This video was very informative. Your feedback as a regular guy is important for the average joe interested in getting this. Appreciate your feedback on the issues and the good. I heard of people changing tranny fluids around 30-50k depending on how you drive and you dont seem to drive hard. I consistently hear the tranny feels old technology, cant go hard at low rpms, etc. Do you have any fears of how the tranny will do long term? You think it can handle extra power from boost? This sounds like a high revving car but maybe tranny signs are saying its not good with low torque? BTW, Love your edits, I think you should do more. Take less focus on watching you talk and more on car whether it be video cut ins that relate or just different views of the car, pictures, videos, i would not mind seeing more and more angles of the car while hearing you. Positive feedback that might help but you are doing great even the way it is.
I appreciate the feedback. As for the transmission, I have no worries long term as these are an Aisin product that they used in the LS starting in 2007, so they are tried and true. As for handling extra boost, it'll probably be fine. I haven't heard of blown trans on these, but I have heard of blown engines from too much boost.
I’ve actually been looking into possibly getting a RCF in a few years but at the same time I want the Supra as well it’s a hard toss up for me but great review!
Great video and very helpful review. I've been looking at used models. You had some great tips; most of the reviews do not mention some of the problems that could be encountered and be costly. Some of the used models at the dealerships that I see on line have unusually low mileage. This sorta makes me wary. Thanks for your review.
I would not be wary of very low mileage! This car is still overall cheaper to maintain than any Euro equivalent. Personally, I would love to have one with very low miles again, as I'm just about to cross 60k. But that's just getting started really with a lexus
"Realistic Dream Cars".... could be an awesome channel theme/focus. Vids that focus on the flagship/high performance cars are fun and informative. But, I agree, they don't contribute to a realistic and sustainable budget in the long term. I would love to see more reviews like this with other cool cars if you can find the access!

I do! Definitely not as much, I got another car to use in bad weather and commuting. It’s a lot more special to take it out on a nice day or date night only. It’s just about to 60k miles. No issues still beyond what I mentioned in the video
Bought my GSF (same color) after a childhood of old American junkers that were always breaking down on me. Best daily I could ask for after two years of just oil changes.
Beautiful car and a good review. I got an IS 500 it's a great car but Lexus dropped ball on how they build cars, they just put the 8Spd Aisin, 2UR-GSE V8 and the RC F exhausts and GS F front end subframe to make the suspension handle the V8 that's it. They did not go much more like chassis stability and rigidity they should have made an ISF but did not. When I recently test drove an RC F 2018, I realized how much planted the RC F feels like, its way superior to IS 500, the press journos really hated this car only Savageeese and a few others love it. And also IS 500 has a bumper sag which Lexus did not even address, or they care anymore (issued a garbage TSB). Even the 2023 RC F got some downgrades - no memory seat, no engine brace, no TVD, dash changed to IS, they are now only keeping for RC F homologation until 2025 being last MY for this legendary car. I feel the TVD is a real nice addition to the car, saw 2 failures of TVD on GS F but none on RC F so far. I'm really stoked to get an older RC F as it's one of a kind special car and the best part is RC F GT3 class it wins many races on this base fundamental design.
I'm currently looking at an RCF 92k miles for basically 40k out the door. My biggest concern is the miles plus price. I'm not trying to spend that on a car that's going to die 50k miles later. Can I depend on this lexus sports car the way we could like the SC300? We beat the shot out of those and still got 200k plus with minimal cost.
I currently have a 2014 370Z Nismo. I was originally thinking about trading it for an RC 350 F Sport. But I feel for the money, I’d rather try and find an RCF with 35k - 45k miles. It would be my daily driver, something doesn’t exactly feel like right about it, thoughts!?
As a daily some things you need to consider are do you have a proper place to store this car? You're going to be kicking yourself watching it sit out in a bad storm or people parking too close to it. Other little things like how far is your commute, if it's away from a urban area, you will want to order a spare tire kit. I daily drove it for almost 6 month and it bugged me to drive it in rough weather and not have a house with a garage at that time, not to mention rolling a ton of miles on it. Personally I like it better as a second car, but that's because I'm extremely particular about it, now I'm more selective about driving it.
@@Beangoeszoom I’m grateful for the response. I reside in Myrtle Beach, so sun exposure and salty air could be an issue with no garage. I have a manual 370Z Nismo. I was originally looking at The RC 350 F-Sport and Infinity Q60 Red Sport to replace it. I want similar or more power, but with an automatic and GT styled vehicle. Then I came across the RCF. I could afford it if I buy one within’ 29k - 40k miles ($50k). My commute is minimal, work and social environments are all within’ 10 - 30 minutes from home. I am also not someone who abuses my car on the road. Racing, donuts, heavy modifications etc. All I keep hearing about Lexus is their reliability. Even with there premium vehicles like the RCF. I suppose I just want to make sure buying something used with those miles is safe and worthy.
Hey BGZ, great video. One somewhat strange question only because I haven't driven one yet. Does your right leg and knee area have enough room or are you forced to straighten out your leg while driving?? I have found driving other Lexus models that either the gas pedal is to far to the right or that the console design is wide in that knee area. I find it uncomfortable with right leg with straight, too many truck bench seats in my past. Thanks.
No mention of the useless back seat?! Good video but ya, a little slow. I have a solar fire coloured 2015 RC F loaded, not track pkg, with 52,000 km w/o mods. I love it and would buy again. I track raced it and it’s been awesome. I could race all day and have no issues. Lexus dependability :))
Do you recommend buying the 2022 RC 300 sport RWD brand new ( it's too risky buying used due to hurricane Ida floods)? I'm debating on that or maybe just save a lot of $ and get a RAV4. The lexus is just so damn expensive...almost $50k. The biggest deal breaker for me is the outdated infotainment and that touchpad
I would do a hard pass on the non V8 versions of this car. Wait to get the right thing which is the F. As for the infotainment stuff- I promise you you’re not gonna give a damn about it because that’s not what this car is about. I plug in my phone, play music and that’s about all I would do anyways.
Hey I currently have an e92 m3 with the dct transmission have u ever driven an m3 if so how would u compare the interior quality vs the lexus? What do u think of manual mode is there a delay in shift response. I'm considering trading in my m3 for one.
The interior is so much more special feeling than any BMW imo, and the shift time is pretty damn quick, just not downshifting multiple gears, then it's slow, but just up one or down one it's damn near as fast as dct. My friends and I were talking how the RC F is so much car for the money, that is also tremendously reliable, that theres very few upgrades from it that aren't above the 6 figure mark; I won't give up this car unless it's for a manual 911 or something of that caliber
You need to go and look at an ISF interior and then tell me that the infotainment in your car is from the same era.... you don't know how good you have it.
Regarding your comment about BMW and ZF their transmissions, they may be quick, but they are trash and prone to failures etc. This is why BMW is now dropping their ZF transmissions on all their future cars and moving to 8 speed torque converter transmissions. Even their M cars will make this transition. At the end of the day, most people putt around town in these performance cars and don't need 150 ms shifts. The torque converter trans is just more comfortable, can be very quick, and most importantly, reliable. Yep. That's right. Lexus got it right in 2008.
I think you need to do some research. The ZF is a torque converter 🤣 they are pretty bulletproof, the problem is lack of maintenance from owners. BMW have started using ZF torque converters in their M cars and slowly dropping the DCT (dual clutch). They definitely have not dropped the ZF8, they are phenomenal

Let's just chalk it up to proof that low-life pieces of sh!t are in full force out there - and all we need to do is ignore them at best, and slaughter them at worst (you know, I mean, like when they go zombie mode during SHTF lol).

PS: Like my current GSF, I also put a stiff aftermarket suspension like KW, Ohlins in G35S since they're both 2-3 year old...
Get a supra if you car about pure speed
Get a rcf if you care about everything else
I would love to see more reviews like this with other cool cars if you can find the access!
im 16 working 2 jobs investing my money in what I think could probably get me one of these in a few years, can't wait to piss everyone off with it great vid
thanks dad
Anytime son
😂
Great vid! I’m looking to buy one and gained some good insights as what to expect for maintenance
I just got an rcf.
Changing the slip diff fluid every 10k seems excessive...
I'm thinking of adding the carbon fiber wing to distinguish it.
If you drive it like you stole it like I do, it can't hurt. Its always come out pretty dark every time I wait 15/20k intervals.
Great video
And u got a damn good deal on that car at time of purchase. Nice
I literally watched hundreds of videos on the rc f this is first video mentioning the f light on door like Batman I love it found mine accidentally after purchase
Great video and thanks for the insight!
Hi, thanks for sharing your experience, really helpfull!
I’ve question: do you still drive this RCF? And if so, what’s current mileage?
I do! Definitely not as much, I got another car to use in bad weather and commuting. It’s a lot more special to take it out on a nice day or date night only. It’s just about to 60k miles. No issues still beyond what I mentioned in the video
I stepped down from a ls460 to a gs 350, love the car but miss the v-8
Bought my GSF (same color) after a childhood of old American junkers that were always breaking down on me. Best daily I could ask for after two years of just oil changes.
It really makes you appreciate every aspect of these cars when you came from ragged out stuff.
Good review mate, I'm seriously considering a used one ,perhaps a 2017 model. Just need to sell my GR Yaris and raid the piggy bank.
If the maintenance history is good (mainly oil changes on time) RCF should last way long than 140k miles. These engines are very reliable
Keep up the vids! I love the rcf
Thank you!
I approve this message.
Thanks.
I’m 6’3 and I can adjust the seat all over the place and still be pretty comfortable. I hope that helps!
Nice car. Great video
Bro, fellow Amtrak engineer on the NEC looking at reviews for this car. Also had a es300 as my first whip. What are the odds lol
Small world! You will enjoy the car if you get one. It's still a lot of bang for the buck.
Will Bean ever apologize for the atrocities that he's committed? Also great video man
Thank you my stalwart gentleman
Clevelanderrrrr ❤❤❤
You have to always run Super Plus Unleaded. The less ethanol, the better
what kind of exhaust do you have?
Meisterschaft Valved axle back, and a PPE resonated and high flow cat mid pipe.
I’m looking at purchasing a 2015 similar specs…2 owners, 15200 miles. Selling Sept 23 for 51K 😮😮
Unusually low mileage for an 8 year old car. Was it OK?
Bro said Gorilla Zoe 😂
It warms my heart someone got a laugh out of that lol
Did you keep the exhaust stock?
Exactly screw what Jeremy said, everyone that says this car isn’t good are sheep who don’t know what they’re talking about. Doug Demuro did the same.
no link in description 😢
Does your adaptive cruise have stop and go functionality?
I don't believe so, but Ive also never tried!
It doesn’t, it’ll brake for you until like 15 mph or something like that and it’ll beep at you to manually brake, I’ve tested it
Hey I currently have an e92 m3 with the dct transmission have u ever driven an m3 if so how would u compare the interior quality vs the lexus? What do u think of manual mode is there a delay in shift response. I'm considering trading in my m3 for one.
The interior is so much more special feeling than any BMW imo, and the shift time is pretty damn quick, just not downshifting multiple gears, then it's slow, but just up one or down one it's damn near as fast as dct. My friends and I were talking how the RC F is so much car for the money, that is also tremendously reliable, that theres very few upgrades from it that aren't above the 6 figure mark; I won't give up this car unless it's for a manual 911 or something of that caliber
Plus the Lexus interior…actually, all aspects of the Lexus are vastly more superior in quality, durability, reliability & low maintenance costs.
how much did you pay for the trans fluid drain and filter change
I think around 280 at a very reputable transmission shop
You need to go and look at an ISF interior and then tell me that the infotainment in your car is from the same era.... you don't know how good you have it.
I want to get one of these, but insurance stops me lol
V8!
You have a Mark savage geese quality to your taking style but not as depressing as Mark can get LOL
I'm honored lol
you should slap a super charger on it
Regarding your comment about BMW and ZF their transmissions, they may be quick, but they are trash and prone to failures etc.
Dude RUclips is not in your future this was the most mundane and boring review of this car I have maybe ever seen, like watching paint dry. Jesus.
Thank you Mike :) you are the man!
I got my rc f in December and I adore that car death do us part gorgeous n fun my dream car in many ways love that it’s part gs part is when I was young the is wasn’t even in usa yet I wanted the blue back then as well I always loved Toyota owned an es a gs still have ls 460 and my rc f silver black carbon hood spoiler worked red interior straight beast
Blue was the wrong choice, should of gotten the ultra white. Only a white guy would ever pick a blue car with boring black interior lmao. Awful.
Awful. Lmao. A racist troll who felt the need to comment twice. So boring.
Hey Bean, great video. I'm sure I was just as astonished at this turd's comment as you are! While I've always been a monochromatic-car-color kinda guy, I really appreciate the blue! But wow, that comment though... I mean, it was uncivilized and rude already, WITHOUT the racialization lmao. Let's just chalk it up to proof that low-life pieces of sh!t are in full force out there - and all we need to do is ignore them at best, and slaughter them at worst (you know, I mean, like when they go zombie mode during SHTF lol).
this guy didn't get the performance package LMAO. fail. I'm loving my performance package RCF, TVD is the way to go for the handling. This guy messed up big time lmao, he's delusional.
oh yeahhh - i'm sure you put that performance package to its limits stomping on the gas in a straight line all day looool
@@rawjhaw 3rayallens is being a hater of his own car essentially. It literally doesn’t make sense
You sound unhinged
I love the RCF !! The one thing that drives me crazy about these Lexus' (IS, RC's or even LC) is the blank buttons where those washer sprayer, or HUD goes ... even on the brand new one - if i'm paying $80k ... i do NOT wanna see blank buttons anywhere :o)
Great video man !!
Get carplay on car. Comment if you need to know where
Make more videos. Ur putting that thing to waste
I just bought a ‘15 RC350 Awd f sport and though i love the looks inside and our, the “performance” is trash I’ll admit. I’ve seen a few rcf videos lately that make me want to possibly buy as my next car. Yours looks beautiful. Love that blue! Also i have the same R7 and BlendMount you’re using hahah small world. 💪🏾🫡
