I'm not an expert, but in my perception, that seat support, do not offer "enough support", it will flex like a giant leverage and someday it will break. this is a concern. The aesthetics above the mechanical and functional is the perfect formula to failure. that seat support, must be corrected and upgraded with some structural design. a human life can't be jeopardized in function of aesthetics Anyway, in general terms, this is a very nice restore and modification for this bike. nice job. greetings.
Very nice especially considering what you started with! One thing It never ceases to amaze me how many mechanics still use screwdrivers to wedge apart alloy machined mating surfaces.
here's a little protip when installing your timing chain up through the cylinder and head put a long zip tie on your timing chain makes it so much easier to pull through the motor and if you drop the chain it's a lot easier to find it
Looks lovely but I really hope you're adding bottom bracing to the day subframe otherwise that's gonna randomly bend and break while you're riding, the bending moment is far too far forward to be safe like that
If you look closesly and had any idea what you were looking at there are clearly mounting points on the frame for bracing that create a triangle (strongest shape)
great project, someone who has that skill should really consider welding rounded structural chassi like the original frame, awsome bike i always love to see the results on this kinda bikes whenever they turn into theese cafe beautys
absolute pleasure to watch such good og wrok and craftmanship. as ive went trough Fininish, second degree education level a good a metal&machine oriented school...initially specializatoion as a plater-welders graduation paper in my hand- i am in awe even tho i dont t and havent even praticed in years and for work never wanna do no more...but still any tips in what cuts/lengthening n welding to do to a stock 85 dr600 rear forks/suspensions to get more like motocross style shape
Great build, could you show how and what you did to the front suspension. How you lowered the forks. Is it a completely different front end? Or did you cut down the factory tubes? I'm actually in the process of building a dr650 cafe. Thank you for your time and get part 2 finished. Lol
Would you be able to let me know what year this bike is? I have a '86 600R Dakar and this is very similar in parts and set up. I am hoping that some of the parts will be compatible.
I had one ☝️ Dr 650R fantastic thumper of a motor . Sounds savage with super trap exhaust… miss my one .. think I’ll have to look for another on , good engine for caf racer
😮 Lots of work! That bike gonna look stunning👍👍👍👍
Young girl , brilliant work.
It's a man and a woman doing the work.

That engine looks beautiful in black!

Oh hell yeah! Coming along quite nicely 👌🏼 I can’t wait to see the final results.
You guys kick ass! Amazing!
I’m proud you homie! 🏍
Design knowledge 10/10
Structural engineering knowledge -1/10
You can do better? really?
oui tu as raison, la boucle arrière beaucoup trop fine va cassé.
@@nosmac There is a support piece that wasn't shown in the final images. The seat support isn't just hanging out there.

Yes, I hope part 2 is where they build a rear sub frame support for the seat?
Work of Art😍

Not trained mechanics.
WoW belle réalisation bravo, vivement la suite 👍
Que hermosa esta quedando!! Very professional!!
Drs make some badass cafe racers
Bom dia,bom dia. Que sdds dos seus vídeos. Ansioso pela parte 2. Um abraço. 👏🏼☺️🎊
Love this girl.
It's a guy and his girlfriend "helps"
Great work and very nice bike... so far!!
That's lookin daaaaam good guys... Lethal job. Thanx for sharing 👍🏴
One of the most interesting builds I've ever watched of one of the most functional motorised vehicles ever made.
Los saludo desde Colombia 🇨🇴
Love Cafe's. I built several back in the 70s. My favorite was a new RD350 so no refurbishment but a lot of custom engineering. Thanks for this.
Great to see you!
Another awesome build. Cannot wait to see the progress.
Keep up the great work!
Fellipe y Maiara los mejores..👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome! Glad to see someone do a cafe build of the mighty DR650! :)
Thank You!!
Great to see an amazing bike 🏍 looking even better as a Cafe racer
Very good video I liked how the seat has it gives it another shape ah the motorcycle more coffee reicer good 💯👊
Coffee maker alike. Good good
Amazing 👍👍
Very nice build and great video!!!
Great that she helps with the screws

The sound effect at the beginning was perfect fit lol..i have a xf freewind love it.. keep up
great job!!
Great work and good time lapse video, look forward to the end product, regards Doc Cox.
Very nice
Amazing.😍 I love it, I'll be waiting for the second part. I would like a Cafe Racer like that.🙏
It's an excellent idea, the DR650 has a powerful motor, and it's easy to get hold of, but the price can be a little high sometimes
Looks lovely but I really hope you're adding bottom bracing to the day subframe otherwise that's gonna randomly bend and break while you're riding, the bending moment is far too far forward to be safe like that
Why dont u post a bike build so we can pick out everything u do wrong mr expert

Great idea
Wow. you are a very impressive & knowledgeable motor cycle fabricator & really like tastes & attractive also
More than impressive, my kind of woman. Well done

Apparently not together anymore
Please update us for another video of this wonderful Suzuki DR650 custom Cafe racer. 🥲
Great job loved.)
Wouldn’t mind seeing the rest of this build. Have questions that need answers!

love it! would be perfect if the frame was also sandblasted...

surely that rear section needed some triangulation. Dont eat too much
Yes and it has been made coming soon very soon Thanks!!
Come on make it finishes please
I'm amazed that the engine wasn't toast. The outside looked bad.
Nice ❤
Cant wait!
What happened to this build? Are these two still around?
Well done miss !❤

Front end suspension is from a 01 Kawasaki zx6r you will just need right bearings from Allballs website
@@motow19 thank you, and can't wait to see the finished bike.

Do you know where I could get that cobra exhaust ?
Wow!
I wonder how do You get MOT with chopped up frame?
no gasket is needed when reassembling the engine?
The seat frame? Is that enough? You’re going to replace it yes?
I'm doing the same with a XT600E to converting a chopper
Was the jug and top end put together without sealant? That’s gonna leak some oil. Also super important to use a torque wrench.
Nice build, thanks to have shared it !
Is it possible to now where you source the new gas tank ?
Super!!!
@MotoW. Gostaria dizer-lhes que legal o video. Espero que chegue a segunda parte logo. Um abraco dos Estastos Unidos. :):)
What tank is that? It's perfect for this build. Nice work and an enjoyable watch. Subscribed.
You should find it on Amazon just type café racer tanks and you will find it. Thanks!!
Nice stuff! When will we see the result?
nice 🙋❤️🤗🇵🇭
Did you ever finish it?
Why not use black screws??
where did you buy the rear sets?
Is the tank from a yamaha fs1?
