Thx Trying some DIY with whoops and I'm swapping the goober canopy and camera from the newbee drone blv5, to the 80mm frame , with 1102 22000kv motors ( both betafpv. The external vtx is screwed partially into the betafpv, meteor75 pro canopy. So the Goober doesn't have those screws and has a larger camera sensor, so no room for the Meteor75 's vtx. I'm going to lay it on it's own wires -plus adding some tape on the board to help insulate the vtx heat from board

Repeaters interest me as well, not sure how legal it is though. A HAM license might come in handy for FPV control signal repeater use on the amateur bands.

I think HAM has access to a special chunk of spectrum around 3300MHz that would be suitable for video transmission, but I'm not sure. Nice! I just got into fpv a couple mnths ago after watching n dreaming for a year. Picked up a used dji fpv with goggles V2 with flymore kit. I have since bought the adapter and wildfire analog modual, antennas etc, and now just orderd a radiomaster pocket elrs. (I'll order the new higher power elrs 1W modual for it when it comes out.) The goal is long range flying, so now I'm watching builds. The best part, is with a littke patience, you can slowly build up and buy components etc over time. Can't drop 2k on a whole drone setup, but 50-100 every couple weeks is do-able! Also i can now pretty much buy any ready to fly plane/glider/drone and im ready to go. (Also, AIO cheap fpv camera and stuck it on the kids rc car! 😂😂😂) Now.. this.. or.. maybe I'll check your 10" first! (Ultimately, one of each!)
what even more crazy is, that these things popped up recently, its like they locked these items for Ukraine? I also got recommended alot of KIT 7" and 10" drones with generic chinese items like these motors... its priced super low, around 150€ for 10"

everything looks great but personally i would invest a little extra money in the frame. you don't need 100$ frame or anything but just something a little stronger. You can buy 7 inch arms for the TBS Source One or i think you can even buy the 7 inch frame as a kit.
Hi. Did you use the 6s 1300kv motors with 4s battery? Was hover at 50% throttle? I want to build this drone and want to use 4s lipo and occasionally 6s li ion for long range so hopefully 6s motors will be good for me.

Ive built about 30 quadcopters in the last year and a half. Probably 17 or more have Happymodel ELRS receivers in both 2.4G and 915Mhz. All of them came with wires. I'm not sure why yours didn't. I am in the US market so maybe that's the difference? Who knows, but I've got more spare wires after 30 builds and many repairs than I'll ever use! 😂
Hey, a newbie here. I have been using a Mavic 2Pro as a fishing drone. It's good, although the limiting factor is that it is for very, very low wind only, as it carries wait, hooks, and bait out before dropping it. Would this drone be suitable or even the 10"? I have not used FPV; due to regulations, could there be a video screen (I currently use a DJI Smart Controller)? I'll look at selling the DJI, and that can fund this type of project if it is suitable. Any feedback or thoughts are welcome, whether positive or negative.

Sam...i successfully built the drone and flying really good. One thing i would like to add is the GPS but can i install an ELRS receiver in the sbus pads ? I think i need RX/TX but i only see G/V/S if i want to install in UART6 for GPS. I went with the TSIDO 60 amp stack. Let me know what you think and thanks again.

If you're going off of this build you can use a 6s battery with tx60 connectors. I think you can use a 4s battery as well but I'm not sure and haven't tried it yet. I suppose a 1000mah to a 1500mah? Those are what i have

Why did you solder the receiver to the uart channel instead of the serial bus pins? That takes up a UART port which could’ve been used to add a gps or something

Overall I like the 7inch better than 10inch actually. I get around 7 minutes of flight with the 4s 1800mah pack. I have flown it for 20 minutes on a 4s2p li-ion pack.

You would need an O3 air unit and a frame that would support it - not this frame. I'd suggest a 5" build for the O3, with maybe the speedybee mario frame

Safe to say that it weighs more than .5 lb which means it must be registered with the FAA. And by the way, long range => beyond visual sight is illegal in the USA. Also if your vtx puts out more than 25mW then you need a HAM license.
Yes they are supported in INAV, I have a 5 inch build running INAV with it. Heads up though that these cheap FCs only have three UART pads available and I needed more. I'd recommend something like a JHEMCU GF30F405 that is still pretty cheap but has more UARTs broken out for INAV

FCC ELRS is the best. LBT ELRS is fine, you can re-flash it to be the FCC version

I used a 4s 1800mah from CNHL. I think a 4-6s 2200mah would be good too

Will this build work with the DJI goggles and controller 3? Also, can a gps be added for return to home in case of signal loss?

I'm not a huge fan of ordering lipos through Aliexpress, it can take a long time. If you live in the USA, Amazon has lots of 4s ~2000mah options

Safe to say that it weighs more than .5 lb which means it must be registered with the FAA. And by the way, long range => beyond visual sight is illegal in the USA. Also if your vtx puts out more than 25mW then you need a HAM license.

Yes they are supported in INAV, I have a 5 inch build running INAV with it. Heads up though that these cheap FCs only have three UART pads available and I needed more. I'd recommend something like a JHEMCU GF30F405 that is still pretty cheap but has more UARTs broken out for INAV
