Absolutely amazing intro, Jon, you've done it once again. Great reviews as well. There's a reason you're one of the best RUclips Creators on this website, and it shows especially well in this video - your effort and passion speak for itself.
Nice editing jon. You mentioned on the jurassic park review you're now cutting in appropriate scenes to match what you're talking about in the review, and it's really effective here. I liked the "there is no try" synch up moment.
This is one of the best reviews yet! The into entertained me and the reviews we're amazingly detailed to the greatest extents of every movie. Another great movie review like usual!
Hey Jon, your consistently high quality and compelling content is a staple during my work day; I thank you for that. My question for you is in regards to the machete order for Star Wars. Now that we have new films, especially with the inclusion of Rogue One, how would YOU amend the Machete order? I've been toying with: RO, 4, 5, 2, 3, 6, 7.
I think "A New Home" needs to come first in any order. That's inherently the entire conceit of the Machete Order; to preserve that initial wonder, and to reduce how jarring the low-budget SFX are in the 1977 film verses its 21st-century contemporaries. I'd leave it alone, and add TPM / RO as "bonus" features at the end.
On second thought, I agree. The drastic shift from modern SFX to 70's effects was something I hadn't considered. Also, it would be criminal to start a Star Wars journey without the iconic crawl.
My Ranking Star Wars 10/10 The Empire strikes back 10/10 Return of the jedi 10/10 The phantom menace 7/10 Attack of the clones 9/10 Revenge of the sith 10/10 I love all of the filmes :))
You'll notice I describe a film's genre at the top of all my reviews. And ever once here did I say "science", I often referred to them as "space opera fantasies". But to be less specific, IMDb correctly lists them as, Action / Adventure / Fantasy.
Yeah, I've been trying to do that since the beginning of the season. Also made an effort to include one quote/example from the film I'm reviewing in each review as well.
I was never a fan of Star Wars and I didn't even watch the whole series. But watching Jon's review convinced me to give it one more go in upcoming days. Great work!
Wow, I just realized that Jon chose my review for the Empire Strikes Back. Thank you so much, I always try to get on one of these Movie Nights, and now it happened.
Nice little jab at RUclips at the beginning. And I'm glad you watched it in that order, I heard it works really well! (and awesome opening with the ceiling)
Mr. Paula I give you a huge thumbs up for pulling on a mammoth review like that, many could attempt it but I doubt few could make it as well rounded and intriguing as you did
Just a little mistake, Star Tours is in Disney's Hollywood Studios (previously MGM) not in Universal. Anyway, I can't decide on my favorite JPMN episode, you keep making the best episodes ever! Thanks.
What is your opinion on the new movies? should they go by the expanded universe already created or blaze their own path? Personally I want them to embrace the expanded universe because if they don't it just negates all of it as canon.
What's your opinion on Disney releasing Star Wars Episode VII. I am personally very optimistic, mainly because of J.J. Abrams involvement as the director and Michael Arndt as the writer.
So Jon, was there a program on your editing software that let you replicate the text scroll? It seems that EVERY basic editing software I've come across has something like it...
i am little confused on this Jon, you say you favorite movie of all time is return of the jedi (or bttf it depends) but the factor facts for episode V seem to be better than the ones for episode VI, why is this?
I could have expanded on that I guess -- but I enjoyed the order enough to feature it prominently here, so I definitely enjoyed it. The article summarizes all of the pros/cons well enough, and I agree with them... so there you go.
No, I don't really understand your point. The inbox button was never removed. A second one was added to the homepage in 2010, and removed a couple years later. All Google. People reflect longingly on the pre-Google days... but you didn't even open your account until three years later. I hate to say it, but I don't think you know what you're talking about. RUclips/Google have made some missteps -- but by-and-large, the site 1000x better than it was seven years ago.
Is the 100th episode going to be another edition of your "Greatest Movies of All Time" or the long awaited (for me at least) Harry Potter reviews. Either way, I can't wait. Great job with this episode by the way.
I love Movie Night and its very well done and I always looking to see what new intro you have each episode and have to say this intro is awesome, my favorite so far! Will have to to watch some of the Star Wars movies again as I have not seen them in quite a long time. Poll Question: R2-D2
Props for using the term "leitmotif"... when I first learned that word in a lesson on Wagner in a music theory class, the very first thing that popped into my mind was John Williams and Star Wars.
Huh? I saw one before, then one early on, and then a third one which I think may have been giving me a problem. Trying to remember where it was freezing up, but the vid just didn't seem to go past that point in one of the prequel review portions.
favorite character? Ackbar, both his meme-generating line and his role as the general struggling against an ambush no one could've overcome. great episode, followed you since good idea to microwave this and you never disappoint whenever I watch your videos.
I have been featured so many times in the reviews I was getting worried I didn't make the cut on this but I liked how you put me in RotJ, good job on your reviews. I was kinda surprised that you gave Revenge a 10 though. I like it to and I agree its the best of the prequels but damn a 10? I personally thought A New Hope is one of the few flawless films that exist, and I am talking the original unaltered version which I own, because there is almost nothing that I like about the changes Lucas made
Someday I'm sure I'll feature a movie with all-10's. To be fair though, the only movies that come close have already been featured, pre-Factor Facts era.
Empire is the better film, one of best ever in my opinion. *But*... when forced to choose, I'd rather pick ROTJ as my "favorite", as it is the fuller movie, what with an ending and all. I'm allowed to have favorites even though they're not as good of a film.
Will there be a chance for you to review Epic? And if your still in action for 2015 why not go to another galaxy far far away to see the Ratchet and Clank Movie,I know I would :)
Video keeps randomly freezing in places. Might be related to all the damn ad placements. And, what's worse, every time I have to go to reload yet another ad plays.
It was very clearly mentioned immediately up-front. I'm not going to repeat the review, because there isn't a point. My original one was fine. Yes, it's true -- there will always be viewers who skip around. And those who ask dumb questions after doing so deserved to be ridiculed. Moral of the story: don't ask such an obvious question before bothering to watch the episode.
The only prequel I truly hate is Clones. The romance was poorly handled, the action was poor and the characters were boring. The best thing to come out of the movie is John William's score.
Personally, Revenge of the Sith is my favorite of the Star Wars movies, with Return of the Jedi as a very close second
This is a fantastic episode and deserves all the praise it gets. Just the intro alone shows how much effort went into this. Nice job Jon.
Without a doubt, the best intro you have done yet! Great Job!
Awesome review Jon. The slight delay was well worth it because the effort put into this really showed. Great work.
Double-props for someone actually recognizing the word! I went deep into the lexicon for this episode :)
Your intros... They just get better and better omg. If I had a hat, I would tip it in your direction. Props! :)
I did a lot of homework to make sure the color, positioning, timing, fonts, and even the writing style matched up. Glad you noticed the hard work :)
Hey Jon, your consistently high quality and compelling content is a staple during my work day; I thank you for that.

I have to say, your reviews are very well-written, especially here. Looking forward to the 100th episode!
The quality of these reviews are astounding.
WOW! This is super professional video editing!!
With these skills, I'm sure you'll get far.
My Ranking
Star Wars 10/10
The Empire strikes back 10/10
Return of the jedi 10/10
The phantom menace 7/10
Attack of the clones 9/10
Revenge of the sith 10/10
I love all of the filmes :))
+Jepper Slotsgrund And the force awakens?
My most anticipated review of yours and it definitely did not disappoint, well done sir
You'll notice I describe a film's genre at the top of all my reviews. And ever once here did I say "science", I often referred to them as "space opera fantasies". But to be less specific, IMDb correctly lists them as, Action / Adventure / Fantasy.
Glad to hear that, thanks for watching.
Best Movie Night so far, in my opinion. You really did a fantastic job here. Well done! Loved the intro. :)
Yeah, I've been trying to do that since the beginning of the season. Also made an effort to include one quote/example from the film I'm reviewing in each review as well.
You're very welcome, thanks for watching.
BTW this is a great video! You always put so much work into your videos and it pays off.
Excuse, what goof are you referring to?
I've never heard of the machete order before. Thanks for linking it. I read the whole post and it makes a hell of a lot of sense that way
Not sure your intros can get more epic than this - You've really outdone yourself, Did you consider reviewing Revenge of the Sith on May 5th?
I was never a fan of Star Wars and I didn't even watch the whole series. But watching Jon's review convinced me to give it one more go in upcoming days. Great work!
Dude I AM LOVING THESE INTROS KEEP EM COMIN JON
Wow, I just realized that Jon chose my review for the Empire Strikes Back. Thank you so much, I always try to get on one of these Movie Nights, and now it happened.

Mr. Paula I give you a huge thumbs up for pulling on a mammoth review like that, many could attempt it but I doubt few could make it as well rounded and intriguing as you did
I have to agree, that opening and camera pan was brilliantly executed, Jon!
Jon, your intros keep getting better and better. I hope you didn't also cut off your right hand in the making of this one, though.

Gotta say, well done on the intro!
i am little confused on this Jon, you say you favorite movie of all time is return of the jedi (or bttf it depends) but the factor facts for episode V seem to be better than the ones for episode VI, why is this?
I do! Hence the reason I'm featuring it. Watch the saga for the first time in that method, and really enjoyed it. Didn't miss out on TPM much at all.
Love the Intro! The Star Wars movies will always remain one of my favorite series.
Haha, well, I'm glad to hear that - thanks. Your comment just seemed like were more impressed with my work than most regular viewers :)
Yes, I corrected that mistake with an annotation.
Loved the intro bro!
I could have expanded on that I guess -- but I enjoyed the order enough to feature it prominently here, so I definitely enjoyed it. The article summarizes all of the pros/cons well enough, and I agree with them... so there you go.

RUclips/Google have made some missteps -- but by-and-large, the site 1000x better than it was seven years ago.
Well, to be fair -- there's only two ads in/before the video. And they wouldn't have anything to do with it freezing...
john are u looking forward to the new star wars and what direction do u think jj abrams should take?
How do you get the rights to all of content? Awesome Job as usual Jon!
Is the 100th episode going to be another edition of your "Greatest Movies of All Time" or the long awaited (for me at least) Harry Potter reviews. Either way, I can't wait. Great job with this episode by the way.

Did you tweak the cut scene's audio? sounded a bit off.
I'm assuming it was because of the youtube bots
Very glad to hear you enjoyed!
Props for using the term "leitmotif"... when I first learned that word in a lesson on Wagner in a music theory class, the very first thing that popped into my mind was John Williams and Star Wars.
I thought about that... but I didn't want to distract from the smash-cut, which was the real centerpiece of the bit.
Jon, what's the song you use in these reviews? It's really catchy.
Awesome intro! Love these!
Thank you! Hopefully next week's episode will actually be out on Friday, as intended :)
hahahahaha Epic Intro and great reviews and not ones that glossed over the lacklustre parts of each of the movies. Great episode!
Jon, are you planning on doing a review of the Star Wars Holiday Special as well? Perhaps as a Christmas special for next year?
I got a question 4 u Jonathan: Of all the original episodes, which original edition was your favorite?
Apart from your small Star Tours goof, these reviews were your best without a doubt!
Huh? I saw one before, then one early on, and then a third one which I think may have been giving me a problem. Trying to remember where it was freezing up, but the vid just didn't seem to go past that point in one of the prequel review portions.
It definitely does! The Machete Order, or, if you include Episode 1, just the "flashback" order is definitely the way to go.
nice to see you have your voice back
I spent the other half pointing out its qualities, and why its flaws weren't as substantial.
How do you decide the audience rating? Do you just take a random sample of comments and average them?
favorite character? Ackbar, both his meme-generating line and his role as the general struggling against an ambush no one could've overcome.
great episode, followed you since good idea to microwave this and you never disappoint whenever I watch your videos.
Spoke about it briefly on "The World According To Jon" last fall when the LucasFilm purchase was announced.
Jon, have you seen the two stand-alone Ewok movies? I haven't seen more than just trailers, but they look fun in a campy sort of way.
Correct me if I'm wrong Jon, but I thought movie titles were italicized or underlined as they are large bodies of work, rather than in quotations.
I know you get this a lot Jon but seriously this intro was your best ever.
That intro was AWESOME!
Thank you for noticing! Hopefully my days of hard work isn't for nothing :)
I like TPM as well, but as I said -- having already reviewed it, this seemed like a great opportunity to feature the Machete Order.
Epic intro! is this really the 98th episode on #JPMN?
Very creative intro Jon!
I have been featured so many times in the reviews I was getting worried I didn't make the cut on this but I liked how you put me in RotJ, good job on your reviews. I was kinda surprised that you gave Revenge a 10 though. I like it to and I agree its the best of the prequels but damn a 10? I personally thought A New Hope is one of the few flawless films that exist, and I am talking the original unaltered version which I own, because there is almost nothing that I like about the changes Lucas made
Yeah, just a minor goof on my part. I get the parks mixed up, since I've visited them back-to-back on a few occasions.
I'm still working on it...
Someday I'm sure I'll feature a movie with all-10's. To be fair though, the only movies that come close have already been featured, pre-Factor Facts era.
Man good and interesting channel I've ever seen. Hey Jon what are your thoughts about Man of Steel ? :)
Empire is the better film, one of best ever in my opinion. *But*... when forced to choose, I'd rather pick ROTJ as my "favorite", as it is the fuller movie, what with an ending and all. I'm allowed to have favorites even though they're not as good of a film.
Fair enough.
And, I totally didn't realize it was YOU who I was talking to hehe. Great channel and content, keep up the good work!
Glad you liked it!
Will there be a chance for you to review Epic?
And if your still in action for 2015 why not go to another galaxy far far away to see the Ratchet and Clank Movie,I know I would :)
The standalone pictures? Not necessarily.
Amazing as always Jon, gave it a thumbs up before watching, and still watching actually. I should finish....
Unfortunately yes, but I had some help growing it back.
I just came back to one of my favorite Movie Night reviews, completely forgetting that Jon used my comment at 10:32
Thanks for using my review!
john which do you prefer? rotten tomatoes or imdb
My ability to balance is inconsistently adequate.
Glad you liked!
Video keeps randomly freezing in places. Might be related to all the damn ad placements. And, what's worse, every time I have to go to reload yet another ad plays.
Easily the Movie Night episode I've enjoyed the most yet! 10/10 mr Paula. :) Intro was hilarious and reviews were spot on. :)
No, I understood you weren't insulting me. Just sharing that I also enjoy The Phantom Menace. It gets a lot of undue hate, IMO.
The only prequel I truly hate is Clones. The romance was poorly handled, the action was poor and the characters were boring. The best thing to come out of the movie is John William's score.
I never thought of the prequels as an extended flashback, but after reading the guy's blog about it, it makes a whole fuckload of sense.
Seeing the "Thrawn" trilogy would be cool - but I'll probably be happy with whatever direction they take.
