re. the Penetrator perk: it only works on bullets and plasma. Lasers gain no benefit from it. Easily demonstrated by trying to snipe the fusion core of a sentry bot with a laser rifle - failure. With a plasma rifle - sucess
Something happened that I've only seen in one of my playthroughs back when the game was still about two months old. After I built a trough, a Brahmin kept wandering all over Sanctuary. I figured that it was just a glitch until it was killed in a raid and I found a synth chip when I looted the corpse! I've never seen a Brahmin act that way nor have I found a synth chip on one again.
The brotherhood disguise is only active on the mission Red Glare. Try and sneak aboard any other time with the suit and you will be shot after you end relations with them. Which doesn't make any sense since New Vegas had the disguise system active with all faction armors when they were worn by the player.
I should point out that the developer for New Vegas was Obsidian Entertainment and Bethesda had only published it, thus I doubt they even really looked at it for the disguise system.
Glad that you brought it up because it's cool that you can do it, but Deacon does give you a uniform specifically saying you can use it as a disguise whilst you're on the vertibird, though I wouldn't be suprised if some people did miss it though, so props for bringing it up 👌
I never thought the dog armor was worth anything since it always read zero armor when you looked at it and could never modify it. I just thought it was more junk to weigh the companion, this case Dog Meat, down with unnecessary weight that could be used to carry something extra like more ammo or grenades as you never have to worry about Dog Meat tossing grenades around, unlike the other companions, like they were tossing candy at a Mardi Gras parade. Thanks for the info about the penetrator perk as I had no idea it could do that and have never used it. Terrific video, please more of this.
im pretty sure it gives him more carry weight actually... or atleast that is my headcannon or whatever haha, but good it was brought up i was gonna google about that zero thingie but forget alll about it after i closed my last session
Granted it would have been nice if Bethesda had expanded the disguise ability to the entire Commonwealth. Walk into GNN in a gunner outfit, or even, and this would be better in my opinion, use various Raider disguises since, if I remember correctly, the Raiders were one large group made up of several factions that hated one another, but I think there was a overall boss somewhere supposedly that kept them together. That would have been a great quest to find the boss raider and would have tied into the terminal entries some of the raider faction bosses made in terminals as you wiped other groups out.
I didn’t kno the penetrator perk went through things like power armor shells and robot armor that’s excellent info. Been playing the game since its release date on and off I appreciate that bit of info. Thank you
Over 5,000 hours in FO4 and I never thought to try wearing a Brotherhood uniform while infiltrating the Prydwyn. Wow! I also didn't know about Professor Scara. If you side with the Institute, when they decide to take out the BoS, your first task is to destroy the teleporter blockers so their synths can be 'ported in. Other than that, I don't think they do anything. I knew about the moving objects in build mode and switching the generator noises.
Same. I didn’t even think to try it when I played. Probably because this is the first Fallout game I ever played so I wasn’t aware that there ever was a disguise feature in the games.
Keep this up. You hit a couple things I actually didn't know could be done. (The BoS outfit trick and the perk.) So bring on new/new to many of us secret tricks!
Fun fact about Penetrator: It's actually EVEN BETTER than this video suggests. The game doesn't just consider armor/power armor cover, it considers enemies as a whole to be cover, so you can shoot through a group of enemies to hit a specific target. "But how's that better? The ability to pick your targets without worrying about enemies in the way sounds convenient, but you're still just hitting one guy." That's the best part: the shots you fire are "live" until they hit their INTENDED target. So, targeting the guy in the back of a group of enemies with your Wounding Minigun will melt everyone in front of them!
The strongest use of the penetrator perk is it allows you to target the fusion cores in sentry bots at all times and from any angle, turning them into one-shots.
You should always equip Dogmeat with some kind of armor (including bandanas) as this raises his carry weight from 25 to 150 immediately. This excludes welding goggles, though.
Yeah BGS relationship with disguises is so random, like you have that mission in 4 and even in SF (mainly in Ryujin/Crimson fleet, being the "Thieves Guild/Dark brotherhood" equivalents), but they rarely actual tell you it's a option. Like even in Shattered space, you could just put on a zealot's space suit for a mission and just walk on by them.
I didn't realize penetrator was that powerful. I started playing again last year and learned the yao guai roast glitch by complete accident. Also a great way to conserve fusion cores & take back extra power armor is just forcing your companion to get in with no core. Also a glitch I figured out nearly around 2016 that has never once been patched is that companions (other than dogmeat) have unlimited carry capacity. All you have to do is tell them to pick up items
I wish I knew about some of these secrets when I played Fallout 4 years ago. I can no longer play it but hey glad to know there's still things to find out.
Teleport jammers: I suspect it's like Star Trek's transporters, they can't send a one-way signal through a shield, but if you have a pattern enhancer they can penetrate and transport you through, the grenades act like an external boost to the main relay allowing a synth to teleport through
great video, 90% of the reason i picked up fallout/elderscrolls was because of "10 evil choices" and "10 tiny details" videos, i wish there was something like that for starfield also to motivate me to give that game a try

When playing in Survival-mode, with Scrap All-mod and Immersive Scrapping Mod, you don’t have to buy concrete. The dirt on the ground gives concrete and wood. Bushes gives Fertilizer (for ammo production) and skeletons you previously couldn’t scrap gives Bones (a vital component crafting Oil). Scrapping vehicles gives more than just Steel, as it gives other components as well (Immersive mod).
As always Awesome video with excellent info. I'm to far in my latest play-through to utilize the first part but I'll save it for next time. I'll try dome of these other thing out in my current run... Thanks.
The Penetrator perk explanation has finally answered one of the most annoying things about the game. I'd always wondered WHY I could target the combat inhibitors and fusion cores, but never hit them. Now I know, and Penetrator's going into my builds from now on. Mostly because I always play sniper. :D
Encountered first bit by accident cause I liked using the BoS paint on Combat Armor (with CHR boosting underarmor), but being unfamiliar with the quest progression, and given how common bugs were, I thought it was a bugged quest line. Thanks for clearing this one out.
11:00 Nora is such a badass right there, fighting a mutant in no armor? no guns? with a baby? now that's dedication right there, props to nora for fighting a mutant with a baby.
4:52 If you play the Institutes quest line, the teleport jammers do in fact work, you have to take them out in order for the Institute to teleport in reinforcements
That last one is COOL. Never knew that. Been playing all this time and I could have made my life easier. Because with the Iron Sights I almost never use VATS.
The teleporter jammers are important for the "eliminate the brotherhood" quest for if you side with the Institute, AFTER building the teleporter with the Brotherhood.
i have been playing this for years, Over and over, starting new, changing things up and I still learned a few new tricks from this video, I have only managed to do a full play threw ONCE with MinMan and each and every time I think,...ok today I am going to be a villain and choose a different faction, I get the guilts...hahaha stupid I know but maybe its my NICE Canadian coming threw and messing with my head hahaha --- Now I am learning how to use the ASAM sensors, never really played around with hem much --- I did however discover how to minimize or almost stop all the radio freedom calls , early on, take off to Nuka world, and choose to be a raider for a while, then on your return to the commonwealth hang out with railroad or BOS and those radio freedom calls become less frequent. and of course the other way is just never trigger concord and do all the settlement quests at random when you come across a settlement.
I didn't know you could hold a button to align things differently in settlement build mod, so that's nice to know. I was also unaware of that Penetrator perk fact, though that's mostly because I tend to ignore VATS specific mechanics. It's kind of a shame that Bethesda never updated the Doctor Li alternative route. It would have been neat if we had the option to recruit the Mechanist to the BOS.
If you combine Penetrator and Blitz, you can teleport through the cover to hit your target. Add Big Leagues for extra fun. Add Ninja for extra effectiveness - Fun to one-shot Super Mutants with a Disciples cutlass
I kept friendly with the BOS on my first playthrough, although I sided with the Railroad and did the main quest - infiltrating and destroying the Institute, in my case - with the Minutemen. The BOS had some snide words for me after that, but I could come and go at the airport and on the Prydwen as I pleased. Current long play through, though, I’m ignoring the main quest altogether. It’s fun!
Another note about the Penetrator Perk, it will allow you to shoot two enemies at once if you target the furthest enemy in VATS. The first enemy will take damage and then the bullet will proceed through to the second enemy.
There is a dialogue about the disguise that many miss. I actually accidentally found Scara because I despise Doctor Li with a passion. She was irritating in Fallout 3 and as soon as I found out that the quest updated, I took the lashing from Maxson and went to find Scara. Totally worth it.
The disguise mechanic has been around since at least New Vegas and likely farther back. Its never really explained in depth, but New Vegas gives you a hint the first time you put on armor linked to a specific faction
To be in disguise on the Prydwen, I believe you have to have the specific uniform provided by Deacon as part of the mission. Any old Brotherhood uniform won't do.
The welding goggles for Dogmeat was an accident. Bethesda actually patched it out at one point and then made it a feature after people complained.
Funny they decided to remove such a unimportant "bug" but leave in game breaking bugs
@@xSpecialist7 Probably just the easiest to fix.

I think it is because you are some random person in Fallout 4 but in Fallout 3, she helped deliver you.
@@johnquigleyiii7685 ah that does make sense.
Amazing- after 10 years someone finally finds an interesting player choice in Fallout 4!
Definitely have to do these for the channel, good lookin out!
9 years later and there’s still new stuff I’m finding out about this game
As always Awesome video with excellent info.
I'm to far in my latest play-through to utilize the first part but I'll save it for next time.
I'll try dome of these other thing out in my current run...
Thanks.
The Penetrator perk explanation has finally answered one of the most annoying things about the game. I'd always wondered WHY I could target the combat inhibitors and fusion cores, but never hit them. Now I know, and Penetrator's going into my builds from now on. Mostly because I always play sniper. :D
Melee weapon Shaun is hilarious, the settlement mode thing is great but the Pentrator perk is a game-changer.
The BOS already struck gold on being my death list when maxson walked up with that coat.
Encountered first bit by accident cause I liked using the BoS paint on Combat Armor (with CHR boosting underarmor), but being unfamiliar with the quest progression, and given how common bugs were, I thought it was a bugged quest line. Thanks for clearing this one out.
This was extremely informative, thank you so much for the video, hoping for a series like this!💖
11:00 Nora is such a badass right there, fighting a mutant in no armor? no guns? with a baby? now that's dedication right there, props to nora for fighting a mutant with a baby.
I didn't know about the penetrator perk and now I must use it
Great video. Would enjoy all you have.

If you play the Institutes quest line, the teleport jammers do in fact work, you have to take them out in order for the Institute to teleport in reinforcements
I really enjoyed it thanks. I didn't know about the generator sound there is a mod to make them quiet.. be nice you do another secrets video
That last one is COOL. Never knew that. Been playing all this time and I could have made my life easier. Because with the Iron Sights I almost never use VATS.
I honestly like recruiting Professor Scara, since she won't talk bad about the Brotherhood after blowing up the Institute.
The teleporter jammers are important for the "eliminate the brotherhood" quest for if you side with the Institute, AFTER building the teleporter with the Brotherhood.
That penetrator perk is better than I thought
I’m glad fallout 4 content is still being put out
Fallout 4 content, yay!
bro is gonna make me continue on my survival play through
These are great secrets and knowing Shaun is classified as a melee weapon is hilarious
i have been playing this for years, Over and over, starting new, changing things up and I still learned a few new tricks from this video, I have only managed to do a full play threw ONCE with MinMan and each and every time I think,...ok today I am going to be a villain and choose a different faction, I get the guilts...hahaha stupid I know but maybe its my NICE Canadian coming threw and messing with my head hahaha --- Now I am learning how to use the ASAM sensors, never really played around with hem much --- I did however discover how to minimize or almost stop all the radio freedom calls , early on, take off to Nuka world, and choose to be a raider for a while, then on your return to the commonwealth hang out with railroad or BOS and those radio freedom calls become less frequent. and of course the other way is just never trigger concord and do all the settlement quests at random when you come across a settlement.
Last one is (for me) most interesting... I need to try it sometime
Haven't played since the big update . Will have to re-download it soon.
This was a fun video! (not saying that the others aren't)
This just justified the Ghoul in the Show using the penetrator perk on the NCR with power armor. Thats super badass.
If you combine Penetrator and Blitz, you can teleport through the cover to hit your target. Add Big Leagues for extra fun. Add Ninja for extra effectiveness - Fun to one-shot Super Mutants with a Disciples cutlass
25 more secrets sounds great!
It’s fun!
Baby Shaun being classify as a melee weapon explains why people use him as ammunition for the Fat Man xD
After all these years I had no idea about the penetrator perk.
We need more info on Baby Sean being a melee weapon. We need a Baby Sean as a weapon challenge.
Another note about the Penetrator Perk, it will allow you to shoot two enemies at once if you target the furthest enemy in VATS. The first enemy will take damage and then the bullet will proceed through to the second enemy.
Oh my god i never knew about the freeform movement...
That would have made my life so much easier...
I like your laser rifle choice 😏
There is a dialogue about the disguise that many miss. I actually accidentally found Scara because I despise Doctor Li with a passion. She was irritating in Fallout 3 and as soon as I found out that the quest updated, I took the lashing from Maxson and went to find Scara. Totally worth it.
The disguise mechanic has been around since at least New Vegas and likely farther back. Its never really explained in depth, but New Vegas gives you a hint the first time you put on armor linked to a specific faction
dogmeat's accessories was apparent to me on my first playthrough without any research
So, what happens if you kill Scara too?
I assume she is marked as essential
How much more secrets does fallout 4 have 😩
Nice video. 😊
“Babe wake up Juice dropped.”
what rifle is in 0:10?
Yeahhhhhh
@DESTSO ?
Appears to be from a mod
@@TheTrashmanakadannydevito yeah i know, i wanna know wich one
@@TheTrashmanakadannydevitosherlock holmes over here
awesome content!
To be in disguise on the Prydwen, I believe you have to have the specific uniform provided by Deacon as part of the mission. Any old Brotherhood uniform won't do.
