Every time my cat scratches, I'm worried she has fleas! I treat her every month - last time I got a product that said it lasted 3 months. I thought "great!" But after reading the back, it said it treated larva and eggs but not adult fleas! I've never seen anything on her but I think I'll get something that treats adult fleas also - I'm hoping it's ok to use it before the 3 months is over🤷🏻♀️
My cat's not gonna let me hold her like that, Lol. She gets whiny when she's held too long against her will, then she'll struggle and if I hold her long enough, she'll get real mad.
Another video shows long, narrow insects that they claim are fleas. I would think that they would be lice. Can fleas be elongated and narrow also ? Aarre Peltomaa
my cat has a lot of dandruff at the moment and my vet always tells me she has fleas or has signs of fleas year after year - ive done the wet paper towel and flea brush treatment and i squashed the little black specs, they look almost yellowy brown. should i take her in to get checked out or is it a bad idea to make an appointment just to get advice on if she has fleas or not?
If you ask a vet they’ll say get the advice because they want to charge your for a consultation, it’s all about money to them, if you want my advice just get some flea stuff, could be worse ✌️
@@naosch94 a year updated i guess haha i actually asked them about it at our annual check up appointment and my cat just has feline acney. i have monthly spot on treatments for them and theyve never had fleas 😅 you know when you get things in your head that it could be something and its not? classic case of that! pretty sure the little brown blobs were just pieces of dirt from going outside
the acney and dandruff has been almost completly cleared with just add on suppliments and salmon oil and her coat is lush now😊 im glad i asked the vet for advice in the end
Vacuum the couch everywhere & immediately empty vacuum bag & place it outside then spray couch w flea spray until lightly saturated on the whole thing., wait until dry & repeat all steps. Hope this helps

Just found this whilst looking how to treat my cat and the last part of your comment made me laugh (currently got half a treat spiked with medicine in the fridge due to a similar incident of cat doing a runner). Hope you managed OK in the end.
@@superliljohn91 nope, I gave up for now. Going to try again with a friend putting treatment on whilst I have her stationary on ground she is a gentle cat so that won't be a problem. She has very powerful hind legs so leaps away from you but then so do all cats or they won't be able to bound from ground level to top of a fence , with such easy grace. Ok. Fleas are super bad this year. My cats have a preventative on, but I have found 3 fleas on ME. But not my cats. I have a flea comb and nothing. No presence of flea dirt. There is a stray cats around my house and when I walk outside, I will see fleas jump on me. I figure I am bringing them in with me while I walk to my chicken coop and back. I will be thoroughly cleaning my house the next couple days. My question is, even though my cats have a preventative, can/will they still get fleas? I have been checking them everyday for 5 days and haven't found a single one, nor have they shown signs.
some will kill any flea that is on them at the time but they doesn't persist for very long at all so if there is an infestation (and adults only make up about 5% of the flea population so this is likely) then you are not going to be able to get on top of it very easily at all using shampoos alone

She is not an outdoor cat but did let her out go out for fresh air and I guess strays that come on my porch has fleas and that’s how she got them! she’s not infested but want to get rid of them and gave her Capstar but that didn’t work! Any suggestions? Please and thank you
İ dont have cats but they live in front of olur house and we go lovey dovey and FRED them what if they hade fleas and now we have them to god i have an obsession with cleaning i am dead now thinking about this for hours and washing my cloths

What product do you use each month to prevent fleas?
Effectiveness may vary by region but if fleas is all I'm wanting to treat/prevent then I use Advantage which is imidacloprid based.
Flea dirt returns red like blood when you wet it. Because that is their diet. Never mind spoke to soon

the fleas will be killed as soon as they feed on your cats so they will not leave any sign unless you happen to find a dead flea
