- I'm a high school history teacher, and with Call of Duty Black Ops 6 just around the corner, now is the perfect time to go back and play the older games. In this video I'll explain the historical context behind the events and places featured in the original Call of Duty Black Ops. If you enjoy this video subscribe for more!

This is awesome the fact you're a teacher too
This game also has an odd mix of 80's tech
And a 2011 Jeep Wrangler
It was originally meant to be set in the 80s like Black Ops Cold War but it was changed during development to include the Vietnam War
@@Railhog2102 Black Ops 7 leading up to 2025 is gonna be so funny
@@Otterdisappointment Same and ironic at the same time
You should do this for other games too, it's a great and unique way to do a retrospective/retelling of a game
Shit man I came across a hidden gem of a channel. You’re gonna be big. You should do assassins creed videos like this! Idk if you have I’m gonna check haha
Great video! It was put together very well, easy to follow, and has a ton of info!
hell yeah bro amazing video you should do cold war and explain the real history of the gulf war and we can see what bits of history they throw in the campaign. Or you could do it after you complete the bo6 campaign.
Please more! I enjoyed the historical thought added to the game and giving of what actually happens versus the fictional events.
Cool video, but it’s Mack-nah-mara
I really enjoyed this, ill definitely watch your other videos!
If you want to go over a game that covers mk ultra, the outlast series is a good place to start
This is some great content. Maybe take a look at Battlefield 1 soon?
I wish I had you as a teacher
Same quality as a 500k+ subscriber channel. Great video! Probably my favorite CoD of all time
super cool video! thanks for making this, i love history and campaigns in games so this was a great two for one watch.
Hope your students enjoyed this
13:25 my case and point about the soviets/bolsheviks
You’re definitely the Coolest teacher in the school.
half the video = history
other half = just lore
Russia *rigging* elections? Whaaaaaattt???
You should do the metal gear games
"friendly government" yeah, one that favours US imperialist foreign policy as opposed to Castro who wanted social reform and responsibility of the welfare of his people.
If you want to continue chronologically, cover the half of black ops 2 that continues the mason and woods storyline and then go to black ops 6
Alucard hears the blackbird do you even read my Christmas list
What a spectacular video! I love how you use the different scores of the game in context with what's happening on-screen as well. Excellent deep dive!
Kruschev actually closed the Gulags thankfully after taking power in 1953 as part of Destalinzation in the late 50s going into 60s
I want to point out that as a railfan when the Vietnam War in 1975 America was badly dented and reeling from division stirred up by the war and the Watergate Scandal which Richard Nixon was impeached, A stockbroker named Ross Rowland came up with the idea of the steam powered American Freedom Train to celebrate upcoming US bicentennial in 1976 after the turmoil of the 60s and 70s especially during Vietnam. This train carried artifacts about American history and treasures about the 200 year existence of the United States and did well touring all 48 states
Excellent video, I didn't remember a lot of things and missions of this BO and watching this video refreshed my memory
so glad you mentioned the gulf of Tonkin incident being a lie. was just about to type a comment about it LOL
This needs millions of views. Investing early. Great video
Excellent video. Did miss the chance to gi over number stations but you went onto MK Ultra pretty well and its use in the game
Badass video, can’t wait for the BO:Cold War coverage!
