you rebuilt a motorcycle with just a angle grinder and a welding machine. that's what make it so fucking beautiful. you don't need a $200,000 workshop to make a nice-looking custom bike
Thank you, everyone is praising this build and all I can see is his complete inability to weld. There was not a single bead in any weld all he did was temp tack welds.
You can't run beads with a stick welder on material that thin.. you'll just burn straight through everything. He seems to be stitch welding.. he'll likely be getting good penetration so very likely it's safe. Personally I'd rather risk a few fully penetrated stitch welds than full cold mig beads
i have loads of respect for you for actually wearing steel toe shoes and gloves ii see so many videos of people doing it in flipflops and a tanktok and shorts nothing else
wow bravo, this is perfect for poeple like me who are beginner-semi-handy who dont have a whole workshop at home like every other youtuber out there who seem who own a complete proffesinal workshop with paintbooth and welding machines and lifts and what not. Thank you so mutch for this video @ Restore & Rebuild you showed everyone that it can be done, where there is a will there is a way. Thumbs up!
I have been rebuilding and customizing motorcycles out of my apartment. I only have a little 10 foot by 6 foot yard I work in. No welders, no air compressor or lifts. All done with basic hand tools for the most part. Its doable and something I had planned on making a channel about. I have done all the work myself, aside from welding when its needed ( which has only been 1 bike so far ) which I will take it to someone that has the ability to do that until I am able to get one myself. All self taught through trial and error as well as videos, forums and service manuals.
PÁ!!!! Queimou os zói, o couro, mas fez uma motoca do carái!!!! Parabéns!!! Ficou muito legal!!!! Que venha a próxima!!!!! Burn tha eyes, skin, but make a f...great bike!!!!!Cheers!!! Waiting for the next!!!!
Even with no important structure, you made something beautiful and I'd lower the handle bars for me, I'm tall. I'd go for split handles attached to the top of the suspension, it'd give you a more sporty position and in my opinion a better handling. GREAT JOB!!!
The guy is a wizard obviously he’s been doing this since he was 12 if you know what you doing great but if you don’t know how to change a tire it’s a pipe dream😌Excellent work
I know there is a saying ' if you don't have to say something positive, don't say anything at all, but what you have done is take a perfectly nice and usable bike, and made it less so. A good seat, fenders, they are there for a reason.
That is without doubt one of the nastiest, jankiest builds I’ve ever seen. The hit and hope welding, expanding foam, drainpipe on the pod filters, “somewhere about there” approach to the lights. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
I had to stop partway through because I used to work in steel construction (drafter, I was responsible making the blueprints and included in that was labelling all required welding) and I just could not handle those welds. They weren't even good tacks, let alone clean beads. And the sheer number of blatant safety violations made my head hurt. Even if he was doing it himself and not as an employee, that was so incredibly careless.
Save up for a welding course so you can weld it together after it rattles it's self apart 5 mins down the road, But in all still an interesting video 👍
@@colheg3113 did you not read the title or people like you are just obsessed with spreading hatred? To the Makers: you guys did an awesome work. Keep it up!
those welds though..... some of those welds could kill someone. Spray foam??? took me back to 99 when my old boss wanted to construct a cabin with out nails or screws, but using spray foam.. would glue that sucker together..... brought me back and gave me a chuckle... thanks for that
You forgot to mention to weld a continuous bead. Stick welding is the cheapest it gets in welding, GMAW would have been a better fit. I doubt he researched the frame material to verify if he needed to heat treat or not. Scary shit.
Amazing work! Great skills with all the parts and tools. The paint job is my favorite part. The new bike looks much better than the original. If I may suggest, the tank could look better than it does with the blue (or maybe the project wasn't done yet). Congrats from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil!
the tank looks pretty bad . He obviously doesnt know how to wrap and blue isnt a good matching color. Since he can paint i dont know why he didnt just paint. Also the upside down mirrors ruin the look so much
@@johnd.7178 I think the gloss blue looks nice with the matte black. Yes the wrap job wasn't as good as his painting abilities, but obviously the benefit of wrapping the tank is it's a layer of protection and can always be taken off and redone according to what the owner desires.
the bike looks wonderful but i have one question ... the motorcycle is still in one piece ?? I must say that this welding is very bad. my dad called it punching before real welding. I didn't notice that you even processed the place after welding, you just covered it with the body of the filler after which you repainted it. maybe I'm wrong. I do not know
Holy SPOT TACK!!! I really hope this was done just as a conversation piece. Plz don’t ride that thing or allow ANYONE else to. I’ve welded under some of the toughest procedures there are working in the oil and gas industry and WTF!!!???😳 Nothing is actually welded!!!! Fill putty and bondo isn’t how you JOIN two pieces of metal!!!! WOW!!!

Unless you knew the finished product was going to be way better than the original !!! I'd be thinking long and hard before cutting a frame up with a grinder !! Sorry I can't watch this !! Expanding foam Really ???
Not a work bench a vice, a pipe bender plasma cutter or anything fancy what a grinder a hammer a couple of screw drivers a tiny welder and a knife What fun
After watching this video m so motivated to build something. So, m gonna turn my bicycle into CBR 1000R.
Nice joke
That would be dreams!!
Oi
lol. Dude, watch Thailand's motorize BMX. It's much easier and way way way cheaper.
🤣🤣
It feels like there's no measuring done and just doing whatever that works, that's amazing.
I appreciate your tenacity in reconfiguring this bike into what you wanted it to be. You obviously have done this level of work before.
people like him make me wish i had that talent
So little tools and so brilliant work. You are genius. One of the best rebuild videos I`ve seen.

I don't even know if he had a welding machine - the stick welder would work off a car battery easily enough! It's fantastic.
With those welds most likely when this thing hits the ground or crashes it’s coming apart for sure.

I really respect the handcraft work and you are amazing!

great tutorial on what not to do

I love this dudes can do attitude. He’s just like fuck it I’m making this happen. No fancy shit needed.
Definitely an interesting use of bondo, not sure how I feel about those welds though.
An endless amount of poorly done tacks.

That’s what I was thinking. Those welds made my brain hurt
Watching shit like that makes my brain itch. Guarantee he offers to do welding work for other people too.

What a satisfying rebuild! Personally I would've had a black tank ;)
Looked better standard. Better tyres fir sure, idiots and their knobblies.

I need a Patreon link! A set of air tools does wonders. An impact, die grinder, sander, and HVLP gun could really unleash some creativity.
that welding id hate to hit a pothole at speed but resourceful and a nice looking bike at the end.

I feel the same
It definitely gave me ideas
Si
Ummm, maybe
I think a green to match the exhaust wraps
I hope he went back and finished those welds.
Edit
Nevermind, he just packed them with bondo. I'm sure it's just as good as a real weld.
Parabéns ficou irado !!! Adorei o projeto!!!
Like it !! The Yamaha single-cylinder bikes place a premium on rider ability over sheer horsepower. Excellent on winding mountain roads...
Enjoyed the whole video. Amazing build!
thank you my friend...
Ugh beautiful I would buy that in a heart beat
I love your work! Tip from a welder though: MIG welding is cheaper and easier to use and looks really good compared to stick.
