Scyther’s pretty interesting. Dual Wingbeat to get around Focus Sash on Pokemon like Meowscarada, Blaziken, or Flamigo, Close Combat for good coverage, and Thief might be not just for Technician, but in case Eviolite is removed, Scyther can move before most opponents and take their item before they can move

From my experience, with one or more moxie boosts and speed boosts, it can essentially do what sneasler does and hit mons like archaludon for an OHKO. It also allows it to pick up KO’s with its other boosted moves and because it’s using focus sash, it doesn’t have to rely on a defensive Tera as much.
@@shiruotakuno28 my guess is that since it's so frail, a defensive tera is basically never worthwhile, and offensively if you have a 1 time 1.5x boost to any of your moves, its a lot easier to consistently grab a surprise KO, boosting *all* your moves with moxie
This reminds me of how I got past spore with electric terrain electsbuzz and H-Goodra sap sipper. I love using mons in non-meta ways and I always make it to masterball rank on ladder. I just finished training a full bulk, support Empoleon with agility, feather dance, and Air Cutter to mess around with momentum.
I tried out Scarf Flamigo and it’s surprising good as a glass cannon. Not many things can switch into brave bird and CC from an adamant max attack Flamigo. 252 Adamant is enough to do 90% to Archaludon and if you do a double up you can realistically score a kill. It also has a 90% chance to OHKO Incin and a guaranteed OHKO on Rillaboom. It also outspeed Maushold so you can smack Maushold for free and easily dispatch Annihilape.
0:31 Hypno is my fav gen 1 psychic type. Of course not because of *STORY* , but because i found its design simple, evil and somehow cool. Moreover this *STORY* is only 1 very rare accident, others Hypnos does not steals kids. You can understand it from reading all pkdx entries, there's said "once there was accident with kid". Once. In doubles i tried to used it as a unfake outable bulky trick room setter, it did its job, sucks it can't hit a thing. And in random battles it is so annoying to fight against for my opponents, as i try to use it as effectively, as possible.
I just love the music choice when you introduced what Wolfe Glick brought to Baltimore Regionals this year, fitting for a bad-ass villain mastermind. Gen 9 Reg H has been a blast for VGC teambuilding, really happy to see a lot of starters get some viable niches (I finally got to use some of the bladebois Ceruledge, Samurott-H, and Gallade within different archetypes to decent success on Showdown!). Here's hoping it gets used a bit longer until next year (or at least have more limits to the pool of Legendaries/specials that are allowed).
I was so disappointed by Delphox back in the day because of its design, and it really should've been a fire fairy, but even I was so happy to see this as someone massively disappointed in the Pokemon at the time it came out. I like it more now, but it still looks a little too much like Fennekin with it's face to me.
I love using weird teams with weird movesets because they don’t even have to be that good-but so much of Pokémon VGC is prediction, and if your opponent has no idea wtf you’re doing, you can have the advantage and make it work.
Before reg H was released I predicted that Toedscruel would be a really good mon paired with weezing but the vgc peeps on Showdown legit said it was a stuoid combo which would never work.
Was on my honey moon during Baltimore (my home city), so I wasnt able to see what evereyone was using. I hopped on showdown just to get smacked by a bunch of copies of Wolffe's team and had no clue where the archetype came from
man ever since gen 8 gave Weezing it's signature ability Neutralizing Gas, that thing's been the only reason why mons with such horrendous abilities can actually be used in doubles (regigigas, slaking, archeops and toedscruel)
"Everyone comes to the same conclusion about what 6 pokemon are the best to use!" And shows the exact 6 i came to that conclusion for. I got embarrassed lmao
Hey I played like 250 games with Scyther on Showdown this last week 😅 Scyther is really strong into Rillaboom Sneasler Kingambit. 5:15 no! Eviolite doesn't multiply the base stat - even if it is close in a case with no defensive EVs, it's still *higher* than that in practice. See me after class.
Ceaseless edge is also boosted by sharpness and sets up spikes and although that's not as important in doubles why is it not better than night slash. I always viewed that as eliminating pokemon that need focus sash I guess it makes a little more sense cuz night slash is 100% accurate whereas ceaseless edge is 95% and 65 base power as opposed to 70 of night slash.
