I really liked it at first, but as you said, that learn as you go/fail as you go, got to me. I would recommend it to many players for sure, but sadly, just not for me ... unless the mood strikes me again (so many games in my steam library).
I like the review! Something that drew me in was the learn as I go style of the game. Just like Klei’s other game “dont starve”, the punishing difficulty and need to learn has kept my attention. Although I’ve barely skimmed the surface of the game it really is worth your attention!
This seems like a fun game! Though I am not a colony/sim genre fan in general - they get too complex at points, and restarting always feels overwhelming. Though I do like the aesthetic of this game as I played a LOT of Don't Starve as well. Maybe I'll give it a try if it's on a major sale.
