Hi , i have changed mine to a original part but it wont light up , not the new one or the old one , ive tested the current and it have current and ground , but the right side wont light up , any ideas what is kind of annoying cus it shows fault on my dashboard
Very helpful! I got a question..when the mirror came off i noticed that the one heating element is broken and is not connected to the glass so im wondering how do i glue it back on glass? Will it even work?
My sing mirror indicator went the other day and I'm inspired to have a go fixing myself. This is very informative, but my question is does the whole light unit need replacing instead of just the bulb?
Hi this is perfect since I had an old man driving into my mirror just the other day! Do you mean that I don't have to pry the cover of (as you did) if I loosen the two screws and clips at the top?😊
Hi & thanks for posting a great DIY Video. Question, Have you since done the headlamp indicators as well ? If you have, then i'd be very interested in where you bought them from and feedback about quality, etc..
Just tried this on my neighbours car as they asked, but it didn't work? Plugged old one back in and it csme on? So does it need coding in?? Be thankful for any help thanks
Hi mate, I am going to be carrying out this job at the weekend. Your video has given me some insight on how to do the job! Fingers crossed that I can do it without any breakages! Quick question did you manage to find anything regarding headlight indicator? And also I noticed that you had Peter Kay in the cd slot? Does the car play dvds I have the same headunit but never tried a dvd in it? Or even a program/film from memory card? Thanks.
Hi thanks for watching! Not done anything with the headlights at the mo...yep, it should be able to play dvds, you can also enable video in motion, but that would be illegal ;-)
Hi, I need to replace 1 of my mirror indicators and this video will be very helpful thank you. Do you have a link where you got the dynamic ones from please?
I cant believe he stuck an unwrapped screwdriver between the glass and the edge of the mirror cover. I would have wrapped the screwdriver with a towel which would have taken 10 seconds to do and not scratched the plastic mirror cover. This guy AIN'T working on anything I own.
Hi - I was able to change this thanks to your video, which is awesome. Very helpful!
Glad it helped!
This is not a 15min job - it will take your afternoon.
Another great vid mate,
Cheers Dave!!

im not sure you can glue it back on, maybe solder it or ideally get a replacement glass

They are a strip of leds so the whole thing gets replaced

Loving the a5 content, I have a 3.0 v6 TDi model. Excellent car!
Thank you, that v6 is a great engine!

I doubt that indicators need coding, you may have bought a faulty one!

Whole proces to change the mirror indicator.
someone who didn't this before, 90% chance you break some clips. Always have some super glue at your side

Ah yes got it, thank you
FYI: This is a B8.5 not B8 for anyone with an older Audi like mine 2009 & 2010.
Nope, my car was a B8

Cheers pal, I was very gentle and caused no damage!
