Not sure what happened to my kill chamber footage.. but here is a link to the timestamp of a recent video where I built this farm in survival that shows how to make the kill chamber.
ruclips.net/video/JMLTy5wBaGk/видео.html
How far from the center are the villagers once you've trapped them behind their workstations? Im trying to figure out where to put the outer wall.
Hello @Prowl8413 great vid on mechanics of iron golem spawns. I have an off topic question.
Can one use amulet or universal to turn structures back on in a flat world type like a super flat in java.
@@chrisbuck8934 its pretty flexible, I usually put mine in line with the outer box of the top of the farm
@@Prowl8413 awesome! Thanks Prowl!
@@Prowl8413 if I have built this above a cave will it harm the farm ??
Here is a note to anyone building the double layer of beds. I built the farm with the single layer first to hold forty villager. The farm worked like a charm, but I soon realized I needed more beds for more villagers. So I built the second platform of beds just as the video said to and bred up a few baby villagers, then I went afk. When I got back on, the baby villagers that were running around the inside were gone. I thought that maybe they somehow had escaped and gotten zombified or something. So I bred up a few more just as I did before and while I was busy trading with the other villagers, I heard the baby villagers start to die. I had just slept and what had happened was the baby villagers somehow used the first platform to jump to the second platform and got in the beds. When morning came, they all suffocated and died. I ended up putting a fence wall from ground to floor all the way around the beds and so far this hasn't happened again. Another thing to note is that even though the villagers have a roof over their heads, they can still get struck by lightning. I was afk at a different time and when I came back I discovered that two of my armor smith's had been turned into witches. After breeding up two replacements, I installed nine lighting rods symmetrically on top of the farm. I placed them all on three high pillars, and so far none of the other villagers have been "WITCHIFIED". Hope this helps anyone struggling with these issues, please upvote so more people can see this. God bless.
Hey I’m trying to build my own with the double layer and was wondering if doing a 20x20 trader effects the farm due to being too big and out of range
Yeah, I am also curious how the villager placement looks for the double farm. I currently have 48 on the outer walls and the inside wall around the beds but I am curious if there is a more aesthetic way to place them.
I love how you explain the game mechanics so well, it makes the builds easier when you know these details, and if it works as well as your raid farm I will be 1 very happy subscriber, thank you
Glad to hear it!
I am just curious about one mechanic you used here. In your last video you had the beds above the farm with a nitwit standing to let the other villagers link to the beds. In that video you had stressed that you needed 6 clear blocks above the pillows of the beds. Is that not needed anymore? Been watching your guide series and using the builds there for my world. Been a fan and subscriber since Bedrock Guide Season 1.
I'm just gonna second that coming from java...villagers made no sense to me at all...thanks for the introduction yo bedrock villagers and villages...
@@faythe8789 I tried the farm in creative and as long as you build it at the video shows it will work.
Just built this farm and it's working great. I never knew you could have more than 2 golems spawn at once. I don't know what all the haters are talking about because the video isn't bad at all despite it missing some steps. Thank you, sir.
Pro tip: if you're breeding your villagers within the iron farm, don't place any blocks near the beds that the villagers can jump onto, because they will jump into the beds above and when they "wake up" at sunrise, they'll get up onto the golem spawning platform and die from the lava.
Update: this farm is great, I have a trading hall of 40 librarians with all the good enchantments and I've already collected two full double chests of iron. I even made an item sorter at the bottom beneath the trading hall level
For those looking for a material list, here's my best shot:
1056 ish building blocks
8 chests
13 hoppers
21 signs
1 slab
Water
1 bucket of lava
1-2 iron doors (optional entry)
1-3 buttons (for the doors)
Thank you i was looking for this comment
It took me 25 signs. 21 is the number of signs that hold the lava (9 on the bottom, 12 around the edges), but I needed 1 more on each edge to hold the other signs up (since signs can't just be floating). Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Thank you ❤
@@MrBoxinaboxinaboxyou are. Crouch and click on the sign infront you like he does and the sign is in place
Awesome tutorial...the way you sorted the villagers with their work stations was so simple...yet GENIUS! Loved it and subscribed for more!
Thanks! Definitely check out my survival empire series too :p
@@Crazy-ms7ty Just keep a couple things in mind. Your spawning platform is 17x17. The four block extension one block up is to prevent Iron Golems from spawning where your villagers are. Villagers must be within 3 blocks vertically of a bed.
You must not have more villagers than beds. 75% of your villagers must have worked the day before in order for the farm to work. This means the farm will not work on the same day you create it. Just go to bed like normal and it should begin working when you wake up.
Dude why do you explain it so damn well? I’ve been looking for this specific information for ever and on several topics and it’s always you who’s video has it!
I want to thank you for building this farm. I used to loathe making the iron farm on my world. Breeding 20 villagers and trying to put them in a tiny 1x1 was terrible. So was trying to trap a zombie and put a name tag on him. My biggest compliment is that you have put the villagers to USE! Normal farms they are just another building block but combining the iron farm and trading hall is amazing. It's so simple and somehow I've over looked it a dozen times. Great video!
This is - by far - the best Iron Farm I've made. with 40+ villagers, it produces much better than the smaller (20 villager) farms that I've made/seen in the past. The trading hall is a nice bonus and I'm building a 2nd base around this feature. Thank you!
Did building a base around it affect the farm at all? I was thinking we have to keep this farm far away from beds and work stations, I was planning on making mine really far away and linking it to the nether hub. But if it's ok to have it as t your base, that'd be more convenient
@@Ice_2228 building around this farm did not cause any issues with the farm. I placed 1 bed for myself at the base and after I got the villagers in place I put a bucket of water at their feet to prevent unlinking. I build a huge auto sorter right behind one side of the farm with several other crafting tables nearby.
Just wanted to add another big *thank you!!* for explaining the mechanics in detail!! I love getting an understanding of how stuff actually works! Comes in clutch when I inevitably mess up and need to figure out exactly what I broke. 😂
Just finished this iron farm for my son and I. Can't be happier with the results. Thanks Prowl for your work. We really enjoy your content!
How many villagers did you do
@@landonjackson1174 Hey Landon, I used 30 villagers on one build and 40 villagers on the other build. Works great. Let it sit afk for a while and you'll have more iron than you can use.
Ok I was wondering because in the world I play I have a hard time getting enough food to breed villagers with
@@landonjackson1174 I had lots of bread from my wheat farm that I used. You could plant a large wheat farm from seeds and let that grow while you build the structure. Just be sure to harvest it and replant as soon as they all grow. I can't remember how much food it took, but one stack of 64 should work. Feed a few bread to different villagers.
@@jamiemassengill6449 yeah it's hard because I'm using most my wheat to breed cows i found potatoes and that's working well
This is by far the easiest and most effective iron farm! It's explained very well, allowing you to make small adjustments where you see fit and the fact that it doubles as a trading hall is great.
Thank you so much for explainning the logistics of the farm in the very begining! This was my first iron farm ever and this tutorial was super easy to follow!
Just made this in a realm on 1.19 Bedrock and it works PERFECTLY!!! Thank you for inspiring me to finally try my hand at an iron farm.
real?
@@i_lgm yup, I just build it and it worked
I can get it to work in creative mode, but when I try and build it in my survivor world. I just can't get the golem to spawn and I have 40 beds, 40 villagers just like the video. Gets so frustrating.
@@MJ69090 75 percent of the villagers have to go to work, maybe that is the issue at the moment.
Glad to hear that, but I did expect it was going to work.
I just finished an iron farm in our family realm and wish I'd waited for this video. This is so much easier. Definitely how I'll be doing it in the future.
Thanks! Your guide series videos really help me a lot. And I enjoy watching your live streams, although I've only been able to catch 1 actually live. Keep it up.
Thanks I'm glad youre enjoying it. Try not to miss those streams :)
Your explanations are clear, concise, and easy to understand. Great job sir. Thankyou
Thank you for this. This is by far the best iron farm tutorial I have watched, and the first and only one I've gotten to work. And I still can't believe how easy it was. Keep up the premium content 👌 👏 👍
I built this farm months ago when I started a new 1.19 world. It's still working flawlessly even today. This is the best iron farm I've ever built. Thank you Prowl for the video.
Thank you. Just wanted to Build it now
How u do the lava he didn't have that in the video
@kapich -3 sorry for the late response, but basically you have to make a bowl shape out of signs. The inside of the bowl is a 3x3 space that the lava will rest in.
Thank you so much Prowl, you explained it so well, that because of you I know why my design doesn't work I put the beds one block too high and my collection area is nowhere near the size of yours. Yours is definitely a better option when it comes to both having a large number of villager traders and iron drops. Thanks man for explaining it so detailed. I just cannot say it enough you helped me get a much better understanding of the mechanics of the farm.
Thank you! This is a great guide. I built this on the realm server I play on with my friends and it works great!
I've built silent whispers design and this one seem very similar. But it looks like it improves on getting villagers into the farm aspect of it. I like how it basically comes with a villagers breeder. Silents design is still good if you use minecarts with a trapdoor in the holding cell so when you break the cart the villagers stays in place.
I've found that making a ring of hoppers around the center one with a campfire on top of the hoppers works well too. Items can be picked up through campfires and you don't have to worry about signs or lava
FYI just tested this on creative in 1.19.63
Signs+ Lava: ~13.4 seconds to kill iron golem
3x3 soul campfires: 25.57 seconds to kill iron golem
Still works, but you'll definitely get faster iron with the lava method.
Making it on creative and checking out the design in his pinned comment for the kill chamber makes learning sign placement really easy
This looks so simple! Great guide, I watch farm videos a lot then never make them. I’m excited to make this one and show all my friends in my realm!
Did you make it or procrastinate it out of existence?
You instantly became my favorite farm guide source because of the a) well thought out consideration of game mechanics, b) explanation of those mechanics and how we interact with them, and c) the effort you put in to test and troubleshoot these on our behalf. Thank you so much! Keep up the good work and I hit those buttons!
This was the First iron Farm I ever build and I‘m obsessed with it. Great tutotial, thank you very much.
I made a little adjustment and added a zombie walkway behind the villagers with the villagers standing on pistons. I think you used that design in one of your trading halls.
Keep those videos comming, I‘m a big fan:)
how did you do the zombie walkway??
Can I suggest a minor Improvement? One lightning rod 5 blocks above the centre of the farm. It will stop your villagers turning into witches in a thunderstorm.
I think it isn t possible
this was a good video not only did you help me build the iron farm but you kinda helped with the understanding of the villager mechanics i’ve built trading halls in the past with the trap the villager and place a work station in front of them which is a terrible method letting them trap themselves was genius looks like it completely eliminated the villagers deciding to unlink/ me just not knowing who’s actually linked to the block which leads to more problems bc they would almost never refresh their trades in the past
this works amazing. i just finished it today. i had a couple of issues and i ended up with 42 villages so once i got them all in their own job rooms i just put 2 more beds on the ground to make 42 beds and the golems started spawning just fine. good video, good farm.
Built this twice over the weekend once on my 5 year old daughter’s creative world and then on my vanilla survival world. On mine it’s hidden under a hill so I get mob drops because they can get to the top and they get taken out by the golems as they burn
Just wanted to add a tip if anyone is looking for an "easier" way to build this. Do it in a mountain, you just have to carve out the negative area's (takes a bit of planning) but it's less intensive than trying to build into the air and less resources needed if you're earlier game and might not have quite that much.
The 'hardest' part for me was getting 2 villagers for me... Because it was over 1k blocks to my nearest village but once I got them it's been a game changer... I don't even care about enchanted gear anymore, because I have so many awesome enchantment books available at this point, I even enchanted my flint any steel because I have so much sitting around... Lol
I just started playing. Ive watched several of you videos so I'm leaving comments to support the channel. Thanks for the good info.
Top tier tutorial. You're doing amazing keep it up
Thank you so much for this video. I tried making a different iron farm and it is very broken and I don’t know why. I even stopped playing that world because I was so upset. I also love how you added trouble shooting tips because I have a tendency to break all redstone I touch.
i just built this farm & trading hall nearly exactly as the video showed. this farm still works
Thank you!! I was looking for this 👍🏻
My son sent me the link to your farm a few days ago. I just wanted to come back and say thanks. I have tried other styles with and without zombies and just didn't have much success. This farm however was less complicated and more successful than I thought it would be. I did have a bit of trouble with the water flow and stray villagers from a nearby village, but once I got that sorted the iron started to really stack up. Great tutorial, thanks again.
*Edit : Just to comment on the unlinking issue. To resolve that issue, I just let them all roam free in the confines of the villager level. They have no issues pathfinding and I can still trade with them. It might be a bit chaotic for some folks, it is for me at times (lol) but its better than frustrating myself over them unlinking/linking with other stations.
This farm works great. On my test map, the latest update did break it, but the science still works, I just was too lazy to break all the beds and work stations to get it working again. I just created a small one far away and works great still. Also, the one in my survival world works great. It's not as well developed, but I'm rolling in the iron. Also using the poppies to help fuel my bone meal farm.
That was the simplest and most comprehensive, easy to follow bedrock iron farm tutorial i have ever seen. Thank you!
Agreed
Yeah especially like the part where he shows you how to set the signs up right and the other video doesn’t really help much
I love how he never helped you hoe to put down the signs
@@timzelasko8770 yeah it was a bit of a hot mess in parts. missing whole sections on how to set up the signs, lava. even the thumbnail has one wall half finished and the other wall not finished.. on grass ;) COULD have been a little more meticulous. but i like his quick and nasty process.. just get it done!
I Eventually figured it out
I really like how you extended the spawning platform because sometimes the iron golem spawning range can extend out of your spawn platform is you just go out 8 blocks in each direction from the kill chamber.
I've built this multiple times and this last time it seems everyone once in a while that 4th Golem will spawn literally on that last row outside the water and will just walk around the ledge. I have to manually push him in the water.
Ok, would you like me to make the farm itself so i can see the problem?
Currently making this in my survival (wait for it) super flat world on bedrock. I’ve tried like three other designs in other worlds before and none of them worked but this is the best explanation I’ve ever heard so I’m hopeful!
Update: Finished the build and its officially my first working iron farm. You’re the best!
Here are some improvements I made for it (and some tips too for making it easier to build):
1- Replace the top hopper (the one that is just below of the slab holding the sign) with a campfire to deal with baby cats getting stuck down there and hogging the mob cap.
2- Instead of doing the 5:07 step at ground level, leave at least 5 blocks of clearance to build some storage and not have to dig a hole for it. For example, I started my farm at level Y:64, but to fit my storage, I built a 17 x 17 platform 10 blocks above the ground, centered with the rest of the farm, for the villagers to hang out, and fit the storage unit below, so the villagers are sitting at Y: 74 now, and the farm is above them.
3- Chunk aligned my farm. This is going to make sure the villagers don't despawn by accident in the chunk borders.
I aligned mine by putting the center block of the farm (The one Prowl marks with bricks at 5:31) in the northwest block of the center of the chunk. (Chunks have a 4 block center, pick the one that is northwest. Locator maps are very useful for this task)
4- Build above Y: 0
Even tho Prolw stated that it doesn't matter, one of my friends built it at Y: -58 and the farm isn't working at all. In fact, there's a lot of farms both in Java and Bedrock that are breaking at negative Y levels.
5- If you are going to do the Trading Hall, bring your villagers 1 by 1 and give them the jobs you want as you bring them. If you bring a bunch of them and then start assigning them jobs, there's a chance they are going to swap constantly and make things confusing.
6- Also, general Villager tip: Always trade with your villagers to lock them in the job you want them to have before leaving or placing more job-site blocks, that way there´s no posibilityof them losing the trades you want.
7- Move the job-site blocks with sticky pistons back and forth to reset the villagers' jobs until they offer the trades you want before trading with them, instead of breaking and replacing the job-site blocks,. It's quicker.
8- Do the kill chamber in creative first so you know how to place the signs and to see if you are letting the lava leak somewhere before doing it in survival.
9- Do Spawnproof the top area of the farm, either by lighting it up or using non spawnable blocks.
I've AFK'd this farm and found my sorters clogged by rotten flesh, gunpowder and bones.
10- If you are gonna test this in creative, make sure to enable the daylight cycle. Otherwise, the farm is not going to work.
Hope it helps, and massive tanks to Prowl for this bomb design!
Thank you! Especially the chunk advice, I've had rotten luck with chunk borders
@@daelynsky5023 Hey would trapping a Zombie near the villagers increase the iron yield?
@@ohigetjokes I wouldn't know, I'm just getting back and relearning the mechanics so I am interested to see someone reply to your question. @@ohigetjokes No, that's a Java only feature.
You can use a Zombie to Zombify the villagers, cure them and reduce the costs of the trades if you want.
But that will not improve the production of Iron in any way.
New subscriber, new to minecraft, and I love your videos! I do have a question which probably was answered already but could you make the empty space in the middle a large potato farm I see in other videos? or will that mess with spawn rates/break the farm? Just kinda thinking of knocking out two birds with one stone.
You should be able to yes.
As long as you have high light levels. You can make the field. Otherwise it will take forever to grow.

Dude, you're incredible thank you for such an in depth tutorial
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this video. Having this farm has completely changed the game for us! I also really appreciate your explanation of the mechanics behind the golems. :D
Built this in my world, its pretty good. It does take a LONG time to build because of the large flat area.
If you want to make villagers breed even faster, place a composter to turn one of the villagers into a farmer. Farmer villagers will distribute the food they have so other villagers can breed too.
Good idea but the farmer needs to get the items itself, so I say enslave villagers to farm you potatoes/carrots then give them to the iron farm villagers
You need to make a farm for that, though. Farmers need to harvest the stuff they share.
@@Kobe_Abogutal does this still work
@@JackXX91 last update. I'm not even done building it (6/24 of the villagers are still unemployed) and it already produced 3 stacks of iron ingot. So yes! My only problem is that sometimes (rarely) an Iron Golem spawns in the trading hall. I don't know if it's because of the sea lanterns I placed on the spawning platform but be aware of that.
@@Kobe_Abogutal I’m having a problem where some of my golems spawn to far towards the outside of the water platform where it’s still water and then they jump out. Any idea how to fix this?
I built this today and it works great! Thank you.
I built this a while ago in survival and it works beautifully! I did have a couple of hiccups to work out though; my villagers were too far away from the beds in their little chambers, so I moved them all a few blocks closer; some of the beds I used were original to the village I flattened and converted into the farm, and I think that also confused the villagers (i.e., some were too far from their original bed), so I removed all of the beds and replaced them with 40 brand new, never been used beds; and lastly, on the rare occasion a golem would spawn outside of the farm, so I expanded the outer ring of the spawning floor from 4 blocks wide to 7 blocks wide. That's it! A few minor issues to solve and it's been flawless ever since. Thanks again for the tutorial! Planning to build it again in another world! 😁👍🏻
Hey man! I just wanna say thanks for someone finally making a bedrock iron farm that actually works! Amazing! Just a question though, if one wanted to build over it and not disrupt the farm mechanic, is there a distance from the spawning platform we should stick to? Where the overall platform is 27x27 should I build 30x30? And is there a height restriction above the platform where the golems wont/can't spawn? I was thinking a ruined castle or building. Thanks again, and keep up the good work (loving the empire series so far!)
He explained it in the video, towards the start
Troubleshooting tip... if you think your villagers have unlinked from their workstations; trade with them, then wait and see who can restock. If they can't restock, they cant access their workstation. Rather than breaking all of your workstations etc, you can do this to identify which villagers are causing the problem. It also helps if you have a glass block above their heads, because you can see the particles better. Great video dude... but how do we combine villager curing for better trades?
In simplified term, put one workstation down, and see which villager claimed it, and give that workstation to them.
Repeat for the other 19
@@ozgamerab8780 I have 40 villagers under my iron farm lol. Is there a way to stop the random link/ Unlinking they do?
@@andrewmilton7304 first of all, having 40 villagers will be no better than 20. Also, I know that the guy said that 30 villagers is the max amount that increases efficiency, but every other video says 20. So no more than 20 villagers.
Also, I hear that if villagers’ feet are in waters they cannot unlink to their workstations. So try putting water under their feet, and they will be unable to unlink.
This is not true, there is not a huge difference between 20 and 30 yes, but you do get a slight uptick in speed with 30.
40 is best if you want to also use it as a trading hall fir numerous things.
I did not have success in building this farm until I watched your video. This is a great reference!
Thanks. Man love your farms I use most of them.

Fun tip: Build it underground (Golem platform at surface) place a ring of magma blocks around the center hopper, level the terrain with the top of the farm and make sure the inside is unspawnable.
Doubles as a quick raid farm when you find a patrol.
the part thats "hard for people but actually easy" is putting a material list in your description apparently.. almost zero tutorials do this, and it would help exponentially to have an exact list of ingredients per se'
Yeah I had to do some guestimation. I decided on a Mud Brick and Brick Block pattern for the Auction House floor and Stone Brick for the Golem Spawning floor. Still collecting and crafting materials. I have yet to build it.
It's just blocks though. It's Minecraft, you should have tons of blocks.

An inventory list in a description hardly seems like much to ask for. Several smaller channels include them for every single video, down to the optional decorations. Prowl is huge. He's part of the Truly Bedrock crew and these guys are certifiable geniuses when it comes to Bedrock mechanics and building techniques.
That being said, this video was clearly rushed. He (or his editor) left out the kill chamber footage, the footprint dimensions for the trading hall floor, and failed to even ballpark the minimum materials required.
While he did do a fantastic job explaining the mechanics behind all this, even going as far as to visualize the distance a villager needed to be to a bed and where a golem could spawn, his video could have been a lot better with 30 minutes more work.
People expect more of his uploads because he is of a certain caliber. No one was dissing him specifically. Item lists are nice to have so you're not falsely confident you have enough materials only to get something half done and have to run back to the mines. I'm sure a sigma like you probably wouldn't understand the importance of preparation. I'm sure you just have whatever you need whenever you need it for whatever happens in your life. Keep being awesome.
I made this farm in my bedrock guide S2 seed and it’s still working beautifully😊. While waiting for BG to continue I’ve made a brand new village in my world following some building tutorials from MythicalSausage. It’s very cool. I’ve also been filling my underground base with new structures. I’m having lots of fun making everything look good.
That's awesome!
Awesome Iron Farm setup, best I've ever seen. This one is working best. Setup was easy, the only thing I struggled was the killing zone in the middle, but finally got it working. And it still works also in 1.19 Bedrock. Thank you very much 👍👍👍
Can you please tell me how to make the killing zone?
A year ago I built an iron farm but for some reason I don't know my villagers were despawning. I know it sounds very weird but I don't know what the reason was I watched your video today and made this farm in my world. At first it didn't produced any irons so I was a little depressed but after an ingame day the golems started to spawn and I have no words to thank you more. You earned a sub man ❤
Great video Prowl! I do agree with others that I wish you would show us how to place signs also I REALLY wish you would give us a materials list!!! That would be so helpful!!
You didn't show the construction of the killing chamber. How do the cats get killed? Great vid either way.
I don't know how that clip didnt get in there. It's the same kill area I used in the BG s2 farm though. I don't kill the cats although they do typically end up dying. Cats dont effect farm rates, so unless you need string from the farm, there is no benefit from killing them.
My favorite is to place a campfire under the platform. Placing trap doors around it prevents the cats from escaping. Then bringing the drops down with hoppers works. And my beds are on the floor, so it didn't matter if they got in beds while they were multiplying up
Definitely earned a like and sub! Keep up the good work and will for sure check your other videos out.
Hey Prowl! Love this farm and it is finally time to replace my old go-to double layer combo iron farm + trading hall based on the updates and mechanics you described. I had a couple quick questions though-- 1) I know the old mechanics had some villagers that don't work during rain, so the suggestion used to be to only use smiths since they allegedly work in rain and thus can still satisfy that 75%. Is that still the case? 2) I know I used to have to put all villagers floating in water so they wouldn't unlink from their beds or work stations. Do we still need to do that or did that get patched?
I don't think the water is necessary anymore.
@@curtisreynolds7375 much appreciated!
I appreciate your persistence - recently making several videos on iron farms. I have one in my single player world of my own creation, and it took quite some time to perfect. The fact that your previous ones may not have been perfect, but you kept bringing to your audience your trials, errors, and eventually this 'unbreakable' model shows your dedication to the cause, to the channel, and to your viewers, and we appreciate it.
Also, I joined as one of your patrons a while ago and still have no clue as how to join your private MC servers, nor have I received any replies to my inquiries on the matter.. is there anyone willing to help me out?
@@BaddHabytzz make sure to join prowl's discord, im sure the community managers will help you out on the matter
You just need to join my discord channel, as tofu said. The details are laid out on the patreon page on what is required, but you can just go to discord.gg/prowl8413 to get into the discord server, and from there someone can help you out with getting whitelisted
THANK YOU for actually recording in Bedrock. 99% of "Bedrock" tutorials are ckearly recorded in Java edition where things work very differently.
Thanks for the awesome work!
I am going to combine this with silent whisper zombie rail cart system. Thanks for what you do for the community. I use so many of these farms.
Can confirm does work in 1.20 in case anyone was wandering just tested it
thanks
I really hate to say this … this Iron Farm can break. Yes the beds need to be centred, but the POI’s (workstations) need to be accessible to each profession too, as these are more likely to scramble than the beds. If you have 5 Farmers, they need to have access to ALL composters. So Farmer A would need access to all five composters, Farmer B would need access to all five composters and so on. That way if the composters become scrambled, the Farmers still have access to a workstation. The same applies to all profession blocks. Once you have that scenario, then the farm is unbreakable. I believe you can verify with Old Guy whether I’m right or not.
You are correct, but farms scramble for a reason usually. Typically that reason has to do with additional beds that can be claimed within the range of villagers, or beds / profession blocks being out of range of the villagers. Also from my experience beds are more likely to swap than profession blocks for whatever reason. I do have over 100 hours at this farm, with frequent loading/unloading of the chunks, and built it prior to 1.18.30, so it has gone through a version release as well, and there has been no POI or bed scrambling.
But... Mojang can mess things up... which is why I did include the troubleshooting tips at the end for how to fix a broken iron farm.
@@Prowl8413 beds scramble more often when villagers can't access them. every time a villager try to reach his bed and can't, he unlink to this bed and try to find a other one unclaimed. Sometime he reclaim the same bed
BTW, you can have more beds then villagers. but all villagers need to be linked to a bed.
Wish they'd just give us Java farm mechanics instead, or make Bells serve as the center of a village and do away with beds all together.
@@Prowl8413 Welcome to bedrock edition, where even bedrock can break (and return as a block, mind you)
This is the first full iron farm overview I've had since silentwhisperer posted a while back, but like you said, those are outdated now
Thanks for this comprehensive guide
I learned from 0ld guy to put a water source at the villager’s feet in their pod. This was awhile back so not sure if it still works but seems to in my experience. Also, Prowl put a trapdoor above the profession block. I put trapdoors on the profession block and I’ve never had one de-link from their work station. I do this for all trading halls, not just iron farms. Just my two cents.
Edit: just saw another comment where Prowl said the water no longer has an effect on villagers de-linking from beds. I’d go with his knowledge over mine any day.
Thank you for the step by step video I need to build this on my solo world👍
Thanks for the video. Build works, troubleshooting works (when I screwed up the villager:bed ratio). 10/10 recommend this farm build.
bro wtf happened to the guide for the whole top piece of the build
One great thing every tutorial should have is a list with the blocks we'll need, and the space needed to build this without it being affected by anything else. That's something i wish you had done for this, otherwise great farm and thank you :)
Absolutely amazing, brilliant human. Thank you for this perfect tutorial ✨
Thank SO much!!!! This farm is amazing!!!! It took me a little while but it was totally worth it, it was my first iron farm at my first Minecraft world, and only while I was finishing bringing the villagers and my storage spot I got 1 stack of iron Blocks!!! I'm so grateful. was going to try to make your stackable farm but I realized this one does almost the same job but much easier and it's real it is unbreakable I messed it out two times but I could fix it right away. Again thank you so much!!!!
Two little pieces of advice: Expand the lava by one on the backside because it doesn't kill the golems until they move. You can make the curing cheat to make prices cheaper by placing one zombie and one villager in the middle behind the hoppers, the farm will only stop momentarily while the extra villager isn't turned into a zombie.
How much iron you get in 1 hour?
This is the first time I've ever been this early to a video
How do I place signs for lava
Pined coment
GREAT GUIDE, thanks so much for this, worked perfectly !
Love this, with deeply explanation in details
I made your farm awhile ago and it worked perfectly but since the update the golems are spawning on top they are spawning on the same level the villagers are at now
I'm guessing it was the new update, my golem after a month of working are spawning below the trading hall. I have a n underground base down there. Any idea how to fix?
Yeah great vid on the farm mate had to look into your videos just to be able to make it !! Plus you take no time to explain certain steps and skip straight past it leaving it completely out. 😂😂😂
Hey Prowl,
thanks for this video. Built this yesterday and at first it was not working. had to log off and back in and then bingo it started working. works amazingly well. I did have to figure out how to do the signs for the lava kill chamber, but I got it after a couple of tries. i love the vids, keep it up sir.
Thanks! I have done this multiple times now and it still works in 1.20.
I’ve built and rebuilt the farm multiple times and done all the troubleshooting you recommended many times. But still my golems won’t spawn on top of the actual platform any more suggestions. I followed your video to the T
It’s bullshit don’t believe these videos
I can't get it to work either. The villagers won't link to the beds.
You aren‘t allowed to build it near a village
@@0711_luka so what happenes if I just steal all the villagers from the village near by would it still work out or would it break the farm
@@ericballace2661 it would work perfectly but you have to be sure to either get 2 villagers with a minecart or something and breed them, then kill all other villagers in the nearby village, or get all villagers with a minecart to your iron farm. I‘d recommend the first method
Great tutorial….but did I miss the bit where you place the water and lava? Seems to jump from building the structure then all of a sudden the water and lava are there.
I was just going to ask about this, I though I was going crazy cuz I couldn't find the part in the video that tells ya how to setup the signs/lava and water.
Put a sign on the hopper, then a 3x3 signs around the hopper and then another 3x3 signs on the signs you placed. Put the lava bucket on the sign you placed on the hopper and you are set. With the water flow just put water on every wall flowing down from the top walls
@@KaptainKruiser look at the pinned comment. He linked the part where he shows how he did it
When I go around and add the water I get all sorts of mad stuff going on! Sometimes the whole top layer goes still and turns into water source blocks

Prowl i want to thanks you again for for saving me on my world. finally after many builds I got an iron farm that works. I will be putting a video on my tiktok and will be added to a you tube video soon.
Works ALMOST perfectly. I've heard dozens upon dozens of cats die screaming, but still no string and I did get an iron golem spawned on the outer ledge; still trying to figure out how to deal with him. Other than that, excellent farm! This is the second one I've tried--first one didn't work at all. I spent an evening putting this together and it started working as soon as my villagers were grown up and I started giving them jobs. Love it! This is going to make the game so much better now that I've got unlimited iron and a nice big trading hall beautifully set up. Thanks!
You should watch videos from the guy who actually made this farm, not these copy paste losers. Type "Old Guy bedrock" and you will find his channel. He explains everything there is to know about iron farms.
I love how you didn’t tell us how to make the water flow or the signs with lava
read his pinned comment....
It's not rocket surgery. The mechanics are simple enough.
@@j0hn4th4nd03 😂wtf is rocket surgery😂
😂
ok
Made my first iron farm off this video . Works perfectly. Thank you !!!
Great video, just one quick question. You mentioned that beds can be placed as long as they are higher than 5 blocks above the villagers, does that work below also or am I only able to go above?
I just need to say that i have tried about 5 different iron golem farms and this is the only one that actually has worked for me! As a bonus i got a trading hall which i have never had
I love the build! And thanks so much for the information! I was wondering if swapping out the kill disk for a 3 by 3 kill chamber would effect the farm negatively. I just like the look of a glass kill chamber in the center of the trading hall.
Hey, did it do anything to the farm?
@@TheRUclipsCrusader01 as far as I can tell it didn't have any noticable negative effects on the rates. You do lose 8 spawnable blocks but with 40 villagers in the hall I couldn't see a difference in production.
This tutorial got you a sub... This thing is great, but a couple things could be explained better. I had issues getting the signs right, but it finally happened, also building the chamber with the villagers in it under the farm - I had to think about how to achieve that, but I figured it out. The only other thing is I don't remember you mentioning that its a great fishing hole, and you get iron the whole time you are fishing!
Hello, I was looking through the comments and saw you also struggled with getting the signs right. I’m trying to do this with a friend but can’t seem to get how he made the signs float? Do you reckon you could possibly explain to me how you did it?
@@mefemf7984 I think you just crouch and look at the sign your just placed and it just places another one “in mid air” essentially
@@ShelbyTurnerMusic Ah , I see. Thank you!
@@mefemf7984 I hope that helped!!
I set this up in tandem with a mob spawner right above it. I swapped out the lava trap for magma blocks and Built a modest mob farm over the kill pit. So when the mobs land in the pit they fight the iron golems which kills them faster and the golems kill the witches (which renders their fire resistance and healing potions useless). Sometimes I get music disc's from skeletons accidentally shooting creepers. Definitely would recommend. Now when I Afk I get to watch a monster moshpit and sometines creepers explode but because they are in water no damage occurs. 10/10 would recommend its pretty cheap to build and fun to AFK. You can even trade rotten flesh with the clerics fore more emeralds.
Pls make a video showing what it looks like, like a very detailed video looking at every detail
