    • @iMadrid11

      Each country allocates cellular frequency bands differently. So there’s no guarantee an iPhone 4 CDMA will work in Australia. If it the phone doesn’t have the same cellular radio.
      I’m not sure Australia even offers CDMA service. The USA, Japan & South Korea seems to be the only country which offers CDMA service. For the rest of world GSM is the de facto standard.

      Repent and turn to Christ Jesus before it is too late. For after this comes the JUDGMENT. Christ died for your sins and rose on the third day, showing that anyone who trusts in him for salvation, will have everlasting life.

    Beautiful job. I just finally retired mine last Tuesday after a good almost 10 years of service. Great little phone, only thing I ever replaced was the battery. And the only thing that quit was the power/lock button.

    • @metraforce441
      @metraforce441 4 года назад +1

      mongosragnarok trust me those power buttons do stop working overtime! But it’s not really a big deal you can replace the cable or put some washer or something on the button. The button stops working because the black aculator helper wears down or comes off overtime and that’s what’s pressing the actual button. All you need is something to make a `bump’ on the middle of the button so that can press the button since the metal top button piece Is flat underneath and the aculator sticks up from the button. You can find videos on that. But I can assure the actual button mechanism isn’t broken. Hope that helps!

    As someone who was on Verizon for quite some time, I’ll let you in on why this iPhone doesn’t have a SIM card tray.
    Verizon used to not use SIM cards at all, regardless of phone. How they were tied to your phone number/account was an Electronic Serial Number (ESN) that was usually located under the battery or in the phone menus. You’d have to call up Verizon anytime you needed to switch over your phone, rather than just swap the card. Also, if you had got a phone that was flagged as lost or stolen, it wouldn’t be able to use it at all (learned that the hard way from an EBay sale). They then finally started using SIM cards from iPhone 5 onward.

    Oh boy this is a long explanation. Here in the US there are 2 types of radio technologies and frequencies still. GSM the well known universaly used and CDMA: Verizon and Sprint. When iPhone first came out it only had a gsm antenna and was exclusive to at&t but then later Verizon "CDMA" also obtained the rights to sell and use iPhones on their Network. Problem was that Verizon only uses the "CDMA" standard so Apple released this device close to the 4s release Wich was the first to use both CDMA and GSM radios in one. Paving the way for Sprint and eventually all carriers to use them.

    This was really common in the states so that cell phone companies carrier lock their phones. Usually these phones were at a discounted price as well. Fortunately US phone users got way more savvy about this, especially younger users. And also companies like Apple and Samsung became very aware that people were willing to pay $1,000 for a phone that had the ability to take SIM cards.

    Now that T-mobile merging with Sprint in the USA, Sprint will be changing over to GSM over the next couple years. When T-mobile bought Metro PCS they converted the customers over from CDMA to GSM in 2 years. Only one major carrier will be left that will be able to handle CDMA, Verizon, but I believe they are starting to convert as well. They are kind of a hybrid like Sprint is now.

    I have an issue with my iPhone 4 CDMA after I attempted to take it apart. The phone won't turn on or take a charge. What I tried doing then is attempt to remove the plastic tab that is under the battery. I then attempted to unscrew a few other things at the top of the phone but wasn't successful at doing. After that the phone would not turn on. Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated.

    Not understanding that in the US the only carrier for iPhone before the iPhone 4 cdma model came out was AT&T. The other major carriers were cdma only. Apple did it so they could sell more iPhones.

    Verizon and sprint use to use the iPhone 4 cdma both had no sim trey. Along time ago sprint and Verizon didn’t have sim cards at all it was all through programming. Metro pcs was like that a long time ago until T-Mobile bought them out and they now use a mixture of programming for your phone calls and text and the SIM card to run your internet data

    I need help, so basically I have this exact model and I wanted to replace the screen as well as the power button, though idk what's causing this problem but the power button won't click, as I've teared down the whole phone apart and the power button won't click at all. I've adjusted the button and cable together but the click isn't there, Is it missing a part there or do I have to buy a replacement part? I don't know what else is wrong with it

    • @WAncouvOR
      @WAncouvOR 5 лет назад

      So you have to buy a new phone when you switch carriers, it's more carrier then companies because Samsungs had no Sim card slots in US CDMA.
