Emmett Otterton was screaming about night howlers because he's a florist, therefore knows what they actually are.
That's why he was targeted. He'd figured out what was going on, and was going to tell Mr. Big.

Thats really make sense since he not that scarier then the other predator.
Now I am not entirely sure here, but would there not atleast be a small chance that Judy would have recognized the Onions, when the Captain tells her what the Weaselton had stolen, I mean she grew up on a farm, that story of Judy´s mother being bitten, by Terry(her brother?) is that not something any of those children would have been told, at some point growing up, especially in a familly of herbivvores, just a thought 🙂
fun fact: you can see how Nick wasn't actually savage by his eyes, they didn't go thinner or something like the others

Zootopia, “underrated”? As much recognition and praise it has gotten since its theatrical release, Zootopia is a worldwide phenomenon in itself.

Honestly, I do NOT want a sequel, because they might give it the Frozen 2 treatment and rush it to the point of ruining it.

The fact that Zootopia, Moana, and Kubo and the Two Strings all came out in the same year really spoiled us with high quality animated films with diverse stories and animation styles.

Zootopia is not only a great social commentary movie, but its also a great mystery/buddy cop movie. We don't get those anymore.

Oh. I've literally only realised the joke.
Otterton was a florist. He knew and recognized the flower and it's symptoms. That's why he was shot.
He was a relatively small predator. Different from the other 13 BUT he recognized it as night howlers and went to warn big. Big has police and underground connections. If something was happening, he'd know.
So good, Nick and Judy have really good chemistry.
Sometimes they remind me of Anakin and Obi-Wan in Clone Wars

I only think they would be good friends, I thought a lot of other people would think so too, but I’m really not surprised.
Funny thing is when Judy did the math to figure out how much money Nick owed, Judy didn't take take the leap years into account. If she did, the money Nick owed would have been more.
Gideon at the stand told that the flowers were Night Howlers but Judy did figure out the flowers were the ones that made the predators go savage.
I love this film tbh. The characters, story and animation are all amazing.
It's also really cool to see how their society accommodates all kinds of animals w/ different sizes and needs lol. I love great world building in films.
Fun Fact: The reason Mr. Big is that tiny animal is because the Arctic Shrew or any shrew are very territorial and aggressive despite their size. Even their appetite is scary because of their fast metabolism they can eat things that are three times their body weight, they usually eat insects but they can also eat small mammals and vegetables.
Edit: If you were any animal in Zootopia which one would you be? I would be a black Panther like Mr. Manchas, a small WildCat, or a Cheetah. Maybe a fox like Nick too.

The best animation story giving animals a voice with some of their natural stories entwined, we need to remember them as the individuals they all are.
Another one: Flash was speeding because it takes too long to take his foot off the pedal.
I absolutely loved the mystery side of it. It was something different than other Disney Pixar animated movies . And was done in a good way
zootopia isn't pixar tho.

It took me five years to figure out that “Woolter” and “Jesse” are Breaking Bad references. Granted when the movie came out I didn’t know about that stuff but I still didn’t figure that out until today, when you pointed it out. Amazing Easter egg!
Yeah Judy's accusation of predator's biology being reverted was a very backwards, non-scientific, and very wrong accusation.
I think she needed a press secretary to tell her that predators are being "targeted". Make it more like they are being victimized, hunted even. Gain sympathy from the public, maybe offer protection. But then there was no proof of that either

I think it's important ot add that Journalists are very good at producing aimed questions which can subtly alter the answer and so the truth, Judy was put in a tough spot and didn't think about what she was saying, but thankfully Nick was there to confront her about it. Cinema Therapy's video on Zootopia is a great analysis for this sensitive topic and more specifically that scene, as it goes into much more detail than I did here.

Y'know, when you think about it, of course Flash, a Sloth, would drive super fast. He wouldn't be able to move his foot off the gas quick enough to control his speed.
Definitely one of the better modern ones

I don’t think there’s gonna be a “Zootopia 2”, but there are strong rumours about a mini-series soon on Disney+.
Knowing the actuall times, this is bad idea today. Maybe for 3 years, but not today, if you don't want a Judy become lesbian or trans-monster. (No homophobia, but only JudyXNick)

One of my favorite animted movies in the past few years i loved every second of it!! the characters, personalities, art!!! the deep meaning!!! remember it was always predator's vs prey its still in theri dna!!

I mean, there IS the phrase "A wolf in sheep's clothing" for a reason and there ARE hints sprinkled throughout, but unlike most kids' media nowadays, this movie actually respected their intelligence and didn't make it blatantly obvious that that's what's been going on

I loved this movie so much!! actually the mafia boss was inspired by the Godfather , a complete reference to Mr Corleone

Something kinda dark I realized about one part.
Everyone in this world is a mammal. All mammals in this world are anthropomorphic. So that would include skunks. Nick sold Mr. Big a rug made from a skunk. What poor skunk got skinned and turned into a rug?

This is one of my favorite Disney movies along just below Moana slightly. I love how it is a mystery with action a little bit of horror and has lots of heart. I really want Disney to embrace Zootopia and make a sequel.
I mean the chief has a point in not having a rookie on a missing persons case in the first day they're there, and from them to then go and tell one of the loved ones she'll take care of it, giving them possible false hope, I'd fire them just as fast.
Flash drives that fast because it takes forever for his foot to get off the gas. Lol.
I can't remember how much of Nick Wilde's line were improvised but the actor who plays him usually gets artistic freedom because his improvising abilities are amazing.... Edit: Nick Wilde's voice actor is Jason Bateman!! He was in Hancock with will Smith which is also a really great movie one I suggest you check out if you haven't...
This is my mum's favourite movie. When it got to the sloth scene, my mum was screaming so hard and looking away because it was *painfully* slow for her.
Nick: I learned two things that day. One... THERE ARE TRAFFIC CAMERAS EVERYWHERE!
If you watch the deleted scenes for this movie, it almost was a lot darker. The predators were going to have anti aggression shock collars and the deleted scene showed a young predator's "coming of age" party where they got fitted with one.
if you look closely at the application nick filled, the last question is if he had ever been arrested or declared guilty of a crime, and you can see that he had put yes, but then scribbled on it and chose no instead lol

A funny insult that no one really addresses is when Judy goes to talk to Bogo about parking duty he puts on his reading glasses to look at her just to take a jab at how much smaller she is.
There's some foreshadowing when Nick and Judy were checking the security cameras to see who took Manches, when bellweather was still in the room there was Doug's number close to the computer.

One of my faves films ever! Such a great, intriguing story. Lots of fun! I was rolling at the sloths.

I am a fan of the Netflix series Carmen Sandiago and I gotta tell ya… what Nick and Judy pulled on Bellwether was the good old “Bait-And-Switch”. I love it when someone pulls the good old bait-and-switch. Just like how Moana pulled the bait and switch on the giant hoarding crab… (I cannot spell his name 😆)
I remember the trailer for this movie was just the sloth scene and it was absolutely hilarious!
I still can't believe this is in the billion dollar club! It's my all-time favorite and the high ratings it's gotten just makes it more awesome. I just hope whenever Disney does come around and makes a sequel they do it right.

There's Even A Deleted Scene On The DVD Where Judy And Nick Witness A "Taming Party" If You Catch My Drift

Definitely one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. I remember seeing it 3 times in the theaters in the first week it came out.
Ya know, i feel like a good movie can have its boggest issues easily fixed. Most people don't like the ending because the twist villian, but a all change of adding her in woulda maxe the ending more fluid, so i think that croticism isnt as big a problem. It just works.
You're absolutely right. This is exactly like real life.
Something that I appreciate about this film is that it shows how discrimination can get flipped on its head and the oppressed become the oppressors. Like, in the beginning, the predators were obviously the dominant species who had no problem living their lives and the prey had to struggle more (like Judy becoming a cop). But then suddenly when some of the predators "go savage", it's the predators who suddenly are discriminated against.
The thing that got me when Zootopia came out was all of the "predators are blacks; white people need to learn this lesson" messaging going on when the movie itself showed just about everyone suffering from some kind of discrimination or unreasonable expectation based on the type of animal they are. Quite a way to get the message but miss the point.
One if my favorite little details is on the application that Nick filled out there's a question that asked if they've ever been arrested and Nick checked 'yes' but then scribbled it out and checked 'no'
