    What to watch out for when buying an RC F. 1)You absolutely want the Mark Levinston audio upgrade. It’s more than incredible for car audio.
    2) Kbb and banks do not have price differences for the audio or performance package so you’ll end up paying about the same for a car with or without out it so you can get some extra value from the car if you buy one with those options.
    3)This car doesn’t sit very low for its class but it is one of the more harder cars to get under so if you like doing your own maintenance you’ll need low profile ramps and a low profile jack.
    4) If you buy one, be ready for people to ask you what it is because they’ve never seen one. Then doubt you when you tell them it has a Japanese samurai V8. 😂

    • @thehuangbros

    I've got used 2016 RC 350 F Sport in Ultrasonic Blue and it's perfect for my needs as a daily driver. I still get people coming up to me to say how awesome the car looks or want more info about it because they're so rare. It's definitely a great alternative to the RCF. I've put on the RR tune with headers, coilovers, and new exhaust and it's more then enough HP for me at the minute. Do I wish I had an RCF instead, of course. But with hopefully an LC-F coming soon (fingers crossed), by the time I'm looking for a new car in 4-5 years, I can move up into the V8 world unless the government regulation kills them. Keep up the great work :D

    RCF 2017+ had adaptive variable suspension that allows stiffening in sport+ and softening in other modes while the 2015 - 2016 RCF had fixed suspension so it is stiff all the time. Also, carbon roof adds more rigidity and lower CoG. I believe, the rear springs of the LSD and TVD RCF are different part numbers. Great video. I was in those same shoes. My first Lexus ever is a 2014IS250 and went to a 2017 RCF. I can’t get enough of the v8. I test drove first a GSF, then 2 RCFs. The RCF just was the clear winner. It felt familiar like the size of the IS250.
      But hope you find one. Australian here too with dual citizenship. Raised here in the states though.

      There are some very early 2015 RCFs that had stand-alone TVD globally because Lexus was having issues with CF looming. Later 2015+ all had CF with TVD. Now, in the 2020+ Lexus offers TVD as a stand-alone option separate from the carbon package. It is best to get CF with TVD since it offsets some of the additional weight of the TVD. Also, it lowers center of gravity.

    I bought my 2015 RC-F with the TVD based on your info. Honestly the biggest thing to watch for is the carbon fiber interior door cluster plate is delaminating on the passenger side. Pretty much it.
    52k miles and it doesn’t make any noises other than the normal vroom vroom noises. I get around 25.6 mpg when I’m being tame. This thing is really easy to drive and toss around. It inspires so much confidence vs the M4 bmw which has a tendency to punch the turbo in the corners and it really is easy to upset the balance.
    So easiest way to put it: it drives easily and has tons of power. No one will give two shits about it because even “Car Guys” have no clue what it is

    I got my 2015 RCF a few months ago with 44k. I was wondering what that humming was in the back. The reason I went with the Lexus over a Corvette Stingray I was looking at was because of how many Corvettes came up during my search compared to how many RCFs came up (I like cars that are more rare). When the weather is better, I'm going to do a race for my channel between my RCF and my 1993 Honda Acty with a 660cc engine. Should be a close one haha

    Great videos, I subscribed a little while ago, i only have positive things to say about you and thank you for such great content, like this video. I just found out about the fuel pump so I will be bringing my rcf to lexus. If I was to add anything as an Rcf owner is that at first I was a little upset coming from a big modding and aftermarket culture from previous builds to find out that there is a very limited market for the rcf, that being said anything for this car is pricy and there's not much too choose from, but after owning it for more than year, I love the fact that I don't see my car around town too much even in carmeets there's ppl that are completely blown out to find out about the performance behind this car and just say "wao I didn't know lexus made cars like this" lol anyways just for any future rcf owners out there, know that you will be have a very unique, under appreciated vehicle that would not be the first on the finish line but def won't be the last and will always leave a smile on your face everytime you drive it not to mention bang for the buck if you where to compare it to other cars with similar performance. Nice video, just got a cpo like yours(color combo) but with sunroof. I couldn't pass up the price on the CPO and the condition, it was flawless and sat at the dealer for 3 months so it was cheap. I would prefer the TVD, but I like the sunroof closed with the viewer open, makes the cabin seem larger, I'm very tall so it does make a slight difference. But, price being equal or close and condition I would gladly have a TVD. I saw quite a few TVD ones, most had chips all over the roof unfortunately. Another thing I saw was leased used RCF had many more scratches in the interior and on the nav screen, that is something that doesn't show up on website photos, see the car in person before you buy, the interior can get scratched easily.

    I have a RCF 2015 and to be honest I don't drive it much since the pandemic. When I do though, it's like driving a brand new car each time. So much fun. You go on a straight going 100km/h and you floor it. There are 2 gear shift (in automatic mode, sport + traction control disabled) and you are at 160-170km/h and it's was couple of seconds. I really like the vette, but people are asking too much for a car that general public doesn't like that much.
    This car make heads turns because they don't know what it is. I learned about the RC-F only 1 month before buying it and I bought it in 2019. If I change my car it will probably be for another RCF.

    Did they make you choose between the sunroof and the TVD?
    Here in Australia there was only one trim, with no options available (aside from wheels); everything was standard. That includes Mark Levinson, sunroof, triple LED headlights and the TVD.
    I agree with the remarks about speed. Lots of people online argue about how "X car has Y more horsepower" or "A has a 0.2 second 0-60" time. In reality, the car is plenty fast despite the weight. It's more than enough for the street, and you're always a few seconds away from 'lose your licence' speeds anyway. Those small differences in acceleration or power mean nothing, really.

    • @thehuangbros
      @thehuangbros  3 года назад +2

      If on public roads, you only feel slalom mode when changing lanes and spirited driving. On the track, you can feel the mode differences a bit more. If comparing torsen vs tvd, there is a difference in feel when you accelerate. I can say this since i have owned both in a rcf. Wet or dry, it didnt matter which differential you had honestly.

    • @jeremyallison8998
      @jeremyallison8998 2 года назад

      Uhm the difference is.. when turning the outside wheel spins faster than the inside wheel. Tvd is built for this, it sends more power to the outside wheel (torque vectoring) which reduces understeer. The car's speed is related to the amount it's tvd enhances turning behavior. More speed=sharper handling compared with a standard lsd

But it doesnt mean you cant have fun with 2020 in regards to intake headers, exhaust. Intake and exhaust you can do without tune but its recommendes to do headers with a tune to maximize headers performance output. But you can still do IHE without tune. 2020 has carplay already in it, I think thats a good thing. Other than what I just stated, its just all exterior and interior design aside from the tune and carplay.

Chassis is still the same just different exterior. If there are any suggestions I would give to buying a 2021 RCF, it would be get the wheel protection plan unless you plan to sell the oem wheels. Check the carbon fiber interior pieces because they are known to have the epoxy lift. The car is generally pretty solid but just know you wont be able to tune it if you go with a 2021.
