If you guys are still having trouble, there’s no shame in finding another video/teacher who might be able to explain things in a way you understand. I’ve watched several videos now from several creators, and this creator explained how to start a new row in a way that I was struggling to understand from another creator. I appreciate her going so slowly. Thank you.

I found her old knitting basket and inside was a project that I had started with her over 20 years ago (a pot holder lol) that I abandoned because it was too hard for me. She saved my little scrap of messy yarn all these years 🥺❤️ I feel a longing in me to try it again in her honour and I have to say, this video was WONDERFUL! I’m not gonna say this was easy bc it definitely wasn’t! BUT I found it incredibly relaxing once I got to my fourth row and I actually SPED up (not like extreme speed racer 😂) but I definitely sped up more than how I was in the beginning. I think what made it “easier” for me was the fact that I grew up as a rainbow loom child!! It definitely brought back those memories 🥺 The thing I found the hardest was the extra string, when you first start off after doing the loop, is the hardest because you need resistance and something to hold that. But I made it to my fourth row and my FIRST EVER crochet, that will now be a keychain!!! Thank you so much for teaching me, I will continue to do this everyday for a week and then move on to slightly bigger projects, hopefully a granny square! My biggest goal and want out of crocheting is to be able to make my baby’s first baby blanket when he/she arrives and to do that throughout my pregnancy to grow a much stronger bond!
PS: You guys who are struggling YOU GOT THIS!! Don’t give up, just breathe through it! If my hormonal pregnant self can get through it without rage quitting 😂 I’m sure you can too!!
Edited to say that it DEFINITELY did NOT turn out pretty like hers, but hey, it’s something 🤷🏼‍♀️

Honestly I wasn’t a complete expert in crochet, but I knew how to chain before this video. So this was an incredibly big help for me! If your struggling then I’ll explain what you’ll have to do!
1.Learn how to chain in a different video.(if you have a friend who crochets then I would reccomend asking them for help)
2.figure out what hand position works best for you. ( it doesn’t have to be a popular hold.) Like I hold my yarn completely different then any of the videos I’ve watched)
    3. Now you watch this video and learn a single stich! If you have a friend who crochets, then ask them for help! ( having a imperson teacher is much more helpful!)
    PLEASE KEEP TRYING TO CROCHET!!!!
    I’ll give you my updates
Week 1:I learned how to chain and I like two different hand positions.
Week 2: I’m struggling with how to chain neatly but I’m able to move my my hand in a comfortable position!!
Week 3: IM working on single stitch. My friend is also helping me!❤❤❤
Week 4: I CAN SINGLE CROCHET!
    Week 5: COMING SOON

For people who are really stuck, I recommend first trying a bit of finger crocheting (All it is when you create the first loop to start your project, instead of putting your hook in there, instead use your fingers to grab on to the next piece of yarn). It's much easier and it will help you get the hang of crocheting with a hook.

Hands down best video to learn. Thank you so much for posting. I’ve been watching other videos all week and couldn’t make a single chain lol I just made so many watching this, so easily. there is a crucial step you verbally explain that other videos do not- when you are going to yarn over, you have to flip the hook down before you pull it through, which I was skipping completely, so it just kept twisting and not making the connection. So I finally did it. Onto the next step. Thank you!

Finally, I am able to do it. I have to use the terms you are using on here. Then, I gradually use the terms for crocheting. Thank you, so much.

Omg I got this little beginner kit that had an instruction book that didn't really explain anything and I got so frustrated! I'm so glad I decided to search up a crochet 101 video. This was so much more clear. Thank you!

Thank you! I just picked up a hook and yarn yesterday and I couldn’t find any one doing tutorials slow enough for me until this one!

Wow! This amazing! I tried crocheting back in 2014 and I thought it wasn’t for me. I was so frustrated. Now 5 years later, I’m glad I found your helpful video to guide me through the beginning of a new hobby. Thanks!
