I set myself a challenge once where I was only allowed to mine 3 iron ore before building an iron farm like this. All you need is 1 bucket to start the process, then wait around in the middle until you get enough iron ingots to start making hoppers. After that I was free to start mining iron again, but I loved that challenge at the start of a world 😊
Another great video. I honestly always start with a hole in the ground set up but I'm thinking about putting this on top of my mob grinder

Great farm Prowl. My iron farm has been broken for awhile I’m going to build this one.
I had a problem with the golems spawning outside of the farm so I just covered the ground 3 blocks out from the floating platform with bottom slabs and that did the trick.😁 this is one of the only farms that has actually worked for me. Finally!

Good to go!!! Thanks for the video, farm up and running on my server. Production is about 400 iron per hour. Had to put path blocks 6 wide around it to prevent spawns outside of the farm but hey working like a well oiled machine!! Happy hunting everyone!
Did you manually place path blocks? Or dig them with a shovel?
@@ericriste164 I used a shovel. But the new update seemed to change everything.. Now I have to kill the spawned pest and make sure I don't unload the farm. I'm trying everything now to keep them from spawning outside the killing chamber

I did some testing after having issues. I discovered that the farm will break if there is a villager outside the farm area within 80 horizontal blocks of the center. *also cannot have another "village" or breeder within 100 blocks.*

Dont forget to light up the villager areas or you'll come back to a bunch of unalived villagers and possbily a water leak.

Your iron farm is simply the best! It’s is one of the early game farms I do every time!
I built this in creative first, and it only spawns cats (not even very frequently)
I like making the breeder separate at golem level. This allows them to see beds in a top position, but also allows you better to control how many villagers there are. Nitwits can be used as breeders too, so not completely useless.
hi can you help me? I want to put them on the outside of the golem spawning area instead of under the farm. can I put the beds on the bottom like he did or do I need to move them uptop?
@@3rdeyejukez493 beds need to be within like 3 blocks of their head or feet. They basically have to be able to "see" them. If out of range they will not link. Since you are putting them up top, the beds should have a 3 block clearance from the floor of where the golems spawn (to give the golems head room).
Edit: the beds should also be in the center most position horizontally too. The first bed you place more or less will be the "point of interest" that determines where golems spawn.
do I need to watch out for near by caves or does it not affect the farm? also is it any better to build it high up in the air or in the ocean.
@Prowl8413 is it possible that this doesn’t work in Superflat Creative? Because even if I soawn them all in they do not spawn a golem

Golems will spawn up to 6 blocks above the bed, so with the hight of the Golem and a bit of a margin for error starting the roof at 10 blocks minimum from the beds should be fairly safe so they aren't trying to spawn with their heads in your roof
I have built your unbreakable iron farm in every realm I’m in, and my personal world. Always double it with a trading hall for all librarian trades.
I actually managed to build it and break it and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to fix it. It’s an awesome farm though. No complaints here.
@@billsedutto8824 so far all of mine are still working. I did have them all stop trading once and I had to break all the lecterns and put them down one by one to see whose was whose. It was a major pain, but I now put them down one block and fill it with water so they bob up and down and they have not switched lecterns on me since.
make sure they are all connected to the right jobs. just break the beds and jobs and replace them honestly. everytime mine breaks that what i do and it fixes it.@@billsedutto8824
I have a question can you build the villagers on the same floor where they spawn golems? besides the first villager where he put them?
@@3rdeyejukez493 no so I build the trading hall underneath where my collection system is. What I do is bring two villagers in then I make holding cells for them all and breed them up underneath there. They will only breed to the maximum number of beds that you have there. You don’t have to put one up top at all as long as you’re not too far below.
With all your Minecraft experience have you come across an iron farm that some of the beds keep turning invisible? Like they are still there when you go to break them but you can’t see them? It causes golems to not spawn until replacing the beds that turned invisible
At 7:12, you place a temp block and hopper facing the temp block. Why is the hopper set like that, and not down into the hoppers below?

Ay man. I love watching your videos, firstly. Secondly, you forgot to put materials needed in your description. I’m ok with that cuz of my inventory. But people starting out might have a problem not know exactly what they need.

For anyone having issues with the iron golems spawning outside of the platform: Put glass around the platform on the ground, I built 10 blocks away from the platform all around it.
Another thing: I know he mentioned it in the video but be sure you only have (at max) 3 nitwits in your farm or it wont spawn iron golems. Just something I figured out.
I had the same problem - used leaves instead of glass on the outside ring and that stopped any from spawning outside!
I'm sitting here building this iron farm of yours in my survival world, which works great by the way, when all of sudden a pink sheep spawns in. Now this is only the 2nd time in 12 years of playing, right? Then!...30 minutes later, a 2nd one spawns in. Wow! what are the odds? Great farm...ers luck.

I built this and it worked perfect the first night before I had 30 villagers, I got 30 villagers (no nitwits) and the iron golems started spawning around the farm, I put leaves around it and it fixed it for a little while then went afk for 8hrs or so to come back to all my villagers except 1 were gone. The main villager to set the village middle point was gone, any ideas?
I did it all as you said but golems still spawn outside??

Yeh he doesn't tell you that you have to spawn proof the outside area by at least 30 blocks all around - I've used cobblestone slabs - others use oak buttons....
@@jsee4833is leaves ok? Sometimes a couple spawn in the water area but most of the time they just spawn outside
i built this exactly as shown and followed all rules no golems spawn just cats
edit: okay so i removed the glass blocking the villagers from jumping on top of their workstations and now its working. i think they were somehow jumping up and getting their heads stuck in the glass ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
okay so basically I did recently build this on my map since this was the only thing that I'm missing I have everything else.

if you run into golem spawning outside
play slabs everywhere and put render distance down a little bit and you should be good everything should be spawning there
at sometimes i get 3 to 2 at a time.
any problems that should run in reply to my comment and i could give you a fix.

also best efficient on peaceful mode, since nothing can spawn 💕

if you take off fullscrm and just keep it open you could go watch a show or movie if you want thats what i do and come back and if it breaks just rebreak the bed !!

I built it in my 1.20 realm away from villages and beds, did everything exactly the same and my realm is in hard mode. Cats are spawning but I’ve got no golems yet. How do I fix it? All of my villagers are grown up.

Tame some cats as pets and make them stay near the spawner
I had the same problem, removing the glass blocks above the work stations should solve the problem. This way villagers can get on top of their work blocks.
How big of a trading hall can you build below this?

I build mine 20 blocks above an ocean and it works perfectly. Tamed 5 cats for added efficiency
for me the golem always spawn outside, there's always 2 spawning outside and 1 inside
So all villagers need to access their job blocks except for the 1st villager? 🤔
I don’t suppose you could do a raid farm on bedrock? With the villager nerf librarian arbitrage is no longer viable source of emeralds.
Still prefer your more advanced iron farm but a basic one is great.

Remove the glass blocks above the work stations, so the villagers can get on top. That should solve the problem

For your 96 block is that just horizontally or vertically? So if I want to could I build this farm underground 96 blocks away?
The 96 blocks is horizontal. I believe vertical is around 78 blocks but don’t quote me on the exact number.

They keep unlinking and linking back to the beds but it’s working and every noun and then the iron golem don’t spawn

Yes if you use an app such as bedrock connect.
I play on my phone and it's bedrock edition, will this work for it 😊
Maybe, pocket edition is more similar to bedrock than java

Hey men .. i built your iron farm + villager trading hall with auto discount but lately the discount do not go down.. i afk for 2 hours a few mins ago but nothing.. can you think what happened..
They nerfed villager discounts. You only get one cycle of curing that does anything.
As of the newer updates. You cannot get full discounts.

Place a row of glass/leaves on the ground under that glass outer border - golems seem to spawn on the 9th row on the ground if available.
Can you make this in the air? Or does it have to be close to the ground

Rule number 1 is most important. Also listen to prowl, this is most important.
My golems keep spawning outside of the area, kind of irritating. Did it exactly as you said. I tried to fix by moving edge out by one but still doing it
This can happen if the center of the village shifts to one of the other beds rather than the ones closest to the center. If making the platform larger is not an option you can always place leaves on any solid blocks around the farm to prevent golems from spawning out there.
@@Aggrosk8 I did manage to fix it, I enlarged by one all the way around, replaced top hopper with a campfire for cats and adjusted beds stacked closer to the center. Works like a dream now

Unfortunately villager mechanics are just buggy sometimes and if they unlink and re-link to the beds it can shift the center of the village. You can either make the water platform larger to catch any golems that are spawning outside, or you can spawn proof the area with leaves.
Though I did everything correctly, for some reason the golems keep spawning below my farm. So, I'm going back to your unbreakable iron farm lol.

I wonder if the gollems not spawning if there are more villagers than beds, is the nature's way of population-controlling the villagers?
Think about it. More villagers than beds means the village is "overpopulated." Therefore gollems stop spanwing, and villagers stop being protected by them, untill the number of living villagers is equal to or lower than capacity. Then the gollems come back.

I have a love hate relationship with iron farms I love them but man I hate setting them up. The rules always see to change. The first one I did worked on an off and the iron golem would appear under the villagers. This one I tried but the water was under the villagers underground so as to tie the building into the landscape. Wouldn’t appear for nothing. Had to make a small spot up to with water pushing them down and then built a tower over that. Ha ha ha

So I built this. By accident I built the whole farm one block higher then needed. Iron golems we’re spawning outside the farm. So I filled in all around it with dirt up to 6 blocks away on all sides. Iron golems are still spawning outside the farm. Any suggestions?
Make path blocks all around or some non spawnable block like leaves

Iron Golems aren't spawning in the water area, I built it down to the letter on a super flat world near nothing. Farm isn't working, lowkey disappointed. I saw so many comments saying it worked I was hopeful.
okay so basically this does work but you just need to spawn proof the place with slabs
also I don't know about a super flat but in a regular map it works perfectly fine

With the villager in the water linked to the middle bed, it shouldn't change. Although unlike I did in the tutorial, you may want to keep him right by the bed (1 block inbetween)
@@Prowl8413let's say if the center of the village is changed for some reason, breaking the other bed accept for the middle one it should fix the village center right.The other villager might link to the middle bed instead of the middle villager. The easiest fix that I could think is modifying the villager pods
Hi Prowl, have you tested this at night? I expect the 19 villagers will disconnect from their beds and stop golem spawning. It will fix itself the next day, but more or less halves your afk rates if I'm right
@Eggfur they don't have to be connected to the beds, the beds just have to be present in the village

Probably because the bed you set as the middle wasnt actually the middle of the village so they were offset
