Thanks Tommy! These motors have 12 magnets. Don't forget to set it from 14 to 12 magnets in settings of Betaflight for using RPM-filtering/Bidirectional Dshot!
Almost done with mine, just need the gopro. I went with xing 1204's excited to see how it flys! Thank you for putting your work out there, very much appreciated!
Finally someone to explain it well too the un experienced ..love brother!! I feel like my sons will understand now with someone explaining that with related!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL BUILD!!! I am grateful that you take the time to explain how to do this in such detail at that! I can't wait to see more footage as it is just mind blowing and inspirational...
Nice work man. Your Umma85/95 has really inspired new life into this hobby for me. I've messing with a open prop 3 inch bersion of this. Same footprint, still safe a quiet, 6 min flight. Build vieeo on my channel. I just did an epic BMX park shoot, will be posting that video in a couple days.
Definitely buying from Tommy's store, this guy is so nice for sharing and makes in my opinion the best frames in the industry, I love my new acrobat duo.
Always thinking outside the box and pushing the hobby! Love all things ummagawd because they breed quality , thoughtfulness and I’m all about that. Keep bringing the 🔥🔥🔥. Can’t wait to see what you come up next. I’m definitely building this one!
@ummagawd , I guess some won't understand why that middle leg was the third... lol. But what a clean build it was, and finally someone that knows to mount wires through the pcb, and solder on the other side, for a durable connection with little to none chance of missing a blob of tin tugged away under the wires that'l short your build. VERY well done imho !
yes me to i looked into ordering ,but not feasible to thailand, i printed some bits myself from the files tho, i would like the file for the vista camera he uses in this vid tho, not in the files he released
You make such neat videos ..very well edited nice visuals and you're a phenomenal pilot..nevr built a quad before hope to get to it soon ..(I just watched the video in which you test motors for the betaFPV 3 times)
Ah I'm really conflicted if I should build this or go with the prebuilt Beta95X V2. This seems awesome with the lower CG and all that and the normal Vista vs. the Nebula cam (it also looks pretty awesome), but it's also nice to be able to remove the GoPro and not have it tied up to a single drone. Building it would be a lot of fun (if everything goes well), but not having all this hassle is nice as well. Not sure.
A bit late to the party, hopefully you'll see this question : Do you think it could handle a full-size Runcam 5 Orange ? At 56g, It's quite a bit heavier than a naked GoPro (about 17g afaik), but lighter than a Session 5 (74g). I'm having a hard time justifying the purchase of a GoPro for a single build, since I don't fly much, but I still enjoy capturing footage :) Anyway, thank you for your amazing work and your innovative ideas, Tommy !
Nice one Tommy! Finding it really hard to get that perticular FC/ESC stack... would the BETAFPV F4 20A AIO Brushless Toothoick Flight Controller V3 2-4S BLHELI_S 20A ESC work? TIA
If you get hot motors after building this exact build and tune try this on your ESC's. Worked perfect for me: PWM Frequency: 48KHz and Motor Timing: 22
Super freaking cool. So want to buy the digital kit and build it. Will these be back in stock? You always pick the smoothest lines when filming. Love it.
Just wanted to click everything together since the build bundles are out of stock. looks like the fc esc stack is not available anymore, is that right? Would love to build that one! Have been following since it came out and think i have gotten good enough to fly some more expensive quads now :D BetaFPV recommends the "F4 AIO 20A Toothpick Brushless FC V4". But with the change of the FC I'm not sure if the 1207 Motors you recommended for more Freestyle related flying will manage a 4s pack.. Would it be possible to update the video description? Thanks a lot! And if it'll be available on your website i'd love to buy it from there!
Tommy, AWESOME build! I instantly gone to build one as well! Btw, how much does it weight with the battery? I used some old parts and still trying to figure out the battery vs final weight.
I wish there was an option to buy just the hardware! (without the 3d prints) There are a lot of self tapping screws here, hope my hardware store's got em.. I'll guess at the dimensions i suppose
Parts are still available yes, although there’s been a lot of offerings from others these days. If you want to build your own, you can get one-off PCBs that will make decasing a hero 6 super easy on Ummagawd.com (look for the futile innovation products),
I'm a total noob on FPV and want to start getting in to it. So does it matter what radio or fpv goggles I use? I was looking at the Spektrum DX8e and maybe some eachine goggles. Will those work as well? Cause I need my radio to be flexible and programmable for other uses besides just fpv. But I also do want an HD FPV system, just that DJI is $$$$
If you want to fly in HD, you need to use the DJI FPV Goggles. You can then use whichever remote and receiver you like. Personally, I'm running Crossfire on by builds. Only disadvantage is that the receiver adds $30 to each of your builds which you wouldn't need using the DJI remote, but the DJI remote is single-purpose, in that you can only use it with the DJI FPV System.
@@FPFPV Thanks. Yeah in the last couple of days I've watched a few goggles reviews and it seems like the DJI is the way to go there. The analog ones end up the same price by the time you get everything you need. On the remote - that's right - I want a multi-purpose remote. But on the above build I guess I'd just swap out the receiver? Wouldn't change the weight?
Awesome build. Have you tuned this for freestyle yet? It looks like BetaFPV has been inspired by your work and their 95X V2 looks very similar to this. I'm thinking of getting it as a beginner whoop rig, but I'd like to be able to do some freestyle (I'm assuming the bigger 95 frame is better for that?). Steele had a video recommending the 95X for beginners and he was doing plenty of freestyle, so just wanted your opinion on this.
This project is so clever and well designed! Has anyone tried if the dampening of those isolators is enough to make a Hero 5 work with RSG, instead of using a Hero 6?
I have built this quad exactly to your specs and tune (except I am using bf 4.2.1 and props reversed). Flies great and great video, but motors get hot. I have tried different tunes but nothing helps which is very strange. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@@matthis4313 I just figure it out today after downgrading to 4.2.0 and setting prop directions normal. That did not work, then I realized I should look at ESC settings. I set PWM Frequency: 48KHz and Motor Timing: 22. Immediately could tell the difference in performance and sound, finished the pack and landed with motors just a little warm, not hot at all. So happy now, because I was pretty worried after such a build and motors getting hot. Here is where I got my basic idea from on the settings: oscarliang.com/best-blheli-32-settings/
I just finished my UMMA95 build and everything works great. Just did a first flight through the house and noticed the throttle is very touchy. Was wondering if you did any throttle curve changes or throttle scaling to give it a little more throttle res when cruising? Update: Today I spent some time with the throttle curve and 20% mid / 25% expo really helped to give this build a lot more lower throttle resolution. I may still tweak that some but pretty good for now.
I have a question. Do I need a bec for gopro or I may I solder the gopro to battery pads directly? I read on websites and youtube, most people add a bec between.
First mistake you are making is using the fc to power the gopro. Youll burn it out eventually. Even fc rated for 2 to 3 amps burn out but youll notice it some day when you are on a gig and your fc wont power.
Tommy thanks for the awesome build video. Bought your kit at your store, I am now doing the build but I am building it with TBS Crossfire. Not able to figure out where I should connect my TBS Crossfire nano cables. according to beta Fpv they go connected to TX3/RX3/5V/GND but in the video you are using it to connect Caddx vista. Is there a possibility for you to tell me where I should connect the TBS Crossfire nano. thank you so much!!!
You just use the rx connector included with the betafpv stack. In this build he wired tx3 and rx3 to the vista because he was using it as the rx and vtx. If you are running a crossfire receiver would only need power, ground, rx1 and tx1 for the vista and you would use the 4 wire connector with 5v, gnd, tx3 and rx3 for the crossfire receiver.
I've been building for 3 years now but I still enjoy watching someone build..... Is that weird?
no im the same been building for years still watch builds on utube you can always pick up tips learn a thing or two happy flying bro
Seems like logical sense to me! We just love building :)
Same here,I love watching a good build vid😜
No
Same here. I binge whatever build videos pop up in my feed

Which ESC are you running on that build and what's the max amp draw
Hands down the best build video for FPV I have seen to date.
Build complete (for now). So sweet, thanks again!
the quality of this build video is ridiculous. Thank you Tommy 💪
What a beautiful build, I really enjoyed watching this. I can tell a lot of thought and engineering went into it. Thanks Tommy.
🤙
YESSSSSSSS
Thank you for this. Have all the guts, but this will indefinitely save me time freezing your last vids to see what you did lol

Super cool build Tommy! Really like watching you build your creations.
wow thats a sick filming platform i guess the next step would be some kind of gimbals on 5-6" quads.
I remember a flitetest video a while back where they put a gimbal on a 6" quad
Vertically mounted vista... genius idea, love it 👏 👌

Yea, that’s just years and years of building these guys, back when header pins were the norm 😂
You are truly a game changer..feel like i've struck GOLD.
Great build!!! Lots of pilots will be interested to this one 😍
Sick transition at 0:10. I'm horrified, it's perfect. 👍👍👍👍👍
as soon as i get my 95 im hitting you up!
This is alot cooler than my geprc phantom with a caddx baby turtle lol
Yo that's so sick! A digital version of the strip down GoPro tiny whoop.

Big 🏀 🏀 flyin thru those fountain hoops!!! 🔥

I try

I've been looking to build something like this for ages... Dang
Follow up on this, pulled the trigger lol
...........
Very well made build video. Tempted to build one.
duude.. you forgot to set the magnet pole number to 12 !
I got the betafpv 20a aio.. hope it fits. See everyone saying fc and esc 16a ..
Just bought the the 95x ummagawd kit 😍😍
fun fact, the stator is called the stator because it stays in place as opposed to the rotor which rotates.
This is Awesome Tommy!!!! great work and great built ! Thanks
Liked this video immediately after this amazing intro
Unreal edit wow
my dude! freakin mind reader! I've been searching for exactly this. Thanks for making this video and putting in the time to innovate!

I'm in! Although looks like I'm late, you've got none of those rcinpower motors left :'( Any ETA on those coming in Tommy?
Enjoy your amazing and beautiful flight, bro👌🏻👌🏻😎

Use good props like gemfan ducted 63mm or avan 2.5" or azure 2540
what PWM freq d and Motor timing do you use?

Great as always, love ur content bro!!!
very good
Hi Tommy, nice build. Could you also please make a built with Analog System?
Topppp Bro!!!! I'll mount this one
STRIP THE INSTA 360 GO!
tbh that thing is so light it doesn't need de-casing
@@hrhodes2768 but I think you can change the lens oriëntation and fit it inside a whoop?

@@ummagawdFPV thanks Tommy, loved the video and will try to build one but no gopro, vista will be enough 😄
Flight time ? Amazing project man ❤️😳
So clean. Thanks for all you do! Just wondering is there any way to adjust the GoPro angle after it’s built?
It’s fixed on this version. But... you can use washers to shim it if you need. It’s just not adjustable on the fly
Why not use the 20A V3 AIO from BetaFPV? wouldn't that reduce weight and space requirements?

Motor point 12 poll or 14 poll??
Because 14 poll for motor 2xxx i think.
Could a hero 8 be powered off of the same FPV power supply? It draws a bit more current than the hero 6.
I haven't tried an 8, so I can't confidently tell ya
