      @@roccoberetti7066 The spawnable area is a 16x16 square, 16*16=256.
n = number of spawnable blocks within that 16x16 square. If the entire square is spawnable that gives 256/256 = 1.
      1-1 = 0
      (0)^30 = 0
      1-0 = 1
Probability of spawn success = 1 (guaranteed) if all blocks are spawnable, which makes sense.
Of course, if there are less than 256 possible spawnable blocks, n/256 will give us the proportion of possible spawnable blocks e.g.128/256 = 0.5 (half of possible blocks are spawnable)

If anyone is interested, I built the ~90% efficiency farm shown at 14:40. For a small group of friends on a server it was simple to build and is generating far more than we need. 5 blocks of space between the level the beds are on and the golem spawn floor, and a 10 block fall to the collection/kill area below that.

When i watched it i was inspired to work on my own design of an iron farm instead of watching a video and after i build it in my world getting disappointed about the rates and not fulfilling my needs of iron. THANK YOU!!

I really appreciate this style of presentation. Technical play is what keeps me in minecraft, but I rarely find the opportunity to construct novel designs on my own because clear explanations of why things are the way they are are hard to come by. Minecraft may be the most mechanically fascinating game I've ever played, and it's nice to have someone elucidate what these mechanics are, and discuss how one might go about exploiting them as opposed to simply demonstrating a way of exploiting them.

I remember when I was in a MC Realm with some friends, we had been on for 2 months and while we weren't taking it deadly seriously when we did run into a major issue.
After a very VERY bad trip to the Nether left us all half a dozen or more deaths, EACH. We needed to resupply, the issue was we were out of Iron. And there was none to be found while caving, we were using the Iron for a lot more then just mining but we were in a deep pit and needed a solution, so we split up as 3 collective groups. I went out on my own to locate two villages left in ruins and rescue any villagers. My brother and 4 others went out to explore the far north of the base, while the third group tried to upend our base and look for any new pockets of land. After about 10 minecraft days worth of effort I returned to the base and began to work on an Iron Farm and while I was able to make it work I found it wasn't able to work automatically as it would spawn Iron Golems outside the base and not in the kill mechanism.
I ended up scowering the internet to try and find why this was happening for hours and then it hit me after watching a video, Villagers have a 16 Block range to spawn an. Iron Golem. This drove me mad but at least it was finally over, and it worked as it was supposed to. And I improved it and managed to solve the Iron Crisis.
A lot of videos I found never explained that part abd I didn't realize why it was importsnt until I read the actual spawning mechanics on the Wiki. Which made me habitually check the MC Wiki whenever I see some new interesting automation in MC, cause a lot of videos just never explain them.

Great video! A succinct yet thorough explanation of the relevant mechanics, allowing the viewer to modify the excellent designs within to best suit their needs. The production quality is high too, surpassing that of most technical minecraft youtubers of even 6-digit subscriber counts. Of particular note to me was the visual sequence accompanying the golem spawning rules at 1:56; it's humorous, keeps the viewer's attention, and aids in understanding those rules. All in all, great work!

21:10 A couple of weeks ago Docm made a speaker system to trigger every night on Hermitcraft. Because of the exact same problems you mentioned with daylight sensors, he used villagers going to sleep as a timer to trigger the system. As they go to sleep before the player can, this could potentially solve the player sleeping issue by using a separate villager not being scared going to sleep as the timer?

This video about an auto farm in a video game where everything is blocks is actually better than 95% of the essays I have ever read in my student life, everything is perfect, the structure of the video and timeline is absurd, you actually have a start point, introduction, you go to topics explaining how they are relevant to the situations, you acknowledge the points that wouldn't really matter in a simulation but you still did for the tests. A small lag improvement:
Place twisting vines at the villagers feet.
I've noticed with a 5 layer design that using the vines and tickwarping, I get an average 0.2 mspt advantage for a 72000 tick warp, but you mostly notice the difference when you look at day and night. During the night I got around 2.1 mspt, but during day I got 2.9 mspt without the vines, and 2.3 mspt with the vines.
This may not seem that big of a difference, but it's a very easy to apply solution to save on a bit of lag, especially when you built a big ironfram.

Great stuff. I actually didn't know quite how simple iron farms could be (I haven't built one myself since before the village update -- You know, back when you had to spam a bunch of doors and trap like 4 villagers on each side. Good times...). As a fellow small creator, it gives me warm fuzzies seeing the algorithm pick this up, haha. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors!
