There are some very early 2015 RCFs that had stand-alone TVD globally because Lexus was having issues with CF looming. Later 2015+ all had CF with TVD. Now, in the 2020+ Lexus offers TVD as a stand-alone option separate from the carbon package. It is best to get CF with TVD since it offsets some of the additional weight of the TVD. Also, it lowers center of gravity.
I got my 2015 RCF a few months ago with 44k. I was wondering what that humming was in the back. The reason I went with the Lexus over a Corvette Stingray I was looking at was because of how many Corvettes came up during my search compared to how many RCFs came up (I like cars that are more rare). That would be a nice race to see. Honestly anything that is neck and neck with a rcf is always intriguing to watch because we all already know rcf is slow in the performance world of things.
at last a few month, I was headache about the super annoying humming noise from my rear driver's side. I did tons of research online and finally figured out the problem is related to the fuel pump. I went to the local dealership, they did a reflash and the noise never happens again. Super helpful video, I wish I watched your video back then, and it would save me a lot of time.
It is what it is,being a little heavy gives me a great ride and plenty fast enough for hitting the roads around Sarasota. I always enjoy your comments.
I still love the RCF. Best car Ive ever owned. Go to work, go to track, travel, travel and track. I still am able to drive the car comfortably back to home. Such an amazing machine
I think 99% of people mistake my GSF as a GS350 lol, it's kinda sad that people don't know what these cars are. I'm really hoping lexus brings back the ISF.
Sad part is that the humming in the back and chirping in the front is recurring even after the reflashes and recall work. But still good to go ahead and do it of course.
Lol i got this in my recommendations and i thought to myself, "i wonder if my friend Barry ever saw this video" then i saw your video channel name and i was like, "huh what a coincidence." Then lo and behold, its you!! Love your lexus bro!

Great videos, I subscribed a little while ago, i only have positive things to say about you and thank you for such great content, like this video. I just found out about the fuel pump so I will be bringing my rcf to lexus. If I was to add anything as an Rcf owner is that at first I was a little upset coming from a big modding and aftermarket culture from previous builds to find out that there is a very limited market for the rcf, that being said anything for this car is pricy and there's not much too choose from, but after owning it for more than year, I love the fact that I don't see my car around town too much even in carmeets there's ppl that are completely blown out to find out about the performance behind this car and just say "wao I didn't know lexus made cars like this" lol anyways just for any future rcf owners out there, know that you will be have a very unique, under appreciated vehicle that would not be the first on the finish line but def won't be the last and will always leave a smile on your face everytime you drive it not to mention bang for the buck if you where to compare it to other cars with similar performance. Peace and be blessed. Thank you for your content bro
Hey thanks for dropping your thoughts down. Really appreciate it as I completely agree. Just yesterday, I drove from VA to MD, there was a stretch of the highway that had people just looking at me while I was driving. They probably know what it was but ultimately never seen it around so I completely agree. I appreciate you appreciating the content haha. Trying to fill youtube with more RCF content other than exhaust videos and bad mouthing reviews.
I have a RCF 2015 and to be honest I don't drive it much since the pandemic. When I do though, it's like driving a brand new car each time. So much fun. You go on a straight going 100km/h and you floor it. There are 2 gear shift (in automatic mode, sport + traction control disabled) and you are at 160-170km/h and it's was couple of seconds. I really like the vette, but people are asking too much for a car that general public doesn't like that much. This car make heads turns because they don't know what it is. I learned about the RC-F only 1 month before buying it and I bought it in 2019. If I change my car it will probably be for another RCF.
The chirp you're hearing is nothing to worry about. It's from the injectors. They spray at high PSI, hence the high pressure fuel pump. It's a characteristic of all direct injection cars.
Nice video, just got a cpo like yours(color combo) but with sunroof. I couldn't pass up the price on the CPO and the condition, it was flawless and sat at the dealer for 3 months so it was cheap. I would prefer the TVD, but I like the sunroof closed with the viewer open, makes the cabin seem larger, I'm very tall so it does make a slight difference. But, price being equal or close and condition I would gladly have a TVD. I saw quite a few TVD ones, most had chips all over the roof unfortunately. Another thing I saw was leased used RCF had many more scratches in the interior and on the nav screen, that is something that doesn't show up on website photos, see the car in person before you buy, the interior can get scratched easily.
Interesting enough, the sunroof rcf is actually slightly taller roofing. Friend tried to put a studio rsr cage and it wouldnt fit because it was meant for the other rcf.
I was looking into a RC-F. I wouldn’t buy one because it has barely any after market support for tunning. That’s the sad part. I got a Lexus as my daily but rather buy a E63 AMG or RS3. They both are reliable cars and have really good after market support.
Having the carbon fiber roof is better than the sunroof. Mine had a sunroof as well and I didn't even use it as much as I thought I would have. In fact I kept the sunroof shade closed most of the time.
hard to speak since im in the UK market but at least here, you can get a TVD with or without the carbon pack. Importing from japan, theres even more variety in trims, but many dont have the ML system.
@@thehuangbros It's as you stated in your video about the sunroof. I didnt think myself a convertible guy, but taking the top down is an pretty awesome experience. The exhaust sounds great, with the top down its sounds even better..lol. S+ and shifting gives you some nice pops and the car feels incredible. If you ever come down, you can review the car for the channel if you'd like.
honestly the main reasons I got the 370z is the huge aftermarket potential added on with endless places and ecu, up rev and so many tuning options. One can legit get a flame map with a catback and intakes
Yeap, Lexus overall lacks in the tuning department since the ECU is so hard to crack. The aftermarket support is like 10% of what is offered to 370z. 🙁
@@iTeHee if you’ve seen the Lexus news recently, the new F brand cars are coming I think in the future. So I think that is when we can really gauge whether it is possible to determine that. Since they are stating turbo engine setups.
If you put the vin of the RCF into carfax and look at the free report on their cars they usually list for sale, it’ll tell you if there is a recall on that specific RCF or not.
Did they make you choose between the sunroof and the TVD? Here in Australia there was only one trim, with no options available (aside from wheels); everything was standard. That includes Mark Levinson, sunroof, triple LED headlights and the TVD. I agree with the remarks about speed. Lots of people online argue about how "X car has Y more horsepower" or "A has a 0.2 second 0-60" time. In reality, the car is plenty fast despite the weight. It's more than enough for the street, and you're always a few seconds away from 'lose your licence' speeds anyway. Those small differences in acceleration or power mean nothing, really.
I didnt get to choose between sunroof and tvd. Agreed on your statement about speed. You can only truly be allowed to go so fast. Really no competition unless you race to see who can go merge onto traffic the quickest lol
went from the tlx and q50s red sport 400 but they were unreliable, always came crawling back to lexus... just found your channel so i can learn more about the rcf and other f models thanks!
@@thehuangbros yeah same here! it's actually listed in car complaints.. first year of i think the refresh? maybe i should've waited til they fix the issues..
I own 2017 Lexus I S 300 all-wheel-drive F-sport Series 2 and I was thinking of selling this car and getting a RCF because my dad just got a Toyota Supra and it gives me the trails that I think the RCF would
If on public roads, you only feel slalom mode when changing lanes and spirited driving. On the track, you can feel the mode differences a bit more. If comparing torsen vs tvd, there is a difference in feel when you accelerate. I can say this since i have owned both in a rcf. Wet or dry, it didnt matter which differential you had honestly.
Uhm the difference is.. when turning the outside wheel spins faster than the inside wheel. Tvd is built for this, it sends more power to the outside wheel (torque vectoring) which reduces understeer. The car's speed is related to the amount it's tvd enhances turning behavior. More speed=sharper handling compared with a standard lsd
Reading into Torsen vs TVD. If you like tracking TVD way superior but if you like doing dumb shit, getting sideways and doing donuts apparently Torsen is better lol
This video is super helpful! I've been looking at this car for quite some time and I'm not mechanically inclined so hopefully I can find a honest mechanic once I get one of these. I test drove a 2015 today but noticed the carbon fiber on the door interior started to peel. Also the engine once I took off the cover had some corrosion, not sure if this is normal.
Hi Jimmy. I actually have that video up already on my channel. Just search up Huang Bros Brake Pads. It was probably my 4th video up on this channel haha. 😁
Yo bro. I sell Lexus. And I got a 2020 white rcf. Best car ever. U should really make a video on the refresh 2020 model. They tuned the suspension to perfection on then 2020 model. It's way more street friendly. I feel that the pre-2020 models are a bit stiff. But the new 2020 is almost perfect imo.
Then theres my RCF which is the premiere edition which has TVD, the status grey interior and no sunroof and no carbon roof LOL. Also my RCF has 2 LED's.
I really think this is the next car. I’ve been going back and forth for a couple months now. It’s really hard to figure this next car or truck out. Idk why

i know the differential has more to do with torque then steering but if you look underneath you will see the steering control arms the rear has, it's not in the marketing material. also it adds 50 pounds
Personally the headlights attracted me. Then the interior once I saw it. Then found out it is a 5.0 v8. Then I realized it is just a fancy glorified toyota which means doing maintenance is very simple and easy as shown throughout my youtube channel. The fact that I can maintain it myself is the key for me. Ive owned this car for 40k miles. Its currently at 92k miles. Ive spend only a total of 1500 dollars since its all diy. Brake fluid, oil changes, rear diff fluid, auto trans fluid, brake pads, spark plugs, and whatever else diy. Hope that helps you out
I have a important question. Please help me. If I bought a used rc F. And my car get recall. If i bring it to dealer, will they fix it for free or I need to pay for it?
I wanted an rc350 at first then learned about the rcf later. Both were too much for me at the time so i went with a 2IS 250 and later got an rc350 then moved to a rcf
I want a RC-F performance pkg, 5.0 V8 engine 0-80 4.4 seconds 472hp damn. I need that in my life I'm driving a 2021 IS 300 its nice but boring 4 cyc inline turbocharged is cool.
@@theylive2749 That is interesting. Ive never heard of it as a track issue. Only thing I know about pink vs red is that pink is 2x life. But the track comment is interesting. Does it perform lesser to the red?
I have a RCF 2017 Fuji track edition it has a supercharger built by R& R racing 🏎️ the problem I keep having is that the PCS light keeps coming on making the car go into a limp mode what do you recommend
I do a drain and fill for trans and diff and tvd modules every 30k. Not sure what youre referring to unless youre trying to do it enough times to be 90% new fluid
Brakes on this have been by far my most expensive maintenance on this car it’s kind of ridiculous I will say you can make it cheaper though by finding the part numbers for the rotors at the actual Brembo website to make it a little cheaper
What does a brake job run on these? I mentioned to my Lexus service writer I was interested in an RC-F, and the first comment he made was about the brake cost.
Cheaper route is to go aftermarket brake components honestly. What James mentioned is right, you can get each rotor for about 100 each through brembo site itself.
For a 2021, I personally do not have any experience with the facelift models. I will say the exhausts are the compatible, intake systems, headers, suspension parts. Chassis is still the same just different exterior. If there are any suggestions I would give to buying a 2021 RCF, it would be get the wheel protection plan unless you plan to sell the oem wheels. Check the carbon fiber interior pieces because they are known to have the epoxy lift. The car is generally pretty solid but just know you wont be able to tune it if you go with a 2021. ECU has not been able to be tuned.
Hey man just got me a RC 350, was wondering what kind of exhaust I should get. Don’t want nothing too loud just enough to make it sound better than stock. Any advice?

at last a few month, I was headache about the super annoying humming noise from my rear driver's side. I did tons of research online and finally figured out the problem is related to the fuel pump. I went to the local dealership, they did a reflash and the noise never happens again. Super helpful video, I wish I watched your video back then, and it would save me a lot of time.
Thanks. Mine still reoccurs from time to time
Great video man! I love my Lexus RC 350F sport. I made the same mistake and did not know about the RCF. I will be definitely upgrading soon.
I had the silver RC350 F Sport for quite a bit too. Then I hydroplaned and knew this is the chance to go RCF. I dont think back to RC350 days anymore.
Always informative! I watched most of his vids before buying my RCF.
Very much appreciated
It is what it is,being a little heavy gives me a great ride and plenty fast enough for hitting the roads around Sarasota. I always enjoy your comments.
I still love the RCF. Best car Ive ever owned. Go to work, go to track, travel, travel and track. I still am able to drive the car comfortably back to home. Such an amazing machine
I think 99% of people mistake my GSF as a GS350 lol, it's kinda sad that people don't know what these cars are. I'm really hoping lexus brings back the ISF.
Yeah most likely due to poor marketing. But everyone knows what a m3 is over a 3 series. 🤣
My dream car. I dream with this model everyday since 2017
Its a great reliable car. Very easy on maintenance.
Just got mine, thanks for the heads-up about the fuel pump.
Sad part is that the humming in the back and chirping in the front is recurring even after the reflashes and recall work. But still good to go ahead and do it of course.
Toyota's original MKV. Thanks for the upload, I've been looking to get one.
You will enjoy it.
Lol i got this in my recommendations and i thought to myself, "i wonder if my friend Barry ever saw this video" then i saw your video channel name and i was like, "huh what a coincidence." Then lo and behold, its you!! Love your lexus bro!
Lol Steven! Welcome to the Huang Bros channel! Hahahaha
I just learned a lot about a car I've owned for 8 months now🤣
There you go, learn something new daily. 😀
lemme buy it when I get my license
pls
Bro just found your page. Awesome page. I too got the rc 350 f sport first not knowing there was an F. So i do feel you on that. I still got the rc 350 f sport. So far I've done only interior mods and Cold air intake by AFE Takada
Returning to an RCF. Nice good choice. 😀
Got this in my recommendation so I'll watch ur career with great interest lel
The chirp you're hearing is nothing to worry about. It's from the injectors. They spray at high PSI, hence the high pressure fuel pump. It's a characteristic of all direct injection cars.
Thanks for confirming that
Nice video, just got a cpo like yours(color combo) but with sunroof.
Nice car man. I have a tuned 2021 civic and after watching your videos and other videos I want to switch to lexus rcf.
I was looking into a RC-F. I wouldn’t buy one because it has barely any after market support for tunning. That’s the sad part. I got a Lexus as my daily but rather buy a E63 AMG or RS3. They both are reliable cars and have really good after market support.
Yeap tuning support is nearly nonexistent. The Lexus ECUs are hard to work with.
That's a crazy amount of information! Great video guys!
Thanks Phuong, the deal breaker may be the tuning possibilities.
I want to buy a 21+ rc f base
👍
Having the carbon fiber roof is better than the sunroof. Mine had a sunroof as well and I didn't even use it as much as I thought I would have. In fact I kept the sunroof shade closed most of the time.
Me too. So when I got a second rcf, i knew no sunroof.
Sometimes I want one in my RCF with carbon fiber, but then I drive my Bmw and forgot it even had a sunroof and I never use it😂
I just bought a 2015 nebula gray with sunroof…. I think ima carbon wrap the roof and spoiler cuz I like how it looks
hard to speak since im in the UK market but at least here, you can get a TVD with or without the carbon pack. Importing from japan, theres even more variety in trims, but many dont have the ML system.
Sunroof all the way Barry!!!. Whats up, thanks for meeting out in Los Olivos and dropping off that roof spoiler. Enjoying the channel.
Hey man whats up! Thanks for watching haha. You just got a LC recently?
@@thehuangbros Yes sir! Picked up a 2021 Infrared convertible. That thing is amazing.
@@manny535i how does it feel with top down haha. It must be an exhilarating feel. The exhaust must sound great stock
@@manny535i that would be awesome. Ive been in a S2000 with top down and thats about it but I do think top down convertible is a great experience.
honestly the main reasons I got the 370z is the huge aftermarket potential added on with endless places and ecu, up rev and so many tuning options. One can legit get a flame map with a catback and intakes
Yeap, Lexus overall lacks in the tuning department since the ECU is so hard to crack. The aftermarket support is like 10% of what is offered to 370z. 🙁
@@thehuangbros do you think lexus will ever offer a car or bring back an old one with after market potential
@@iTeHee if you’ve seen the Lexus news recently, the new F brand cars are coming I think in the future. So I think that is when we can really gauge whether it is possible to determine that. Since they are stating turbo engine setups.
@@thehuangbros interesting for sure
If you put the vin of the RCF into carfax and look at the free report on their cars they usually list for sale, it’ll tell you if there is a recall on that specific RCF or not.
have done a similar video on the GSF? just curious. First time watching this channel and video. GREAT VIDEO!
I have not. I dont think Ive ever had a opportunity to film a GSF as the topic.
I'll keep my '61 Rambler Classic thank you.
🤣
I picked up my RCF yesterday! It has the Mark Levinson package and Performance Package with red interior. love the ML sound system
Excellent choice. Congrats on the new car. What exterior color? Tvd or torsen diff?
@@thehuangbros its black on red and i got it with the TVD and carbon fiber roof/wing
@@Mall_Crawling_X nice choice
Dude fix you inner fender well!
One day
went from the tlx and q50s red sport 400 but they were unreliable, always came crawling back to lexus... just found your channel so i can learn more about the rcf and other f models thanks!

F-sport Series 2 and I was thinking of selling this car and getting a RCF because my dad just got a Toyota Supra and it gives me the trails that I think the RCF would
No regrets. If went from RC 350 F Sport to RCF. Big difference in power. Very addictive
The sound at 1:50 is totally normal for Toyota brand cars. I have heard it in many models.
👍 good to know
Awesome vid, but the music is so loud, I tried change sound settings in windows but still, idk if it's only me
The key thing for tuning would be light brake rotors. They weigh too much, around 15kg front and 12kg rear. This is what makes the car appear "heavy".
It doesn't appear heavy, it is fecking heavy lol. Damn near weights 4000 pounds
Potential buyer. One option confuse me. There is active wing and than there is option for wing add-on as dealer option. What are the difference?
Is there a significant difference in handling from the limited slip to the torque vectoring vehicles? How about wet vs dry pavement? Thank you
If on public roads, you only feel slalom mode when changing lanes and spirited driving.
Very informative vid, good stuff 👍
That strut bar is beastly.
Haha OP strut bar
the "rattling/clacking" noise from the fuel injectors is normal. all engines with direct fuel injection make that sound.
👍🏼 acknowledged.
Preach twin! Another ☝🏾, good job...
Hey I really appreciate you always showing some love and support for the content. Thank you.
I don't have to worry about these recalls since i'm buying a 2021 Rc F
Yeap you dont.

Thanks man! Hope the content can help you somehow.
Waiting for the spark plug install vid 🙏🙏
Haha everyone is. Ill probably change again at 100k just to have the video up to help people. So thats in 7k miles
Woah! Corrosion on engine? That is not normal by any means. The engine is covered by hood so im curious as to how corroded.
@@thehuangbros exactly! it even had rust towards the bottom so that might be possible flood damage. I passed on it but looking at one in Texas

@@anthonyb9364 it depends on the dealer but it can run from $2500 to $3200
Cheaper route is to go aftermarket brake components honestly. What James mentioned is right, you can get each rotor for about 100 each through brembo site itself.
Hey! I own a 2018 IS300 and really wanted a 2021 RCF next year, do you have any advice or pointers that I’m gonna need?
For a 2021, I personally do not have any experience with the facelift models. I will say the exhausts are the compatible, intake systems, headers, suspension parts. Chassis is still the same just different exterior. If there are any suggestions I would give to buying a 2021 RCF, it would be get the wheel protection plan unless you plan to sell the oem wheels. Check the carbon fiber interior pieces because they are known to have the epoxy lift. The car is generally pretty solid but just know you wont be able to tune it if you go with a 2021. ECU has not been able to be tuned.
Is the.. RC 350 F-Sport different from the RC F?
Or are we talking about the same car?
Two different car engine and similar interior.
