I love Gideon's character (the bully fox), because the way he apologizes to Judy is not just a random apology at all, the way he explains why he acted the way he did, thats therapist talk, meaning he actually went to a therapist to try to be better, to help with his issues
Amen! That was a good apology and I love the implication that he got professional help... and that there IS help for bullies. It's really easy to write people who behave like he did in the beginning off, but it is possible to change those behaviors and grow into a better person if they're willing to put in the work.
Isn't he a wolf?
@@YashRaj-dz5fj Gideon is a fox, he states it in the beginning
@@Kaitlyn_key18what the actual?
@Kaitlyn_key18 who f**king asked!?!?
the smaller fox is a “fennec fox”, it’s a small desert fox. super cute :)
I’m glad you guys enjoyed Zootopia as much as I did. Btw the girl is pure comedy and she pinpointed every single twist about this movie. She was spot on. Keep the collaborations coming.
Yeah it’s really a fun one, and thanks! And glad to hear that, Jessie cracks me up too haha
My jaw was on the floor, I couldn’t believe how easily did that!!!
30:48
Fun fact: The weasel is voiced by Alan Tudyk, who also voiced the Duke of Weselton in Frozen. And in Zootopia his character is named Duke Weaselton 😂
Yep
I would have spelled the video title "we sheep them".
For Flash being a "fast driver".. When you think a second about it, it made perfect sense. From the moment he decide to press the accelerator, to the moment he finishes the move, he has enough time to reach max speed. And whenever he sees a red traffic light, he had the time to actually burn a handful of them before actually starting to brake.
Ah I never saw rhe things that way😲
First of all that's hilarious for the title. And second, WOW, I never realized that about Flash but it's so cool that it makes in world sense that he's a speed demon, along with it being a hilarious subversion. Comments like yours here are just so great! :)
There is actually explanation: they are late to concert. They are - Flash, his girlfriend whom he just proposed in restaurant and the waitress in back seat who stuck serving them so also was very late.
Source: there are a series of short cartoons which develop some characters: Sloth, Mole, Weasel, and some more.
The thing is, it is Zootopia for a reason. Shipping is not possible
Society is not functional, economy as well, relationships- by definition.
13:01 This line made me laugh so much, because the actress who plays Judy was Snow White on Once Upon a Time.
Oh no way!
I ship em too! Since Zootopia is all about prejudice, exploring an interspecies relationship would be perfect for the follow up!
Which will probably take a while, what with Zootopia+.
There's a fan-movie here on youtube of them as a couple called Return To Zootopia (ruclips.net/video/aVBQD2etF5k/видео.html) which is pretty pretty good.
@@9401maru I know. I even made a review of it. ruclips.net/video/6zOTFt5Wh48/видео.html
the only issue is they aren't closely related species so they can't reproduce but maybe they could adopt
Isn't nick like 32 and she's like 22? I think
@@twodollarking8009 Nick is 32 and Judy is 24
Mr. Big is an Arctic shrew. The director specifically chose a shrew because shrews are predators (of insects mostly, but also small frogs and such) and have such a high metabolism they have to almost constantly eat, and sometimes will even resort to cannabalism. They are ruthless. Also it ties in with the whole prey vs. predator plot - Mr. Big himself might have eventually been a target of mayor bellwether, so he had every reason to help Judy interrogate the weasel even without her having saved his daughter.
Also the fact he has a whole bunch of polar bears under his command, so if they go feral....
18:26 Nick Wilde: "In Zootopia, anyone can do anything!"
Also Nick: *judges someone for using CDs*
The cut at 13:17 is absolute perfection. Was not expecting that and my water went everywhere. 10/10.
I couldn't resist ;)
I’m glad I’m not the only one who shipped them, I thought I was being weird lol.
Not weird at all :)
the entire fandom ships them lol
The small fox is a fennec fox. Cute, but will actually "bite your face off"
😭😭😭I love when Jesse is in the videos. She's so funny and you guys work really well together
Thank you! And I agree, Jessie makes comments that are just too funny even while editing I’m busting up haha
This is one of those movies that caught a lot of people by surprise on how deep it went with some of these topics. Deep by animated feature standards, at least. And, heck, I saw a video just the other day that was like... 10 trailers that they'd created from the movie, portraying it in 10 different genres. It really says something when a movie can be presented in that many lights and still work.
Despite being a kids movie, it does contain elements of racism bigotry and xenophobia that we deal with in the world today, while learning how to deal with it.
Exactly! Some truly nuanced and important messages in this movie!
I mean yeah but why are you saying it like its some hidden truth that has to be extracted from the film? It has the subtlety of an extinction event meteor lol.
@G R I think a lot of animated movies are automatically labelled “kids’ movies” tbh. The truth, at least for a lot of the better-written ones (and this goes for animated TV shows too), is usually closer to the fact that the people making them are just trying to make something that they would personally enjoy watching, and animation is the medium they enjoy working in. And then maybe some edges get sanded down a little so they can be enjoyed by kids as well as adults, but not as much of that is needed as most people think.
@G R
A kids movie doesn't mean it can't have something "deep", if it's deep it would still be a kids movie, well, mostly a family one? It depends on the target audience i'd say
I thought it was a mediocre movie. I wish they would of gone with the original plot where Nick Wilde is the main character and the "racism" is bumped up ×1000
I shipped them too when I first watched this. I think their personalities balanced each other out very well. Also, I believe I fangirled over the fox cause they animated his eyes to be so dreamy haha. Maybe that’s part of their “chemistry”??
“this guy always eats donuts”…if you fail to have a police officer eating a donut in a film, then something has seriously gone wrong with the script haha
15:02 - the sound of soothing sitars playing in the background - “Is it the strip club?” That bit caught me off guard 😂
The Bellwether twist always bugged me…it came out of nowhere so it felt kinda forced…
The overall message of the film is good I think. I’ve never been a fan of labelling people no matter what side of the fence you’re on so I’m glad they explored this theme in a really fun way.
PS: is it weird having a character that has the same name as yours? Like does it take you out of the film? Cause mine isn’t that common so I’ve always wondered?…random question, I know lol
Yeah having the characters be attractive can be a nice chemistry boost, and the way I cut the part at 15:02 might be a bit jarring but I think Jessie was saying this because of the setup of Nick acting like they were going somewhere Judy wasn't ready for... but it's funnier like this I think hahaha. But I liked how the message was wholesome and a bit nuanced without becoming heavy handed or forgetting to entertain.
As far as having a character with your name, that's an interesting question and observation. I don't think it took me out of the movie too much, but I do remember when filming there were a few times Jessie said 'Nick' and I thought for a second she was talking to me, not making a point about the character. I'm also happy/ relieved that I like the character of Nick a lot in the movie for some reason, maybe because it makes me feel like I can be cool like him haha (never gonna happen)
@@nickreacts6394 15:02 wasn’t jarring really, I just burst out laughing cause I heard the soothing music beforehand. I think they usually play more upbeat music in strip clubs? Although the location and vibe did remind me of Littlefinger’s secret lair, so I suppose it’s possible 😅
And thanks for answering about the name thing. I always find it interesting and I’m glad it didn’t ruin your experience. Last experience I remember was seeing bits of Baywatch on TV cause there’s a character called Stephanie but since no really calls me that in real life I felt detached anyway.
FYI I really like the characterisation of Nick the Fox too. He gives me a bit of Dimitri vibes (Anastasia). He is definitely cool, but what’s “cool” on film may not be cool in real life…Not sure if I gravitate towards people who are slick/ smart alecs in reality haha. Regardless, you ARE cool. You’re Thor! :)
Yeah Bellwether is widely regarded as one of the worst Disney twist villains.
She is kind of lackluster and yeah the twist is out of left field even if she tries to explain her reasons.
That 'partner' of Nick is a fennec. It's a small kind of fox that is native in the Sahara.
It's funny because in France, there's an old animated serie where the main character is an anthropomorphic fennec (the title is " Fennec "). I thought of it because I hadn't seen a movie or a serie with this type of animal since then
I ship them too! Love this movie.
Honestly I think it’s hard not to :) the chemistry is strong!
Save a Mobster's Daughter get protection for life. Love it. The moment Judy's bully apologized that was beautiful. Mirrored by Judy apologizing to Nick. I have always loved this movie and hope we get to see a 2nd one. OR a series of Judy and Nick solving crimes. [name] "The Cases of Judy & Nick, Zootopia Police." I'd watch that. Who is with me?!?!
Fun fact: The moose newscaster near the end is named Peter Moosebridge, and is played by Canadian newscaster Peter Mansbridge.
It's here!!! I can't wait to see your reaction, but I already know is gonna be a good one
Thank you!!
Okay, I really liked the Eddie Izzard clip thrown in there! That was edited in so perfectly!
I’m really enjoying your collaborations together watching these animated films! It’s fun getting to see the interaction between a person whose watched the film and someone who hasn’t. Watching you try not to give anything away reminds me of myself whenever a friend asks about a film and I say it’s good and they ask “Why do you think it’s good?” Ooooh the struggles of trying to be vague yet still wanting to just tell so much to them!
Great video!
So happy to see someone recognize Eddie, Dress To Kill is one of my all time favorites! And I'm also glad you're having fun with Jessie and our reactions together, personally it's just so much fun to share these movies with her, plus her great sense of humor gets me haha
by the way, the small fox with nick towards the beginning is called a Fennec Fox, which even at their adult stages are VERY tiny
I see a few people have answered about Nick's partner being a fennec fox.
So Mr. Big is an arctic shrew. They may be small, but they're super aggressive and can take down prey up to twice their size because they're one of very few mammals with a venomous bite.
When Nick touches Bellwether's wool, it's an easter egg of the people who do the same with afro hair.
Fun fact : in France, we already had a movie with a parody of the administration. It's the movie " Les 12 travaux d'Astérix " (the 12 labors of Astérix) and one of them is called " The house who makes crazy "
@btamamura yes, this movie is perfect. I always wonder which scene is the funniest
In case you didn't know it, Roger Carel, the guy who voiced Astérix, left us two years ago 😔
He was considered like the boss if the french voice act (in particular in Disney movie)
@btamamura he was also Alf, the robot C-3PO, Chaplin in " The Great Dictator " and a lot of Disney characters like Bernard of " The Rescuers " Kaa of " The Jungle book ", The Cheshire Cat, Winnie the Pooh, Coco Rabbit and Piglet...
This film will always have a special place in my heart.
In late February 2016, I developed Ulcerative Colitis and ended up in the hospital a couple times.
After I got out of the hospital the second time and made a big recovery this was the first film I saw in the theater since my ordeal.
I’m okay now and in a much better place now though.
PS Back in February, Disney confirmed a sequel is officially happening. Which makes sense because there’s so much potential for these characters and world. Especially for Nick & Judy’s relationship.
The miniseries, “Zootopia+” is pretty good too though
You were wondering what creature Nick's criminal cohort is. He's a fennec fox.
"I need to see more anime" + "no wonder why the kids like it" + "I think it's stupid" = you're a good friend for taking the time to show her... well, anything. ^^;
Nick's partner Finnick is a fennec fox, the smallest fox species in the world and they live in the desert.
As someone else pointed out, Judy is practicaly the most powerful cop of the city, what with her being part of "the family" and the actual godmother of Mr. Big's granddaughter. So Bellweather should count herself lucky.
The Jumbo Pop isn't really overprized consindering their size, they're HUGE, even for us humans. The Jumbo Pop's primary costumer base are large animals like elephants (you know how big they are compaired to us humans). I bet that the prizes and salaries are different depending on which size an animal is because tiny animals like mice don't eat as much or require as much space like say an elefant or a giraffe, so logically the rent for a mouse apartment is much less than a human apartment or even moreso, an elefant apartment (which rent have to be way more expensive).
I think that little animal is the corsac fox, looks like it.
Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up! I was curious…
It's a fennec fox. He's even called Finnick.
@@rdevries3852 Yes, you're right. I got mixed up, oops! :)
I also noticed that Doug's phone number was on Bellwether's phone.
19:09 it's an arctic shrew. Here's how vicious they are: they have to eat 10x their body weight every day just to survive. They'll even eat other shrews.
Nick's police application form - under 'have you ever been arrested' he's ticked 'yes' and then scribbled it out and ticked 'no'.
00:00 wOOO
"Is it the sloth" I can see the movie primed you well for the end
9:30 whAAA-- _Fennec Fox~_ I love em so much
learned about em sometime, then actually went to the zoo and saw a little group-- all elementary days, so hence the whaa reaction; iirc the ear size/structure is for cooling
11:46 one of the creators/writers
14:19 gets me every time, I'm glad you included the actual sound because most people have the movie come back in the second after
25:25 ask and answer your own question tactic
27:27 it wasn't even that startling I
27:50 you know it's not about seeing him though
31:50 for me the best parts of the scene to this point are "It'd take a miracle..." *works" "Well...hallelujah!" and the way they both startle and slowly turn their heads in sync at that bang at 31:57
9:38
He's a fennec fox, they're as small as chihuahuas but with massive ears 😂
fun fact: Shakira vetoed the initial design of her character because it's butt was too small :)
no-so-fun fact: initially this movie had a much more darker theme to it, with the predators wearing collars that would zap them, ghettos and stuff, but it was deamed not suitable for the kids
Keep the collabs coming! Love her!
Also I Ship Nick and Judy 110%. I want more of it
I'm a big fan of the Nostalgia Critic commercial reviews, but seriously... Who else thinks Clawhouser deserves an NC original "I 🍩 donuts" T-shirt for his birthday?
Happy birthday, Benjamin Clawhouser! We 🍩 you, too! 🥳
Zootopia is truly one of the best Disney movies in recent years. Can you react to Dreamworks’ The Bad Guys soon? It’s the same format as zootopia but it’s used more for style than storytelling. Highly recommend it
To answer ur question, Nick’s “son” is a Fennec Fox
The little fox , with the bigger ears ,is a Fennec fox. 👍🏻
Ya love to see it!
The let it go thing just cracked me up.😂😂😂😂
I actually have one of those carrot pens! 🥕 Yes, it both writes (has a ballpoint refill inside) and records audio. 😁
I ship them too. And great, and very thoughtful reactions from you both! Thanks for this -- it was a lot of fun.
Beautiful, funny, awesome reaction from both of you! This was so enjoyable to watch💋💞
So glad you had fun watching, thank you :)
I love this movie! Nick stole my heart then again I love foxes .
I love this movie but I've also been loving you two as a duo! Honestly way up there in one of my favourite reactors. I just wanted to ask tho, would you eventually do another collab with White Noise?? Enjoying all of your reactions so far, your thoughts at the end of movies are ones I actually sit through and watch from start to finish!! I struggle with focusing but you honestly make it really easy to watch and listen!
Wow thank you, it's been a real blast for me reacting with Jessie. And yeah doing a collab with White Noise it's something we've discussed, we just have to figure out scheduling (and also we live far away so probably over zoom) But thank you so much!
I'M GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SHIPPED THEM😍😍
Wow she was so big brain throughout this whole reaction! Big props!
One thing I noticed about the world of Zootopia is that there are no birds, reptiles or primates. I guess primates were left out because they're too close to humans
Great reaction!
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
Nick is a fox the smaller white animal is a fennx fox dressed as a elephant
9:33 He is a fennec fox, a type of small fox from Algeria
Thank you!
Zootopia is actually my all time favorite movie right next to The Lego Movie and Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Nick's small accomplice is also a fox, but a fennec or something like that.
Early on, there is already a bit of stereotyping about predators and prey. Even in the real world, not all predators are vicious and not all prey are meek, especially the latter. Ever seen a lion get chased away like a scared little kitten by a rhino or elephant?
I love that you ship them too ❤🥰 their chemistry is so cute and interesting 👏👏👏
**WE ALL SHIP THEM!!**
This movie was originally about fascism not racism. All of the predators had to wear shock collars. There are even late stage animations of this concept.
I have the same glittery cup with the straw 😊
@9:30
I think the small one is a Fennec Fox.
The small guy playing the "baby fox" is a fennec fox. The godfather was a shrew.
For a bunny in real life, I think foxes might be scarier because foxes hunt them and can sometimes catch them, while bears usually eat berries and fish. These large omnivores wouldn't waste their time and energy hunting bunnies, while smaller, quicker, more nimble foxes often do.
correct
also, pet bunnies might be safe from large animals like bears, but foxes are practically everywhere and they're small enough to simply burrow under a fence when they see a bunny.
Loved the surprice Izzard-moment! :D
The carrot logo on the phone has a bite taken out of it, too, just like the Apple logo in real life. 😆
Eeeek!!! I love this Movie!!!!
It’s just awesome 👌
I love how the chick think bc a sheep is turning animal evil that mean the mayor sheep is in on it. Lol that called the R word
After watching this movie, my friend and I will always shout "judy hops" when we see a "meter maid" coming down the parking strip xD
Cool reaction vid!
Thank you so much!
@@nickreacts6394 yeah no prob dude! So as you can see I am new to your channel and before I came stop by watching your videos watch the part 1 and 2 of the joker. I have recently finished Portal 2 for the first time. Now, anytime JK Simmons is in anything, all I hear in my brain are his lines as Cave Johnson.
"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your lemons! What am I supposed to do with these?! BURN LIFE'S HOUSE DOWN! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?! I'M THE MAN WHO'S GOING TO BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN! WITH THE LEMONS!"
JK Simmons is legendary in anything he does.
Love this one)))
Has she seen Turning Red? That would be a fantastic reaction
Well, at least Judy was repeating what a researcher had stated.
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
Thank you! :)
Where is the shakiras concert at the end 😢
Wow, she caught that Bellwether was sus pretty early on!
the fox "kit" is a fennec fox they are the smallest species of fox so compaired to other species an adult would look like a baby i just googled the size comparison a red is 3ft long 2ft tall & under 30 pounds while a fennec is like 8 inches tall & no more then 3 pounds
Omg I love Eddie Izzard! 😀
I recently watched a movie that think you would really like, I'm not sure if you've watched it but if you have can I have the link? It's called A dog's way home, and it's a super good Live action movie about a dog's relationship with their owner.
I know this is 3 months ago, but has she ever seen the Iron Giant? Heck, what about you as well? It's personally my favorite animated movie and it's by the director that did The Incredibles and Ratatouille... Amazing movie
guys if you like ships you can find a lot of fancomics on youtube about Nick & Judy
34:17 Very uncommon villain trait! 😆
Anime, cartoons and 3D animations are 3 absolutely different things
$15 is not that bad considering the size of the Popsicle, though.
