If you’re new to idles, try to listen to ‘mother’ or ‘war’. But the best you can do is see them live, they’ll blow you away. I know, I wasn’t convinced at first, after having seen (way) more than 300 shows, they still blew my mind!
IDLES are a proper punk band, with strong commentary on society and politics in their lyrics. Beside 'Mother', and "War' already mentioned in other comments I'd recommend 'Samaritans', 'Danny Nedelko', and 'Stockholm Syndrome'
Idles is one of the those bands that can’t make bad songs. Saw them live last month in Greece and they were INSANE. Check out Never fight a man with a perm, Scum, Mother, Crawl, Colossus, The Beachland Ballroom, When the lights come on and my favourite Mr. Motivator
Been watching you guys for a while, never commented but love the show ❤ Their performance of Never Fight a Man with a perm at the Mercury Prize is top tier
yooo I love to see idles on the channel! I'd recommend the song Colossus, it's sort of an outlier in their discography but i think it's one of their best tracks. His vocals were definitely something i had to get used to at first but after listening to them more they fit a lot better lol
Idles are my latest new found gem. Their music is much more than this release. Car Crash, Colossus, Hym and so many more bangers. To get a real look of their brilliance, have a look at the Live in the basement mini concert, you won't be able to look away.
Idles has gone from straigth artsy punk in their two first albums, then started to get more experimental in the next two and now it looks we are getting Disco/Dance punk. Also you should check, Mélancolia and their song INURE, they are aussies and THEY KILL IT.
This is a collaboration with LCD Soundsystem it sounds more like them than Idles. Like Idles, but love LCD Soundsystem, if you want to check out a song by them, then check North American Scum. Love this stuff but also the likes of Sleep Token, Enter Shikari and DGD to.
Have a look at straykids Lalalala, their new comeback, they have the original and also a rock version u can check out after the crazy visuals of the m/v

Have seen Idles absolutely destroy an audience for trad metal headliners. Phenomenal outfit, they pump like fuck .
Let's hug it out!

That in the basement concert is life defining ngl
Check out The Beachland Ballroom live in The Basement Sessions by Idles.
I feel like this song feel like the B-52s turned the Nasty up to 11.
The way the lead singer delivers reminds me of a band from the 80's called The Fall
The fall were from the 70s to the 2010s. And they don't sound anything like them
Disagree. I hear it in the vocal deliver - the punchliness
