If you aren't using pine litter or wood pellets, you're wasting your money, your time, your effort, and you're contributing to strip mining. Yes, for real! - Хобби
A year ago I watched it and was sceptical, but you CHANGED MY LIFE. Wood litter + a sifting box = best thing that happened to my cat-care routine. THANK YOU!
My cat was very picky, but I transitioned her very slowly, putting more wood into the clay litter. Then I placed a second box with wood pellets only next to her old one and started cleaning the old one less often, so it got kinda stinky. One day, she just went to the new box on her own. Now I have no idea how I used to tolerate clay and all the dirt that comes with it.
Thanks for coming back to share.
If I could change one thing in this video it would be to mention transitioning cats like you did.
My cats were new to me so I didn’t even consider. You did it exactly right!
Yes!! That was a big omission and should be updated!! This is crucial..I went through hell after trying this change. Disaster.
Yes, I never texted cat litter or anything that has to do a cats and today it is randomly was there on the list.
Umm i spend 60 $ a month for the stuff to sent to house. I have 3 cats inside.
I use pine pellets in my barn for barn cats. Can't believe I never thought to try it in my house. Thanks for sharing this.
5 bucks a 40 pound bag at farm store instead of
20 per cat per month.
Correction... It is only about 1 bag of pine pellets per each cat I have here in the house .
So for 4 bags a year and a bit of sifting saves hundreds per year.

When you said $20 a year for cat litter I have to put my phone down and take a walk outside to rethink the choices I made in life

I've been using it for well over 4 years now. It is wonderful. Smells great, they love it....I will take your expert and raise you 60. That's how many I care for daily. Yep 6.59 for 40# at tractor supply stores. Pine and small animal bedding here in Michigan. I've been spreading the word as well. Thanks for helping others save their, backs, hands, homes and pocket books. Might want to mention it also all natural, may use it in the garden minus the feces. And if you store it after use in cat food kibble bags for a winter and spring season closed outdoors. It turns into the most beautiful bronze color great for adding to your soil, with all signs of feces broken down and invisible.
Intelligent, concise, resourceful, and extremely educational. We have four furry friends who scratch out clay litter like it was confetti! This system sounds much more pleasing. Thank you.🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛.
Hi, I'm just a dude who worked in pet stores for about a year. I agree with everything in this video, but I feel like there are two points she didn't touch on, so I wanna drop some helpful tips.
1) if your cat is used to clay litter, make sure to transition between by having clay on the bottom and covering it with pellets. This makes it easier for the cat to get used to the pellets and realize "oh wait, I'm supposed to shit on these"
2) Some cats will outright refuse to use wood pellets, so make sure to get a small/cheap bag first so you aren't wasting mass amounts of money on something your cat won't use.
Thanks for this information, she should recommend this as I try it and my cat did NOT like it....she was actually confused...lol so not for all cats...
Another good transition strategy is to slowly add small amounts of pellets to a full clay litterbox after daily cleanings (If your cat is super sensitive to change add no more than 1/4th of a cup of wood pellets a day after clump removal) until it's all pellets. And you can do it as slowly or as quickly as your cat may be cool with.
@@jigglyanderson6105 agreed! I probably should have put this in my original comment, but thanks for dropping a lil extra knowledge for those sensitive kitties.
@@faffledude of course! I just want to give as much information as possible so as many kitties as possible can use a better litter.

@@kaylekat8601 Hi Kayle, Have you tried an antihistamine? Every once in a while I will get some itchy patch of skin, and if I knock back one little antihistamine tablet, the itchiness clears up in minutes. Some people take them for itchy eyes. But, yeah, if you only have one or two important Quality Times a day where you pick them up and play and brush them out and stuff, and just washing your face and hands afterwards is enough to clear up the symptoms, then you can save the money. But it is never a bad idea to have a bottle of antihistamines in your medicine chest, because they could save your life if you ever get a severe reaction to something you never knew you were allergic too... like people dropping dead from eating caviar for the first time when they are 43 years old or something. Yeah, when you feel your throat swelling up, you only got a few minutes to act. You got to know NOW that those pills are in the Medicine Cabinet. Take them before calling the ambulance.

Thank you! Then to clean it you have to throw away a lot of unused pellets along with the sawdust. Never even considered sifting it! Going to go drill some holes right now
I tried Pine. It was great, but my cat has asthma and the pine ended him up in the ER. Just posting this for those who may have a cat with asthma and not realize it. Pine* isn’t the best for cats with asthma neither is the wood dust unfortunately. *Edited to remove the oil reference after Pine. It was a chemical compound inherent in pine that my cat was allergic to. This chemical can’t be washed away as it’s part of the natural make up of pine. It wouldn’t have mattered how the wood was processed. I did my homework and thought I was using the safest brand, kiln dryer, no added scent, perfumes, or chemicals. Labeled non-toxic and hypoallergenic. Sometimes we can do all the research we want, but like with asthmatic humans the allergy determines the reaction.* Thanks for the likes and comments. ✌🏾♥️💯 Edit: Thanks for the likes. I still get replies occasionally so wanted to add that I do use a clay litter made by Dr. Elsey. It’s called respiratory relief. It’s low dust, fragrance free, and hypoallergenic. Other options if you want to avoid clay are Paper, Crystal or wheat or corn based litter. I have tried all of those, but food based litters attract weevils, and in the south they’re prevalent so I can’t use corn or wheat litter. Paper based litter wasn’t absorbent enough and Crystal litter doesn’t clump and can be messy. I use the Litter Robot which requires a clay litter. Dr Elseys has never caused an asthma attack in my cat. I also avoid wearing, spraying or diffusing any fragrances, essential oils, or perfumes in my home as they can cause an asthmatic reaction. I also use an air purifier. My cat has an occasional very minor asthma reaction during season change as a reaction to outside allergens. If your cats asthma is severe, then you can get an inhaler, use antihistamines or steroids. I had another cat that passed that had severe asthma and required daily meds. I’m happy to answer questions about treatments if you tag me. Avoiding the things above works for my current cat who doesn’t have asthma as severe as my other cat. Hope this helps. ♥️
The pellets for pellet burning stoves come in hard wood and soft wood where I am. Same price and the 'hardness' of the pellets is the same, so you might look into hard wood pellets. The wood type only matters if you were actually burning them.
Tran Shar Burning? This video is about cat litter. I bought the Pine Wood cat litter. My cat has asthma and I ended up taking him to the emergency room. He’s highly allergic to pine. I did research after that incident and found that many cats with breathing or allergy problems generally can’t tolerate it. I posted my comment as a warning so people would be aware of it. Dogs and cats have asthma and allergies just as much as humans do. We can’t just switch up the litter without testing it out. They also don’t complain when they dint feel well. I understood the warning signs but unfortunately I didn’t know that cats can be highly allergic to pine. The packaging doesn’t include that warning so I didn’t realize it was his litter causing the problems. His inhaler would only work a short while so I knew it was serious. He ended up having a major asthma attack and required oxygen and a breathing treatment.
@@jaeshasway Thank you for bringing this awareness!!!! I'm not aware that any of my 5 babies have asthma or allergies, but I will certainly watch them close if I decide to switch!
I had the same issue. Its pine, it doesn’t matter if you are not burning it!
@@jaeshasway you are totally right in what you say. You are thinking about tour cats health...not everyone in here is. Asthma in cats is awful to witness and treat. My cat was 20 when she passed. The last 3 years I had her, she did not like litter. Not clay, clump or pine. I tried all kinds of things but she would not use the box and would leave puddles on the floor next to it. I started using the paper towels we dried our hands with, just putting them in the box instead of throwing them away, and she loved it. I have been told that elderly cats sometimes go off litter, so maybe this can help someone else with an elderly cat.
@Ocracoke2001 I used those too for awhile, but it was getting to a point where she seemed to want the depth. They also had only the scent of our hands on them. She was quite old, and from what I've experience with her, as well us us humans, old ladies are particular about their habits.
Oh, thanks for posting this. Our old lady cat no longer wants to go in the litter box and it's driving us crazy. She picked a new spot in the basement and just always goes there now. ?!?! Vet has no solution to this and so we've just been dealing with this constantly in our basement. I'll try this and see if she will use them.
@@somerandomyoutubechannel5816 I hope it works for you. I did not flatten them out, just dropped them into the litter box all crumpled. It also made it so easy to clean up, just grab a plastic bag and scoop them up.
Our cat was a little the bit like yours at one time. She would pee outside the box either because [ I thought] she was stressed due to renovators in our house or because of her diabetes. I finally had a theory that maybe she had a UTI and it hurt her to step over the edge of the litter box. So I took her to our Vet and had her tested for a UTI. She came back positive! So she was on antibiotics for 7-10 days. After it was cleared up she had not problem using the litter box again. I just had to get one with higher sides because I later found out that her aim was a little high and though most of her urine stayed within the litter box some of it would hit the top edge of the box and splatter out of the box. Now no problems!
@@tigergold999 i'm glad you figured it out. A UTI can be quite painful for a cat. At the time she went off the litter, my old lady was 17. She survived renal failure when she was 8 years old, so it was something we always kept an eye on throughout her years. Her chow was from the vet, special for cats with renal issues, and for wet food, home made. Pets have different needs, just like people. So every single one of the pets I've had over the years have had different dietary needs. I also had a diabetic dog that survived til he was 13 (large dog) and never went blind, as is common for diabetic dogs. I attribute all their long lives and health to home cooked food. If people really understood what's in the store bought stuff, they'd stop feeding it to their pets.
I have been using pine litter for years, but have just found the fire pine and I’m saving a fortune. Thank you for the tip about 2 boxes, I havn’t seen those, but having 6 cats will have to be inventive and make my own. Thank you very much.
I did this and it made my life exponentially better! I also wanted to switch to a stainless steel litter box but I couldn’t find a stainless steel sifting box ANYWHERE. So I bought 2 restaurant steamer pans, 1 at 6” depth and 1 at 4” and voila! A SS sifting litter box.

Thanks for sharing that. My cats are SO picky about everything and I rent my home and can’t chance cat piss all over the old wood floor and carpets. It never goes away once it’s soaked in there.
Try transitioning them really slowly. Add a scoop at a time, sometimes it can take months. I still use the walnut litter, its dusty too and I want to move to all pellets. But it’s been two months and we are still working on it. On the bright side my litterboxes have ZERO odour now. Unless someone does a really smelly poop.

Thank you so much Becky for this educational video on how to manage cat poo and pee effectively and economically. You are the Winner of the Cat Owner Educator Award!!! I adopted a one-year old cat 2 months ago. He is adorable, however, the clay-clumping-litter I was advised to use, stunk up the entire house although I scooped and disposed of it regularly. Four days ago, I searched RUclips for ways to kill the stench and watched your video. The following day, in a heavy rain storm, I drove 60 minutes and bought the horse bedding pellets you recommended (It's gone up 50% to $7.25 for 40 lbs). Wasn't sure if KEI (like Kite) would use it. To my joy and surprise, he used it without hesitation and seems to prefer it to the clay stuff. I did have a sifter container with holes but did not know how to use it. Thanks to you, I've started using it and everybody is happy. We like the wood pellet scent! Love and gratitude from me, Kei and our guests!
This is so much better. The hassle of scooping clay made us clean it way less than we should have. Now with the sifter it's way easier to just do a quick tidy. The lack of sand everywhere alone is a massive improvement.

YOU need a cat lol
I just got a cat. And I sure as hell am grateful for this, lol
When you have 3 litterpans, it's a lift-to-sift system, meant for standard clumping litter. It can be used for wood pellets, however the space between 2 litterpans is very shallow, meaning it can't contain much urine before it touches the upper litterpan, thereby wetting the woodpellets from underneath. The one you made is a Peewee system, exclusively for pellets and better because as you said it has more space in between. When you want to enlarge the space of the lift-to-sift, just put 4 rubber caps under the upper litterpan with a small bolt and keel or silicone kit. This way it stands higher with more space. (That's what I did). I also prefer wood pellets. It's better for a cat's airways, especially when they are astmatic and I love the wood smell.
Good luck with your back
When you said you loved the wood smell. I had a bit of a giggle with the image that popped into my head of a random person up close and face in litter tray smelling the pellets haha ...sorry if that offended I have a weird sense of humour lol
@@finni6580 Yes you do 😁. Sorry to mess up the image, but I only sniff it fresh from the package bag. Once in the litterbox, it's theirs.💩
I followed your advice a year ago, our 3 cats were reluctant at first so I introduced wood chips little by little over their clay adding it more every day over a couple of weeks so that they get use to the texture and smell (that was an annoying part). Then I fully switched to wood chips and it works like a charm. Easier, cleaner, cheaper and more environnemental. Thanks Becky ! :)

I appreciate the time and energy in creating this video. I have used clay litter for 40 years and have become an expert at cleaning it quickly and easily without dust in my face and a special rug underneath so my cat does not track litter all over the house. Thank you!
On today's episode of "WHY IS THIS IN MY RECOMMENDATION???" we learn how to clean cat's litter like a pro
Literally, have not now, nor ever, owned a cat.
I wasn't looking for this but I'm glad! We have an indoor cat and her litter box reeks up the bathroom even with what feels like frequent changes, because it's a small room in a hot house
It's weird for people like Ash, but like Jaunette, I don't know why they recommended it as this is my games video channel, but I'm glad they did!
When RUclips randomly recommends video that is actually an issue that you need real life advice on.
Connie Dalrymple Creepy! Happens to me all the time!
They are listening to us! Lol I honestly feel my Google pixel will show me ads for stuff I talk to my boyfriend about!!
Creepy...isn't it??
Don't. I tried it and it is dusty and the pine tree does not cover the poop smell. You whole house will smell like cat poop.
Same! Like how did she know
You are the best. Honestly the best video I've watched about cat litters. Thank you so much!
you changed my litter system about 3 years ago now from this video and i just recommended this again after so long lol. i still use pine pellets, thank you for the information!!!!
You had me at “smell like a wood shop” No joke that smell is so calming to me. Thank you
you just have to use the right brand because the brand we use at my work for the longhair hamsters (it's cat litter idk don't ask) smells so weird
IKR😁
I got pine pellets from tractor supply, no weird smell, and it is at least a hundred times better than clay litter. I’m still working on my big cats switching but my kittens made the change super quick. The only thing I do different than her is every time I scoop poop into the litter trash can, I sift the main litter and put the sawdust over the poo in the trash & it contains any icky smells.
Ah yes, 9th grade wood shop. I loved that class. Only one other girl in it besides me. 😊
Please dont! pine is toxic for cats, notes Petcha, because they may cause liver damage and can be fatal. Shame on this lady, this video will likely lead to the deaths of thousands of cats.
Me: I can’t sleep
You tube: watch this video about cat litter
Me: ok
Sleep well now then.
Samee
Watch a pornhub sweety
Lol right just got me.
LOL
I am watching this 5 years later and just want to say thank you. The suggestion to change to pine litter really helps.
I've been using grass seed litter since my kittens are used to the consistency of clay. It's also readily available at my local grocer and a way lot healthier for both my cats and the environment.
Damn. You just made me drive almost 30 km just to get these wood pellets from hardware store for absolute bargain price.
You got a subscriber.
How'd the first day go?
Yea. I want to know too.
I have been using the wood pellets for a year... It's amazing... No odor what so ever. I'm terrible at changing the litter and change it maybe 1-2 times a week.. I have 3 cats and 2 wood pellet boxes and 2 regular boxes. I have one cat that refuses to use them. It's the best decision I've made. I hated the smell of the clumping boxes. The pellets last 4 ever and super cheap!
We have used pellets since we got cats lmao
I just realised my comment caught far more attention than expected. We have two cats. First is 4 years old female which is troublesome when toilet is in question, and decided that pellets are inappropriate, and pissing around the house is more appropriate option. Second cat is 5 months old male, and while he complained initially, he doesn't seem to mind pellets all that much.
As workaround for first cat, we put layer of standard cat litter over the pellets and that works so far. Plan is to reduce amount of litter with every change. Unfortunately, I cannot say about the smell as litter obviously smells.
Naturally, I'm finding that I do everything wrong.
If you are using something else then you are doing everything right! This pine stuff is toxic!
@@itsmeowornever.8143 Why?
@@crazytrvlr The pine oils build up in the cat's liver. Tiny particles get licked off the fur when they groom clean. Over time the liver will not function properly. That is a big problem. People think the oil is safe if the pellets are kiln dried at a very high heat. But the solids are still there. Why would anyone take a chance using it is just irresponsible.
@@itsmeowornever.8143 But clay litter is more toxic than this right?
@@somethingspecial4848 I would think the pine is because the particles will build up in the liver. The clay minerals will get out with enough water drinking. Everone should get a fountain drinking bowl for their cat. I was using 'lay crumble' (chicken food) which is very low dust and if the cat consumes some then it is just carbohydrates. However, t is no longer available near me. I have been using a corn derived litter called World's Best which is a bit costly if you use a lot. 🤷♀️ The cats deserve something good though.
I am so so excited about this! I love the way wood chips smell; it reminds me of my Nan and Pops house back in Newfoundland when I was a kid. I am doing this. Thank you for making this video!!!
I call my grandma and grandpa Nan a pop
🤯🤯🤯 Out of all the millions of videos on RUclips, this is hands down the best and most helpful video I’ve EVERRRR come across, so with that being said ♾️ THANK YOU!!!!!!
You've just given me the best argument I've ever had to convince my wife to let me have a cat. THANK YOU
Just a small tip: if you try to buy wood pellets for burning you should read the ingredients list carefully. If it is only wood or mix of different types of woods - that is ok. But some of them (at least in my country) has some oils, resins and petroleum by-products. And that are not animal-friendly stuff. I used pellets for my hamsters as a kid and now I'm planning to "adopt" my grandfathers cat from the farm and "upgrade" her to the indoor cat. I hope she will like pellets too!
Thanks for pointing this out about the toxic resins, etc., that are in some bagged wood pellets. Super important for cat parents to be aware of. I heard about using wood pellets awhile back, went looking, and decided not to buy after reading the ingredients. Seems challenging to find plain wood pellets at a decent price.
Used to buy the Feline Pine for my cat. It's great stuff and I recommend using it. After my sweetpea passed in '21, I was catless until early this year, when I adopted another kitty. I wanted to use the FPine for her, but its gotten more expensive now so Im searching again for non-tox wood pellets. Do u use a certain brand? Thank you.
She hasn’t produced this video well and added this information. Sharing this information without disclosing this is putting the lives of cats at risk and her at legal issues.
You might want to still give your cat the opportunity to go outside or else it can get depressed from feeling imprisoned.
And the dust is badddd
@@NPC_037 I’m sure if they’re putting this much thought into their cat’s livelihood and litter… they’re going to make sure it’s happy and properly exercised. Be it on a leash, in a catio, or in their home. Plenty of safe ways to keep cats entertained! :)
The only thing I regret after watching this video is that I didn't watch it 4 years ago. Becky, you get my vote for RUclips's best and coolest video.
Thank you so much! I'm a new cat parent. I have had dogs all my life. I love the way pine smells
I love you.
Not only was this video filmed without background noises or interruptions, but you were also quick and concise in your explanation.
Once again, I love you!
Yes! this too! I often watch things on 1.5xs speed because people tell too many stories. This is very concise.
Yes - I love a RUclipsr who gets straight to the point, includes everything you need to know and respects the viewer’s time.
Yes, I agree. Well done video! 👍🏻
Absolutely agree
Thank you very much for the info
coming back to this video 2 years later to tell you this video changed my life. we have 5 cats in our house and 6 litter boxes. the money saved on switching to this method is truly amazing. thank you
what litter boxes do you use?
Thanks!
YES! Gucci!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, TELL US WHAT LITTER BOXES YOU USE AND WHERE YOU BOUGHT THEM!! HUGE THANKS!
Yo tell use what litter boxes u used or link em !!
Your intro said you're here to persuade me. I've been persuaded. 10/10 will watch again
Wonderful information. ThanQ so much! Couldn't find plain pine wood pellets until I finally found Horse bedding pellets. $7.29 for 40 lbs. I had been using alfalfa pellets for the past 17 years but it tripled in price and besides, attracted bugs. Ugh! This video has been a Blessing!
Clay litter is TRASHHHHH. The cat gods have slipped this video into everybody's recommended I see.
Stg hahahha
C00kii0 yasss!!
YES!!!! i literally was just saying it feels like i’m buying litter every other week
We much prefer cobalt free silica, but I may just look into the pellets.
I am so thankful that I found this video .. one of my cats is an asshole and loves to dig all the damn litter out of the box. If I switch to this then it'll be way easier to clean at least..
My cats go outside. Wanted to share that I had a cat that would cover her poo then leave a little stick standing up like a flag pole on a hill. Every time, so I knew it couldn't be by accident. Nice video.
Nancy Fahey omg 😂
I use wood pellets for years already, it really is a cool thing.
Thank you for the litterbox advice, I'll try it eventually.
I’ve seen several of these videos explaining the pellets vs clay litter , and I enjoy watching yours the best- so I went out and bought pellets and hopefully my cats adapt, thank you so very much… 👍
More tips about being a cat parent please.
Side note : I could listen to your voice all day.
miat789 first tip. Stop listening to people who listen to Jackson Galaxy.
peri dot not everything, no. But Richard Kirchner is just an agent of the 161 billion dollar animal industry. He is biased, has no general understanding of cats, is just a "character" developed by Animal Planet, and isn't an actual animal advocate. Cats AREN'T from hell, naming his "product" Bully is typical of his lack of Feline understanding. He promotes Pitbulls that kill dogs AND CATS by the thousands. (Not to mention livestock and humans) He promotes the unethical, inhumane and ineffective practice of TNR. No, he gets a few things right, but this is completely worthy of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
@@TheJester39 STFU, Cletus.
William Chiafos what you said about pitbulls is obviously not true, but the rest he does is bullshit.
Do not take tips from her. Literally just told you to poison your cat. Pine is toxic for cats, notes Petcha, because they may cause liver damage and can be fatal. Shame on this lady, this video will likely lead to the painful death of thousands of cats.
I just brought home a stray cat and I'm obsessed with being a good cat mommy
I found a stray that i want to adopt so im looking for easy things to make for him bc I'm hell a broke hahahaha but I found this lol glad I did
I have 2 strays. My girl cat hates that she now has a brother. But both are very spoiled!! Enjoy!! 💞
@Lost To Adventure good for u!!! GOD bless!!!
I just got a cat today and I am surfing RUclips videos to make sure I learn everything on how to make sure she has the best life I can and want to give her! Obsessed lol
I have one stray cat too! My friend found her on the street and asked us if we want to take her home(i said Yes) It's been four months since we've had her and she's very playful. I don't like cats but when I saw her I knew we had to do something.😊💕
Thanks for sharing this! I was getting my litter from Trader Joe's and thought it up myself when I saw the flavored pellets at Home Depot, which were like ,$20 for a 40# bag. Then I saw the pine pellets at Tractor supply for like $6 for 40#! What a steal. And everything you say is true! Fish out the poops, and that's it. I don't even sift it. I just scoop out the really wet stuff and let it go. About every 3_4 Days I dump the whole thing for fresh pellets. My husband takes the dirty litter to fill in squirrel holes along the driveway!
Amazing piece of info. I will be implementing it soon! Thank you so much.
I'm watching this and I don't even have cats
alby utami lol
alby utami lmao
See? This is the unwritten m.o. of cats.
alby utami me too🤣🤣🤣

sooooo basically i gotta go adopt a cat now, thank you!!
Hahaha brilliant comment
ME TOO!!!
You'll be happy if you do, desexed cats are extremely intelligent and beautiful affectionate fur babies
I’m getting two kittens in abt two months I’m so excited
ME TOO!!! 🙂🙂😊😊
This video changed our lives. We saw this months ago and it’s certainly been better. Everything about pine litter is better. Everything !
love this❤
you really created a wonderful presentaion. You did the research, created and tested a sifting pan, searched for a more economical product and used valid points as a motivation for people to switch from clay litter. and FOR FREE. most people try to monetize and capitalize. This was made because you have a beautiful heart and that is where true wealth comes from.
It's very plain to see how much you love your fur babies. I'm so glad you found each other.
great job🎉😊
If you're very sensitive to smell and do find that the saw dust smells (imo it doesn't stink but it does have a distinct smell) just sprinkle some baking soda in the outer pan. It absorbs smell and it doesn't harm anyone
Me watching this after I spent like $30 on litter 👁👄👁
Same🥺
If you are considered switching to pellets, you will want at least a pan-full of the litter your cat is already familiar with, so you can switch slowly. It's not a waste!
Great. Im sixty years old lady. And had seven cats. And minded many. Something that actually seems better than what I have been doing. Thank you
This is crazy because I literally just got done changing my cats literally! It was the second time this week already and it’s only Tuesday! Thank you for the advice and educating me on this .I got to tractor place once a month to get goat feed ,chicken feed ,dog food ,cat food and the dreaded clay liter!my next trip ..it’s pine chips! Thank you👍🫶
I would have led with the $20 a year on cat litter. Once I heard that I was sold 😅
Pine oil is potentially toxic if you want 0% risk, use the feline pine.
@@mysmirandam.6618 what's the difference between both? Please explain
@@jamesm.3520 there's a process the feline pine is put through to remove the potentiallly toxic oils.

i love the way she talks and explains. + nice info 👍👍👍
😆 right
Don't forget, poops 💩 😹
Thank You, now I have find out where to purchase the pine pellets in my small town.😊
Thank you! I'm using it for 1 year now and I'm happy with it. It's never stinky
I tried switching to wood pellets and my cat urinated beside the litter box while starring directly in my eyes. 😡 ‘you gonna’ learn today human ‘ I’m handing out life lessons.
Katoria H lol damn
I had the same problem. Cats can be very finicky creatures who don’t like change. Try gradually introducing the wood pellets to your cat. Add a half cup of wood pellets to their clay litter, and gradually increase the amount of pellets in their normal litter over a few weeks until you’re using only pellets. If you push to fast and your cat starts peeing outside the litter box, reduce the pellets again and gradually increase the amount of pellets slower.
Also another good option is to have 2 litter boxes. One clay and one wood pellets. My cat will pee in the wood pellets but refuses to poop in it. I’m verryyyy slowly eliminating the clay litter
Rachel Rose thanks for the tips!
janell19 ikr and I adopted her from the SPCA you’d think she be more flexible with her litter since I ...saved her LIFE 🤦🏾♀️nope lol
It can take a while to transition. I had both litter boxes side by side then when they started using the new one more often I stopped cleaning the old clay one. It makes the new one more appealing. Took a couple weeks but what a difference!
"Why don't we all use pine litter? I don't know."
Because some of us have princess cats who will pee NEXT to the box, until we return their 'spensive clay litter 😑
Yeap
Same... OR OR when I change it to FRESH litter....
same same same sameeeee
This is a valid point. I'm trepidatious about trying it, but if I can find it at a lumber yard, I can experiment. I had this problem before when changing the litter. I wonder if starting off adding a cup or two at first and gradually increasing the pine and reducing the clay would work. I'll let you know!
Or you could transition princess shitt ... I mean kitt... with her expensive habit by mixing in the clay with the pellets for a week or two, gradually using less clay each time.
I’ll give this a try. Thank you for the tips!
