make sense. What is stopping the sharks from getting a higher valuation in a couple weeks badk to the 81 million and then turning 500k into 2 million in 2 weeks and selling out? Something didn’t add up and I bet the deal didn’t close

Nightmare idea. Large international pharmaceutical companies spend *billions* doing stability testing for packages. They ultimately choose the most robust packages. Non-plastics will never work for this reason.
