    My Auto Detailing Business Structure & How You Can Copy It!!! In this video we talk about my exact auto detailing business strategy, why I focus on certain key areas, and how you can do the exact same thing! Detailing businesses without specific long term goals are doomed to fail. Building an auto detailing business where your only business is new customers and more phone calls is not actually building on a long term strategy that will allow you to step back and maximize profits over time. While I love new customers as much as anyone, it is necessary to develop a system that causes your business to operate more and more profitably. Here's how I did it, and you can too!

    • @ChinoV
      @ChinoV Год назад +5

      @@ZackScriven $100 for 2.5 hrs is $40 an hour, minus the cost of the supply & equipment (wear & tear). I use to think $50 an hour is outrageous until I started learning more about detailing lately. You are right, $50 an hour sounds ideal and a reasonable goal for the original commentator.

      Should be $125 to $175 for interior maintenance plus $50 $80 for exterior. That price increases as the task is more difficult which takes more time, skill, and product.

    I’m a software engineer and I found the same thing. I would sell a Website for $8,000 but it would take 3 weeks to build. So If I wanted to make more money I couldn’t add another website because it wouldn’t take me twice as long, it would take me 3 or 4 times as long to finish both.
    So I started selling “maintenance” packages so once the website was done I would maintain it for $200-300 per month.
    That maintenance was typically two or three hours per month so I could maintain 20-40 websites per month. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Can you detail what is considered a “maintenance wash” and how it differs from a full detail?

  • @portcityengineering
    @portcityengineering 3 года назад +7

    the way I grew my detailing business even more was adding property maintenance services ie. pressure washing driveways/houses/awnings and also cleaning solar panel arrays. If My equipment is already out if I can make more cash right away cuts out the packing/unpacking and drive time to the next client. Instead of doing 3-4 $200 ($600-$800) details in a day, say I did 2 $200 details and 2 $200 driveways and 2 $200 solar panel arrays. ($1200)Almost Double the money in the same hours if not less. & depending on the price you choose $200 is just a base number i used.. the only extra tools I needed to add those services to my business was a $80-100 solar extendable panel brush from amazon and a $30 surface cleaner from Home Depot. just something to think about.

      What pressure washer do you use

    • @portcityengineering
      @portcityengineering 3 года назад

      Briggs & Stratton 3100 PSI 2.1GPM, never use a pressure washer on solar panels tho. Only purified water through the solar panel brush. You can use regular water from the hose when you first start out just make sure you dry them good so you don’t make water spots.

      how in the world do you fit 4 details in one day??

    • @portcityengineering
      @portcityengineering 3 года назад

      Jack Kiefer I mainly do interior details only a handful of paint corrections a year. I find I can make more money in less time doing interiors. And if you get your process tuned I found I can knock out a interior detail in 2-3 hours that’s 8-12 hours of work. What I was trying to explain is you can add in other services to sell to customers you already have. and get it done with the tools you already have, while you’re already there. Cutting out the time packing/unpacking of equipment as well as travel time to the next customer... I hope that makes sense!

    • @jackkiefer569
      @jackkiefer569 3 года назад +1

      Jaylen Heres Gotcha. I’m a senior in HS right now and my business is skyrocketing. Right now I’m charging 120 for a full detail on large SUVs, an extra 100 for a full paint correction and 300 for ceramic applications. u think that’s decent? I have my prices in ratios to SUVs for compacts and sedans if that makes sense

    i'ma give you a free tip even though i'm really secretive with my current plans but you added a lot a value so heres to the part of the video were you said you didn't want to train and what i'm about to say is obvious but not in the spur of the moment you want to train 1 person mentor that 1 person and make him the trainer pay him to train the crew or if you are lucky like me and used to work at a certain detail shop just recruit the ex manager who did an exceptional job at training people. delegation and structure is important but perhaps i'm not seeing your vision things have changed a lot with all this online stuff so maybe theres something brand new i'm not seeing.

      You can buy a gas generator bro and a tank for the water bro. A truck would be convenient to carry all the materials bro. Goodluck!!!!

    Hey Luke! We talked on zoom a few weeks ago and I’d love to do it again! I sent you an email. :) If you typically charge Price X for a maintenance detail. And the car gets a little bit more dirty In the span of when you detail it again, how do you tell them the price is going to be a little bit higher? I find that can be awkward and I’m nervous how to tell them it was dirtier and therefore took more time and therefore will be more money. Just wondering how you handle that situation. Videos have been PHENOMENAL lately!!!
