Same! This is going to make building a lot more efficient for me. While I do play with mods, I never went for the "place anywhere" ones since the pillar and rug glitches worked fine for me
@@hpph7133 i don’t have place anywhere cause I’m on ps4 and the mods on there are pretty limited so I definitely try to find as many work arounds as I can haha
wowow that really is one classy build, i also just did a croup manor revamp!! i've spent probably EASILY 25ish hours already turning it into a giant industrial wannabe ironman safehouse, its my second settlement build ever in my first fallout 4 playthrough with now like 300 hours, and 100+ total hours of base building on my initial base at sanctuary now as well as croup manor, its pretty scrappy honestly, if i knew about rug glitching shit before i started it wouldve been muchhhh cleaner holy, its still super clean and superrrr fucking sick and extensive, like 1:05 you just entered my garage, and where that wall that covers that gaping hole is, i have a garage door leading to an inside train-box-car drive-in-out for a motorcycle mod, and a helipad for the personal vertibird mod on the roof, both of which i cant use because i cant do mods because it just wont work from the start:( anyways sorry for rambling but yeah, i dont know if you'll reply but yeah, have a good day man:)
Super cool. I play exclusively in VR and it's very hard to do fine detail building in that mode, but it does feel nice to view the settlement from the perspective of "being there". Everything looks a lot jankier in VR because of the much lower effective resolution. And yet I still perseverate for hours over as much detail as I can manage in my settlements. Something never feels quite truly satisfying enough though because the settlers never really do anything to take advantage of what was built for them.
Thank you so much for the timelapse and detailed tips !! Settlement building for my settlers and companions is the only reason i play fo4 nowadays and it's great to see people still sharing their knowledge and builds
Clarifiying the 44:05 tip: putting any picture frame in your inventory converts it into a blank frame and no way to get it back. Be careful to LIFT and not store in your inventory.
19:45 I agree 100%. Solving problems is 99% of the fun. Often I lose interest and never even finish the build once I know the solution. Speaking of solutions. I've never built at Croup other than my Industrial Water Purifiers tutorial. Nice to see the fire glitch working quite well here. It looks like you've created a lot of new fans of it from what I saw in the comments. 43:22 So simple but setting them on the plates is a great idea. I'll have to remember that. Nice job on this build!
Love the ghoul launcher, i have a cat launcher at Red Rocket, cats are not very cooperative 🤣 Great work with walls, lot of details too, really great build for that place and fitting, thanks for sharing, and look forward to more of your new stuff!!
i love your vids man recently came back to f4 after watching the tv series. man i used to love to play this game for the settlements but damn your stuff is something else
Nice solutions for the second floor of the house…nice job patching the place up, looks really nice with all the mid-century modern decor! I enjoyed the film and audio effects too! Really nice and old fashioned.
Brilliant video! It was awesome getting to see your process. I confess building here has not been on my list of priorities because of all the Ghoul bodies. Did you drag them into another cell? Your skill and creativity are strong and this build shows it!
Thanks for commenting 🤠 Yes the ghoul bodies are kind of annoying but in a small cutaway in the tour I shot them out of a cannon into the ocean and they haven’t respawned, at least for me playing in Survival mode. But yes minding the ghouls, Croup Manor is a fun way to decorate a house with your own design
I would love to see you do a long form video of all the unique over world items you can find and incorporate into your settlement I had no idea there were so many❤
@@OrangeSqueasy Honestly I loved watching you have the timelaps for the build as letting us know to run it slower meant that if you wanted to take your time you can easily see each detail in. The build do you know if you would do that again?
Could you please answer my question on your sanctuary capital city video. How did you manage to get the rolling metal door onto sturges workshop as I’ve tried pillar and rug glitches it but it doesn’t seem to work the time stamp for that vid is (19:13)
I completely understand the struggle tediously trying to place objects over and over again just trying to make sure things are perfect. Any time things aren’t lined up I can’t stand it
Wow amazing. While I like your junkyard type settlements, I like this regular nice home looking build too. How do you plan to make? Like, do you do some sketch before building?
First of all, good video brother, it's surprising how patient you have to be to build those beautiful settlements. And second, how do you manage to put small items and have them stay there? Like ammunition and stuff.
This is a very small build so things dont take long to load, which is a problem with bigger builds. This is also a player home so you dont have settlers knocking things over
I’m so glad you showed your build process; I never would’ve known about things like the campfire without this video! With that said, I noticed sometimes you couldn’t get something to pillar glitch with a pillar, so you would switch to stairs. Is there a set thing that one is better for than the other, do you just switch them when one doesnt work?
So with a pillar , it would have to be directly adjacent to a object in order to group select while stairs can have a bit of space in between. You’ll also notice the shape underneath of the stairs is empty which means there’s nothing to make collision. That being said I prefer a pillar first since stairs take up a lot of space
Very nice build especially you did everything with cluttered every object manually. Hey, did you ever encounter bug when you decorating a shelves and things like cans/jewelery/food items I place on shelves/tables/etc. will randomly e on the floor/halfway through the bottom of furniture/built items after a while from being away from settlement?
oh yea so whats happening there is that the items load in faster than the objects they are on, thus falling through. pillar glitch some rugs underneath, that helps me. Otherwise my PC is powerful enough to load everything in.
I'm on ps5 and don't use any mods since 1. They are pretty sub par and 2. Every single time I've used mods during a playthrough has caused that playthrough to get corrupted by the feared 0kb glitch, so nowadays I voluntarily stay clear from mods. A shame since I love building settlements and on pc and xbox there would be so many handy mods, but as you said, they would take away from the challenge and the most gratifying feeling is when you make something impressive with the janky tools given to you! Still, I wouldn't complain if they polished the building features a bit for FO5 :D No more needing to pillar glitch everything. I'd also be fine if in FO5 instead of city building just give the player the ability to set up camps for the player character and their companions all over the wasteland, pretty much like it is in FO76, but as a compromise there would be way more towns with unique npcs and quests than there are in 4.
I never say never with Fallout 4 but no one has discovered a way yet that I know of. The secret is to stop just before entering the Institute and build the items at any settlement where you might want to use them later.
My most hated settlement in FO4 for building on and Bugseda insist in shoving it down my throat every time I play. They have just done it again to me Grrr!
@orangesqueasy well maybe both, I've been dropping the bottles then pick them up one by one then sometimes I knock everything down lol not to mention I threw a grenade in (on accident) once and destroyed all my work hahah .How do u do your decorating?
