Great video, hit on all the important topics someone like me looks at when trying to decide between the diesel and gas (fuel economy vs. Maintenance, I drive 40k-50k miles per year and rarely tow) One note that bugged me. Please trim your pinky nail! It's like Casanova Frankenstein from Mystery Men is going through the truck!
Love my 18' ecodiesel Crew Cab Big Horn...over 4,096 miles on my trip odometer, I averaged 24.1 mpg. I get 27.5 on the freeway going from Vegas to Los Angeles, 19mpg towing a 4,000 trailer. It tows like a dream and is very quiet, even when towing. My buddies Cummin's is so frickin' loud when he's towing. I still have reservations about this motor though. I am waiting to see how the Gen 3 motor does and I will trade up to a Rebel in a year or so...I have just under 25,000 miles currently on mine.
You should just buy the SFT tune for it and skip the extra $$ for a Gen 3. Makes it a much different truck. I don't work there or anything, just own an 18 EcoD as well and it's a huge boost. Also disables the EGR which is the prime reason the motors burn up. ruclips.net/video/j3SungNYx0o/видео.html
I have 93,000 miles on my 2015 Big Horn Ecodiesel, currently my vehicle is at the dealer since December 20th, 2019. It had the AEM software update back in June, I noticed a very noticeable turbo lag and having less miles per gallon and an odor of a coolant smell soon after. I received the notification about the recall in November and contacted my dealer for an appointment. My cousin also owns a 2015 Long Horn Ecodiesel and had the AEM software update installed to comply with the EPA class action lawsuit. He noticed the turbo lag and poor performance along with a strong coolant smell. He called his dealer in December and was given a late February date to schedule for the recall on the EGR cooler. As of now, over 30 days if an Ecodiesel from 2014-2016 sits at the dealer after having the AEM software update can file for a buyback as per the class action lawsuit. People have reported engine fires and having to replace the EGR system before this recall. Anyone who replaced an EGR and paid out of pocket will be reimbursed by FCA. Sadly, I probably will get a new pickup after getting rid of the Ecodiesel. It’s not worth keeping since the software update really screwed the performance.
Great question, sorry to not get back to you sooner. It's not my truck, I plan to do an update video as soon as the owner will allow me some time with it. If I can remember this question I will see what I can do for an answer.
Yes. Planning to do an update video soon, been hard to get content lately. It's not my truck, as I said in the video, which makes it harder to get the vehicle lol
if any truck pulling any heavy load is sunk down in the rear sooner or later will hurt any truck maybe start swaping or broke springs or the trailer be to rough to handle or the main these the bull hitch will jump off then the trailer will be oF control with only chains will be whole the trailer to any truck [ U THINK U KNOW HOW TO DRIVE THEN , U WILL ONLY HAVE YOUR TRAILER CHAIN STILL HOOK UP TO YOUR TRUCK MIGHT IN UP KILLING SOMEBOBY THEN , OR KILLING U / U WILL WISH THE CHAIN BROKE TOO , AT LEASE U WILL BEABLE GET AWAY FROM THE TRAILER !
I have a review, don't buy that pile of shit! I have one and I have had nothing but problems. Now for the newest problem is the exhaust filter needs to be changed and the part alone is $2935.00. I bought the truck so I could travel from my home in Arkansas to visit my son in California, I can't even make it out of Arkansas. Save yourself don't buy this pike of shit!
Timber Grove air bags for heavy towing, no squat. WDH also a plus. Get it tuned, even better. 100,000 miles on mine.

You'll love the truck until it breaks . It bring a FCA product it will definitely break down . I wait for the 5 year or 8 year review video.
I have one that's 5 years old. Hasn't broken yet. Still factory tuned. And running good.
I like it!
