  • Welcome to Dano Does Things, a place to learn, have fun, and do something creative every week! This week, as promised in a video a few weeks ago, I'm going to teach you how I finish off embroidery hoops so you can display your favourite finished pieces! I've seen this style done in pictures a few times, and I thought it would be helpful to provide a video walk through. Hopefully you find it helpful!
This pattern is by an amazing Canadian brand called Hook Line Tinker (hooklinetinker.com/). You can get it as a PDF pattern, or a complete kit which is super helpful. The one I used specifically is called Nevermore (hooklinetinker.com/collection....
(This video is not sponsored, I bought the kit myself, I just love it a lot and love to support fellow Canadians!)

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this tutorial and explaining it so well. I watched so many videos that sort of speed through and don’t explain it and I couldn’t quite understand how to do this. Thank you also for being real and showing the little struggles. It helps to know it’s not just me and learn how others work through them as well.

I’m so glad it was helpful! There’s always struggles but we learn from them and learn to troubleshoot! Thank you for watching.

To anyone watching this, make sure you trace the inner hoop on the felt from the outside of the hoop, not the inside! I kept tracing on the inside of the hoop and the felt circle was too small to cover the back.

Great point! And it’s always better to cut it a little bigger to start and trim down if you have to! 😋

Great tutorial! One thing you can also do at the end instead of snipping the thread off at the knot (possibly leaving a little tail that shows), just push the needle downward along the edge and down into the felt, then coming out of the felt, and snip it off super close/flush with the felt. The thread then just gets sucked up and disappears into the center! :)

Hi, how can I replace the hoop screw for anything else for display? I really don't like the look of it. I'm scared that if I replace it, the hoop will unloose, and the fabric might fall off. Thank you.
