I love how the sand worms heads are shaped like drills and how they they have little spines that twist down their body. Thats such good design for sand borrowers.

Edit: the reason why I said this is because this version of the leviathan skeleton hasn't been used since GU due to technical issues.

I’m loving how alien some of these new monsters are looking, it really shows harsh the environment of the forbidden lands must be in order to produce such creatures.

Oooohhh. I hope they add more bizarre ones and taking concepts of hazardous areas that we had on this planet and creating some wild fictional creatures even more. Like high pressure oceans turning fish into monstrous forms or harsh environments like the lightning dessert making the monsters more sensitive to vibrations and more. That'd be interesting to find in lore too.

Man the animation team be killing it. It's SOOOOOO smooth. Everything looks so natural.
Between "Frog crocodile" and "Lizard sand worms" these low level monster designs are TOP. TIER.
They're really hyping the roster this time, showing us only 2 or 3 star level monsters
ngl thats peak openworld. they really answered the question "what if we made a game form this biome" and everything accumulated form it.
The bear-looking monster from before reminds me of the monster designs from FromSoftware.
No they are not. They are pretty boring and generic. "Lizard sand worm" is about the most generic premise for a monster ever, and was also already done in World

After going frame-by-frame on the section with the new lighting monster, I noticed the horns on its head actually move after it discharges its electricity at the Doshaguma. Also the skeleton itself most resembles that of Seregios, not the Magalas. The design resembles a Thunderbird from Native American myths. There is actually an ancient Arikara tribe tale called "The Boy who befriended the Thunderbirds and the Serpent". We have our boy and our thunderbirds, now all we need is the serpent...
It would have to be narjarala it's the only non elder snake in the series plus I can see it thrive in this environment

@@cynicalgold9992 true, but they tend to have one flagship monster and a final boss type of monster. And obviously other new monsters but they normally aren't as cool as the flagship, or as strong. Like Rise had magnamalo, and all the other monsters weren't as strong or as cool. Sunbreak had Malzeno, and the other monsters weren't as cool or as strong. And to do what OP said I feel as though they would need either two flagship monsters, or have another monster as cool and as strong as the flagship. Unless they make the flagship monster an Elder Dragon and then add Dalamadur.

The movements and behaviors of those sand monsters looks incredible. And climbing around the surrounding terrain. That's the kind of thing I like to see: More interaction between more game elements. That's what makes games feel dynamic and alive, and what makes them immersive.
I am just ADORING that corkscrew design for moving a monster through sand
gives me hope that Agnaktor will make a come back for this title.

It's intriguing how the line between small and large monsters is becoming more blurred.
As it should.
Imagine a Hippo, does in your mind they fell like 3 times the size of a Lion? A komodo dragon is taller than a jack russel.
This is why I loved to see big popos on iceborn and those Larinoths in mh gen... biologically it makes sense to have big passive monsters, and since Wilds is going for more natural interaction (i.e. packs of small monsters hunting attacking a big one) it only makes sense to have medium and big sized food sources that may or may not defend themselves when in danger.
The monster in the video appears to be based on the design of the monster from Dune and the 2003 film THE HOST.

I say this will be the flagship monster. It has something to do with the lightning, after all. So I think that points to a lot of things.
Could be the apex of that environment instead of a flagship🤷 it probably just takes advantage of the natural storms
It reminds me an awful lot of Shagaru Magala crossed with a seregios. With added lightning of course. Probably the flagship or at least something very special to the locale we’re in, given how it’s implied that it is the source of the storms

It's a wyvern
Yeah it's a flying wyvern, same skeleton as Rathalos but smaller I would say when you compare to the Doshaguma
Its a wyvern. It doesent have forelimbs.
@smaug6784, really? It looks like it manipulated the weather like an elder dragon. Almost like kirin existing creates storms. This one looks like a whole map with stormy lightning weather.
I think it looks like it has a seregios skeleton with how it walked on four legs
So between the crossplay (finally, all the Guild together), that the first 3 monsters are Fanged Wyvern, Amphibian and Leviathan (giving us hopes of a lot of different skeletons) and finally that electric Seregios, which looks very nice, I can say I saw enough.
From today and until the launch of the game, I will close my eyes and play the game without knowing anything else.
I will be waiting to play with all of you Hunters!

Difference being fanged wyvern is more scaley like Zinogre while fanged beast is more furry like Rajang

Everything new we learn just makes it better and better,next year's gonna be amazing!
After rewatching our new friend “Thor Magala” a couple dozen times, I have noticed some interesting things:
A) the blue spiky bits on the side of the beast’s head are actually hidden most of the time, I assume that they extend when it enrages
B) the horns seem to only face forward when using it’s lightning, upon close examination; after utterly decimating Doshaguma, if you stare long enough it at 0.25x speed; you’ll see that after the attack, the horns begin to retract, how far back I don’t know as the trailer cuts to another scene before then fully retract
C) it seems to be quite adept at using Thunder Element, you can see a thin line of lightning between it and Doshaguma before launch a blast of electricity at it, whether it’s harnessing real lightning or generating it own electricity is anyone’s guess but typically non elder dragons don’t create their own lightning internally so it’s possibly the former…
D) it’s tail is covered in glowing blue spikes similar to the ones that extend from the side of it’s neck, expect Thunderblight to accompany a tail sweep lol
Either way; “Thor Magala” looks pretty frickin’ good!

Thor Magala is actually an interesting name.
But people speculate that those monster is actually a flying wyvern, since that thing uses the same skeleton as Seregios. If it was a Wyvern, the fitting name would be "Thoregios".
It's as if Shagaru Magala and Zinogre had a love child together 😂😂😂

THAT"S WHERE THE LIGHTNING IS COMING FROM IN THE STORMS
Perhaps it could be a creature that is not the cause of the lighting storms but a consequence of them, as in they use the lighting from the storms to power up and ad Thunder to their arsenal.
It would be SO COOL if they have a Seregios like move-set when the climate is clear and becomes much more horrifying when a thunder storm falls!!
Or maybe it has evolved into a monster that can harvest the lighting of the storms for its own needs.
Doubtful, it likely benefits in some way from the storm but I don’t think it is the cause.
i dont think so, its a Wyvern, not an Elder Dragon, its possible its merely harnessing the lightning from the storm, the storm is a byproduct of the Elder, or whatever phenomenon an elder has caused.
doesn't really look like an elder dragon more just a new flying wyvern, i'm guessing it'll get blamed for the storms but the real culprit is a bigger elder dragon
That new thunder wyvern may be the new flagship. Looks awesome!! At 1:34 you can kinda see the face outline of it. Cool awesome railgun blast from it. Gonna be a fun hunt!
I'm sure this has been pointed out somewhere, but if you look VERY closely at the scant few frames we see our mystery lightning monster, it's horns are moving into position for its big lightning attack. It seems to splay back out, to its sides, for its "normal" look after the attack is over. It's subtle, but it's there.
Some have pointed out Magala inspirations for this monster, this just adds to that for me (although I doubt it's related to them genetically).

in the Stories games, there are at least two that outright speak voice acted human.
They are not "canon" titles but yeah, the felyne language is more endearing as purrs and meows.
I want the cheebacca/pokemon way of talking to them to at least be an option.

What fascinates you about the mount part? I personally think it kinda sucks hard. The mount in rise was useless af and the mount in world even more. Id rather have wirebugs than the mount.

I dont think many people noticed that but i love all of the hunter and monster animations. Like the wrom monsters twisting in sand or female hunter's hairs even being properly animated! Capcom is preparing another hit in the series!

I believe, at 1:34, that IS the flagship of MH Wilds.
- It powers up into another phase and changes it's appearance. Seems to be inside that huge circular structure.
- It's element (thunder) is related, but not directly, to disaster going on in the local. Therefore, everyone will blame it for causing those lightnings. But, in relality, the Final Boss is the cause of those lightning. And they will never reveal a Final Boss in an initial trailer.
-- Also, it is shown having a turf war with another monster. Means it is a normal large sized monster.
It also would work with this new flying/gliding mechanic. Which seems to be what Wilds is introducing as a main feature. Definitely might be the flagship.
I just hope we get wind as an element back again. Especially with all the sands. It would be perfect.
That would make it the 4th Flagship to use lighting after Lagiacrus, Zinogre and Astalos.
Funny how there are a billion Fire Monsters but they are not the most common thing for Flagship Monsters.

maybe, but I feel like is a bit underwhelming for a flagship monster. we got a Nergigante, Velkhana, Magnamalo and fricking Malzeno, and that thing doesn't seem even close as striking as them. But maybe in a different phase, who knows
Rathalos the original flagship was a fire monster. I suspect because fire is seen as a more common element for wyverns / monsters it’s not as cool and the flagships gotta be cool. That’s why they’re often thunder. It’s just cool

I've been playing since Monster Hunter Freedom 2, and Monster Hunter World has been one of my best experiences with video games. I hope Capcom continues making games like this, because for me and the fans we will continue to wait for them with the same enthusiasm as the first time.

i'm loving the focus on wyivern riding i can't imagine navigating the maps on foot again , i can't wait to create my own riding wyvern they look cool

1'We actually have a Mongolian Death Worm monster that's a form of a Leviathan. And they're coming back to. 2: That Thunder monster that we can assume is the Flagship seems to be a Flying Wyvern. The fact it has a lightning Railgun for horns gives me Boltreaver vibes.
we only saw nergigante in one of the latter trailers for world so I doubt "Thor-magala" is our flagship for wilds
@@pa_ra Maybe, maybe not. But who knows, it could be one of multiple Flagship monsters like the Fated Four. Also I see Rurikhan's nickname for the new thunder monster is reaching out, best name ever.
@@dhisufiroa1957 This could make sense because this wyvern may be related to the storm in this area which implies other areas may have a different monster which is main threat of that area.
I really love the Dune and Tremors references with those sand monsters ! That's creative !

A really cool monster concept is one that can use heat to heat the sand up and turn it into glass that would be sick it could make spires out of the glass or flick it around like seregios it would be awesome

That sand worm monster kind of looks like a cross between Dalamadur and Uragaan to me. Super cool and unique, can wait to hunt one for myself when the game releases!
It’s glorious. The snake things with the Lagiacrus skeleton are glorious, the miniature lightning Shagaru Magala is glorious, and it seems that the story is also glorious. I love it. Everything about it. Can’t wait for the demo

this will be the game of the century, if capcom manages to make it even better than world... and mhw/iceborne did not need a lot more to be literally perfect, despite arguably being a 10 out of 10 game already.

Game seems to take place in a location with a lot of ancestor species. The monsters all have morphological similarities, but a lot of prehistoric elements. The electric wyvern has a lot of elements similar to that of Zinogre, in which Zinogre is a Fanged Wyvern, and has a lot of vestigial elements left over from it's evolution from a wyvern. The Doshaguma has a lot of elements similar to creatures like Arzuros, and Goss... and the Chatacabra lacks tusks and has a much smaller jaw than Tetsucabra --- but they both share similar defensive mechanisms (Chata uses it's tongue to stick rocks to its arms, while Tetsu digs up larger rocks and uses them as a shield and as weapon).
Also at the end the kids village is being attacked by Doshaguma implying that this area doesn't sit underneath the guild network. We might be showing up to a village that has gone unprotected and unknown for some time. Now we are there, and discovering progenitor species to the monsters we know.
I think you’re right about the evolution stuff and I know that is often how they come up with monsters. Also, the village being in the forbidden lands it likely does not have guild hunters which is why Alma says “now you’ll see what hunting is about”. Looks awesome!

I feel sorry for the people who think Wilds will have a Masterrank at launch, Monster Hunter never did this and theres no reason for them to suddendly start duing this.
Expect Wilds to be Lowrank and Highrank only with a Monster roster of 30-40 large Monsters untill the expansion comes out.
And master rank is always worth it.
A Sand Dweller Dune Wyvern and a Storm Electric Flying Wyvern
The worms look like a mix of the Stygian worm from Darksiders and Sand worms from Tremor
The flying storm shock wyvern looks legit!

Ill never get enough of lightning wyverns (my favorite element).
Imagine making lightning gear from that thing instead of only having access to tobi kadachi for thunder element. It’s gonna be so much cooler!

@@Black0ut6961 I think it would be awesome too if certain weapons had attacks or visual effects based on the monster like if the gunlance and heavy bowgun from that lightning railgun wyvern could shoot out a lightning bolt as their wyvern fire effect. That would be amazing
Some people seem to be confused but the lightning monster at the end is a flying wyvern, not an elder dragon. You can see it has two legs and then wings.
I mean, Dalamadur and Kirin don't have 4 legs and 2 wings, so there is still a possibility for it to be an Elder Dragon no matter how slim.
Forgot to mention Yama Tsukami, Lao-Shan Lung, Jhen Mohran, Dah'ren Mohran, Caedeus, and Nakarkos.

Elder dragons are classified with their abilities, not appearance. Monsters are classified as Elder dragons when their abilites are not yet understood, for example Safi'jiva is a elder dragon because scholars dont yet understand about its abilites, thats why kirin is a Elder, since reseachers dont know how it does its lightning bolts. I very highly bet this is a elder dragon
