Yet another example of how a little or a lot of love can bring these bikes back to life. In this case - probably better than when it was new. Sounds amazing!!
I kept a lot of original parts on this bike because I really love the vintage style the GS850 already has but I have to say that delkevic exhaust was well worth the money. It made this bike sound 1000 times better!
The GS850 has got to be one of the best utilitarian bikes ever made. It's soooo simple in virtually every respect and it'll run forever. My motto is always "the greenest tech is refurb tech". Well done, sir!
I have a 1981 Suzuki as my first bike and man. the old school bikes are difficult to find people who can work to bring it back to it’s former glory, i Wish i can just give you my bike and work you’re magic on it, bike always gives me a new difficulty but i still have love and want to turn it to a cafe racer
That dime city website is a fuggin goldmine!!! I have an 85 vt1100, and an 81 xs1100, I'm rebuilding...so hard to find parts, until now. Thanks so much, excellent work
Seeing this was awesome. I was the original owner of a 1979 GS1000E and this is a lot like that bike other than the shaft drive vs. 630 O-ring chain. The sound of that engine with the new 4 into 1 exhaust brings back memories. My 79 is long gone but I have a 1984 Honda VT500FT that's been in storage for some years, and I'd love to get her back on the road. Looks like your buddy @ditstang can work miracles with carbs, and I'm sure mine need that kind of TLC.
Just finished watching the build. Super nice job and gave me a lot of insight as to what lies ahead of me this winter as I rebuild mine. I hope mine comes out half as well as yours did.
I must say, this GS looks excellent. Beautiful green with matching front fender. A lot of cafe style bikes look kind of hokey, but this is definitely tasteful. The 850 is happy again.
After watching your rebuild, I had to subscribe. Got me wishing I had kept my 1983 Suzuki GS 1000. Beautiful work brother man. I watch your other videos for sure. 💯
@@BayCityRestorations Goes well mate didn't think it would, like how you pay attention to detail buddy. Keep um coming buddy, very educational 👍🇺🇸🏴
I had a ‘79 GS850G just like that but without the hideous little seat, the dumb frame cuts and silly looking fender treatment. It was a fantastic bike and the stock seat was the best ever put on a bike IMO.
Appreciate you watching! I know I’ve been MIA for awhile. Buying a new house and getting settled in took way longer than I thought! Happy to be back to working on motorcycles now. Got new and exciting projects already lined up.
These bikes become almost impossible to tune with the pod filters and in florida it rains a lot so I decided stick with the stock airbox for that reason! Appreciate you watching and leaving a comment! 🙌🏻
Man Porn right their, thank you for sharing - awesome to watch, awesome colour scheme, back light finished it off perfectly, and that sound. :). thank you

@@BayCityRestorations Hells yeah!
Mannnn this was the best P4P restoration I’ve ever seen on RUclips! Hands Down!
Really appreciate that! 🙏🏻
This is definitely the best restoration I've ever seen too!
I love that you kept the factory airbox on there. It will run so much better that way.
I’m so done with pod filters haha. I like how the factory airbox fills up the entire space under the tank and makes the bike look solid! 💪🏻

Appreciate you checking out the build! The GS850 platform is bulletproof. The bike is an absolute blast to ride 🚀

This channel is so underrated. Most of my favorite cafe racer builds are from here. Love those BMW builds especially 😊
Thanks man!!! More BMW builds are on the way! 🤙🏻
75,742 views and only 1.7k likes, that is ridiculous. You turned this bike into art.
I appreciate! Hopefully the RUclips algorithm works its magic soon so more people can enjoy the video!
In 1979 I bought a GS1000, loved that bike. In 1987 I bought a GS850 in need of love. Restored it and drove it for two years. Loved that bike too.
Great bikes!
Very nice work here!!! This beauty from the past is once again able to overshadow her rivals today, congratulations!!!
Hello from France.
Thank you! 🙏🏻

eBay and dime city are definitely your best friends for rebuilding these old bikes.
Beautiful Bike. The Colour is briliant, great job

Thanks for checking out the video! And yes ditstang is a miracle worker. I couldn’t believe the awesome job he did in these carbs!
Ah, finally I discovered the end of the restoration! It was worth the wait! Bravo to you, and a small mention for the noise of the 4 in 1! Nice job!👌
Really makes me miss my old Gs850 I had way back in the late 80's. Such a great update for a great bike.
I appreciate it! This bike has been a blast to ride. Very strong and great power.

That's the best bike restoration i ever saw, cool and simple ...❤❤

Well done, great job. Those Suzukis will last forever, great motors. Love the 4 into 1 exhaust.
Thank you! I have really enjoyed riding this bike.

Appreciate you watching man!
You've done a great job on this bike, if my rebuild looks half as good as this I will be pleased. Well done.
Appreciate it! Good luck finishing your build!
Nice bike. Looks like a bike that will actually get out of the garage, unlike a lot of the builds you see. And it sounds really awesome!
Appreciate it! This bike is a blast
Outstanding job buddy, really enjoyed watching that, love the colour.
Thank you, I appreciate it! Green and black is probably my favorite color combo!
@@BayCityRestorations Goes well mate didn't think it would, like how you pay attention to detail buddy. Keep um coming buddy, very educational 👍🇺🇸🏴
Such a simple yet beautiful build. The new paintjob on the tank with the blacked out engine was just a perfect pair. Much love from Indonesia!
Thank you! I loved the original style of the bike so my goal with this one was to keep the originality with a bit of my own personal touches😎
so sick, that green paint job made it sooooo sick
Thank you!
Loved the work and the small little memes! She turned out beautiful!
Appreciate it!
Incredible piece of work/art. This video flipped up on my recommendations and having watched your craftmanship have now subscribed. Kudos to you!
Appreciate you watching! Hope to build many more bikes in 2024 🙌🏻
@@BayCityRestorations …and a Happy New Year to you also👍
The 1979 suzuki gs850G is the holy grail of the G line since it was the only year it had a kick starter.
That thing sounds so awesome! Amazing work!
I appreciate it!
I like your dog's job, quality control inspections.
He keeps everything in check around here! Haha
Amazing machine! Sounds beastly. Makes me miss my 81 GS750EX.

Amazing. Paint is fantastic. Great build

Love it! Got CB900 that I should work on and this gives me inspiration. Thanks!
Nice! I have yet to own a CB but I’m sure one will be in my future 😎
SOOOOoooo AMAZING. I love it and you have some serious skills. What a great way to make a living.
Thanks so much!
Plan on doing this with my gs850, this was a good prep course. Thanks bud.
Nice! Gs850 is a great platform
You are a true master!! Thanks for sharing your great videos!!!

Really nicely done and love the colour. For me maybe a couple of plain side panels but that exhaust note is sublime! Cheers

She’s a beauty Mike! Sounds nasty !!
Oh yea! Love the sound this bike puts out out now! Always appreciate your support Dave!
Awesome job good choice going for the color green
Thank you! Cheers!
Absolutely fabulous work...much more patience than myself. But some good ideas for my 81 xs1100
I hope you adjusted the valves before you installed the cover/gasket. Glad you kept the stock airbox.
Yes, did all that off camera. I learned my lesson trying to put pod filters on a 79 GS425. These bikes are happiest with the stock airbox.
Nice job! I would lose the rear fender and put cones on the carbs but that’s just what I like.
These bikes become almost impossible to tune with the pod filters and in florida it rains a lot so I decided stick with the stock airbox for that reason! Appreciate you watching and leaving a comment! 🙌🏻
