It always surprises me when I hear entrepreneurs pitching and saying "We have everything on the line, we sold our house, we maxed out our credit cards...". This does not show commitment - it shows desperation. It is also a terrible thing to say to someone who's ABOUT TO NEGOTIATE WITH YOU.
@@iflut- Oftentimes sharks that hear the person in front of them has no money left make pretty ruthless offers. They have all the money, the other side is in desperate need of investment and guidance - they have the upper hand.
It also backfires because it shows they’re desperate and will probably take any deal

It depends on how you look at it. That also shows determination when they have the idea, but not the capital. It shows they are all in to make this work. It doesn't mean they are there begging. it just means they are looking for a partner to get them to the next step. That's not always money, sometimes its just their connections or business knowledge

Most of her reasons for going out, are a bit odd and don’t always make sense. To the viewer. Of course it makes sense to Barbara and again she is very successful. She knows what she is doing.

Never risk your house if you can get a loan and pay that in increments in case your business flops. You need a place to live if something like corona virus occurs for example.
This would be good in places where families with kids visit like museums, aquariums, malls etc but was surprised to see them give away 35%! I somehow doubt that the deal would close 😅

In Japan, a lot of food are delivered by vending machines. This will never happen in the US since they would get broken into on a daily basis.

I would never invest in someone who maxed out cards, sold their house or took out another mortgage, or did desperate things to continue the business. If you have to do all of that to keep going it’s not worth it. Sell it to someone or license it somehow.

I'm not a fan of vending machines popping out pizzas, coffee, drinks or anything that is not cleaned after every use. Those things tend to become infested with roaches and other vermin.

Some people actually can't eat it, so it is just a popular food choice. Like nut-free.
When something says gluten-free or organic they aren't what they seem. They just have to meet certain criteria. Most organic food has chemicals and everything else. They just comply with crappy standards and jack up the price for suckers. I wish I would have cashed in on the vegan trend and jacking up the price on hipsters.
The gluten itself is not necessarily inherently bad for people without celiac disease or non-celiac gluten sensitivity, but wheat is, so more people even without those conditions are going wheat-free. Even supposedly healthy whole wheat has a lectin called wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) which binds to the insulin receptors on your cells and hijacks them so glucose can keep flooding into them. Some cells end up overloaded, creating free radicals as a result and often leading to cell death, while other cells are starved for energy, not to mention unnecessarily storing fat when WGA binds to fat cells.
