  • Looking for an easy crochet stitch that will make a beautiful blanket? This is my GO-TO stitch. It's one of the easiest stitches you can use that will work up a fast blanket and create a gorgeous textured look. Plus! It's repetitive so once you see the pattern working you don't even have to count anymore!!! Which also makes this a very relaxing project because you can just move and don't even have to think. I use this stitch for many different projects such as scarfs, purses, and, well, almost anything. Like I said, it's my Go-To. I hope you enjoy this stitch also! This stitch really shines when paired with a yarn that has multiple colors and you want the colors of the yarn to steal the show.

    after playing with this stitch, my son with sensory issues fell in love with the swatches. Took me a while, but I made him a queen size blanket in this stitch. We spent a fun day shopping for a yarn he liked. I just want to say thank you for this tutorial.

I have a learning disability, so I learn by re-watching all of my you tube gurus, y'all are so brave doing videos. I love being able to come on and learn at my own pace for free. I'm too OCD to glue 🤣 I totally worry about my work falling apart in the wash, so I leave decent length tails in sew them in nicely. Tails are my personal security blanket, pun intended lol.

      I always wash after I complete a project, (blanket) it’s amazing how much softer a blanket gets in the DRYER. A lot of the weight of yarn is the dye. Of course never do that with wool. Never saw anyone use glue before, it’s not a bad idea. Nice stitch, btw.

    Thank you ! I hadn't crocheted in a very long time. I just finished a little baby blanket using this tutorial. I used yarn that had multiple colors so I never had to switch colors and with this pattern I did not have to count. Great way to get back into it. Also loved the info on joining up the yarn from multiple skeins.. Great explanations.

    I'm new at all this - just finish a baby blanket and decided I'd store it away - all because I did crochet my ends "into" the blanket - but they all see to be coming up...so I am now going to try the fabric glue - it might actually save this project! thank you.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  4 года назад +1

      Hi Patricia! Oh my gosh this is the perfect situation where the fabric glue really shines. Make sure that when you get your fabric glue it says on the label that it dries Clear and Flexibly. Super important. Not all Fabric Glue does. I have attached product links in the description part of my videos if you want to check out what I use. You don't have to buy from the link but it gives you a visual of what you should be looking for. Good Luck with those ends! Oh I am so excited for you to finish this baby blanket and have it ready for baby! Let me know what you think of the Fabric Glue if you try it. 😊💖

    Thanks for sharing! I’ve crocheted for over 30 years and never thought to use fabric glue. I always use a needle to weave in my ends but you are correct that no matter how good you are those ends WILL pop out eventually. Just because your family/friends don’t tell you doesn’t mean they don’t pop out!
    I appreciate this tip and thanks again for sharing!👍🏻

      I’ve got a crocheted lap granny rug my mum made 80 years ago and it’s been used constantly and not a single end has come out. I think it depends on how you weave them in.

      I've crocheted over 40 years and used many different fabric glues. It does works but you need to be careful to make sure to use the smallest amount or it will to dry very hard and be noticeable in touch as well as sight.

    • @ashleyvincent1860
      @ashleyvincent1860 2 года назад

      @@Soffity Probably, also, what fiber the yarn is, will affect the outcome. I have bamboo yarn that I don't think I would trust to hold it's ends in, for example.

    • @Soffity
      @Soffity 2 года назад

      @@ashleyvincent1860 I’ve used bamboo 70% wool 30 % yarns but not 100% bamboo. The ends haven’t come out so far and it’s been 6 years. I hear you can get glue that stays soft when it sets so you don’t have hard lumps but I’ll stick to my crochet in as I go technique as it’s worked for me so far.l fingers crossed.

    Tip: Instead of having ends sticking out where you attach a new skein, I use an invisible join. It produces a very small knot with no ends and is virtually undetectable.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  4 года назад +3

      Hi Luna! Yes! I completely agree. I made this blanket tutorial before getting introduced to the invisible knot and now yes that is the way I would go. Thank you so much for the tip 😉❤️🧶
