The people that haven’t been in the field don’t understand why you explain everything as such a high degree, I enjoy it and find it very useful and informative, thank you for your content 💯
I’ve had a detailing business on the side of my full time job for about a year and have been putting things into place for me to do it full time and these videos are very helpful through this process. Great content
You easily can make 75k plus if you can market and upsell inflated and useless services like this kid. Just make sure you’re in an affluent region with an available market. This is a VERY value added dependent service, you MUST be able to communicate well and be a good salesman. If you can do that, you’ll have it made. No need for any real “detailing” skill. However, HIGH quality paint correction without F-ing up the paint takes a little skill which can be learned very quickly.
I’m somewhat in the early stages of this same journey myself. And I was simply curious, how has/did the process go for you since you posted this 2 years ago of working full time for yourself in your detailing business?
@@thatkckidd.6563 probably not the answer you were looking for, but I don’t detail at all anymore other than my own vehicles. Everyone commenting "this is not a ceramic coating" what sealant do you know of that lasts up to 18 months? Thought so. This is a branch for detailers to get into.. For the customers that don't want to pay over a grand, starting, for a 3+ year coating. And anyone commenting that for $600 you'd apply a traditional glass bottle ceramic coating, well I'm sure your work speaks for itself or you truly aren't charging enough. Luke, thank you for making more and more content for detailers that want to be profitable and make a living. You help us tremendously. Would never have thought of this. So much detailing industry stigma and BS.. don't let the haters get to you
Nobody is hating him. Ceramic coating or graphine coating is just a hydrophobic wax. That’s all it is.Your not going to get 18 month from a wax. And that’s all it is a wax.

Great Video Luke! In response to your iron remover idea, i have a different point of view. If you use the iron remover before, you make it easier for the clay bar to pike up contaminants as well as the chemical loosening the particles. I just think that since clay bars aren't the cheapest things in the world, putting less stuff in the clay will make it last longer. We all have opinions and if it works for you then keep doing it as you have been super successful. Once again, great video!
@@Will-ii1dy Gyeon recommend that you use the iron remover before the wash of the vehicle, they say you don’t want iron particles in the wash mitt etc, so do the iron removal then wash it and then tar removal and then rinse and either job done or move on to clay and polish or whatever

@@alecwoodard7665 I have to say TLC2 has done a fantastic job on my truck. I have been using since the new formula came out, literally 2 applications and still beads and repels water like crazy. I do a foam cannon wash about every 3 weeks if not more frequently. I use AMP every couple of washes to give a little extra shine and it works great as a drying aid. I hear the original formula was not so good but second one pretty awesome.
Could just be an exterior package or even a customized package. You don't always have to do interior and exterior, you can do either or. You'd have to see what his package structure is.
Tim Walker either way, this is a rip for what was done. NO detailer is worth $90 bucks an hour. This is unskilled labor. That statement is qualified by the fact that no specific training or qualification is needed to be able to describe yourself as a “professional” detailer and provide this service. Any Joe Shmo can do this, with a minimal investment. Guarantee I could do this job with harbor freight tools and products and 99% of customers would never be able to tell the difference. Why? Because 99% of people are ignorant about this stuff. All they need to see is SHINY! And any defects or shortcomings can be blamed on environmental condition or whatever.
I know its a fickle grey area, but for customers that you have good rapport with, it would be cool if you could get them to agree to get on camera for a reveal/reaction. Especially for jobs like this one or the red jeep. Obviously not relative to the overall content or subject matter, I know, but it would be a fun little bonus for these specific jobs. Just food for thought. THAT BEING SAID, I have been wanting to tell you that I really enjoy and appreciate your content. It is concise, informative, and really well articulated. It really speaks to someone like myself that has good business sense and an appreciation for like minded, studious individuals. Keep on keepin on. Much love from Denver, CO -Cheyne
Great video. Just speaks to the level of “better than” attitudes that go into this business a lot of the time. THIS is realistic. I think it’s a great idea and solution and a great money maker for the average customer. Great job. One note-you said you’re using “bead maker” to clean the wheels and wheel wells but I think you meant brake buster judging from the color. (Had to go back and look lol). That is what you meant right? I’m knew to this level of detailing (on personal stuff) and just trying to learn if you’re doing something out of the box! Thanks!
"Value" is something that gets thrown around so much....this is a really good way to demonstrate. Paying a guy a reasonable amount to go over every square inch of their car doing the most important and impactful things, and not artificially inflating the price with unnecessary services.
I agree! Just find it unfortunate how he's choosing to communicate that value more recently. Calling the lady's Santa Fe an entry level car was a terrible way to start. And this should have been about developing relationship, getting the car back for maintenance work, etc. Instead the focus seems to be on "I just got away with 600 bucks because the lady doesn't really understand what I'm doing". If that's the case and considering she asked for shine, he could have used coconut oil on tires and she wouldn't know the difference.
@@JWL-UK I know my comment is 2 years too late but his commentary flew over your head,he said the client wasn’t interested in the high end process ,but something more cost effective for her to keep her daily driver in good shape he in turn cut some steps and used a less pricey ceramic ,he stated everything done to the car and what he said to the customer there was no sneaky “she doesn’t know anything “it’s all in the video.

Another great video and gave me some new ideas for my side gig. TY
Can u use ceratrim on top of solution finish
I love your business head! Keep on valuing your work bro! Keep it up!
Are you doing interior cleaning, door jams and engine detailing for this price point?
Much love from Denver, CO

Thanks!
You have the link to the ceramic coat?
What product do you use for the exterior plastic ?
Does the $600 include the exterior wash and polish before the coating? Or is it $600 separate?
"Value" is something that gets thrown around so much....this is a really good way to demonstrate. Paying a guy a reasonable amount to go over every square inch of their car doing the most important and impactful things, and not artificially inflating the price with unnecessary services.
Opportunist, definitely.
Congrats on the 100k subscribers!!
Good content as always!!
Keep it up!!
All the best!!
What would or do you use as a trim dressing for maintaining (maintenance wash) trim after applying a restorer like CeraTrim or Cherakote?
Great content, learning a lot!
Mr. Wilson I been watching your RUclips videos. for the last 30years I been detailing for major car lots in Oklahoma I would like to take it to the next stage of detailing been watching your RUclips videos for the last three years I have been learning on using ceramic spray
What can be done to tone down the shine on the tires?
Great idea to upsell with an affordable coating add on!
What is the steamer that you use ?
Willy you are a blessing
I love your business mindset 🙌 I have a business and in the beginning I used to negotiate pricing. Now I don't because I know my worth and value. I've had people who once didn't use my services, call me later because they weren't happy with the other company they went with 😂 I believe cheaper doesn't always mean better 🙌🎯 Keep doing what you are doing!!!
could you use clay mitt instead of clay bar?
Looks amazing!! Thank you for the video for someone like me getting into this business.
That cera trim coating is wonderful!!!!!!
