Mark was super impressive especially at his young age. If I was him, I would have offered $150K @ 15% as a counter instead of going up to 20% in that one hit.

Running a business is not easy, and it comes with a significant amount of overhead. He can get himself a job that will pay him 200K for the next 30 years. 600K is not a lot of money in the grand scheme of life.

Since he’s not going into debt, he has the opportunity to experience it worry free while also developing more acumen on business or whatever he might what to venture into. College allows for networking, personal exploration, development of new or existing acumen and many more. 600k is good, but what makes it great is learning to reinvest the money and grow further because the money alone won’t last him forever.
