    I think I’m just going to do my own stitch for the month of May. I have pulled this thing out so many time and I just can’t anymore or I’ll just toss it in the trash. I don’t know if it’s menopause brain fog, but I can not end up with 192. I also don’t end on the same stitches in the video which means I’m doing FBDC instead of BPDC and 2 each stitches. I really had high hopes that this blanket would be beautiful but I guess not. Not to be this person but I kinda miss the days of the older videos version of Tiffany. I am really happy for your successful RUclips channel but remember it was us OG’s that helped get you there. Now we need to pay for more detailed help.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад +3

      I completely understand where you're coming from Kathleen. What sucks is that being my older version here on RUclips penalized me with the algorithm.
      I found myself spending days working on videos and projects that would pay me $10 as a return. That amount of time away from my children and husband as well as not being able to contribute to my household for such a small return caused me to have to figure out a whole different way to be here on RUclips. As you can see I've had to change a lot about my videos and presentation here on RUclips to play the Algorithm game. But over in my Crochet Club Membership you get the original me. I can actually be there for my people in the way I want to be. I can be live with you, do projects with you that YOU want to do not just what will get the most views. I can be that person you miss, and I am that person. On top of that, I really kept people in mind when I chose how much to make the membership. $5.99/month is the cost of one cup of coffee or one crochet pattern each month. For the amount of value I provide over there and the amount of time I am dedicating away from my family to be there for people, I think that is a steel.
      With the way RUclips is changing everything about their platform and what people want to see, you will see a huge change happening with the content creators. I'm sorry that it's not like it use to be. But it's never going back. I just hope my side platform IS what you miss and that you give it a try.
      If you would like to just take a peek here is the link: members.crochetwithTiffany.com
      I will never forget my OG's and the people who have got me to where I am. You are my foundation that lifts me up. I will forever be grateful to you. Thank you for all of you love and support. ❤️❤️❤️

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад

      Hi C Bonn. I think I responded to your most recent question but just in case I'll answer here too. Our main goal for row 1 is to achieve 192 stitches per row to get the pattern to work. Be careful not to confuse the Linen stitch turning chain as a stitch to work into. You will want to count your stitches here.
      In that last stitch, Hopefully the 3rd Front Post Dc. You will also want to make a Dc stitch on top of that same stitch to get the count to work. By making both stitches in and around that last stitch space you will be able to go from 191 stitches per row in the Linen stitch row to 192 stitches in the Basketweave stitch row.
      IF you need more help or guidance with this I highly encourage you to give my Crochet Club Membership a try! There I have weekly LIVES with Zoom options where you can show me what you are working with and I can help you immediately right there.

    Hi Tiffany. I have followed along with row 1 of the basket weave pattern, no problem However, at the end of row 1 I have 3 FPDc followed by 1 BPDc & 1 DC in the last stitch which is not what you have. Is this because you're working on a smaller sample & not the full 192 count? Reason why I'm asking is because when I turn my work for row 2, I chain 2 & then I have only 1 FPDc followed by 3 BPDc. I'm using size 4 wt. yarn & I have 192 stitches & I rechecked my work multiple times. Has anyone else had this problem? Tiffany can you help me? Thanks!

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад

      Hi Mrs. S.! Honestly, if you are working your project and ending with 192 stitches in your row that's great! What I would do is, instead of making your last stitch a post AND Dc I would just make your last stitch a Dc. That way you can keep the post stitches clean 3 and 3. I hope this helps! 😊🧶❤️

      That’s right. It will make more sense when you work it up. Row 2 will look like the opposite or row 1 because we want those stitches to look the same as we work the first 2 rows. Then row 3 we flip everything. Haha, it does not make sense just reading the pattern, but as you turn your work it will make more sense.

  • @ruthtretter2628
    @ruthtretter2628 Год назад +1

    It appears to me that the double crochet at the beginning and the end adds two extra stitches. 192 is divisible by 3 - so with the two extra stitches that would make 194 stitches per row correct? 64 trios of post stitches plus a double crochet at the beginning and at the end of each row. Is that the intent?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад

      Hi Ruth. Honestly, I'm not sure how the count ended up working for me but it did the 3 times I worked up the basketweave stitch off of the Linen stitch. Yep, we are working that chain 2 in the beginning which counts as our first Dc and will take that first stitch space. Then work that group of 3 posts/3 posts across, ending with a Dc stitch in the last stitch space. If you do not have to make your last Dc stitch in the same stitch you make your last post stitch like I did then GREAT! Don't worry about following me exactly, just make sure the pattern works. 😊❤️🧶

    I'm really anxious to do the May stitch but haven't received the correct instructions😢 for row 1. I would appreciate it, if you know, please reply. Thanks

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад

      Hi C Bonn. The instructions are right. If it would help you out, some people are making one or two rows of Single Crochet stitches between April's stitch and May's stitch to break it up. That makes it easier to make those post stitches for May's Basketweave stitch. Be mindful to have a loose stitch tension here. Otherwise it will be more difficult to make that post stitch.
      The pattern for row 1 should go: slip stitch in the first stitch space to attach the yarn to the blanket.
      Chain 2 (counts as the first stitch and will take that first stitch space)
      Front Post Double Crochet around the next 3 stitches, Back Past Double Crochet around the following 3 stitches.
      Repeat the 3 and 3 post stitches across the blanket. Last stitch will be both a post stitch AND a Double Crochet stitch to
      make the count work for the pattern. (refer to the video for a visual example of me doing this)
      I hope this helps! For more help or information check out my Crochet Club Membership on my website www.CrochetWithTiffany.com. @vvwilliams366 Год назад +1

    Sorry. I just started working on the blanket in June. Idk what I did wrong, but my sides are looking terrible. Please tell me there's an easy fix for this. And the basket weave stitch I've ripped apart not 1 but 7 times. 😢 I'm trying very hard not to throw in the towel.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад

      Hi @vvwilliams366. I completely understand where you are coming from. Maybe the comment section of each stitch video can help put your mind at ease. February's Bead stitch threw everyone off. But if you stayed on count you will be fine when we put a border around the blanket.
      The other issue was stitch tension. When working a project that has multiple different patterns you have to be mindful of your tension and know when to really loosen up or tighten up to keep the sides of your work straight. This is purely something you have to eyeball. When you change stitches for the month, work a couple rows, set it down, see if the sides are staying straight or if you need to go back and loosen up. Also, make sure to keep count. Many people have chosen not to count and got themselves in a big stitch defecate. If at any point you find a stitch to just not work for you feel free to substitute it out with a Sc, Hdc or Dc stitch depending on what stitch is used in the original pattern. For example, I wouldn't replace the Shell stitch with a Hdc or sc stitch. It used Dc stitches in the shell so use a plain Dc across the row.
      I hope this helps. Working blankets like this can be a completely new experience for people and present with it's own challenges. If you find that it's just a little too much that is perfectly ok! Know your abilities at the moment, keep practicing, and you can always come back to this project in the future. 😊❤️🧶

      Too far into it to go pull apart. I just completed May. I think the lighter color of yarn is making edges look crazy. IDK. I hope to clean this up with a border.

    Question about The written pattern for May . Is row 2 shown in the video actually row 1 in the written pattern ? Confusing to me :(

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад +1

      Hi Lynn! My apologies for the confusion. The idea for the Basketweave pattern is that for row 1, you will have a repeat pattern of 3 Front Post Dc and 3 Back Post Dc. Row 2, you will want to make the look of that stitch continue up one more row so that it is more pronounced and easy to see. But with Row 2, we have to turn out work. This is where is gets really confusing to type out the instructions and makes more sense with the visual aide.
      Basically, for row 2, you will want to look at the row below and repeat whatever stitch you see for row 2. This will help keep the look of the stitch from row 1, elongating those post stitches.
      For Row 3, we do our chains, and turn the work.
      For row 3 we want to reverse the pattern from what we see in the row below to give us that BASKETWEAVE look.
      Refer to the stitches you made in row 2 and do the opposite. If you see a Front Post Dc in row 2, you will make a Back Post Dc on top.
      If you see a Back Post Dc in row 2, you will make a Front Post on top.
      Unfortunately, if you are purely looking at the instructions and not working it out, it will look like you are doing the exact same stitches in row 2 and row 3. AND you are! But because you turned your work, everything is flip flopped.
      Again, this is not the easiest stitch to explain over text. If you would like more assistance with this please consider joining me over in my Crochet Club Membership on my website www.CrochetWithTiffany.com where we have weekly LIVE meetings and I can visually and verbally walk you through what to do and answer your questions immediately.

    My bad ... I now see the stitch count and we are back to 192 (March's count) and not 191 (April's stitch count) .... very confusing. Any help as to where we are to add back in a stitch?

    I’m not sure if this has happened to anyone else. At the end of row 1 where I’m joining the linen stitch, I ended up with three FPDC and one BPDC at the end. Tiffany…should this have happened or have I got something done wrong? I had 191 stitches with my linen stitch.

    • @karensooley4631
      @karensooley4631 Год назад +4

      Should it be 63 (3 stitches) of FPDC and BPDC for a total of 189 plus DC at beginning and end for a total of 191?

      I have the same problem. If you start and end the row with a DC, that leaves 190 sts for the basket weave st. 190 isn't divisible by 3, but 192 is. Please help. Thanks

      Hi Karen! And everyone else. Ok, Our goal is to have your blanket hit with 192 stitches per row. If your last stitch needs to NOT be a post stitch but instead you are able to end with a Dc stitch that's Great!
      What we want out of the pattern: slip stitch into the first stitch space to attach the yarn to the project.
      Chain 2, SKIP that first stitch space.
      Work 3 Front Post Dc's
      Work 3 Back Post Dc's
      Repeat 3 and 3 across row.
      For me, that last stitch was a Front Post Dc that I then had to also make a Dc stitch on top of to get me those 192 sts.
      Careful not to confuse the turn chain as a stitch to post around from that last Linen stitch row.
      IF anything, focus on the stitch count of the row NOT what LOOKS like a stitch space to work around.
      As long as you can get that stitch count to hit 192 in this row, that's all that matters.

      Hi Denise. Oh gosh, would you be willing to consider joining me over in the Crochet Club where you can share pictures of your work with me OR even join one of my Lives where I can see you and your work so that I can better help you with the project?
      It would make it so much easier for me to sort out your question. I even have a 10-Day free trial so you can come right in!
      This week's Wednesday meeting is a "Show & Tell" night so it will be quite busy with everyone sharing what they are working on. But I will have a meeting Saturday May 13th at 11am CST that you could attend and ask your question right there.
      I hope this will work for you.
      Otherwise, I would say try to rewatch what I am doing in the video and if you need to feel free to slow down the video by clicking on settings/ playback speed/ slowing it down.
      Best wishes!

    Sorry to say I’ve had a really difficult time with April’s linen stitch.I’ve ripped it out several times.I went up a hook size and tried to crochet loosely,but it still pulls the work from before in.Yours looks a lot better than mine🥲

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад +4

      I know what you mean. Despite the Linen stitch being an easy stitch, it is very easy to work this stitch tightly. I had to actively make a looser stitch myself to make sure everything laid flat and aligned. If the Linen stitch is causing too much trouble, feel free to substitute it out with a regular Single Crochet stitch so to keep the height of the stitches the same. 😊😊❤❤🧶🧶

      I went up a hook size for April. I am really hop when I start May this weekend that it starts balancing out. Or the end border Tiffany is planning straightens everything out. I am enjoying this blanket though.
