This video feels WAY longer than 4 minutes, in a good way! You packed more content into 3 minutes and 46 seconds than some youtubers fit into 25 minutes. Fabulous video! It just gained you a subscriber.
High quality video man, I wish it was longer and more in depth! Would love to see the process of how everything came together, how you restored the tank, how you did all the wiring, what parts you used (brand of headlight & seat), and more footage of the bike!
Cool video. To all those arguing about making the original bike was better/worse, it is all about making the bike "Yours". Those who truly love bikes already know this. One suggestion, I'd like to make to those who may attempt this, make sure the bike you want to buy, actually runs well. If the seller claims it wouldn't start due to dead battery or some lame excuse, bring your own spare battery or battery jumper to see if you can actually start the bike to minimize the chance or getting a real POS that will create additional headache, time and money on the project.
@@chinocreations8571 absolutely lol! Since my comment, I found out the hard way with 70s Yamahas with gashed frames and kickstarts. After the first layer it built my confidence.
guys with all the tools and skills making things look "easy". A simple fabrication of a couple of steel extenders for my cruiser and reinstalling the rear lights took one entire day
That really looks sharp. I'd only add two things: Preston Petty fenders. The fenderless look works for cafe racers, but if you don't want dirt and mud burying the bike and you, gotta have fenders. A dirt bike looks strange with out dirt filters.
Your comparison was to street trackers but all you have is a dirt bike-- no tags, no insurance-- you still have to haul it to and from the trail. By the way, it looks sharp as hell.
I'm about to do the same thing but mine is a 95 KLX 250 and is going to be a street only bike with rims, fuel tank and front end of a Suzuki Intruder 125.
wow man that is so cool. i didnt know there was a name for that style. and i thought it could only be done on certain bikes. i guess it only takes a little frame reconstruction.
Great look man, that tank restore was extremely impressive. Did you install an alternator for the battery or is it really just more "emergency" use lighting? I wonder what kind of run time you could get without recharging it with a stator/alternator?
Thanks man! Was definitely a fun project! No alternator but the light is LED so the battery drain is minimal. I would charge the day before a ride and it would last me the full day. You could always upgrade the battery to Lithium Ion to get even more run time.
If the engine was black too than it would look like it was built that way from factory. This makes me wanna get a dirt bike just to make it into a cafe racer style bike, i love the style that they are.
Austin's Problem's I’ll definitely have to consider that, I’m not sure if engine enamel paint will hold up to sand blasting off road but I’ll look into it 👍
Subscribed!!! I recently tried flat tracking and I got such a buzz off it (first on Honda CRF100Fs to learn then onto a Harley Davidson Street Rod!) I wanted to make my own flat tracker out of a little ybr125 or cg125. Do you think these types of bikes are suitable as a donor bike or would a dirt bike be my best bet? Absolutely loved this video. Thumbs up!!!!
Awesome video brother, I’m Building Cafe Racers on my channel and about to start a Scrambler/Tracker on a budget soon with a full price breakdown like you did. Love your video and editing skills :) who is doing the filming when you where riding the bike? Those were some bad ass shots!
Another thing to add. These bikes are great for folks who want a custom bike , but have limited $$$ and skills. Every bike I've started on seems to draw good people out that have good ideas and skills to share. A young Buck should tell others what his plan is and try to get in with others to find ,get ,or borrow parts from. Most people who build and ride these beast just like working , building on them and are happy to help a new friend to get the wind whipping on their knees.
Luke Henderson No, they’re all different depending on the model. You’ll have to fab mounts. Just make sure the tank is wide enough for the backbone of the bike frame.
You should of got something like an old xr600r or 650l or XT. Something that already has that basic shape you probably would of had to do les welding and cutting that way but there's always next time if you decide to make another one
Oh yeah! That would’ve been great! But I had literally NO money for this project. So whatever bike I got it had to be dirt cheap and need little to no work to run, so I could jump in and modify. Mainly this was for proof of concept. 😉👍
This is awesome! What do you think about installing some phaux (fake) shocks in the back & painting the arm from the frame to the back sprocket black, so it blends in a bit more? Seems like 125 is a bit small, a 250 might be better on the street as well
Shut up, I did do my own mod and now I'm poor having to look up budget stabilizers! Jokes aside nice work, made it look easy. Came for the gimbal, stayed for the bike.
Yeah so lucky! Where I live, people wouldn't charge less than 400 for that bike, and I'm so jealous of all the people finding actual vintage bikes for under a grand.
you just have to look harder and know the right people. i got a running 1978 yamaha dt250 for 100 bucks, it didn't have any of the lights or switches though
Subbed. Also thanks for putting in the desc how much it all costed to make this, I also plan on turning my dirt bike into a vintage look so I can ride it anywhere without buying a new one.
Hey man I really love your work. It inspired me to make my old moped run again. Can you tell me more details about how you did all the electrics? I want to do something simiilar but i don't know how. Hope you answer
Szejmi Hey bro! Glad you liked it! The lights were all wired to a separate battery in the canvas bag under the seat. Headlight/taillights wired to a typical switch on the handle bars and the brake light is wired to the microswitch in the rear brake handle. All electrics are wired to a single cutoff switch to I can toggle between day/night riding. Battery has to be charged manually obviously since the bike doesn’t have a stator
This video feels WAY longer than 4 minutes, in a good way! You packed more content into 3 minutes and 46 seconds than some youtubers fit into 25 minutes. Fabulous video! It just gained you a subscriber.
Thanks man!!!! 🙌
SO BEAUTIFUL! teach me senpai .D
Great point this is exactly what I like to see
kinda liked the original wasted orange of the tank but hey the result looks awesome!
Yeah, honestly, I probably would have just sanded it a little, and clear coat all of that story-telling goodness.
Tristan Wilder tbh I would have went with a much darker grey
Yeah orange was better...
I was just coming down here to say the same thing.
same here...
High quality video man, I wish it was longer and more in depth! Would love to see the process of how everything came together, how you restored the tank, how you did all the wiring, what parts you used (brand of headlight & seat), and more footage of the bike!
"make your own" that is message we need. Thank you!
Cool video. To all those arguing about making the original bike was better/worse, it is all about making the bike "Yours". Those who truly love bikes already know this.

Turco949 👍 Great suggestion
-Shouldn’t be too hard
* 2 mins in *
-Now I’m going to use my welder
Welding is not hard and you can get used ones for free or next to nothing or get a friend to weld it
If your making a custom bike you should already be planning to weld🤣
@@chinocreations8571 absolutely lol! Since my comment, I found out the hard way with 70s Yamahas with gashed frames and kickstarts. After the first layer it built my confidence.
i want absolutly others videos with this bike please! This is the best scrambler video
this is truly inspirational and i thank you so very much for giving me an idea of what to do with my childhood dirt bike!!!!!!
your channel is pro. Keep putting out vids like this and you'll get your subs up. Good luck man, I enjoyed this so much!
Super inspirational, man! And great story telling! Also a super cool bike!
isnt it COOL??
Great build man!! I also love the sunset view! That's dope!
KINGINAMOTO THANKS!!!
guys with all the tools and skills making things look "easy". A simple fabrication of a couple of steel extenders for my cruiser and reinstalling the rear lights took one entire day
I came here to bitch at you for ruining a Yamaha dirtbike, but upon seeing that this was some off brand bike props to you sir. Good job!
Alex Khoroshilov Build on a budget bro!!! 😂👍 I needed something to do
Great video! Instantly inspired; already on Craigslist! Keep up the good work!
Legoinmyfoot That’s Awesome!!!!!
I have watched this video 6 TIMES, NO JOKE THIS IS GREAT!!
I can see the future, this channel is going to be massive.
You mean , you can see the past. The dirt bike was the future 😂😂
🤯 major inception going on rn
"don't have the cash to buy one" ...dude you have a 5 grand toolkit, a 10 grand car and a huge garage (ie, huge house), you got dis!!
That car is waaaaay over 10 grand!
Yeah because he wants to spend another 15k on one of this vintage bikes
He probably made his tools from scratch, then built his house with them, and then rebuilt a go-cart into that car ;)
Tocko Efterbliven Yes!! 😂👌 exactly
Anyone can afford anything, just not everything ;)
Great job!! Your video skills are top notch too.
Awesome video!
I freaking love the look of these bikes. Sick video man!
Yooooooo this is straight fire !!! Great work !!
Very cool and you still get the modern ride and reliability
Congratulations!!! You tripped the value of that dirt bike
Nicely done and awesome when you were riding with the sunset behind you
Just watched this in 2020 and it’s awesome I wish I had the smarts and stuff to do that!😎
Lance Bowers Hey! Best way to learn is try! Just start somewhere!
WOOOWWW you made this look so fucking easy!! Love this
Good job, stunning looks!
Great build! Impressive with the limited budget.
Very nice! I did the same because I share the same idea. Keep up the great work!
Thanks. Very useful for scrambler building!
That really looks sharp. I'd only add two things: Preston Petty fenders. The fenderless look works for cafe racers, but if you don't want dirt and mud burying the bike and you, gotta have fenders. A dirt bike looks strange with out dirt filters.
Wait you only have 811 subs but yet you do these amazing videos?!?!
2k now :P
I know right?
Great production value.
*5.1* *k* *now*
*5.3 k now*
5.5k
Totally going to do this and make it street legal with a 83 Yamaha 500 I'm buying used for 450! Love it so much
this is a big inspiration for me.
blue105 That’s Awesome!!!
Same
I am probably going to buy a Tao Tao 140 and do this to it
Thats awesome, especially because it still works like a dirt bike instead of the normal scrambler that hurts to hit bumps on.
Love the final result! 😍😍🤘🏼👊🏼👏🏼
Awesome work man! That thing looks great!
dude that is sick! how much steel fab skill would you say is needed for a build like this?
Danny A Thanks man! Just basic cutting, bending and welding!
Absolutely love it!!!
Danny A non get a mate with skills to help
sick landy dude
Trivia Studios Thanks!!
Loving the budget tracker movement.
Dude, this is awesome! Nice work!! Makes me miss my old 2001 YZ125! I'm slowly building up an old Honda CB750 on my channel.
The Moto Barn That’s awesome!! I’ll check it out!
Thanks man! I'd love for you and anyone here to subscribe! I'll be putting another video out this weekend!
I know what im gonna do this summer!
Thanks buddy, it looks great!
My first bike was a 125 dirt runner. Loved that bike and wish I still had it.
awesome! crazy how much used bike prices have increased during and post covid!
As an owner of a 80s Kawasaki i must say that looks pretty good
you're an inspiration man 💪
Brother you have mad skills. Thumbs ☝.
the tank in the OG state was fine, i would clear coated ithe whole thing and that's it, awesome build
At least 2 weeks of work condensed into 4 minutes
Dodek72 #truth
This is great. I will put this on my to do list. I love it.
That FU MANCHU I hear!? Love those dudes man, sweet build btw
I Hear Fu Manchu, instant attention...
wow man that is so cool. i didnt know there was a name for that style. and i thought it could only be done on certain bikes. i guess it only takes a little frame reconstruction.
sweet build dude!
Thumbs up for Fu Manchu!
love it..love the functinality of a dirtbike, and the style of a scrambler...good job!

just needed some inspiration, thanks man
Brother.. this is straight fire
That´s amazing. Epic build!
didnt have the money???? you have 50k$ in tools....
Loren Rynasko that’s where all my money went! 😂👍
@@brandonpetrykowski Lmao
You could the same with time, a stick welder and some rattle cans.
Thats what I was thinking, and I have 50 k in tools but not THOSE particular tools.
Sure he has 50k in tools that he’s saved up for and bought over the last 10 years.
Dude I like it. Good job 👌🏻
getting some "fly like a butterfly sting like a bee" kinda vibes from the bike.Fast underneath but super nice outside
If the engine was black too than it would look like it was built that way from factory. This makes me wanna get a dirt bike just to make it into a cafe racer style bike, i love the style that they are.

Amazing work Boss :)
Great job! Congrats!!

This is reallt cool! Great video😄
When buying the gas tank do you have to worry about it not fitting your bike or are they all pretty universal
Luke Henderson No, they’re all different depending on the model. You’ll have to fab mounts. Just make sure the tank is wide enough for the backbone of the bike frame.
My grandpa used to race those bikes there really cool
That came out awesome. I’m surprised you don’t see more people doing this
I know right!
Probably because it's not Street legal.
mojots can’t you just add mirrors and turn signals and then get it registered??
Good Job on the build, have you thought of putting the fiberglass flat tracker seat fairing on it to give it more style 👍
I loved this video, plz make more involving dirt bikes
Nice work man!
Swietna przebudowa!
F%€# yeah! I've been wanting to do this to my Yamaha tw200 for a few years..I think it's time I got off me a$$.😬 and 👍👍👍 on the track🎶, Fu Manchu!
Nice job mate, really inspired me one day I'll try making my own
Nice build man!
You should make these and re sell them.. if its a couple days works and like 400 bucks.. could be worth it!
Lost in Sperry You think people would buy em?? 😁 if this gets 200 likes I’ll do it 👍

That bike only $280???
So cheap
edan eling i bought the exact same one, running, for 200
Yeah so lucky!
Probably Hitler I got the same bike (78 dt250) But mine needed rings but I got the bike for free
Lucas LLorens i need y'all sellers lol. You can't even get a old, non running bike for that cheap out here unless it's a 50cc-85cc 😂😭
Dude, nice build. Next project? Build a Little twin scrambler out of Nighthawk 250 that thing sounds good too.
2:40 best line ever
I'd love a bike like this for a daily. It looks so light and nimble.
This is sick man
Subbed. Also thanks for putting in the desc how much it all costed to make this, I also plan on turning my dirt bike into a vintage look so I can ride it anywhere without buying a new one.

Street tracker with enduro style handle bar is the coolest bike imo
