My dog started having seizures and foaming at the mouth, I thought I was going to have to put her down😢 as I was crying and loving on her I took a flea collar off of her and pretty much instantly she was back to normal!❤
When the dogs come in from going on Hikes get a pet roller a hair pet roller and roll their coat with that and you'll be amazed at how many bugs and ticks you just pull off the top of their fur after they've been out in the wild it's amazing
Our vet said it is safe for our half-persian to get Frontline flea application as well as a flea/tick tablet at the same time it wont have side-effects. A few years later our beautiful cat started getting seizures and died of kidney/heart failure. It was a slow and agonizing death I have lost any trust in doctors and vets because of that. I love that Dr. Katie cares enough to provide natural alternatives - she is a REAL vet.
@@judithlinfor1120 Exactly, I have a regular vet only because I need one for my pet insurance but I don't give my what he suggested. I adopted a pure dog near 2yrs old and she never seen a vet! No vax nothing, her first vet visit was for a checkup and stool test to be sure she's fine. He wanted me to buy the Revolution and that shit killed 2 of my doxies, AIHA both of them from it!! I had 5 doxies 3 passed of vax and or these meds. I swore never to give my new rescue anything that's a drug unless it's a life and death situation and she needs it but this stuff for fleas and ticks, no! I tell the regular vet that I already stocked up for a few years of meds when I was in MX (cheaper), but it's not true, I m not giving her anything.
I stopped going to my conventional vet because they insisted on these toxic flea treatments! My cat started having seizures at 2 years old. We go to a holistic vet now..give CBD for seizures…she is so much better! Thankful for our holistic vets who are in the business to help..not just to push the money making meds and treatments.😻
My tiny dog had a terrible reaction to the Lyme vaccine. She started vomiting foam for 2 hours straight. My vet wouldn't acknowledge it was a reaction because it happened 2 days later. She wanted to give my dog the Lepto shot that same day, but I told her I would prefer to split them up. My dog wasn't right for at least a couple months afterwards, very lethargic all the time. Until I gave her homeopathic Thuja, and she finally recovered. That was her last vaccine, we never went back for the Lepto.
When I go horseback riding and the Deer Flies, Black Flies, Gnats and mosquitoes are terrible, I look for or bring with freshly picked Catnip plants! I crush up and mangle the whole plant in my hands then wipe the plant and my hands all over my horses heads and special areas where these bugs love to bite! Chest, groin, under jaws and even myself! When I do THIS to protect my barn cats, you have to do it FAST because they get SO HIGH and playful, they can get crazed and wild! I've been accidentally bitten, so go fast on cats! If you put it on dogs...cats will love them but the flying, biting pests leave them alone. Catnip grows wild and really fast! Try transplanting some in your gardens, too!
I had to think about this, when giving my dog a pill, and 30 minutes later the fleas and ticks begin to die. What do you think that is doing to the inside of your pet. There has to be some bad toxic poisoning going on. I said no to the toxic stuff. And do all natural. Thank you for sharing this video. It confirms everything I have felt about the over-the-counter stuff.
@@roncoleman6693 I have a mixture of salt and baking soda, I mix equal parts. I sprinkle it under my dog beds. Then I make my own shampoo. I mix 5 table spoons of Castile soap, in a half gallon bottle, 3 cups of distilled water, 6 drops of lavender, 6 drops of lemon grass , 6 drops of cedar oil , all the oils are essential oils. And if your puppy has dry skin, one of mine does. I make oatmeal milk, I take 1/3 cup of oatmeal, and 2 cups of distilled water. In a pot, add the oatmeal, heat it on a low temperature for about 15 to 20 minutes. Don't let it boil. You just want to get it warm. Then I strain it with cheesecloth. So I don't get all the oats in the bottle. Wait for it to cool off before you use it on you dog. And if it's to thick, you can add distilled water to that mixture.
@@roncoleman6693 oh I forgot to tell you, if you do the salt and baking soda mix, make sure to vacuum every day, and sprinkle new salt and baking soda. That has really helped me with fleas and ticks. I also take in a 4oz bottle, I fill it almost to the top with distilled water, and add 10 drops of the cedar oil. And spray their beds. It has helped me a lot with the fleas and ticks. It takes about a week to get them under control. But it's natural, there's no harsh chemicals, and toxic fumes. And everyone is safe.
@@stephaniecain2491 Thank you very much. We've lost 2 family pets due to the toxins in pet food and flea/tick meds. Appreciate you and the info. GOD Bless. 🐶🐺🙏👍
VERY INFORMATIVE! thank you so much for posting this! I just had to take my best buddy of 13 years for her last ride to the vet on 1/6/22 . She was diagnosed with advanced stage lymphoma. I firmly believe that this was in a large part due to Sorresto collars which was making her vomit then her vet prescribed sympirica. I feel so guilty now that I thought I was doing what was best for her. I have been doing some research. I have changed my other 2 dogs diet and will never again use conventional flea and tick treatments!! I have since fired my vet and found another one that specializes in natural medicine.
Our pup was prescribed Simparica and a few weeks later he started throwing up and returned to the vet and he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Our pup has mostly been fed nutritious homemade foods and treats and an occasional brand treat. We are devastated and thankful he is still with us but now I make safe flea spray.
@@wandanichols1187 Would love to know the formula of your flea spray please if you would PM me. Our last vet did the same and I don't want our dogs to go through that.
So sorry for the loss of your buddy♥️. I lost my precious toy fox terrier, Lila, who was only 9 years old. My vet’s office recommended the Sorresto collar for her and she had a seizure in the middle of the night that required me to drive 30 miles, with her screaming the entire way, to an emergency vet. They stabilized her and sent her home the next day. $1,300 for that visit. She never fully recovered; was walking into walls and just falling down. She had a second seizure 3 days later and was euthanized at my vet’s office. NONE of those involved with her care wanted to hear about that flea collar and denied any possibility of it being the cause. I told a friend what had transpired and he said their cat had the same thing happen about 2 weeks after they put a Sorresto collar on her!
After taking all my animals to vet, they were all dead within 6 weeks! NEVER AGAIN ! Really got me questioning the pharma co./ pet foods industry. HOLISTIC is only way.

@@rejuvinatez347 she mentioned that it cuts down on how much body is exposed to the flea/tick. I know in the house if you have fleas, they will jump on white socks, so I don’t know about using white T shirts. They would be easier to see.
My dog developed neurological problems following use of seresto collars. It took us 3YEARS to work out what the problem was. I wrote to Bayer and they replied that it was obvious the dog wasn't used to a collar, or that it was put on too tightly. Laughable I kept a diary and wrote again, asking how they explained the symptoms. They couldn't, and eventually they gave us compensation - a very small amount though. These big pharma companies are too big to sue. All I really wanted was an apology and a recognition that the collar was at fault.
Hitler used to send 150 healthy Jewish woman to a scientific research company that tested their stuff on these woman ..who dies in troves. That company was Bayer.
It was 3 years you complained to pharma company? I'm surprised you kept it going so long. They don't apologize because that's an admission of wrongdoing .
I just gave my dog his first dose of flea and tick drops down his back and he’s not the same , he runs around at times like he’s possessed and then tries to scratch himself but can’t seem to reach the area. I know he’s allergic to it and will not give it to him again. Thank you for a great video, very informative

Don't forget to grow loads of cat nip outdoors, its beautiful good for all nectar eaters, cats and ferrets go all funny and intoxicated if a small bunch is gently crushed and given to them, my cats lie and sleep on cat nip patches,i also dry some and put in the areas of the house they sleep in amongst their bedding too.Its also good to burn as insence to repell mosquitoes, spiders and other insects.WARNING !!!!Burning dried catnip can cause happyness, relaxed, chilled out and restful sleep syndrome for people, but only homegrown seems to work for us all and i have never had fleas or ticks either.
So interesting, a cat rescuer once advised me street cats that were rescued in areas that were fed by the locals leftovers which had garlic and herbs from an Arabic diet never had the cat flu and were not infested with fleas. However, the cats that were fed kibble by locals were unhealthy and infested with fleas. So there you go feed your animals home made food and they will last a long time hopefully.
One of the barn cats, uncatchable, had a leather back tick on his back. So I sprinkled some lavender essential oil on the tick, straight, and it was gone from the cat in a few hours.
I haven’t used prescription flea medication for my dogs in over 25 years. I always have a dog or two in my life since I’m five years old. I’m 73. I do everything holistic even when I buy the kibble it Hass to be all natural I even buy either the freeze dried or dehydrated raw dog food and I make them my own chicken soup for them and they get bone broth. I also give them fermented probiotic foods that I make for myself. Such as Kiefer and fermented carrots. They are healthy as can be, they have no fleas. I have no flea infestation they have a beautiful coat. They are lovable they have a beautiful personality. They are very affectionate and well behaved, and I have no issues with them, because I treat them as those in my children. Which I love them just like they’re my children and I make sure I have time for them each day. We truly are a family. We connect very well with each other. And they do not destroy anything in the house or outside of the house.❤
Hi, I love your story. I would love to go all natural for my dogs and cats, but I don't know what to do. I do cook their food and have done this for years but some of my cats won't have it. And for fleas I'm clueless for both my cats and dogs. What might be safe for dogs won't be for cats or some ingredient may not be safe at all. Can you give me some tips? One year I decided to not do anything for their fleas and oh my lord my cats and dogs got fleas all over them! I had to treat my house, yard, bedding my bed theirs use flea combs on everyone it was never ending and a nightmare! I don't like using toxic spot on treatment but I had to go back to that too get rid of the fleas breaks my heart and so costly but I'm lost I don't know what to do.
@@susan4981 I’m not sure about what safe for cats. I don’t know when a cat I have only dogs. To start off with my house has no rugs. I have tile floors throughout my whole house. In fact, I just have one tile pattern through the whole house. I cover my furniture with blankets and sheets, so they don’t dirty my furniture and I wash them at least once a week I definitely vacuum. I also underneath my my sofa and chairs anything upholstered I sprinkle baking soda, and then I am put the blanket over it or the sheets this way absorbs odors, and it also kills fleas and mites and bedbugs. As far as what I feed my dogs as I make them chicken soup and I put carrots and celery in a few spices in the broth. I don’t know cats could have that. I’ve heard that nutritional yeast are added to their food helps with the fleas. When I give them a bath, I leave the shampoo in a few minutes and I use shampoo like Castile soap with a little bit of baking soda in it, and I leave it on there code for a few minutes, so in case they have any fleas, the soap kills them. And then I rinsed them with the apple cider vinegar solution because vinegar also kills fleas and keeps their hair soft and it’s pH balance, and kills bacteria and fungus on their skin. I brush them at least every other day to make sure they have no knots in mats and get all the loose hair off. And they spray them with apple cider vinegar. A few drops of lavender oil diluted in water and spray bottle before I comb down I clean your ears with witch hazel. I brush their teeth with coconut oil. I give them fermented foods and probiotics. My German shepherd eat, sauerkraut, carrots, and she loves milk kefir. Both goat and whole milk and I give my Yorky the Kiefer. He does not like fermented foods at all. The broth I get from the soup I give them. I know that sounds like a lot of work. But it really isn’t. It’s just a routine that I have and it works. They don’t have fleas. And I also clean the bottom of the pads and sometimes I rub oregano oil diluted with coconut oil. That’s about it. Good luck.
This is a great video, I wish more vets were like you. My cat had a reaction to his spot on and it burned his skin. I’ve now changed to natural flea and wormer treatment.

Just found your channel recently. It is wonderful. I found four feral kittens and a young mother living behind a carport at my job site. I started helping them out. But the mother abandoned the kittens far too early for them to survive so my wife and I made the decision to adopt them. We already have four rescue cats and on top of that these cats are feral so they cannot be handled or around other animals. Therefore I built a massive outdoor fenced in structure the entire length of my house with a ramp that leads down into my basement that I basically turned into the forest where I found them. I insulated the floor and then brought all of the leaves and shelters I made them and sticks and branches. They basically have the same exact life with just less real estate and no dangers. My question is this. I want to protect them as much as I can from Heartworms as we live in Michigan and it is a viable threat. how do I do that with cats that I cannot touch or handle? I cannot spray in all natural flea preventative on them because they won't let me near them. Any suggestions? Please help.
I brought on a stray barn cat from a farm in PA that was EXTREMELY sick. After over a year of taking this cat in for antibiotics nothing helped. He would get better shortly, then fall back into his upper respiratory issue would come right back. I started giving him a small amount of garlic in his food, and he is FINALLY getting better. He's like a different cat.
Thank you for sharing. I'm an all natural lady, no drugs, no chemicals, etc. So I'm looking for natural remedies for the little dog I'm hoping to get soon. Thanks again.

I do lightly cooked meat and or raw. The cooked I have mixed in some garlic and or AC Vinegar and they haven't picked up any ticks since. I didn't think any thing of it until I found a tick crawling up my leg. They were sticking their faces in foliage in the woods where they typically have picked up multiple ticks. I also bath them with spearmint natural soap. I also stopped vaccines last year since my boy had a very bad reaction to one of the mixed vaccines. I was told they have had issues with it in the past with bad reactions to death. I was pissed because there was no informed disclosure on it. The reaction was fairly quick as he woke me up whining in the middle of the night of the day he got the vax. He couldn't walk and was in great pain. His chest and arm was extremely swollen. I thought he was going to die. I'm calm in these situations but this boy means a lot to me so I was a bit frantic, out of character. Within a month he had a lump appear on his chest. Went back and they said it's a lipoma and it wasn't from the vax reaction. I'm not convinced it wasn't caused by the toxic vax since he's 5 and we eat healthy as well as very active. We haven't been back since.
Great idea! I’ll start doing this on a consistent basis, though I’ve not seen any flea’s. And the ghosts don’t like it either! Salt is a powerful protector! No joke.
Excellent info. Thank you so much. You would likely find lectures by Barbara O'Neill (a series called From Sickness to Health), very interesting. She also describes causes of disease from a natural perspective. This is for humans but I think excellent principles for all natural life. In the 1800's, a writer called Ellen G. White wrote: Drugs never cure disease, they simply change the form and location of the disease. I do believe these words still hold true in many cases. Her books are excellent for crazy insights into holistic health, like her book: Ministry of Healing, completed in 1905 or somewhere there. She had incredible wisdom regarding true causes of disease and using the laws of nature to support health.
Essential salts are no longer being released in the crops as agrochemicals have killed the microorganisms that used to release salts and minerals in the soil. My cat was overgrooming and was put on a course of Ferrum Phosphate and abracadabra, the cat stopped overgrooming. As a matter of daily treatment, my cats have had water treated with sulphur block since 1981 and never get fleas or mites.

I would thoroughly research EUCALYPTUS OIL before using it, and ensuring the oil you're using doesn't have phenols which cats are unable to metaboiize.
Second tthat, never give your cat Eucalyptus oil it's more than just toxic to them. They can't handle it at all. Small amounts of lavendar and cedar are safer. Eucalyptus is a big no, no with cats.

My vet practices holistic medicine as well as regular and we are on the same page. Our border collie has a Max and Molly Soundsheild for ticks and fleas. I have been giving her the drops down the back every other month but strongly considering not doing that any more. She eats what we eat for supper like the farmers used to do with their dogs plus a very high quality kibble mixed in. She is not vaxed to the hilt, just distemper, parvo and rabies given separately a month apart. I use a diy mosquito/tick spray with cedar, lemon and other EO's that I use on her head and nose, down her back. I can't get near her with a comb and she won't let me near her toes or under her arms or legs. That's an issue.
I've been rubbing those ingredients into a bit of olive oil, (glass bottles) rub it through my hands, and wipe my dogs underside and inside legs. And groin. I'll rub his coat. No spray bottle , he hates it. Then I'll comb him through when we have rub pet time. He's 13, I got her m 7 months ago when he was too sick for parents to care for 24/7. He was a nipper, biter growler.. but for that 6 weeks depended on me even to pee and poop. Never had pets before, but knew I didn't want conventional so did what if do for me. He even lets me trim his nails. If he got a few fleas, he is more likely to let me do it, because he had them when sick and had paralyse so couldn't even scratch. So I warmed water and olive oil and sat on a towel just massaging it in little by little. Fleas couldn't move and I combed them out. Hehis a tiny Chihuahua. But was quite defensive. Now , with no commercial dog food, and natural treatments. Hey s like a puppy/ cat/ deer.. lol A different dog ..
This dog peed "jello" a bit before he got sick. After a monthly drop. We still dont know what it was. Perhaps Parvo. It's a mystery disease they said killing many cats and small dogs. 3 vets wanted to put him down. But he kept eating. And watering. And pooping and peeing. I had to hold him to do and spoon feed. But I wouldn't want to "go" either if I was eating filet mignon and sirloin everyday. ( Among other foods. Pumpkin, squash, oregano, garlic, low heat wilted spinache, carrots, banana, blueberry honey vinegar ACV w/mother. White an wild rice bits I soaked to capacity in bone broth. Chicken, pork loin. Raw ground Liver, I've added small dog kibble back, but it's soaked in bone broth each night for next day.
I just ordered Seresto collars for my cat & dog, right before I saw your video. Took a tick off my dog tonight. It's Nov. 23, 2021 in SC. My neighbor says this is the season for ticks, that they ride the wind. Today was very windy.
I was a little unsure which things I could use for my cat. Could you make a video Just for Cats? Thanks, also some of the essential oils seem dangerous for cats. I thought there were only a couple that we're kind of safe and you want them dilute like lavender and maybe frankincense or something.
Yes - I've ended up with several spayed ferals that are in and around my house. I love winter because we have a respite from the fleas, itching and scratching (me too not just the cats lol). Food is expensive and I'm so tired of our itching for months every year

I gave my dog simparica trio and 4 hours later she had a seizure and had difficulty walking. I was afraid I was going to lose her. My 15 year old cat had a reaction to the flea medication also. I told my vet about it and he said that the flea medication couldn’t have caused a seizure. I didn’t give the flea medication to them again. I used herbs to prevent fleas and heart worms.

Very informative video! I have to say though...I tried the wondercide product and it has a STRONG smell. I'm sure it works, but if I find it too strong I can't imagine what my dog senses. Also having to apply that every day (which leaves her coat somewhat damp after) is a bit of a pain...
You can take your dog a bath with water and dish soap this kills the fleas, than water your dog down with water. If you have an out door dog, I usely put vinger and baking soda under my dogs under arms this is where ticks are most on my dog, just make sure you add enough vinger to the baking soda until it bubbles this kills the ticks. If you notice fleas in your yard, water your yard with water and dish soap this will kill the fleas. Also when you pull out the ticks off your dog put the tick on a wet napkin add dish soap than vinger and baking soda until the baking soda bubbles fold the napkin to where the tick can't get out, this will kill the ticks.
Your dog will never have flees if you sprinkle natural 20 Mule Team Borax in the area they spend most of their time laying down. It's completely harmless and it does'nt let flea eggs hatch. I dont know about ticks, but after I started using that ,My dogs never got ticks either. CHEAP FIX THAT WORKS.
No, Borax is not safe to ingest. Yes it kills ants and cockroaches because they eat it. It is not safe. Do not feed it to a cat, dog, ferret human etc… Are you confusing it with starch?
I can't keep up with fleas this year. I've had no choice but give them flea drops AND Capstar along with diatomaceous earth, daily bathes using Dawn dish soap AND combing several times a day. 😭 I'm going to buy rosemary plants for every room in my house. I'm exhausted!
Of course you had a choice! Flea drops are NEVER ok! As stated, the health of the animal is key, it's the same with people and plants. Bugs do not like healthy hosts. The soaps, DE, and safe essential oil preparations and garlic will go a long, long way to safely protect.
Same here...I just found this channel n feel blessed! My cat was using Frontline for 2.75 years n has now become immune to it!! Yeah, took him to the doc..bc he developed two bald spots..well, doc says, "what he is experiencing is a flea infestation." I couldn't believe it!!! So now he is on Revolution Plus until I can figure it all out. So far so good. I clean at least 4 hours a day here sometimes longer, bc we live in the country..n fleas have bc a real problem n I am exhausted too!!!!! I wash linen twice a week, their blankets, etc...allll the time. The doc on this show mentioned garlic for dogs n cats, but wonder if 1/8 of a tsp. Would be ok..have you tried it??❤
@desertheavens I have used DE earth friendly n my petite maine coon, developed a itching condition. Now she's on a vet prescribed flea topical n she's doing fine...but would like to try something else. She is going to be 18 y.o.a n has a very sensitive stomach..don't know how she will do with the recipe the doc shared...stressed!!!!😮
@desertheavens soaps dry out the skin and animals will itch n itch from being so dry unless one purchases a good shampoo from the vet or pet hospital..shampoos from the grocery stores have pyritin (sp?) N SOONER OR LATER YOUR PET DIES. DE is not for every cat. Mine developed dermatitis n she will see the vet again soon. Essential oils need to be the ones modified for animals only. Garlic is not good for cats.
My dog has been eating top of the line homemade food since he was a puppy along with mushrooms, probiotics, glucosamine and hearts and gut powder and still has been getting ticks on him and I was just diagnosed with lymes! 🤦 So really not sure that nutrition and all healthy products are the only answer. Was actually told that the garlic will effect their kidneys with continual use. 🤷
Springtime beef flavored garlic pill in daily food keeps ALL bugs off my dog. Kat is a little more fussy about eating it. Their regular garlic keeps my horse free of ALL bugs, eyes and ears also.
I had 4 dogs that I was giving NextGard, and found that I could go 5 months between doses, so I suspect people have been overdosing and causing problems, especially since these meds are dosed per weight. The lowest dosage is good for a dog up to 25 lbs, and if you have an 8 lb dog, You See the Problem ? Cut the dose in 1/4 . I recommend cutting doses at least in half and watch for ticks and fleas. When they reappear then redose.
I don't like the t-shirt idea. They will attach to legs and crawl up the body. Also, we live in Georgia where it is hot and humid with furry pets. They need all the ventilation they can get. It can stay hot through the night in mid summer, even.
I'm so happy you found us too! I do not work with farm animals though (and you probably don't want me to lol), but anything dog and cat related, I'm all over it!
You can not drown fleas, when our dog had them we took her to the beach and had her in the sea for an hour, it did nothing to help. Every natural thing we tried did not work, we unfortunately had to resort to veterinary medication which I was not happy about. Now my two kittens have fleas and I don’t want vet meds, what can I do?
Does anyone have any long lasting alternative treatments that work? We have had a flea problem before and it was TERRIBLE! I didn’t realize how bad this stuff is. I need help and advice.
Hi, thanks for posting your message. Using natural preventatives for fleas and ticks does take some consistent effort, we want to interrupt the life cycle, which can mean using several different natural methods and repeating often. The trade off is worth the potential serious side effects of using traditional flea killers. We have more information on our blog post page on this topic. Here is one of our recent blog posts that may help. thenaturalpetdoctor.com/5-natural-remedies-to-prevent-fleas-and-ticks/
Hi, thanks for watching. Here is one of our other videos on Understanding Feed Grade vs. Food Grade in Pet Food ruclips.net/video/w75rnXFu7L8/видео.html
I used diatomaceous earth on my plants and it burnt my lungs really bad. It caused so much mucus that I thought I would suffocate on two different occasions as my bronchial tubes were completely stopped up with the dry sticky mucus. Always wear a 3M dust mask type respirator when you're messing with diatomaceous earth whether you have lung problems or not.
I know a lot of you might think I'm crazy but I have been watching these kind of videos for the last few days because my dogs have been itching off and on for a couple years I've tried the prednisone they are on apoquel rather on it or off of it they are still scratching gnawing you're still not as bad but still doing it the scratching at their ears one of them has really bad breath and I have tried everything and I have three dogs it's so expensive to try to take all three and get some kind of allergy test as they recommended done so I haven't done that yet I thought about doing all this and trying their other food raw food and other things but there's so many different ones Crock-Pot food don't cook the food raw food no dog food and all these different things that you have to buy to put in their food and I have a minimal income so I get so frustrated just thinking of it how am I giving them enough am I giving him the right things they need it's just simply overwhelming to me and it seems like it would cost me even more to try to do all of this.in some of the things that you all talked about I have never heard of and I don't know where in the world to even start to to buy that kind of items there's not here in this rule area.
Also, if you could show the process of using the product for the cat and the dog before you go out the door and when you return, that would help cement the process. I was wondering if I could just make some catnip tea and spray that on my cat? can I give my cat a little bit of garlic safely?
I just lost a 12 YO cat to a mystery “auto immune” disease. His blood level was at 8…low level is 40. He has always been a raw food cat, healthy 13 lbs, no liver or kidney issues. He was given Bavecto and had me wondering. I’m now afraid to give to my other cat. I only used Bavecto once or twice a year. I sprinkle their carnivore raw food with Nutritional yeast and taurine. I’ve just started adding salmon oil.
I’m so sorry that you lost your kitty💔. I do NOT recommend Bravecto or any of that class of drug due to the number of pets that have been adversely affected. I recommend using other natural remedies for them if you need flea and tick preventatives for them. Here’s more information to help guide you: thenaturalpetdoctor.com/natural-remedies-for-flea-and-tick-control/
This summer (late july) until now, I have been battling fleas daily. I go through the whole bathing and cleaning process which takes days and a week later they're back. I honestly have lost my mind I do not want to give in and risk causing cancer to my cat and dog after all the work I put in. My hands are raw from cleaning and combing. My back is broken from vacuuming. I need to get out of eastern US.
Thanks for the great videos! I have a couple of good recipes for you. I use the mosquito yard spray a few times a season, and it works very well! We have a lot of mosquitoes in Michigan…especially on my property, which has many pine trees. I simply mix this recipe up and use a pump sprayer to spray around the edges of my deck, and some around my yard (I don’t spray the whole deck, and I don’t use much) It doesn’t take much, and lasts for over two months. MOSQUITO YARD SPRAY 1 Big bottle of cheap mouthwash 3 cups Epsom Salt 3 stale 12 oz cans cheap beer Mix together till salt is dissolved Spray anywhere you sit outside. Will not harm flowers. Mosquitoes will be gone from that area for 80 days. The stronger you mix, the longer it lasts. Mosquitoes and bugs hate it...Nice mint smell Mosquito Repellent Candles Did you know you probably have most of the ingredients for these mosquito repellent candles already in your home? Yep! Not only are these candles super easy to make, but the supplies and ingredients are also pretty simple. First slice one lemon and one lime (this will be enough for two candles). Then add a couple of slices of lemon and lime to the jar. Next add a couple of sprigs of basil. Then fill jar with water up to threads. After that, add in 10 - 15 drops of lemongrass oil. Now stir. Then add in floating candle. Finally, light the candle and enjoy a pest free summer! Source Pinterest
Hello I did the flea and tick spray on my dog I was not in a ventilated room and smell was really bad my dog licked where I sprayed now iam very worried Unfortunately there is no vet in my town that I can consult with.
8 ounces filtered/distilled water; 4 ounces apple cider vinegar (with the mother); 10 drops expeller pressed neem seed oil; 10 drops catnip oil (not essential oil); 5 drops of ONE of the following essential oils: cedar, peppermint, eucalyptus, sage, lemongrass, rosemary. Combine in spray bottle; shake prior to every use.
My dog started having seizures and foaming at the mouth, I thought I was going to have to put her down😢 as I was crying and loving on her I took a flea collar off of her and pretty much instantly she was back to normal!❤
Thank you Lord !
🙏💜🐶💜🙏
Omg thats crazy
Yep don't ever use pharmaceutical flea killers my go to is acv and diatomaceous earth I've yet to find something natural that kills the eggs 🥚
😮. Thank goodness you noticed that. No more anti flea collars for my dog then
When the dogs come in from going on Hikes get a pet roller a hair pet roller and roll their coat with that and you'll be amazed at how many bugs and ticks you just pull off the top of their fur after they've been out in the wild it's amazing
I'm happy to hear this tip works well for you! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing ❤
I thought I was the only one that does this 😂
Great idea!! Thanks for sharing!
Brilliant
Our vet said it is safe for our half-persian to get Frontline flea application as well as a flea/tick tablet at the same time it wont have side-effects.
A few years later our beautiful cat started getting seizures and died of kidney/heart failure.
It was a slow and agonizing death
I have lost any trust in doctors and vets because of that.
I love that Dr. Katie cares enough to provide natural alternatives - she is a REAL vet.
Thank you so much for your kind message. It means the world to me! We appreciate you watching and wanting more for your pets.
Just use functional med or holistic vets. Stay away from allopathic med vets.
I have lost trust in ALL doctors and the medical profession
I stopped going to my conventional vet because they insisted on these toxic flea treatments! My cat started having seizures at 2 years old. We go to a holistic vet now..give CBD for seizures…she is so much better! Thankful for our holistic vets who are in the business to help..not just to push the money making meds and treatments.😻
25:06 is where she gives the recipe
Thanks. I still don't understand all the ingredients she mentioned.

I put a capful of AC Vinegar ( with the Mother ) in my dogs drinking water daily, they never scratch now.
Hi Carol,

Do u shake the vinegar with the mother?

My tiny dog had a terrible reaction to the Lyme vaccine. She started vomiting foam for 2 hours straight. My vet wouldn't acknowledge it was a reaction because it happened 2 days later. She wanted to give my dog the Lepto shot that same day, but I told her I would prefer to split them up. My dog wasn't right for at least a couple months afterwards, very lethargic all the time. Until I gave her homeopathic Thuja, and she finally recovered. That was her last vaccine, we never went back for the Lepto.
So good to hear that you even stopped the vaccines as well! 👍
My dog had the same issue 😢. I will not give lepto or Lyme vaccines again
Unless your pet is drinking out of wild animal water sources is the way they catch it.
Thanks for your message Stephanie. We appreciate you watching and wanting the best for your pets!
Would like to know what you use please. Don't want our dogs to go through chemical stuff. 🐶🐺

@Barbara Boix I think I might have to echo that .
Hey guys these are some of the things I picked up from the video not in any particular order:
*Shampooing
*Detoxing
*Use Light colured T-shirts to spot ticks when walking your dog
* Garlic as immune builder and repellant: use 1/4 tsp Freshly ground Garlic in food 15 mins b4 feeding for 15 pound dogs
*Supporting environment
Di..tmus earth
Apple Cider vinegar
Essential oils
Plants as natural repellant...rosemary, catnip, lemongrass sage
Garlic will kill you cat
Thanks for saving me several minutes!
How do you spot them with a shirt?
Yes, how to use the tee shirt? Tshirts dont really fit my dog... (?) Thx
Laughable
I kept a diary and wrote again, asking how they explained the symptoms.
Good tips! I’ll get some catnip plants and place them in various places on my property.
I grow tons of catnip. It's easy to grow outside or inside

Yes!!! Cats are amazing at self-selecting what their bodies need to. Thanks for being here and leaving a comment❤
You are doing amazing! Thanks for sharing your story :)
Good luck.

So glad to hear that the natural approach with garlic is helping your cat.

I don't trust the vet or medical doctor profession anymore. They've been compromised by $$
If you take salt and shake it along side of your baseboards in your house, the fleas will eat it,and they will explode, really works.
Great idea! I’ll start doing this on a consistent basis, though I’ve not seen any flea’s. And the ghosts don’t like it either! Salt is a powerful protector! No joke.
I thought I was the only one whose dog kept looking into space and snapping like something or someone.?
Lol
I tried it and sprinkled salt all over my house. It was saturated but the fleas didn’t die.
Does not!
Borax kills fleas. But it's toxic
to dogs. So you can sprinkle it on their bedding but don't dump on your pets.
Thank you!
Beware of this cult writer
Amen!!!
How can we tell the good essential oils from the bad ones?
Essential salts are no longer being released in the crops as agrochemicals have killed the microorganisms that used to release salts and minerals in the soil. My cat was overgrooming and was put on a course of Ferrum Phosphate and abracadabra, the cat stopped overgrooming. As a matter of daily treatment, my cats have had water treated with sulphur block since 1981 and never get fleas or mites.
Thank you‼️ 🌻thank you ‼️ 🌻thank you ‼️🌻

Also Dr Bonners Eucalyptus liquid Castile soap, diluted is the best organic shampoo for dogs and cats. It kills flea's and ticks within a few minutes of being on on them, you can pour leftover water in yard. I did an experiment with ticks and Dr Bronners eucalyptus liquid Castile soap, and it works beautifully plus it's organic! I recommend it to pet owners!
My husband is allergic, to eucalyptus, so guess I’m shampooing the dogs 🤷♀️

10 drops neem oil
10 drops catnip oil
5 drops lemongrass/lemon/eucalyptus oil

I would thoroughly research EUCALYPTUS OIL before using it, and ensuring the oil you're using doesn't have phenols which cats are unable to metaboiize.
Second tthat, never give your cat Eucalyptus oil it's more than just toxic to them. They can't handle it at all. Small amounts of lavendar and cedar are safer. Eucalyptus is a big no, no with cats.
Thank you ❤️

Hi, I'm sorry to hear of your experience with this. We appreciate you sharing and for following our channel to learn more for your pets. You may also find our blog post page helpful for more holistic information. thenaturalpetdoctor.com/blog/
Hey s like a puppy/ cat/ deer.. lol
A different dog ..
Raw ground Liver,
I've added small dog kibble back, but it's soaked in bone broth each night for next day.
I just ordered Seresto collars for my cat & dog, right before I saw your video. Took a tick off my dog tonight. It's Nov. 23, 2021 in SC. My neighbor says this is the season for ticks, that they ride the wind. Today was very windy.
That brand Seresto is deadly to dogs and cats.

@@thenaturalpetdoctor I didn't realise just how many things we can do to support our dog's health and immune system, or the methods we can use to deter parasites without having to give him pesticides. I also wasn't aware of how effective catnip essential oil can apparently be for deterring mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas. I made Dr Karen Becker's repellent spray and am especially pleased that cedarwood essential oil can calm our dog *and* deter ticks and fleas. We live in a high-risk area for ticks, so vigilantly checking is still #1.

Hello Dr. Woodley, I really, really enjoyed your presentation! Thank you so much! I have a female melanois and a kitten. I use natural oils on them, I feed my dog raw meat with diced fresh garlic 5 days out of each month, etc...But did not know about using milk thistle to detoxify them. We had a flea infestation on the dog recently, and it has been a challenge to get rid of them. We also sprayed Dawn dish soap all over our yard, and that seems to help somewhat. I will definitely subscribe to your channel. I believe in taking care of ourselves, our pets, and our environment in a natural manner. Again, many thanks for such an informative presentation. I’m really conflicted because my dog already has had a bad reaction to tick meds. we live in a high tick area nexguard makes her very sick

Don't use any ingestibules or poisons o. Your animals. My 11 year old springer spaniel got cancer after using nextguard spectra and 20 thousand dollars in surgery and vet bills. He is on cbd oil now and other supplements and cancer has not returned.

How long Can I use this natural remedies on my cats 🐈
Good tips!
Thanks!
What if the dog eats the borax?
@@sandyshephard4571 They are people that eat that stuff, and they swear by it.

Yeah, took him to the doc..bc he developed two bald spots..well, doc says, "what he is experiencing is a flea infestation."
I couldn't believe it!!!
Hello 👋 how are you doing???
Try giving adding extra vinegar olive oil or coconut oil in his food.
What about diametrious earth natural powder ?in cat tree around house?
Springtime beef flavored garlic pill in daily food keeps ALL bugs off my dog. Kat is a little more fussy about eating it. Their regular garlic keeps my horse free of ALL bugs, eyes and ears also.
DR CAN WE USE GARLIC FOR CATS TOO?? IF SO, IS THE DOSE THE SAME?? THANKS!! 🙏
Flea medicine is also expensive as I have multiple cats. I totally think one of my cats died from flea medicine. But there is no way to prove it.
Thank you so much.
You have answered all my questions.
I'm going too try this tomorrow.
You're welcome and thanks for watching!
Can you actually mix a little honey with dry cat food or wet cat food to help during flea season?
My Brittany has bad effects from the flea chews very devastated thought I was doing the right thing Not using them now he has seizures
IS THE HONEY & GARLIC USED FOR CAT'S TOO ?
Garlic is toxic for dogs and cats. Don't use it
I had 4 dogs that I was giving NextGard, and found that I could go 5 months between doses, so I suspect people have been overdosing and causing problems, especially since these meds are dosed per weight.
It can stay hot through the night in mid summer, even.
thank you so much doc.. God always bless you,, 💕💕💕👏👏👏

Hello 👋 how are you doing???
Thank you so helpful your info
Yes, I use them and they are expensive. I would like to more about natural remedies
MOSQUITO YARD SPRAY
1 Big bottle of cheap mouthwash
3 cups Epsom Salt
3 stale 12 oz cans cheap beer
Mix together till salt is dissolved
Spray anywhere you sit outside. Will not harm flowers.
Mosquitoes will be gone from that area for 80 days.
The stronger you mix, the longer it lasts.
Mosquitoes and bugs hate it...Nice mint smell
Mosquito Repellent Candles
Did you know you probably have most of the ingredients for these mosquito repellent candles already in your home?

Unfortunately there is no vet in my town that I can consult with.

I’ve been bathing my dog with flea shampoo, lathering him up, keeping the foam on for 10+ minutes.. some die but some live- 2days later they’re back.
8 ounces filtered/distilled water; 4 ounces apple cider vinegar (with the mother); 10 drops expeller pressed neem seed oil; 10 drops catnip oil (not essential oil); 5 drops of ONE of the following essential oils: cedar, peppermint, eucalyptus, sage, lemongrass, rosemary. Combine in spray bottle; shake prior to every use.
