I thought that everyone talking about "him" but never saying Kang's name or revealing his face did a great job making it really scary waiting for his reveal
When the ending was mirroring the beginning, I was worried that it was going to be an alternate timeline. But I like that Scott is worried about if that Kang is really gone. Because, it does seem like it was a bit too easy to beat him.

I liked how they incorporated MODOK into the MCU and the audience in my theatre seemed to love him. What I don’t understand is how they never said or mention ‘stature’ in any way.
With how troublesome one Kang was, I think the only way to beat an army is to turn them against each other. Because it’ll be virtually impossible to beat them by force, or strategy considering they know the future and all possibilities
I loved the probability storm scene, felt like a really fun and oddly emotional way to characterize Scott’s reasoning for being the hero to do this job. He really only ever has one goal in the film, and when they all snap back together I legit smiled so hard
It also parallels the particle/wave experiments "weirdness", the fact particles appear and disappear simultaneously everywhere and nowhere... It makes no fuckin sense!! Which is why it freaked out Einstein... I know it'll go over most heads, but I loved the "probability" scene where Scott & Hope essentially "Collapsed the wave function". .....love quantum physics, and this movie!!
At first when Scott was extremely tall in Quantumania I was thinking "Is he not going to get tired or anything? This is a plothole!" but then I realized that of course this is a super tiny world and being that large is pretty much nothing. However, when you think of that, it would seem there isn't really a limit to how big Scott could be, so I wonder why he chose that height?
I think it’s more so that Scott is used to the strain of being a giant, like how the more you workout the easier it gets and the more you can push yourself. Because Cassie did get exhausted and almost passed out, and they both ask for citrus. Citrus is known to help the body recover after physical activity.
Scott is going through the same thing Iron Man went through which made him so paranoid he consistently upgraded over and over and over again. I can see this with Scott evolving the Ant-man.
Another important detail, In Loki finale, while He Who Remains was explaining about everything, look closely at the 3D representation on his table, only the main variant who harnessed Alioth is wearing spectacles. Victor Timely also wears similar spectacles.
The paranoia that Scott felt at the end really reminded me of Tony's paranoia/anxiety about another attack from off world. Maybe a stretch but perhaps, an as above (space), so below (quantum realm) ??? 🤓
Did the movie feel super Star Warsy to anyone else for the first 30 minutes of them being in the quantum realm? Or is that just me lol, they even did a little “I don’t think that’s a Sun” moment, maybe referencing “that’s not a moon” Loved the movie!
The only surprise I experienced in this movie was the ants making a full frontal assault rather than sneaking around sabotaging the ship while Kang was distracted…but it was still one of the better Marvel movies lately.
I like how the suit grows out of the center, indicating that Lang based his nanotech on pym particles, and the suit is being physically shrunk and grown out of the puck
I think the ants falling into that time zone where they aged 1000 years in a day is going to have a major role later in phase 5. Like what if there is a Kang variant in the time zone as well just gaining all the knowledge ever known to all living creatures. Maybe just maybe he would be the real next “Big Bad” and not the entirety of Kang Dynasty…… either way I think the short lived story of the ants living 1000 years in one day will have a bigger role later wether it’s the ants themselves or someone else.
As Voss said. He's not dead and probably will be the last villain the Avengers have to defeat in the Secret Wars. Remember, the other Kangs exiled him because they were afraid of him, He is the most powerful Kang, The Ultimate Conqueror
@@intisarmehbubkhanramim7650 yup, and u kinda think he may he prime Kang. I'm less sure about him being he who remains nmthough now that I rewatched those bits of loki.
@@wintermute7378 Exactly. He has that calm determination and seriousness in him that makes me wonder if he is the prime Kang. Kind of a No Nonsense Ruler. And also He Who Remains didn't have facial scars though.
All the Scott’s uniting on the same thought reminds me of when Neo and all his possible thoughts united into one when the Architect of The Matrix had him choose between the entire World and Trinity. Nostalgia 🥹
This was a fun movie. 💛 Kangs buildup throughout the first 45minutes, the Lang family dynamics, Quantum realm, the visuals. Paul Rudd was surprisingly the highlight for me. Kang was badass. I'm glad he was just another variant. Not the REAL Kang. The 2 credits scenes. True, I would've wanted a more vicious Kang but this version was intimidating too. And M.O.D.O.K. 😂 They tried though. I liked with the Mask on. Overall, it was a 7/10 for me. 💛
I loved MODOK. It was impossible to make it not look ridiculous but Marvel Studios clearly thought “screw it, if we’re gonna do we have to go all in”. His personality was perfect too.
Didn't they mention in the movie that there are layers of the Quantum realm (or maybe sizes) - so when Scott went down for the particles for Ghost, maybe he wasn't in the layer/size of where Kang was?
Does Scott growing big inside the Quantum realm really count, against the times he grew large in the main universe, like isn't he tecnically still small, given that he is in a place that is quite small
And then it makes no sense for Cassie to be hungry and wanting citrus. Technically they should be supercharged with a lot of energy in the quantum realm
I really like the end dialogue it gave off 'little misfortune' and 'Stanley parable' vibes both really good games about not being fully in controll of your actions
@@gotone2513yes I know the drama was a rough, but I hope Marvel manages to give him another chance cause he was falsely accused during the Jabbari trial.
I think that Kang The Conqueror and He Who Remains are one and the same. He Who Remains mentions that he thought his over Variants (The Kang Dynasty) and mentioned that he'll always end up where he is at the end. To me that implies he's the Conqueror who defeated the Kang Dynasty and implemented the TVA to stop those variants appearing again and stop incursions
It would be really cool to see how we were so mistaken to think that he was the villain when he, actually, was the hero. He was the only key to avoid tons of Kangs destroying the natural flow of time. And just like Thanos, his intention was pure but his ways to achieve the goals wasn't so humane.
Honestly I loved this movie, I was scared that it was going to be a train wreck due to the reviews but clearly they didn't see the same movie because I loved it, it was amazing
If you looked closely when Janet was finding 616 in kangs computer, you could see how a) there has been a nexus event and our timeline is branching out and B) you can assume 838 is beside it because it’s growing out with another universe (due too an incursion).
Just watched the movie! Phase 5 started with a bang! I loved Jonathan Major’s performance as Kang! The movie was also a break from the usual marvel we get nowadays.
I was hoping for more Kang screentime in this film. I know we're going to get a LOT more of him & his variants in the future, but I was hoping he'd get more screentime in Quantumania.
@@FlipFlopGod And then people will complain that it's really a Kang movie like how some people reacted to Wanda in Multiverse of Madness (or WandaVision Season 2🙄).
While I do think he was in it a lot, I think I get what you mean. Despite how present he is in the movie, it felt like there was something missing in his story. We're told how he ends up in the QR and how him and Janet meet, but were not shown or told much about him before that. We don't really know what kind of world he comes from, how the other variants were able to exile him, how different and much smarter he is than others from his home world, how he came into contact with his varients the first time, etc etc there's def a lot more of his origin and where he comes from that they could have shown. Like I think about Thanos in infinity war, you really get a lot of information about what he'd been doing up to that point, what his home planet was like, how and why he started his conquest for the infinity stones, he felt really flushed out and his motivations were understandable. We don't really get that feeling with Kang. We know he's a conquerer, but why does he want to conquer? What in his past makes him feel like he has to do what he does? Idk maybe I just missed it in the movie but I feel like there could have been more to him
I think the ten rings are kang tech. Circles/rings are used by kang for everything. His ship, the power core for his ship, the gigantic version of his ship he was gonna use to take over everything. Hell, even his language is circles (can be seen in the movie). They also give the user longer life; in other words, it helps them master time. I think the signal they're putting off at the end of shang-chi is a signal to a kang variant, maybe signaling a change in ownership? That they're no longer in possession of who that kang variant put his trust in. A more meta reason, is the kang dynasty avengers movie is going to be directed by none other than shang-chi's director
The exposition given in the beginning of Shang-Chi mentions one of the possible origins of the rings being from a tomb. Which would be cool if it linked with Rama-Tut
When Kang gets pushed back to the core a second time by Hope, we see Kang split or shrink into two Kangs (similar to the shrinking effect when the heroes reduce in size). It's on screen for a split second
I watched this movie today and I loved it! Was hilarious, engaging, and was a good story overall. Wasn’t perfect by any means, but overall enjoyed the majority
Same. I enjoyed the movie and I am a fan of Johnathan Majors run in Hollywood. We lost Chadwick too soon so I just want to enjoy the story and buildup. I'm excited for the next Avengers movies.
Another fact is that by being stuck in that storm, The Conqueror would master how to control hundreds of Kangs, thus giving him the experience against the Council of Kang.
I don’t know why everyone is saying this movie was bad I really enjoyed it I actually love the idea how yellow jacket doesn’t die and rebirths and Kang was shocking to me throughout the movie I wondered how there going to stop him as he’s so powerful he pretty much is Darth Vader without the lightsabour instead of that he also has tech armour and a really high understanding of time loved the character one of the best villains in the h
I honestly said out loud during the beginning of the third act “now how are they going to ‘realistically’ take out Kang?” I really didn’t see an end lol
This movie was amazing 👏 so cool how they made it with a star wars kind of vibe , never expected to be like that, and the build up of kang was awesome he was a beast, and well mostly was more of a kang movie than antman but so good
The scene where Scott was all big and being surrounded by ships and then was saved by those freedom fighters was straight out of Skywalker Saga but done right. I’m pretty sure the line “They actually came” was ripped right from that scene.
I just realised that reed richards entrance into multiverse of madness via a blue square rising and him appearing was the same entrance as all the kangs in the dynasty of kangs shots. Hinting more at his Nathaniel Richards roots.
It was wierd how this Kang was, because usually Kang has a time machine in his suit, but this one uses a ship to travel, and ants were able to kind of get through Kang's force field, because Kang's force field in the comics has tanked attacks from Thor's hammer, Eternals I think, Hercules, Namor, and even the Silver Surfer's attacks, so I feel like Kang's force field should have been way more powerful.
Was really let down by this film. Loved Kang's portrayal, but not the portrayal of his threat. Getting defeated the way he did made little to no sense to me.
@@Alex-tq1qr Because he's not the big bad Kang. Kang is all about his variants dying leaving you to realize there's still more of him. This is like thanos sending his goons, but instead Kang sends his own variations. The threat will come just like there was no serious threat in phase 1, there really wasn't a serious threat until Thanos showed up. Likely will be the same here.
I was having a similar opinion as many others on this movie disliking it thinking that it was awful and Kang was weak as hell, but after watching it, I appreciated it more and saw things differently, and well, damn Kang is genuinely terrifying.
My issue with Janet aging is that they specifically said in the movie, as you quote @9:02, "It's a place outside of time and space." Unless I'm misunderstanding this part, Janet shouldn't have aged normally.
Anyone gonna talk about the fight between Xolom and Kang??? Literally Shang-Chi fighting Wenwu without the rings. I’m convinced the rings are a multiverse portal.
I saw this movie today and yesterday and I don’t see what the bad reviews were about. I’m happy Kang had limited time until the end because we don’t need too much right now. We still have 2 full phases to go here!
Was this a setup by kang from the beginning ? Looking at how easy he was beat, and also how Scott questioned if kang was really dead. It makes me think that he saw his own version of his future just as janet did when they fixed his ship. Out of all the ways, he probably found this the easiest way to escape, nobody would come looking.
Easy? He overwhelmed Scott complately and only lost because he underestimated Scott's cleverness. Remember he's not a superpowered villian he's a tech based one, with pretty advanced tech granted but still all that was stripped away by the end of that fight leaving him with only his hand to hand skills. He thought very little of Scott and paid the price for it.
@@Cloud-dt6xb Right? EASILY??? It took like 3 civilizations and the toppling of a HUGE structure, and even then he wasn't dead at that point apparently...
more and more i'm starting to think that the 10 rings are kang tech that he left in the past- the look of his ship in this just really reminded me of that
The circular style of writing also reminds me of written Gallifreyan which could be a nod to the time travel of it all being the language of the TIME Lords of course… I would think Kang sees himself as a Lord of Time and probably has a lot in common with those high and mighty Time Lords that the Doctor rebels against with his more compassionate and individualistic approach to time and saving people
Cgi was wonky a lil and the plot could be messy at times but this was the first marvel movie in a while where I didn't mind the humor at all and the visuals were awesome
One thing I want to point out, when Scott grows to "over 450' tall", he isn't big. He's still EXTREMELY small! Everything in the Quantum Realm is soooooo miniscule, that's the point. So Scott is still extremely tiny!

I loved how How Scott handled his clones. It could be foreshadowing how the Kang Dynasty problem can be solved.
Wholesome❤️
It also parallels the particle/wave experiments "weirdness", the fact particles appear and disappear simultaneously everywhere and nowhere... It makes no fuckin sense!!
Which is why it freaked out Einstein... I know it'll go over most heads, but I loved the "probability" scene where Scott & Hope essentially "Collapsed the wave function".
.....love quantum physics, and this movie!!
One of my favourite scenes in the movie!
@@F76CC Yeah I think you’re right
Scott asks for an orange slice in Civil War after he came down from being big in the airport scene while lying exhausted
Kang really carried this movie he was so menacing and he felt so raw.
I give it a 7-8/10, I really enjoyed it a LOT and I’m super excited for PHASE 5 !

I knew the thing that would allow Scott to pass through the probability storm was that every version of him would choose to save his daughter.

Or is that just me lol, they even did a little “I don’t think that’s a Sun” moment, maybe referencing “that’s not a moon”
Loved the movie!
100% it did. The red ants vs. the blue quantumnauts battle reminded me of the storm trooper battle scenes. I loved the Star Wars vibe personally.
The whole movie did and I really enjoyed it since the realm is supposed to be outside of time and space yet is still effected by them
Yes. I didn't mind it though.
I like how Kang’s arc is spread across the Multiverse Saga, unlike Thanos’ who’s arc was only really explored in Infinity War.

@@FlipFlopGod Maybe he just finds it funny?
I think the ants falling into that time zone where they aged 1000 years in a day is going to have a major role later in phase 5. Like what if there is a Kang variant in the time zone as well just gaining all the knowledge ever known to all living creatures. Maybe just maybe he would be the real next “Big Bad” and not the entirety of Kang Dynasty…… either way I think the short lived story of the ants living 1000 years in one day will have a bigger role later wether it’s the ants themselves or someone else.
To me it just seemed like an easy way to explain how and why the ants could help.
Not only do I think this Kang is isn't dead, but I think he is the kang that would eventually be He Who Remains.
As Voss said. He's not dead and probably will be the last villain the Avengers have to defeat in the Secret Wars. Remember, the other Kangs exiled him because they were afraid of him, He is the most powerful Kang, The Ultimate Conqueror
He will not be he who remains

This was a fun movie. 💛
Kangs buildup throughout the first 45minutes, the Lang family dynamics, Quantum realm, the visuals.
He is the real Kang he just lost but he knows how he gets out
What Kang buildup? just talking and absolutely zero development...
There's more kangs to come if you watched the post credits.
The post credits weren’t kang. They were his variants with different names
I noticed in the end M.O.D.O.K took off his helmet to imply that he isn’t in Kang’s control anymore. It’s also more comic accurate.
I loved MODOK. It was impossible to make it not look ridiculous but Marvel Studios clearly thought “screw it, if we’re gonna do we have to go all in”. His personality was perfect too.
Well said. My son and I looked at each other and were like “it’s weird, creepy, and kinda icky, but I can’t look away 😆
I agree 😂
Yeah I definitely appreciate the braveness putting a ridiculous looking character in live action
I also liked modok he was a bit too comedic but I did enjoy him more than I thought i would've
Didn't they mention in the movie that there are layers of the Quantum realm (or maybe sizes) - so when Scott went down for the particles for Ghost, maybe he wasn't in the layer/size of where Kang was?
Well yea they showed it
I don’t know why people think they can understand it. The multiverse and timelines in the MCU are inconsistent, so is the quantum realm
When Scott went down for Ghost, he accidentally fell into the time vortex. This time they all fell into the normal Q Realm.
@@FlipFlopGod idk why you think they can't make an explanation of it
Scott had only been in the void like Janet said, the realm where they were on during the movie was a step further.
Does Scott growing big inside the Quantum realm really count, against the times he grew large in the main universe, like isn't he tecnically still small, given that he is in a place that is quite small
But his technology can be used in the quantum realm
It's all relative.
@@atharvasharma777 Yeah it still works but he's still subatomic. He's not 400ft tall in the quantum realm
And then it makes no sense for Cassie to be hungry and wanting citrus. Technically they should be supercharged with a lot of energy in the quantum realm
No he’s small. If a foot is a foot then they are the same size as original
I really like the end dialogue it gave off 'little misfortune' and 'Stanley parable' vibes both really good games about not being fully in controll of your actions
I couldn't be more excited for the Kang Dynasty cause Jonathan Majors did such a good job!!!
How bout now?
@@gotone2513yes I know the drama was a rough, but I hope Marvel manages to give him another chance cause he was falsely accused during the Jabbari trial.
I think that Kang The Conqueror and He Who Remains are one and the same. He Who Remains mentions that he thought his over Variants (The Kang Dynasty) and mentioned that he'll always end up where he is at the end. To me that implies he's the Conqueror who defeated the Kang Dynasty and implemented the TVA to stop those variants appearing again and stop incursions
you may be on to something because he who remains said ive been called a ruler a conqueror
...FYI thats exactly why he is called He Who Remains. 👍

One thing to note about the probability storm Scott was that they were building a bridge like ants do. They worked together like ants.
If you looked closely when Janet was finding 616 in kangs computer, you could see how a) there has been a nexus event and our timeline is branching out and B) you can assume 838 is beside it because it’s growing out with another universe (due too an incursion).

He literally had so much screen time wdym
That's why they were blue!!
I noticed that when they first put thr trailer out!!! I was like.. hmm🤔 those rings look familiar
The exposition given in the beginning of Shang-Chi mentions one of the possible origins of the rings being from a tomb. Which would be cool if it linked with Rama-Tut

Anyone else having issues with lag on the video?
Exactly!
🤔 Hmmm, maybe
@@Cloud-dt6xb Yeah scott got his ass kicked the whole movie, but he was willing to give everything to keep his daughter safe, even his life.
@@Cloud-dt6xb Right? EASILY??? It took like 3 civilizations and the toppling of a HUGE structure, and even then he wasn't dead at that point apparently...
Quick question - what if the council were referring to the death of "He who remains" rather than "Kang the conqueror"? 😲
more and more i'm starting to think that the 10 rings are kang tech that he left in the past- the look of his ship in this just really reminded me of that
Ok, thank God I'm not the only one experiencing the lag.
7/10. Solid movie not too high not too low. A very entertaining start to Phase 5 and beyond. Definitely go see it.
